This is not in an AU, and takes place right after the two have been dating for about a year.

Third person POV

Natsu was currently sitting on the couch in a certain celestial mage's house, wanting to tell her something when she came home. He wondered if Lucy was going to kick him when she came home after he told her.

And before you after, reader, no, he had not broken anything. Actually, in his opinion (and pretty much everyone else's in the guild), he was being pretty sweet and as much as he hated to admit it, he was being pretty romantic.

He went out with his girlfriend on dates and everything like that during the day, and at night he slept next to her and held her tight. He also enjoyed not getting kicked out of her bed every morning.

Natsu picked up on her scent, signaling that his mate was nearby. He closed his eyes and rejoiced for a second that she had come home alive from her mission with Juvia and Erza. The mission had taken them a couple of days, so Natsu was happy to have his Luce back.

Lucy opened the door to her apartment and flopped down on the couch on top of Natsu after kissing his cheek. "Hard job, Luce?" Natsu laughed, hugging her to his chest. "What do you think, hmm?" Was Lucy's muffled reply, that Natsu heard with his dragon hearing.

"Hey Luce, can I tell you something?" Natsu asked, and Lucy, intrigued, leaned away from him and looked him in his eyes. Those solid onyx green eyes that she could get lost in. They were so intriguing...

"Sure Natsu, go for it!" Lucy says, snapping out of her little daydream. "You know, you're the love of my life right now?" Natsu states. "Yes I do, Natsu." Lucy snuggles up to Natsu even more, savoring the moment that he was romantic. Then it hit her, he said right now.

"Wait. What do you mean by 'right now'?" Lucy asks, leaning off his chest, and looking confused. She wasn't mad because she thought that Natsu was just being his usual dumb self and messed up his words. He tended to do that a lot.

"Yeah, right now. In a few years there's going to be a new one." Natsu stated bluntly. Lucy's eyebrows dipped in rage, demanding, "What? What do you mean?" She stabbed her finger at his chest, obviously hurt.

"Let me finish." Natsu intertwined their fingers together and placed kissed her hand gently. "And she's going to call you Mama." He grinned sheepishly, wondering if Lucy was going to kick him out of her apartment or something like that.

"Aww, that's so nice of you Natsu!" Lucy snuggles up to him even more, and kisses him sweetly.

Natsu wondered why he was ever worried.

•Bonus Scene—Three year time skip•

"Uhhh hey Natsu?" Lucy called from the bathroom in her apartment. "What is it, Luce?" He replied curiously. "You know the thing that you said a few years ago?" She came out of the bathroom, with what Natsu could only call a weird stick thingie in her hands. Natsu modded, wanting to see what she wanted to say.

"So...umm. I'm pregnant." She blurted out, figuring that she wanted to be straightforward with her husband. Natsu immediately jumped out of her bed and enveloped her in a tender hug, cupping her face in his hands, and whispering,

"Thank you. Thank you for giving me a family."

A tear ran down on Lucy's face.

"Thank you, for giving me someone who will call me Mama, just like you said."
