Kouen's pov

I was reading a scroll when a messenger came to give me a letter from the Teiko kingdom.

We planned on conquering that kingdom since it was simply west of our Kou Empire.

I had a negotiation with the king recently and was waiting for their answer to my proposal.

My proposal was that basically we ally ourselves and share resources but they must change their economy and daily routine like ours. They lived in a territory where they had lacked some valuable resources.

It was a better proposal to most that we made.

I had thought they would agree, but I guess wrong.

I opened the scroll and read slowly with my stoic expression.

Dear Prince Kouen,
It was an honor for the first prince of the Kou empire to come negotiate with us.
  However, the Teiko kingdom is a place of freedom and culture. We are people who loves to express our unique ability. We do not allow slavery or classify people.
  So it has been a well made decision, that we will not be engaged in your political negotiations.
   However, we had planned on spreading our kingdom.
   In 2 weeks from now, we will engage in war to see who will be the submissive one here.

Oh dear.

Their kingdom is known for having a large strong military with many magicians.

Their fighting skills are very high leveled.

They have a great war strategists.

They are on par with our empire's strengths.

If only we can find a weakness.

Kouha's pov

"Eeehhhhhh?!!!!! War?!" I shout in surprise at the family meeting.

I stood up from my seat and stared at En-nii for the surprising news.

"Yes, two weeks from now. We must prepare quickly," he said. "Kouha, you will be part of this war to gain experience."

"Wait, he's only 8 years old," Mei-nii protested.

"I'm sure he is ready for this," En-nii responds calmly.

"B-b-but-"

"No questions asked, the meeting is dismissed," En-nii said and left the room.

I'm going to be part of a war.

I don't know what to do?!

I walked out the room to see Ansera waiting for me, leaning against the wall.

Her sky blue hair has grown longer now, a little past her shoulder.

She sees me and waves.

She smiled," So, any exciting news today?"

"Yeah, but let's talk about this in my room," I said.

We walked down the hallway and into my room.

I locked the door once inside since I don't want any interruptions.

"Umm, Kouha, are you okay?," Ansera comes up to me and asks worriedly. "You've been sulking ever since you left you left the meeting room."

"There's going to be a war soon," I said.

We both sat on the bed as we continued talking.

"War?!" Ansera said surprised.
"With what nation?"

"The Teiko Kingdom," I answered nonchalantly.
"Can't be that strong. Afterall, we have the strongest military."

Ansera's bangs covered her eyes.

She seems serious now.

"Don't underestimate them, Kouha. I had seen the military before. Trust me, you don't know what they are hiding," Ansera put her hand on my shoulder.

"Let me be part of the war."

"What?!" I was surprised she wanted to be part of the war.

"Well, I know you are going to be part of the war and I want in," she pouted, back to her usual self.

"You can't?! You're a girl and-" I argued, trying to think of more reasoning.

"So?" She says oblivious. "I want to help you and that's that."

"But we need to talk to En-nii about this," I sigh.

"Yay!" Ansera says as she jump for joy.

Sometimes, I don't really get her.

Maybe it's her magic.

Because I can't understand why my heart starts pounding whenever she touches me.

"Sure," En-nii said, to my shocking question.

"See," Ansera takes my hand. "We can fight together now."

My heart started pounding more and more.

"Who said you will fight?" En-nii looks up from his scroll he was reading to look at us.
"You will be more use as a strategist since you seem to know a lot more about the kingdom than us."

"Why can't I fight?" She pouts. "My magic is strong enough!!"

"But, you are not that athletic to be able to dodge their attacks," En-nii says.

"Okay, fine!!" She shouts.

I was glad Ansera isn't going to get hurt and went along with En-nii.

Or not.

"Why don't we have a spar to settle this then?!!" Ansera shouts.

"Fine ,but we all know how it's going to end," En-nii says. "This afternoon then. We will go somewhere secluded. Kouha will be our witness."

"Deal!" Ansera shouts.

Wait, what?!!!!!!

This can't be for real?!

Right?!

Oh dear.

Ansera is so dead.

We were out in the forest near the castle.

It's usually isolated and is a great spot for training battles or sparring.

We walked to a part of the forest only the royal family knew of.

It was deep inside the forest where the only large water fall and pond was. Many plants surround it like flowers and herbs.

We walked to the clearing next to the pond.

Ansera and En-nii took their battle stances.

Ansera didn't use her staff.

She must be underestimating En-nii?!!!

*sighs*

Oh she is so dead.

"Ready?!!! Start!!!" I shout signaling the battle to commence.

En ran straight to her and was about to thrust his sword at her until she barely managed to dodge his attack.

En kept trying to slice her but she barely managed to dodge.

At some point, Ansera jumped back and starting running towards En, obviously tired from his attacks.

It seemed to me to be a dumb move until I notice a slight curved shine around Ansera.

A borg!!!

En seemed to realized this when Ansera decided to finally stand her ground.

To my surprise, her borg broke the moment En's sword touched it before she can attack him.

"That's not fair, En-nii !! You're using your metal vessel!!!" I shouted.

"We never said anything about it," he said simply as he scratch Ansera's dress a little with his sword.

"It's fine," she shouts as she flew up in the air.

She holds her fingers out as multi colored light began to gather around it.

She mumbles some words before she swings her staff towards En.

I couldn't help but underestimate Ansera.

She was against En-nii for crying out loud!!!

His metal vessel could kill her if he wanted to!!!!!!

En-nii seems to be thinking the same thing as he didn't flinch when the light hit him.

It didn't even do any damage!!

I couldn't understand why she was smiling.

En-nii was not impressed so he tried to activate his metal vessel and throw flames Ansera to end this meaningless fight.

The symbol on his sword glowed as flames began to surround the sword.

En-nii swinged his sword.

The flames were supposed to fly out and hit Ansera, but it never came.

Instead, they were stuck on the metal vessel.

En-nii was surprised by this and lost his composure.

Ansera took this chance to attack him.

"Har Har Inifigar!!!!!"

Large flames came spiraling towards En-nii.

Before it can touch him, she used her two fingers to move it aside as incinerated a few trees.

I managed to dodge out of the way into the pond.

She floated down in front of En-nii.

She had her cute innocent smiled.

"Surrender?"

"*sighs* Fine, you can fight," En-nii said.

"Yay!!" She jumped for joy.

"I can tell you have more tricks up your sleeves," he said as he put away his sword.

She smirks for a bit.

"You can tell? Oh well, it's better to keep them hidden. You know what they say. To trick your enemies, you must trick your allies first."

"What?! No fair," I pouted.

"Hehe~, too bad!!" Ansera teasingly stuck out her tongue.

"Then," I pulled her into the pond. "Payback!!"

"Hey!!!" She said and splashed me with water.
We continue to play with the water to the point we didn't notice En-nii left.

The next morning in 3rd pov

King Akashi had heard an odd amount of chatter outside recently.

He checks outside the castle window to find flames.

Yes actual fire in the air that says "We will dominate. -Kou Empire"

He notices a little girl only visible to his eyes only.

She wore a large witch hat which covered her eyes with her small kimono and smirked at him before disappearing.

Before she did, he noticed her sky blue hair.

He smirked to himself, this could be interesting.

Sorry for this long author's note.
I'm kind of upset with the stats lately so I made this chapter extra long.
Ik it's kind of selfish but I made like 12 wattpad friends that would always read my story and vote for it and i feel kinda lonely  that they haven't been on wattpad lately.
  Then again it is kind of my fault for being on a hiatus for way too long.
I really want to apologize for that.
So I'm sorry for making such a lame excuse like being on writers block.
But I thank the people who support me still.
I hope you enjoyed the story.
Sorry about that terrible battle scenes.
Im better at love scenes although I never experienced it.
