Chapter 13) Not knowing
~Jazz~
We were searching the woods. It's been two days and no signs of Danny or the twins. Stan was helping us search. Vlad of course was no where in sight. Huh. Doesn't he expected some of us to get suspicious?
"Danny!" Hiccup! "Dipper! Mabel!" Hiccup! Mom yelled.Poor mom. She wasn't taking the worst out of all of us. Dad was a little better. He keeps on blaming ghosts, but I think that really so he could stop blaming himself. I don't blame Dad, (I can't believe I'm going to admit this) I blame ghosts too.
Sam isn't taking this well either. She's always flipping through strange books and muttering to herself. She separated from the group looking in another part of the woods.
Danny, where did you go?
~Danny~
I have no clue how long I've been in here. I'm fully healed now. The silence is what's bothering me. Not knowing.
No windows. Nothing to let light in or any pleads of help out. Not that I yelled for help or anything. I don't want to draw attention from what captured me. No. Maybe I'm wrong. I need to get answers. The only way might be to get their attention. Hopefully, I can find Mabel and Dipper in the process.
Going Ghost! I thought to myself. I needed something familiar. Something to keep me going. Two glowing hoops appeared around my hips transforming me into Danny Phantom.
My hands went through the chains easily( with a help of intangibility).I made a ectoplasmic energy ball making what I could see have a green twinge to it. I could only see a few feet in front of me. At least I can see my own hand now.
I walked forward. Yes! A wall! Wow, I'm happy about seeing a wall. That's kinda sad. I put away the energy ball making it dark again. I went intangible and flew towards where I saw the wall.
I entered a meadow. It was peaceful, not at all like what I just came from. I knew Mabel and Dipper weren't here. I sighed, knowing that I had to go back into the darkness.
I went intangible and went into where I'm pretty sure nightmares are born.
~Ford~
Unlike the others, I knew they weren't lost in the woods or taken by some ghosts. Dipper knows the woods well enough and Danny could defend them against any normal ghost.
It had to be something more powerful. But what's more powerful than a halfa? What could take some kids without anyone seeing it or having any clue what happened?
Where could they be?
~Dipper~
The not knowing was what scared me. The only thing I did know was that Mabel was next to me. I couldn't see her, but I just knew she was there.
Suddenly there was a green light filled the room. Well not the whole room, but enough so I could see. There was Danny with a ball of green light in his hand.
"Dipper! Mabel! I found I way out!" Danny said with excitement.
I looked next to me to see Mabel unconscious. She had some bruises, but other than that she looked unharmed.
Danny picked up Mabel and held out his hand. I don't know why, but I was hesitant to take it. I trust Danny, but I don't trust what's out there. Something after us and trust doesn't matter anymore.
A tingling feeling went through my stomach as we went intangible. I squinted as sunlight touched my eyes. It felt good to feel fresh air and see light. I knew the meadow we were in, so I told Danny the way home.
Danny laid Mabel down in her bed and started to tend to her cuts. He showed no sign of worry. Then again Danny probably was use to taking care of mystery cuts.
After a couple of minutes, I finally found my voice. "What do you think happened?"
"I have no and I don't want to ever deal with that....thing again." Danny said seriously.
"We need to figure out what this thing is."
"You don't understand, I don't know what that thing is. I do know it's powerful. That we should stay away from it. At the same time.." Danny sighed."we can't stay away from it if we don't know what it is."
"I agree with you. How are we going to do that?"
"If Mabel wakes up, we can ask her."
"When she wakes up." Of course Mabel will wake up. Right?
~ Sam~
The best place to look for clues is at the crime scene. I need something to at least give me hint.
I walked up the stairs still looking through my goth book. So many possibilities ran through my head, but none made any sense.
I heard talking on the other side. Maybe the it came back! Should I go in? Risk getting caught be it? Or should I go in away to save my friends?
I picked up a wrench and slowly opened the door. I couldn't believe it. Danny! Dipper! Mabel! I wanted to run over and hug. But instead my voice came out in a whisper. "Danny? Dipper?"
"Sam!" Danny walked over to me with Dipper behind him.
They started explaining the dark room and their escape with intangibility. The dark room worried me, but I couldn't think about it now. I was just so relieved.
"What are going to tell my parents?" Danny asked worriedly.
He was right. I guess getting lost in the woods isn't an option. Ghosts? No, that'll upset them even more.
"How about.... Aliens?" Dipper asked.
"Hmm... That sounds too unrealistic even for them." Danny frowned.
"I think ghosts might be the best option." I sighed.
"Okay then we need to come up with a good story." Danny said.
"You guys were hanging out in the room and a ghost came in..." I started, but Danny finished.
"Kidnapped us, we escaped and find ourselves lost in the middle of the woods."
"That's pretty close to the truth." Dipper mentioned.
"Then it will be easier to say then." Danny sighed.
We went down the stairs to tell the adults our half true story.
