??? : What are you doing here?

As soon as Jungkook opened the door, he found a woman standing near the CEO'S chair, and a broken vase beside her, and she had a cut on her leg.

??? : I asked you something. Who are you, boy? Who gave you permission to come here?

Jungkook : I...I heard a scream. Are you alright, miss?

??? : I am. Now get out.

She said as she walked towards Jungkook, ready to throw him out of the cabin. She was very angry for some reason.

Jungkook : But...I need to meet Jimin-ssi.

??? : You've got an appointment?

Jungkook : No. But...

??? : Then leave. You're wasting my time.

Jungkook : I can wait until he arrives. And there are no people here.

??? : (Shouting) I'm his secretary, Nancy. And he is on leave today, so come again another day. With appointment. Now scram.

Jungkook didn't like the way she spoke to him. And he learnt form Jisoo that Jimin is in a meeting with some artists of the company. Why is his secretary lying to him?

Nancy : You still here? Leave!!

Jungkook was about to say something just then he heard Jimin's voice. He was back facing him.

Jimin : What's happening here?

Jimin completed his meeting, way faster than he imagined. As he was coming to his cabin, he saw his cabin door wide open to find his secretary Nancy is shouting on someone outside his cabin.

Nancy : Sir! Um...This boy wants to meet you. But has no appointment. So I was telling him to come tomorrow.

Jungkook was amazed on how fast she changed her voice and her personality, while speaking to Jimin. Just a minute ago, she said Jimin's on leave today. And he was shouting on him, not telling him.

Jungkook turned around to face Jimin. He thought, Jimin might have forgotten his face and name as they met only once. But Jimin remembers him so well.

Jimin : Ah...Jungkook?

Nancy : (Surprised) You know him, sir?

Jimin : Yeah, I do. What brings you here, Jungkook?

Jungkook : I have something to discuss with you, Jimin-ssi. Are you busy right now?

Jimin : Oh..Ok. I'm free, come let's talk in my cabin.

Jimin noticed the broken vase in his cabin. Before Jimin could ask her any questions, Nancy spoke.

Nancy : Sir, I was searching for the presentation we need to submit tomorrow, while searching I accidentally broke the vase and had a cut on my leg.

She spoke like she wanted to gain sympathy from Jimin.

Jimin : But I gave it to you, in the morning. You kept it on your desk.

Nancy : Oh...I forgot to search on my desk Sorry, sir.

Jimin : It's ok. Tell someone to clear those glass pieces and treat your wound. And don't enter in my cabin, without informing me.

Nancy : Yes, sir. I'll keep that in mind.

Jimin : Let's go, Jungkook.

Jungkook went with Jimin inside his cabin, ignoring Nancy as he didn't liked her a little bit. She was rude to him for no reason.

Jimin led Jungkook to the couch and offered him some water.

Jimin : So, how are you, Jungkook? I didn't get to meet you last time you were here. And that elevator thing happened. You're fine after that?

Jungkook : I'm fine, Jimin-ssi. Hoseok-ssi helped me a lot and I didn't get to thank him properly till now.

Jimin : You did. You sent him those flowers, right? Actually he doesn't like flowers, he's kinda allergic to their scent, he never keeps them in his cabin nor his surroundings too, but the flowers you sent...What are they called? Ahh..

Jungkook : Lisianthus? You can call them lizzies.

Jimin : Lizzies...They're scentless, and he loved them. He told that they gave a different vibe to his cabin and by looking at them he feel spirited. He bought another few after they got withered.

Jungkook : That's good to hear Hoseok-ssi liked them.

Jimin : (Laughing) He loved them. So, what do you want to talk about Jungkook?

Jungkook : I guess you've already known that I've passed my audition and I want to become a trainee under this company.

Jimin : Really? I thought you didn't want to become one. I'm happy that you took this decision.

Jungkook : Um...But...I'm confused.

Jimin : Confused about what?

Jungkook : Ah...I don't know if this is what I want to do. You see, I got this opportunity and I want to utilize it, but the contract is for 18 months and I'm already 18 and I think no one becomes a trainee at this age. But I seriously want to try this out. What if it didn't turned out what I expected? What if the 18 months go in vain? I'll be stuck in the middle doing nothing. There's no problem in being a trainee here, but I get super exhausted while dancing. And I'm way more interested in singing, but joining here requires me to all the other stuff too and with that I'll be more and more exhausted and had to get admitted in the hospital, my parents will become worried if I'll be in hospital. Not them, also my friends will not agree if I want to try something new. I'm super positive, that I want to do this, but by doing this, what if I get deprived of my personal space, and even if I speak Korean, I have problem in reading it, what if others make fun of it, and........

Jungkook was nervous, so he started blabbering all the stuff that came to his mind. He was worried, if Jimin won't agree with this, then he can't think of anymore lies to say. He just hoped that Jimin would believe him and give him a chance, and the fact that he got to know about Jimin being his brother didn't help him either. It was his first time speaking with Jimin, after knowing the truth, and he's kinda overwhelmed with that fact.

Jimin : Jungkook! Relax...I understand what you're trying to say. You have no clarity and confused about you want to do this or not, right?

Jungkook : Yes.

Jimin : So....What can I do for you? Except changing the training period, as it was fixed by my brother, and he's very strict when it comes to training.

Jungkook : I heard about The Shining Star competition from Jisoo-ssi, and I want to participate in that. She said, trainees form BigHit and Star entertainments aren't allowed in that, and till now I haven't signed the agreement, so is it okay for me join in the competition, since I've already auditioned here?

Jimin : Oh...It's true that no trainees from both entertainments are allowed to join in the competition, and it doesn't have anything to do if you've already auditioned here. But why do you want to join in the competition?

Jungkook : I was thinking that by joining in this competition, I'll get some exposure of what I need to do, if I really want to be an idol or not.

Jimin : I get what you're saying. But the competition isn't going to be very easy, I must say. And you need to compose your own songs, can you do it, Jungkook?

Jungkook : I didn't tried it before. But I'm willing to learn.

Jimin : I guess there will be no complications from our side if you participate. The applications for the competition will be released in a day or two, and you again need to audition for that, if you pass that, which I'm sure you will, you'll be in the competition officially. Or else, I can recommend you directly to the competition as you've already passed the audition.

Jungkook : No need for that, Jimin-ssi. I don't want to trouble you. I'm okay with giving audition.

Jimin : Hmm. As you wish. I must tell you before, I'll be training you, and I'm very strict.

Jungkook : I'm happy to be learning from you. Thank you so much for your time, Jimin-ssi.

Jimin : No problem. And I wish you all the best for the upcoming audition.

Jungkook : Thank you.

Jungkook exited the cabin after talking with Jimin. He found Nancy, sitting on her desk, she didn't pay him any attention as she was busy talking with someone on the phone.

Nancy : I didn't find it....Yeah, I can't do that.

Jungkook didn't want to pry on her so he went off not giving much thought on what she's talking about.

After 1 week....

As Jimin said, the news about the The Shining Star competition was officially released by the two entertainment companies, and they have selected 30 contestants to participate in the competition, which will be of 5 rounds. It'll be more like a reality show, including all other activities but mainly focusing on singing. Jungkook, as expected passed this audition too with the highest score. It was easy compared to the first one. All the contestants who were selected, were given scores based on their performances. As of now, Jungkook is in the top 1 compared to the other 29, and it may change accordingly in the future.

Jungkook is happy as everything went as he planned. But now, he had no idea. He got into the company, he was one step closer to achieve his goal. He has got no plan on what to do after wards. The competition's contract has less restrictions compared to the previous one, he can get to attend university as well as do practice sessions. And meanwhile he'll think of the ways to win his brothers heart.

Right now, Jungkook is in the training area of BigHit, as today is the day, they'll be starting the training session, and receive updates on the first round of competition. It was going to start in about 15 minutes, there were not so many people in the hall.

Jungkook is very shy, he's not a social butterfly. He gets anxious when he's met with new people, and always had trouble in making new friends since childhood. And here he was, in a corner, sitting silently, while his fellow contestants were talking to one another. He made no amends in talking with them, he just hoped that he can get over with his act and make his hyungs accept him. And the time that his Appa gave him, he's left with just 82 days in-hand. He was so immersed in his thoughts, that he failed to notice someone's presence behind him.

??? : Um...Hello....Did the practice session started yet?

Jungkook : Ah...No.

??? and a girl took the seats beside Jungkook.

??? : Hi!! I'm Eunwoo. (Giving his hand out for a handshake)

??? : And I'm Nayeon. (Giving a big smile to Jungkook)

Jungkook : Hello. I'm Jungkook. Nice to meet you guys.

Nayeon : Jungkook? You're the one with the highest score.

Jungkook : (Shy) I guess so.

Nayeon : We heard so much about you. You even passed the audition in BigHit, right? Why didn't you join here then? You missed a great chance.

Jungkook : Ah...that..

Eunwoo : Stop it, Nayeon. You're overwhelming him. Sorry, Jungkook. She's a little hyperactive.

Jungkook : It's ok. About the audition, I was not sure if I really wanted to be in this field. So, I took this as a chance to get to know if I will be able to fit in or not.

Nayeon : I see. I think you did take a wise decision. You should have become a trainee, when you're in early teens, you've got the charm. I must say, you're more handsome than Eunie. How old are you, Jungkook?

Jungkook : Thank you, Nayeon-ssi. I'm 18. And...

Nayeon : I'm 19. Eunie is the same age as me. And call me Noona, Jungkookie. Even though, I'm one month older than Eunie, he never calls me Noona. (Pouting)

Eunwoo : Nayeon!! Let the poor guy speak.

Nayeon : Hmph!! You're just jealous that we hit off really quick. (Sticking her tongue out at Eunwoo)

Jungkook : It's alright.

Eunwoo : So, Jungkook, where are you from?

Jungkook : Me? I'm from New York. I came to Seoul for studying.

Nayeon : Are you a fresher? Which University you are attending? You must have felt lonely leaving all alone here, right?

Jungkook : I attend Seoul University. My friends are here, they're in same university too. And I'm very happy to be in Korea, I got to learn many things.

Eunwoo : It's good that you were able to adapt here. Me and Nayeon attend Hanyang University. We're Sophomores.

Jungkook : So you both are friends?

Nayeon : Unfortunately, yes. Our parents were friends and they passed it upon us. And you know what, are siblings are friends as well. I sometimes think, if our parents planned accordingly, and gave birth to us, to be each others friends. We know each other since we wear diapers. We went to same school and now in the same university.

Eunwoo : Yeah. I'm stuck with her.

Nayeon : I'm stuck with you. Even for this competition, my parents allowed me just because he's participating in it. Luckily, we both got selected. Don't you find it annoying if you're stuck with the same person ever since your birth?

Jungkook : May be a little bit. But I'll be happy that I've got someone to look after me, even if we bicker with one another. It's better than having no one.

Nayeon : Aigoo.. I wish I had you in place of this Eunwoo. He never appreciates me, even when I look after him. (Pinching Jungkook's cheeks)

Eunwoo : Stop it, Nayeon.

Nayeon : (Leaving him) Ahh...You're so cute, Jungkookie. I'm sure you'll grow up to be more handsome.

Jungkook : (Shy) Thank you...But I'm not....

Nayeon : Trust me. I've got a good eye. From close, you look more like Kim Taehyung, you've same facial features.

Eunwoo : Yeah. A bit of Kim Seokjin too.

Jungkook : Ahh..No, I don't think so.

Nayeon : No need to be shy...

??? : Guys, gather around, Mr. Jimin and his team are here.

Jimin with his team arrived in to the hall. There were around 4 members with him along with his secretary.

Jimin : Hello, everyone. First of all, congrats on being selected. I guess you've already read all the instructions we've provided you. But there's one thing we didn't inform, that is this will be a live show, so you're not supposed to share anything related to the competition to outsiders, if you did, you'll be disqualified.

Upon the mention of live show, all the contestants started discussing with one another, even Jungkook was surprised as they didn't mention this before.

Jimin : I know you're all surprised to hear this, but we, BigHit and Star Entertainment decided to make this a live show. Sorry, we didn't inform you earlier. And the scores will be given to you by the audience so that the competition will be fair and square. Based on the scores you'll be qualified to further rounds. Don't worry, me and my team will be here to guide you. We'll assign you some vocal coaches, who will be with you till the end of the competition.

As Jimin was speaking, his secretary, Nancy bought a box with some chit papers in it.

Jimin : So...you all are requested to pick out a chit from this box, in which there'll be the name of the coach, you'll be assigned to. There'll be 5 contestants under 6 trainers. And make sure, you don't pick out my name as your coach, as I'll be very strict.

As instructed, one by one went and picked up a chit. Jungkook was praying to every god that he can remember to get the chit with Jimin's name on it.

Jungkook took the chit, but didn't dared to open it, as he came and sat on his chair.

Nayeon : Ohh...No...

Jungkook : What happened?

Nayeon : I got Jimin as my vocal coach. Oh god!! Please save me. Whom did you get, Eunie?

Eunwoo : (Laughing) Good luck with that. I got Kim Hak-chul. I can't believe I got the God of Vocals as my coach.

Nayeon : It's not fair. Jungkookie, what's in your chit?

Jungkook : Huh...Ah...I...

Nayeon : You still didn't opened it?

Jungkook slowly started unfolding the chit, he finally opened it but still has his eyes closed. He didn't dared to look at that piece of paper. He was not this tensed even for his exams.

He got startled by Nayeon hugging him.

Nayeon : You got Jimin!!! Yayy!! We'll be together in this misery. I'm so happy.

Jungkook opened his eyes to look at the chit in his hands which has Jimin's name on it.

Jungkook : (He too hugged her) Yeah. I'm so happy.

Eunwoo : (Sigh) Good luck on handling her, Jungkook. Don't annoy him like you always do.

Nayeon : So rude. Don't mind him, Jungkookie. I'm sure, we'll do great.

Jungkook : (Showing his bunny smile) Yeah. We got this.

Nayeon : Ahhh....Are you planning on giving me an heart attack?!

Jungkook : (Confused) Huh?

Nayeon : Your smile. It's contagious for cute suckers like me. Not only me, even Eunwoo got flustered by your smile. (Smirking)

Eunwoo : (Nervous) What nonsense...

Nayeon : (Teasing) Don't lie. You blushed....

Eunwoo : It's because he's cute. He looks like a bunny...

Jungkook : (Serious) Don't call me bunny!

Eunwoo : Ahh...Sorry....

Jungkook : I was joking. But seriously, I don't look like a bunny.

Nayeon : You do look like one.

Jungkook : No, I don't. You too look like one.

Nayeon : You look like a bunny, not me.

Jungkook : You are a bunny, not me.

Nayeon : You are....

Eunwoo : OK!!! You both are bunnies. Stop fighting.

Nayeon & Jungkook : I'm not a bunny.

Eunwoo : Sorry!! They're saying something, will you two listen to that?

Jimin : You got the names of your respective vocal coaches. So, tomorrow we will officially start your training session and you'll get the company ID to enter into the company as well. Whoever got me as their mentor, I want them all to be in my studio at 10AM sharp. Good day, guys. See you tomorrow.

Nayeon : Are you excited for tomorrow, Jungkookie?

Jungkook : I am. I wish tomorrow comes faster. I can't wait.
