Kokichis pov

I packed my backpack full of everything I needed. Snacks, a torch and my favourite toy. I'm running away from home and I'm never coming back! All mommy and daddy do is fight and throw things around. I don't want to live here anymore!

I sneaked out of the house and turned on my torch. Once I got far enough away I started running. I'm finally away from that bad house. I don't really know where to go from here but I'll figure it out. I'm a smart kid after all.

I stopped in my tracks when I heard laughter. It sounds like another kid. I looked over to see a boy sitting outside looking at the stars. What's he doing out at bedtime?

"what are you doing outside? Are you running away too?" I asked.

He looked over in surprise "no I'm just looking at the stars. Why? are you running away?"

"yep my parents are meanies so I'm running away" I said proudly.

"whoe cool it's like having your own adventure!" he grinned "I love my grandparents though so I would never run away"

"lucky" I mumbled taking a seat next to him.

He looked at me for a second before saying "hey kid do you have a dream?"

"yeah I'm going to be an evil leader and rule the world!" I grinned.

I heard him laugh.

"heyyyyy why are you laughing at me!" I pouted.

"no I think it's cool" he chuckled "I've never heard anyone have a dream like that"

"my mommy always did say I'm the spawn of satin. Whatever that means"
I shrugged.

The boy looked up at the stars with a smile "my dream is to go to space and see the stars up close" he turned to me "tell you what kid let's make a promise right now"

"a promise?" I questioned.

He nodded and held his pinky out "I want you to promise that when we're big you'll rule the world while I rule the stars. Let's rule the universe together"

I grinned and linked pinkys with him "yeah let's rule the universe together!"
