E x M #5 (Relationship Questions)
"I'm bored," Martinus mused. "We should do something."
Nevada pulled her legs onto the sofa and sat criss cross, lowering her phone and turning her attention to her friend.
"Like what, Tinus?" She asked.
"I don't know. . ." Martinus shrugged, slouching farther down on the L-shaped sectional couch. He turned his eyes to his brother. "Maybe a game or something. Any ideas, Marcus?"
"Nope," Marcus said simply, shaking his head a bit.
The room was quiet as Nevada and Martinus searched their blank minds for something interesting to do.
"I got it!" Nevada exclaimed suddenly. "We can ask relationship questions. Like, what's you favorite thing about your significant other, or what is the best embarrassing story about your date and stuff like that."
"Got nothing better to do," Marcus said.
"But you two aren't in relationships," Martinus pointed out.
Nevada cautiously glanced at Marcus, who was occupied by his cell phone for the moment, as she softly mumbled, "I'm not single by choice."
Marcus turned his eyes to her as soon as the words were out of her mouth. She quickly moved on.
"We'll just do our crushes then." Nevada said. Then she reconsidered her words and muttered to herself, "Do famous hot guys even have crushes?"
"Yes," Marcus replied with a small smirk.
"Okay, let's do it!" Martinus urged them on as Nevada adverted her eyes and hid her face.
"Who's first?" Marcus asked.
"I'll ask Martinus first," Nevada volunteered eagerly. "We can go clockwise from there."
"Okay," Martinus agreed, ready to do something to take away his boredom.
"First one, lemme think. . ." Nevada said, tapping her chin as she thought. "What's the cutest thing she does?"
"Oh," Martinus sighed. "That's a hard one."
"Why?" Marcus asked, raising an eyebrow. "Does she not do anything cute?"
"No, she just does so many cute things." Martinus replied, seeming to think hard. "Ummm. . . "
Nevada and Marcus exchanged glances as they waited.
"I like it when she flips her hair," Martinus finally decided, motioning to his own hair as a goofy grin dominanted his face.
"That's it? That's the cutest thing?" Nevada asked.
"Well, she does a lot of cute things and they're all my favorite." He said.
Nevada smiled at him. She shipped it HARD.
"My turn," Marcus said, repositioning himself like he was about to deliver some one a whopper of a question. He turned and looked Nevada directly in her eyes, much to her dismay. "Nevada, what is the cutest thing your crush does?"
Nevada immediately sent her eyes to the floor as she felt her cheeks flush. She covered her shy smile with her hand as she fought herself to answer.
"It's really adorable when he. . ." She trailed off.
"Yeah. . .?" Marcus urged, knowing how he was torturing her.
"He does this thing where. . ." She swallowed hard. "Like, he has all of these weird and goofy, but totally wonderful facial expressions and I. . .I just love it."
Nevada kept her eyes focused on the floor the whole time.
Marcus leaned back and put his arms behind his head, like he'd just accomplished something great.
"Okay, uhhh. . ." Martinus said, formulating his question in his mind. "Marcus,"
"Yes?" Marcus asked, going back to his phone.
"What is the. . .first thing your crush said to you?" Martinus asked.
"Uh. . .I don't know. 'Hello' probably."
"Wow, I bet this girl is soooo flattered by your memory of her." Nevada rolled her eyes.
"I do not think she even knows," Martinus said.
"My turn again!" Nevada exclaimed. "Martinus. . ."
But she trailed off, because she saw someone's silhouette lingering by the doorway behind Martinus.
"Why always me?" Martinus asked, smiling and throwing his hands in the air. "Go ahead,"
The figure behind him stepped out enough to mouth to Nevada that she should keep going. It was Elaine and she was 100% interested in Martinus' answers.
"Right," Nevada said, trying to find her train of thought. "Uh. . .what is your favorite outfit she wears?"
"Uh. . ." Martinus mumbled, sending his eyes moving around the room as he recalled Elaine's wardrobe. "I like it when she wears my sunglasses with her pretty purple shirt and the jean shorts."
Nevada smothered her smile as she watched Martinus nod to emphasize his statment, oblivious to his girlfriend's hidden presence.
"Okay," She said, watching Elaine take a seat silently on the floor in the doorway.
"Martinus," Marcus said, not even thinking about his question. "What is the nicest thing she has ever said to you?"
Martinus chuckled slightly.
"I think, probably, that she said something about my singing." Martinus said.
"Why'd you laugh?" Nevada asked in a teasing manner.
"No, no, nevermind." Martinus said, laughing and shaking his head.
Nevada caught Elaine signalling her to move onto another question.
Oh this has gotta be good! Nevada thought, an evil smile crossing her face.
"Nuh-uh, mister! You better fess up! What else could she have said that made you laugh like that!?" Nevada cried, standing to her feet.
"I won't tell you!" Martinus laughed.
"What's going on in here?" Elaine asked, pretending she had just entered the room. She breezed past Nevada with a glare on her face on her way to sit next to Martinus.
"I was just about to ask Nevada a question," Martinus said, still smiling.
"Ask away," Nevada said flatly, retreating back to her seat.
Martinus threw his arm around Elaine's shoulder as she snuggled into the couch next to him.
"What is the best thing about your crush's face?" Martinus asked.
Elaine sniggered into her elbow at the question. Marcus looked at Nevada with anticipation in his eyes. He liked hearing good things about himself.
"Frick you, Tinus," Nevada growled quietly.
Martinus just smiled as Elaine extended her fist for Tinus to bump it.
"Ugh! Fine," Nevada gave in. She turned and met eyes with Marcus, her heart speeding up as she did so. "I absolutely love his amazing smile and his hair is always too perfect that the only explanation is that he's an angel. But my favorite thing is his gorgeously rich brown eyes."
Marcus lowered his eyes down to his phone once more, a grin on his lips as he did so.
"That was very detailed," Elaine said with a surprised nod.
"Yeah," Martinus agreed.
"What about you, Elaine?" Nevada asked, raising an eyebrow. "What's the cutest thing your significant other does?"
Elaine smiled widely and turned to stare into Martinus' eyes.
"Everything," she said, leaning over and meeting lips with Martinus.

(Nevada bonus)
"Whatcha lookin' at?" Nevada asked, leaning over Elaine's shoulder.
Elaine paused the video and slammed her phone screen down on the kitchen bar top where she was sitting.
"Elaine!" Nevada exclaimed. "What was that??"
"Nothing," Elaine answered hesitantly.
"Elaine!" Nevada cried again as she fought her friend for the iPhone.
Nevada wrenched it out of Elaine's grasp and saw a snapchat video displayed on the screen posted by Marcus. The caption read, "SHE TALKIN' BOUT MEEEEE!"
Nevada gasped and watched the video with her eyes widening.
"I absolutely love his amazing smile and his hair is always too perfect that the only explication is that he's an angel. But my favorite thing is his gorgeously rich brown eyes." The video said.
"Sorry, Mac," Elaine whispered to herself, holding in a laugh.
