1 - Carter Raeken
CHAPTER ONE: Not Edited
I sat in the passenger seat of my brother's truck with my shoes resting on the dashboard. My eye lids were half closed when the drizzle of rain started to hit the windshield lightly. I loved the sound of rain it was peaceful and brought music to my ears when I tried to sleep in the car. Unlike my brother, I find it easier to sleep in the car when it's raining rather in our own house.
"Could you please get your dirty shoes off my dashboard?"
I opened my eyes to look at Theo who was giving me a dirty look. I rolled my eyes and shifted my shoes off the dashboard and onto the car's floor. I always happen to do something wrong in my brother's eyes, it drove me insane that he never treats me the way he used to treat me beforehand. Life before this Theo was easier, he wasn't power hungry, and he didn't want to kill innocent people to get what he wants.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a saint either, but I'm more human than Theo ever could be. My brother sometimes forces me to help him hide the people's bodies that he brutally killed so he wouldn't be caught by the police, and I would always help him because I didn't want to loose the only family I had left.
"Are we almost there?" I asked Theo.
Theo looked at his GPS before shaking his head, "Almost, but it looks like there is a car jam up ahead."
I groaned lightly before rubbing my chin with my hands. One thing about me is that I hate long car rides and we've been in this truck for about six hours now and I really needed to stretch my legs before they go numb on me. We drove all the way from San Francisco to head to Beacon Hills because of Theo's plan for power. According to him, there was a True Alpha in Beacon Hills that he used to know named Scott McCall. I've never met him or his friends because I was always home schooled rather than being put into public school.
"So do you really think this whole idea would work?" I looked over at Theo who was messing with his phone while driving. I leaned over and grabbed his phone out of his hand and placed it on top of the dashboard, "Concentrate on your driving Theo, we don't need to end up in the hospital before we even get to our destination."
Theo reached over and snatched the phone back before resting it on his lap. His fingers tapped on top of the steering wheel while I raised one of my eyebrows at him, waiting for an answer. He glanced my way before looking back at the road. "I don't know Carter, but I have several plans up my sleeve."
"That sounds promising," I retorted with sarcasm lacing in the tone of my voice.
I looked over at Theo who rolled his eyes at my statement. One thing that Theo hated more was my sarcasm and the choices of my words that I used from time to time. When we were younger, I would always get into trouble with my mouth, my parents couldn't handle it, but who would blame them?
"I will get Scott's power and pack," Theo promised, "Even if I have to spill some blood to do so."
"Do you have to kill people?" I asked him, "You're killing the people who least deserve it Theo."
I knew once we get to Beacon Hills chaos would rise from my brother's choices. He was taking advice from The Dread Doctors and following along with his plan; which was to kill Scott McCall and gain his Alpha status. I refused to help him, but of course he threatened to kill me if I didn't. At first, I thought he was joking around but then he shoved me against the wall and threatened to shove his claws in my neck if I didn't do what he said- then I realized he wasn't fooling around.
"You mean, do we have to kill people," Theo corrected me, "And the answer is yes Carter. If people get in my way I won't hesitate to rip them apart."
"And why do I have to help?"
"Because you're my brother," he pointed out, "And if you want to stay alive, then yes, you have to kill innocent people."
"You're seriously going to hell for this, I hope you realize this Theo."
"If I'm going, then you're coming with me," Theo said, glancing at me for a slight second.
"Lovely," I sighed loudly.
I stayed quiet for the rest of the car ride, not wanting to bring up anymore conversations with my brother. He always seemed to get the upper hand when we're arguing about something. It was most likely because he wasn't human, and I was. Theo did offer for me to become like him, but I declined and told him that I wanted my heart and emotions, I earned a slap in the face for that.
"Carter."
I looked over to see Theo glancing in my direction, "You should probably get some sleep to past the time, it's going to be another hour until get to Beacon Hills."
"Mhm, okay," I nodded before resting my back on the headrest. I closed my eyes for a second before they shot open when my head hit the top of the car because the car swerved. Multiple horns went off and I whipped my head around to glare at Theo who had his phone in his left hand, typing away.
"Theo, I swear to G-"
"Okay, okay," Theo threw his hands up in the air before placing then back on the steering wheel when I narrowed my eyes at him, "I will put my phone away and focus on my driving, now go back to sleep."
"I was never asleep in the first place jackass."
"I love you too, bro."
Getting comfortable once more, I adjusted the headrest back to it's original place since Theo decided to text in drive. It was a calm surrounding now in the car with the faint music playing in the background and that caused me to drift off into a slumber only to be awoken an hour later by the car door slamming shut.
"Theo?"
I opened my eyes and saw that my brother was nowhere to be seen. Up ahead, multiple cars were going on for miles and I sighed loudly when I realized we caught up to the traffic jam that led to Beacon Hills. My eyebrows furrowed when I saw Theo watching some girl who was standing on the top of her car with her phone in her hand. I started to wonder who that was when I realized it could be one Scott McCall's pack member. I looked away only to glance at Theo again to see his mouth moving and I looked in his direction to see him socializing with the same girl who was now on the road beside her car.
Rain started to pour down, hitting the windshield hard when Theo opened the driver's side door and climbed inside. I raised one of my eyebrows in his direction, silently asking what that was all about. I watched Theo sigh before he turned his whole body in my direction so I could hear him better over the noise of the rain.
"What was that about Theo?"
"That was Kira Yukimura, a thunder kitsune that is in Scott McCall's pack," Theo informed me, "She was telling me that she wasn't getting any phone service as well."
"S-"
Before I could come up with a sarcastic reply, a loud roar was heard coming from somewhere nearby. I whipped my head around to see where it was coming from but stopped when I saw a boy on a motorbike stopping next to Kira Yukimura. I looked over at Theo to see him watching the pair very closely, even when they shared a passionate kiss his eyes were still glued on them.
"I'm guessing that is Scott McCall?" I assumed the answer was yes when Theo didn't answer me but from the look on his face, the answer was yes, "How are you going to get into his pack, Theo?"
"By gaining their trust, the same way you're going to do," Theo said, grabbing his seat belt and putting it in the slot, "I'm going to meet them at the Senior Scribe outside of the building because I have a plan."
"And where would I be?"
"You will be inside the school looking out for Malia and Lydia," Theo informed me with a smirk.
"Oh, this sounds like so much fun," I rolled my eyes before grumbling under my breath with my head rested against the headboard of the seat.

So this was half of the first episode. I wanted to show how close the Raeken brothers are. The chapter is dedicated to vxidmccall_ and Omgstiles_ for being my favorite authors of all times.
Question: How do you think Scott's pack will react when they find out Theo has a fraternal twin brother? Will they trust him rather than Theo, or will they trust Theo and Carter at all?
