Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. 

Lately, it seems as if time has been getting slower - my eyes were starting to shut and I knew that I was starting to lose the war. My math teacher's  voice that could easily lull an insomniac like me into sleep made staying up even harder.

"Ayanooooo!!! Time to go home~!!!"

The door to our classroom opened with a bang, now standing there was a girl roughly my age, blonde hair tied up into pigtails, and a smile that radiated innocence despite just doing something that could warrant her a long detention. Mikazuki Tsukizane - but I liked referring her as the incarnation of the devil himself. A fiend that stuck to me like glue, and a monster that terrorized the entire school with her actions that had no filter.

Don't get me wrong. I love her, but sometimes she's just too much.

"Tsukizane! This class is not over yet! Get out! And go back to your classroom!" Our teacher yelled out, clear blue veins appearing on his temples. 

"Ah! Well then, I'll come back later then!" - after saying those few words, she was gone like the wind. I sighed, her father was my father's brother, that makes that lunatic my cousin. It makes me wonder if she secretly does drugs or if there really was something wrong with her head that made her like that.

"Sometimes I wonder how the two of you are related." The teacher murmured under his breath.

Sometimes, I wonder too.

When the bell had finally rung, I wasted no time to gather my things and head the hell out of that suffocating classroom. But not forgetting to stop by a classroom and look inside.

"Excuse me, is Tsukizane here?" I asked.

"Do you mean Tsuki-chan? No, she went out earlier." A girl, larger than me by 3x answered. I wasn't bothered by her weight, but that didn't stop it from being the first thing I noticed.

"I see, I'm Ayano, who are you?" I asked and put on a mini smile.

"U-Uh, I-Im Serinuma Kae." She stuttered, casting her eyes down.

"I see, nice to meet you Kae-chan." After that I left their classroom. Just a few steps outside, I felt a strange premonition. Following my gut feeling I took a step to the side.

"AYANOOO!! Found you!!!" Tsuki yelled out, nearly glomping me.

Ah, my gut feeling failed me.

"Tsukizane! Get off of me!"

"Geez! Didn't I tell you to call me Tsuki-chan? You're the only one that calls me Tsukizane aside from that old geezer! So cold Ayano-chan!" When she realized that I wasn't going to respond to that, she pouted and swiftly changed the topic. "Let's eat fries today!"

I sweat dropped.
"T-Tsukizane...I need to go home quick today, I have to finish my Math project."

"Fine, but tomorrow you have to promise me that we'd eat fries!"

I chuckled.
"Okay then, I promise."

We waved goodbye and headed off to our own separate ways.

"I'm home!" I yelled out.

"Dinner is almost ready! Your sister will tell you to come down later!" My father  yelled from the kitchen.

I immediately put my bag aside and ran to my room.

"Shiooon!!!!!" I yelled out and glomped my life sized pillow of Shion. "I'll watch Mirage-Saga today!! Ooh! I wonder if the graphics are okay!" I squealed out and took out my laptop.

I know, I'm a completely different person, but anime does that to you. It was a side I hoped no one but the heavens would see. I hugged my shion pillow close to my chest but before I could even play an episode my phone rang.

I picked it up, my eyebrows creasing together.
"Hello?"

"Are you Ayano Mikazuki?"

I frowned.
"Yes I am, who are you?"

"Your cousin has been in an accident."

In an instant, my world had crumbled. The moment they told me the address I immediately put on a jacket and rushed to get a taxi.

"T-Tsuki-chan?" I asked nervously as I entered the hospital room.

"A-Ayano.."

I immediately rushed to her side.

"This is my fault isn't it? If I just went out to get fried with you, none of this would have ever happened."

"Ayano...calm.down, it's the..stupid driver's fault, if you came with me the only difference is that you'd be hurt too.."

I was on the brink of tears but I held them back. "Tsuki..I'm sorry, please don't die."

She snorted.
"You..You can't get rid of me that easy A-Aya-chan, are you trying to curse me or s-something?"

She looked at the white hospital roof.
"Hey, I'm tired though.. so can you p-promise me something?"

"...O-okay, What is it?"

"I-I want you t-to help t-the h----" She wasn't able to finish it when she suddenly passed out.

Everything went in slow motion when doctors and nurses piled in the room.

A doctor went to me with a sad face.
"It's best you go outside we have to perform an operation."

I didn't want to exit the room but I was left with no other option, my presence wouldn't have even changed anything in the first place. 

Don't you dare die on me Tsuki.
