There was a small girl hearing to the voice of an old man, she was smiling and was lost in his voice, the song was about a man, who had loved a woman deeply.

"Baba why you stopped?"

The man looked at the little girl, "nothing I was just thinking of something."

The girl was confused, "baba did you knew them? How are they and what they do?"

The man smiles at the little girl, "do you want to know?"

The girls eyes widen and there was a shine, "yes Baba, I want to know. Please tell me about them."

The man nodded at her, "you know it all started with a young lady."

An old man stood up, "Ragini my blessings are always with you." He placed his hand on her head and she left.

Ragini a very calm and sweet person, she lives for her father, her mother died after giving her birth.

Her best friend came, "Ragini?"

Ragini looked up, "Ratan you here?"

Ratan smiles, "Ragini it's your first day let me drop you it's a short way and near to my working place."

Ragini agrees, she knows there is no need to discuss about anything with him, she sat on the back of the bike and Ratan dropped her to the college.

Ragini stood off the bike and was near the gate, "thank you Ratan, bye." She waves him and entered the college, there she was stopped by a small group of students, well these weren't students anymore, these were graduated ones.

"Ey sanskari {Traditional} come here!" She heard a voice calling her, she was scared, they were all elder and one of them was looking like a gangster, "yes, you come!" The man in with anger on his face said.

Ragini gulps, she goes near them, "g... goo..."

"Will you be able to speak a few words or not?" He said coming closer to her.

"Good Morning Sir!"

"Do I look like a Sir? I'm Laksh, Lakshya Maheshwari and you are?"

"Ragini Gadodia!" She said while the drops of sweat were running down her temple.

Laksh rolls his eyes, "what is in your bag?" He asked and she confused, she opens the bag in front of him and went near, "Sir, books and food box."

"You again called me Sir? My name is Laksh. Get it into your mind!" He took the bag from her and smelled the food, "who cooked it?"

"Si..."

He gave her a death glare.

"Laksh ji I cooked it." She was nervous, but also fearless, he had seen many other women's who had lost their calmness in front of him.

He gave her the bag back, but kept the tiffin box, "I will taste it and let you know if it was good or bad. If it turned out to be delicious you will bring daily food for me, not us but me."

Ragini nods, "Si.., Laksh ji, what will I eat?" She asked cutely that was melting his heart, the principal come.

"You street boys, don't harass my students, go!" He shouts and Laksh smiles cool at him, "what happen you want also something to eat, but Mr. Khurrana I though you are on diet?"

The principal shook his head, "Laksh don't fool my new students, you have ended your college three years back still you are here, don't you want to start working for your life or will you be always living under your brothers roof, eating his food and spending his money?"

Laksh nods, "yes, that is what I am doing. Sir I'm not doing a crime sitting here, talking to new students and asking for food isn't a real crime."

Laksh stood up and looked at Ragini, "you say, did I touched you, ragged or misbehaved with you?"

Ragini shook her head, "no." She said and the principal had to leave them.

Ragini looked at his hands, "Laksh ji my bag."

Laksh smiles, "it's Laksh only!" He gave it back to her and she left to attend her class.

Laksh was sitting there with his friends, who were like him, useless.

In the evening

Ragini was in the kitchen, she was preparing the dinner, when she remembered her last talk.

"Sanskari!" He shouted and she turned, "Laksh ji?"

Laksh shook his head, "fine whatever. Tomorrow two tiffins one for you and one for me." He said to her while he returned the lunch box.

Ragini was serving the dinner to her father and Ratan, she was lost in her thoughts that she filled each plate twice.

"Ragini!" They both said and she comes out of her trance.

"Haan!" She said looking at them, "what happen?" They looked at their plates and she lowers her head, "sorry." She said and left the dining table. She filled the two boxes and sat on her regular place. She talked about her day, but it was clear, she was hiding something.

I can't tell them about this guy, otherwise papa will cut my name from the register and I won't be able to study. I will survive.

At the same time somewhere else

"Laksh enough is enough, today again the principal called me, what are you even doing there? You have passed your education three years back now it's time to move on." His brother said to him.

Laksh didn't cared much.

"Sanskaar please don't shout at him like this, Laksh look your brother isn't that wrong, you should think about the future. What will you do, when you get married?" His sister-in-law said.

Laksh pouts, "I don't want to marry and even if she should love me the way I am and not the money my brother is earning. My dear Swara Bhabhi you at least stay on my side."

Swara rolls her eyes, "please I'm always on your side, but he isn't wrong. You aren't getting younger!"

"Haaw Maa don't say this, my Laksh Chachu is a hero. I will never turn old."

Laksh smiles, "thank you my one and only supporter, Shona!" He kisses her cheek and left the table after having his dinner.

Now weeks have passed.

Ragini bought him daily food, he ate it with excitement, "Ragini what is this again no sweet dish?"

Ragini lowers her gaze, "we don't make sweet dish on normal days. Only if there is an occasion. I have to go, bye." She waves him and left from there.

He looked at his friends, "where is she going?"

"Lucky rehearsal for the talent show this Friday night." One of his friend said.

"Oh rehearsal, let's go and check it out. This will be fun." Laksh said and they all rushed there.

All had given a performance only Ragini was left, but the other's were insulting her, "no one wants to see a traditional / behen ji type. Leave the stage."

Laksh stood up, "oh do you have the guts to do it better? Come let's see how good you are!" Laksh drags the boys to the stage and made them dance on various songs. All laughed and Ragini was ashamed.

She left the auditorium and he followed her, "Ragini they won't harass you again. Come on try it again." He hold her hand, but she releases herself from his grip, "leave, how dare you to touch me? I'm not a cheap person who will do what you say just because you helped me."

Laksh was confused, "what?" He shook his head, "Ragini there is a misunderstanding I'm not going to take advantage of you."

He hold his cheek as a tight slap reached him, there was a sound echoing in his ear. He looked at her, "what the hell!" He was coming dangerously close to her, but she didn't moved.

Laksh shook his head, "I don't know what you have heard, but I'm not like that." He left from there and didn't show up. He was at home holding his burning cheek. That stupid girl, how dare she to slap me? I helped her she should have thanked me, but no, madam thought I would take advantages of her. Uff.

Ragini was crying on her bed, she wasn't sure of it was right or wrong, giving him the slap. He is a goon, enough of obeying him and his demands. I'm not his puppet neither his personal cook. I'm not going to do anything anymore, even if it means he will make me suffer.

It was the next day at college

Ragini wasn't even looking at them, no one talked to her or teases her, neither bother about her.

This was going on for weeks now, she hasn't seen him, he hasn't shown up.

Ratan was seeing at her restless face, "Ragini what happen, where are you lost?" She shook her head, but it didn't took him long and he made her speak.

"This is good that he isn't there anymore, who knows what he would have done to you, why didn't you complain about him earlier?"

Ragini shook her head, "there was never a need, but I saw him with that woman."

Ratan nods, "cheap guy!" They left the cafe and bumped into a woman.

Ragini widen her eyes, "you?"

The woman looked at her, "yes, me!" She said clapping into her hands, "who are you?" She was coming near and laughing madly at her.

Ragini frighten, just then a friend of Laksh appears, "Oh Rani, come these aren't good people. She is the one who hurt your Laksh bhai. Come!" He took her along with him.

Ragini and Ratan were confused, they followed them and saw Laksh yawing, he was resting on the rocks near the beach.

"Laksh here I found her."

Laksh looked at her, "Rani how many times should I tell you not to runaway from the asylum, they will help you." He stood up, "promise me not to run again."

Rani pouts, but she nods somehow and agrees, "okay!" Laksh smiles, "I'm going to drop you now!" She shook her head as she was scared.

Laksh got confused, "what happen, did they hurt you?"

Rani shrugs, "I don't like the ward man." She said playing with her skirt.

Ragini come to her, "are you alright, what the war man do to you?" She took a hanky and wet it with water. She cleans the face of the woman, "oh so beautiful, don't hide it behind the mud."

Laksh was looking at her, "what are you doing here?" Ragini saw him and lowers her gaze, "sorry." She said holding her ears.

Rani smiles, "sorry!" She too hold her ears.

Laksh shook his head with a frown, "what the ward man did?" Even he wanted to know.

Rani shook her head, Ragini hold her hand, "tell me." Rani nodded and told her, Laksh made a fist and rushed to the asylum, he beaten up the ward man for the sexual harassment on Rani.

Ragini come with the police, they arrested both.

Sanskaar come to the police station like her father.

"What is this, why are we here?" Shekhar asked his daughter.

"Papa..."

Ratan come and explained everything.

Sanskaar saw at his brother, "that is what you were doing the last three years looking after her?"

Laksh didn't talked to anyone, "maybe?"

Ragini come, "why are you helping her, when she isn't related to you?"

Laksh looked at her in anger, "people call it HUMANITY."

"Laksh, please if you promise me to take the responsibility for her then I will arrange a better place for her stay."

Laksh stood up, "promise?"

"Promise!" He hold his brothers cheek and called the lawyer for the bail.

Ragini liked the new side of him, she always thought he is a gangster or something like this, but he actually is a good man who cares for his friends.

"You thought he was having an affair with Rani?"

Ragini nodded to Laksh friend, "they were very close and I felt there was something wrong with her."

"Laksh is looking after her, since her boyfriend ditched her for another woman. He had promised to marry her, they shared everything and that bastard left her. She was alone, her parents throw her out, she was pregnant, but lost it in an accident. Her parents moved away, but she was left alone, Laksh found her and cared for her!"

Ragini was seeing Laksh in a new light, she was looking for him, "Laksh?"

Laksh turns and saw her, "Ragini, what are you doing here?" He was drinking and looking into the ocean.

Ragini smiles, she sat next to him and was admiring him.

He felt her gaze and looked at her with the corner of his eyes.

"What?"

Ragini shook her head, "nothing." She took out a tiffin box and gave it to him, "for you."

Laksh didn't took it, but she left it next to him, he was missing her food and looked at his back. She wasn't there, he opens the box and smelled the sweet dish, "Rasgulle!" He was happy and started to eat it. She was looking at him from far with a smile on her face.

The time was passing RagLak had started to have a silent relationship.

Laksh was waiting for her, he was there daily, but then one day there she didn't come.

Laksh felt restless, he knew where she lives and reached her place, her father was scolding her, "Ratan is a good choice, this Laksh is doing nothing in his life he will never keep you happy!"

Ragini shook her head, "Papa please give him a chance, he would do everything for me."

Laksh come into the house, "Uncle. You say your demands and I will keep them."

Ragini rushed to him, "Uncle I'm not interested in marrying Ragini, you see she is very happy with Laksh."

Shekhar shows his palm, "what can you even offer her? How will you feed her and look after her?"

Laksh lowers his gaze, "I haven't started to think about it, but if you give me a chance and time I'm sure I will be able to fulfil all the demands."

Shekhar saw the love in his daughters eyes for the man she is hugging, she cups the face of Laksh, "I'm always on your side."

Laksh was about to leave, when Shekhar stopped him, "just be able to feed her three times and I will make sure you will be her husband."

Laksh smiles, he nods and left from there. He went to his brothers office and asked him for a job, "what! You want to work?"

Laksh nods and looked at him in disbelief.

"Why?"

"Bhai Ragini!"

"Oh it's because of a girl!"

Laksh nods and Sanskaar was happy as his brother was taking another step to his independency.

Ratan and Ragini were talking, "what he said giving you to me?"

Ragini looked at him, "maybe because he knows you won't hurt me, but I don't want to marry you. I would rather die, sorry. But if I will become a bride then only for the man I love. Laksh."

Laksh was working hard, day and night he gave his energy in it, till the day he lost his mind, "you told me you will keep her in a save place!" He shouts, "where is Rani?"

Sanskaar lowers his gaze, "Laksh I'm sorry, but..."

Laksh got to know that even at the new asylum they harassed her, she was killed but they made it look like a suicide case.

Laksh went to the asylum and in his rage he committed a crime.

Ragini met him in jail, "Laksh?"

Laksh looked at her, "I'm sorry!"

Ragini shook her head, "no Laksh, it's okay. I think I would be more disappointed if you wouldn't have given her justice."

Laksh comes closer, she cups his face through the railing, "I will wait for you."

Laksh shook his head, "no, you can't spent your youth like this, you will marry Ratan, I know he will keep you happy."

Ragini shook her head, "I would rather die than become the bride of someone else."

Laksh pulls her close, "don't say like this, if you will be gone what will be with me?"

Ragini kisses his lips through the railing, it was the first and last time he tasted her lips.

Laksh hold her in his embrace, "today, I thought a lot where to find you, but all what come into my mind was this old temple. You used to visit it. I hoped to find you here."

"And here I am, always praying for your return and health."

The girl looked at them with open mouth, "wow now you can get married."

Ragini looked at her, "who is she?"

"A girl who was listening to my story."

Ragini shook her head, "our story!"

"Ragini I would do everything for you!"

Ragini knee that, "I know I would do it too. All for you."

I decided to focus on non serial tracks and non serial couples. I won't write further on RagLak. Those stories which are pending will end and afterwards I won't start new. A few books are only with one chapter or a concept. I might do an OS for it then.
