Suraj had dropped Naina to the train station and returned to the hospital. He looked at his father and mother.

"Maa Papa why didn't you told me it's Chakoriya. And what happened to her parents?". Suraj was asking them, but no one was answering to his questions.

Vivaan come to him. "Bhai please leave this topic, what are you doing here. I mean, why are you back. She isn't your responsibility, you have rejected her!" Vivaan was looking at her upset.

Suraj pulls Vivaan out of the patient room. "Vivaan tell me what had happened?" Both were outside her room. Vivaan frees himself from Suraj grip. "Bhai I don't know much, just when I was three years old I got my best friend. And you, you tried to kill her. Papa sent you free go!" He pushes him and entered the patient room again.

What Vivaan was three, that mean was just five or six years old. She is living with them.

Suraj comes in again, his mother wasn't giving him any heed, he didn't mind it. Suraj bend down in front of his father. "Papa, I will stay! I will find a suitable man for her, that is my promise!" KN looked at him. "Suraj after that you will leave us again, do you think we can handle another farewell from you? Go there is no need of you here, I will handle it. I'm not death yet!".

KN pushes him away. "I had found a suitable man for her, but he refused it. Now I will find a better one. There is no need for you to stay. She is my responsibility not yours!"

Suraj felt bad, but could understand his father's anger and disappointment. "Papa, she is my responsibility too. I will not leave until I see her in the right hands".

Vivaan was looking at them. Both are stubborn and stupid. "Bhai if you don't like her, then go to your Naina! Papa is right, we had the found the perfect man, but he is selfish!" Vivaan hold her hand tightly.

"Vivaan is it selfish to have an own mind, another opinion to the rest. I have lived my life alone away from everyone. What did you all thought? I will come back and stay? You all might be right. But I have fallen in love with Naina. She has given me what I have missed over the years. Love and a family!" Suraj was fed up to explain himself. "I will stay and find a man for her!"

Chakor had opened her eyes for a short time. She was breathing normally and could hear his point of view. I didn't knew that. Suraj I won't come into your way. She was sleeping due to the medicine effect.

Suraj was at the mansion. He was sitting on his bed holding an old picture. He genuinely smiles looking at it. "Chakor you have grown up!"

The past of us

"Uncle what is the baby's name?" A little boy asked.

"Suraj this is my daughter Chakoriya!" The man answered to Suraj, who has come with his family.

"Haaw long name! Chakoriya! Can I call her baby?" He was asking them cutely.

They all laughed at him.

"Suraj you can call her Chakor?"

Suraj shook his head. "No, baby!"

They knew how stubborn he is and agreed to him.

Baby was growing and Suraj too. "Baby speak!"

Baby was quiet.

"Bhuvaan kaka why she isn't speaking?" Suraj was disappointed.

"Suraj she is understanding the words, it takes time to speak. She is a baby, let her become older. You know then she won't stop speaking!"

All agreed and Suraj nodded.

Chakor turns 18 months and she had started to speak.

"Shut up! I can't hear your talks anymore! Please keep quiet!"

*Hahahahaha* All were laughing at him.

"Suraj wasn't it you, who was eager to hear her voice!"

Suraj pouts. "So what now I'm annoyed!" He huffs and left from there.

"Suraj!".

He stopped and turned to her. "Haaw say again!"

"Suraj!"

He jumped up. "You heard it. She just said my name!" He hold her and twirled her around.

"She loves you a lot and admires you!"

Suraj looked at her. "I love you too!" He kissed her cheek and played with her. Till the day he left...

Everything has changed. I'm sorry Chakor.

A few weeks passed and Chakor was back at the mansion. "Uncle don't be angry on Suraj. He had the right to refuse. I was just not in my sense the car come from nowhere!" She was in her bedroom taking rest.

Suraj come with a tray of food.

*Knock knock*

Chakor looked up. "Come in!"

Suraj enters the room. He placed the tray near the bed and looked at her. "How you feel?"

Chakor shook her head. "Okay".

Suraj felt bad. "Sorry!"

Chakor shook her head. "It's not your fault. Don't know this car come from nowhere. I was blindly walking on the road! It was never my intention to get hurt!"

Suraj laughs. "Here have some food!" He took the spoon and filled it with the soup. "Open your mouth!"

Chakor smiles. "Aah"

Suraj made her eat the soup. They talked the whole time. "Chakor what you did after the death of your parents?"

Chakor lowered her gaze. "Uncle took me in, he cared for me like I'm his daughter. He told me not to worry as he will look after me. I went to the school, but I didn't liked it! It was too boring! Uncle was very angry about this, he wanted to sent me to the city to you. But I don't wanted to leave anyone. What if they forgot me!" She was scared, she had no one else besides them. She wipes her tears away.

Suraj felt bad. "I never wanted to make you cry or hurt you initially, I will stay here and find a groom for you!" He took the tray and left from the room.

Chakor was crying under the duvet. I don't want to leave. I want to stay here, it's my home!

I was five years old, when Maa and Papa died in the accident.

A small girl is sitting on the chair of the hospital, she was crying bitterly.

"Chakor!" A male voice called her, she looked up and saw her uncle.

"Uncle!" She cried on his shoulder, the death of her parents got confirmed.

"We are sorry, but we couldn't save her parents. The truck rams the front of the car and both got crushed in it!"

KN took her. "You will stay with us, Bhuvaan and Kasturi were our friends and you were always like my daughter!".

She cried every night, Teju slept with her in a room. She gave her the time and love knowing that her son also needed her.

"Chakor you are growing. I think I will make you to my permanent daughter!"

"How?" Vivaan and Chakor asked,

"Suraj. He is elder than you and he always said he loves you! Haan I will make you my daughter-in-law!" He taps her cheeks and made her smile.

"Haan Suraj, but when will he return?"

Vivaan looked at her. "Di forget it. Come let's play!"

Chakor nodded. They played the whole time.

Days passed

KN has refused to talk to Suraj, he was looking for a good man for Chakor. Suraj felt bad, but he had to live with it.

Chakor was in the garden trying to walk. Suraj saw her, how she was admiring the kids.

"Chakor?"

She turns and saw him. "Suraj I want to run!"

Suraj smiles. "Chakor it takes time to heal, please be careful!"

Chakor nods with a pout. "But it is not fair!" She fumes even more.

"I know, come on I will help you. We will do daily workout!" Suraj hits her with his elbow.

Chakor nods. "Haan then it won't be boring!"

Suraj nods to her. Both were walking together, they didn't talked to each other.

"Chakor you used to talk a lot, what happened? Did you lost your tongue?"

Chakor shook her head. "No Suraj, nothing like this. I don't know what to talk about!" She was walking with the crutches.

Suraj hold her hand. "Chakor I'm sorry! Because of me you are suffering!"

Chakor shook her head. "No Suraj, I'm sorry because of me Uncle isn't talking to you. He had missed you so much. He was so happy, when you sent the letter, that you are finally coming home, not because of the wedding. No, he was happy having his son back!"

Suraj looked down. "I have disappointed him. I don't want to stay here!"

Chakor nods. "Haan I heard it, but why? Suraj this village is beautiful and there are so many possibilities to get the best result for it!"

Suraj smiles. "Really? You wanna show me?"

Chakor nods with a big smile. "Haan Come!".
She forgot her handicap the pain was like gone forever. She shows him the dried fields. "Suraj with the right care here could be grain anything!"

She went further to a well. "This water here comes from an old lake. It's pure nature. It can be filtered extra and sold!"

She shows him the jungle. "Hunts aren't allowed, we prevent our jungle from intruders, we have to keep the animals save for the future environment!"

Suraj was amazed by her knowledge. "Papa showed you all this, right?" Chakor nods. "Haan he did once!"

Suraj knows it too. "Let's go home!"

Chakor nods. Both went slowly home, when Chakor saw the kids again. She throw the crutches away and starts to run. Suraj follows her as she falls down.

But Suraj hold her on time before she could hit the ground. "Chakor! Have you lost your mind. I told you it takes time, then why you run like this?"

Chakor felt bad. He was scolding her in front of everyone. 😭😭😭

Suraj carries her in his arms. "Chakor Shut Up!" She quietly closed her eyes. "I hate you!"

Suraj glares at her. "I don't care!" She pouts and turns her face away.

Suraj liked her cute way. "Aww it's okay I will share my chocolate with the other kids!"

Chakor widen her eyes. "What no! I'm the one you share your chocolate with no one else!"

Vivaan saw them coming. "Bhai what happen?"

KN and Teju come out. "Chakor?!"

"Nothing she throw her crutches away to run, but she fell. I could hold her on time!"

Chakor nods.

"Chakor you can't get hurt again. I found a man for you!"

Chakor frightens. "So fast?"

Even Suraj didn't liked it. "Haan so fast, she hardly can stand on her own!"

KN glares at them. "I'm not saying she is going to marry him now, just that I found a groom for her. The wedding will take place in one month. So till then you will care for yourself and health!"

Chakor nods. Uncle I will do as you wish.
Suraj placed her on her bed. "I will do some researches on him!"

Chakor shook her head. "Why? Uncle chose him for me. He will be great!"

Suraj nods. "True!" He covers her with the duvet and left the room.

He talked to Naina.

"Wonderful, after her marriage you can come back to me!"

Suraj shook his head. "Did you even hear what I said? I have to make sure all the works will be done. The dried field should bloom again. The water, this doesn't need to be sold, it can be used for the villagers for free they don't need to buy water from the city. And the jungle, it has to stay!"

"So you want to stay longer now! Will you ever return?"

"Why are you saying like this? Naina I will come and even if I won't come, you can come!"

"No way, I won't come to this village ever again!"

Suraj fumes. "It's my home!"

Naina could hear his anger out. "Sorry I didn't meant to hurt you!"

He cut the call in anger.

A month passed

The wedding function was going on, everything was ready besides the bride. He is 30 years old, ten years older than me. How will I handle this?

Suraj knocked on her door several times. "Chakor can I come in?"

Chakor didn't answered him. Suraj left from there to see if the groom side has arrived.

"Chakor isn't the daughter of KN, she was to be the DIL, but his son refused to marry her!"

Gossips were making their rounds unaware from Suraj.

Vivaan felt bad, he starts to fight with someone.

"Ahhhh!"

Vivaan was lying on the ground holding his stomach.

Suraj come to him. "Vivaan, ey why you did this?"

"He started first, how dare he to push me. I'm the groom! RV Singh"

Suraj looked at Vivaan. "Bhai they were talking wrong about Chakor and you!"

Suraj helped him up. "What is your problem? She is going to be your wife. How can you start to gossip on her character?" KN come and couldn't believe his ears.

"Suraj!" SuVaan turns to him. "Papa?"

RV come in front of them. "KN ji, your two son's are her friends, how can I trust you, that she hasn't done anything with them? One elder and one younger!"

Suraj slapped him. "How dare you? I will kill you!" Suraj started a fight with RV, the whole village was watching it. No one stopped him, as everyone knew Chakor.

Chakor comes down. "Suraj!" She stopped him. "What are you doing?"

RV looked at her. "Oh if I had seen your picture before I would never start with the gossip and marry you out for fun!"

Suraj was punching him in his face. "How dare you!" He kicked him and RV falls backwards. "Suraj!" He was stopped by the groom side. "We are leaving, I will find a better one than this cheap girl!"

They accused Chakor being a whore. "That is not true!" Suraj shouts and fumes in anger.

Chakor was broken. I don't wanted to marry him, but not to get defamed. Now no one will marry me...

Suraj saw her lowered head. Shit! What now?

KN couldn't believe it. All I was trying to was to help her. Now it's all ruined.

Suraj took her hand. "Come!" He pulls her with him. They were all looking at. "Priest start with the mantras. The wedding will take place!"

They all looked at him confused. "Suraj?" His mother come. "What are you saying?" Suraj took the turban and wear it on his head. "I said the wedding will take place!".
