Humdard

Pal, do pal, ki hi kyun hai zindagi
Iss, pyar ko hai, sadiyaan kaafi nahi
He stood there at bed and stared her lovingly as she turned her sides not being able to sleep peacefully. She missed something and he knew what. She missed him, holding her in his arms and just being there.
His lips curved in a smile as he watched her kiddish pout adoring her beautiful face. The strands of her hair waving in the air by the blow coming from the open French door.
He enjoyed the moment.
Toh khuda se maang lun
Mohalat main ik nayi
Her eyes fluttered open and in a state of subconsciousness her hand slowly wandered on the free space next to her to rest on his chest, to feel his soothing heartbeat.
Rehna hai bas yahaan
Ab door tujhse jaana nahi
She almost panicked upon not finding him there, next to her, with her. But not even a second passed and he was having his face beside her, holding her in comfort. She hugged him tightly closing her eyes. It was a mutual pact they'd never wake up alone.
Losing each other was their biggest fear.
Jo tu mera humdard hai
Jo tu mera humdard hai
Suhaana har dard hai
Jo tu mera humdard hai
That dance of her on bed with loud music. he stood at the door and watched her dancing on Bollywood songs. She was such a passionate dancer and liked to ruin the bed sheet and pillows. It didn't matter to him if the movements of her hips and feet were fumbled, to him she was perfect in her imperfect way.
He could only chuckle at her childishness, yet he admired her for her unique self.
He raised his brows in amusement as she took out a shirt of him and danced with it smiling having her eyes closed. He knew she was feeling him there, she was imagining him.
He was everything she needed.
Teri muskurahatein hain taaqat meri
Mujhko inhi se ummeed mili
He had a sip of his coffee but his permanent smile didn't disappear even for a second. That endless chatting of her when she was with him. Their every outing was a fresh start for both. She could talk like a news Reporter and he liked to listen to her, be it whatever topic. Cause it made her smile and her smile was his life.
Chaahe kare koi sitam ye jahaan
Inme hi hai sadaa hifaazat meri
He woke up in the middle of the night, having relived the moment his parents shot themselves. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
She gathered him into her arms and blandly rubbed his back. Just a look at her and even without words, her one smile assured him everything is alright. She is there for him.
Zindagani badi khoobsurat hui
Jannat ab aur kya hogi kahin
She stood there pouting, flaring her nose in anger.
He offered her a gift box which she threw away followed by a chocolate Box. Next was a roses bouquet which she stared at and looked at him who was on his knees holding his ears. She smiled now and kissed his head, nose and pout hugging him. He was her life.
Jo tu mera Humdard hai
Jo tu mera Humdard hai
Suhaana har dard hai
Jo tu mera Humdard hai
Laying in bed under the sheets, she kissed his chest and eyes. She always did that. It assured her he was hers only. And he loved to receive as many kisses from her as possible. He possessed her.
He closed his eyes as she trailed her finger above his temple towards his neck and continued southwards. Her finger halted at his stomach and with a devilish grin, she tickled him, making him burst in laughter.
She brought out the best in him.
Teri dhadkano se hai zindagi meri
Khwahishein teri ab duaaein meri
He was typing attentively at the keyboard with one hand and the other had a file in it. She twisted her lips in boredom and narrowed her eyes at him. So getting off the bed, she pulled the file out of his hands and ran out to the poolside with him following her. She laughed showing him a thumb.
His attention was her basic need.
Kitna anokha bandhan hai ye
Teri meri jaan jo ek hui
And both ended up falling in pool but hugged each other and laughed. She grinned looking at his file swimming on the water and bit her lip avoiding his glaring gaze which eventually turned into a smile soon. His world was with her only. She was his everything.
Lotunga yahaan tere paas main haan
Waada hai mera mar bhi jaaun kahin
She stood on recliner and wiped his hairs with a towel doing her masti and pulling his cheeks from behind. He turned and spooned her into his arms and took her to the bed. She pouted struggling but gave up her act as she finally kissed his cheek earning a Million Dollar smile from him.
Jo tu mera humdard hai
Jo tu mera humdard hai
Suhaana har dard hai
Jo tu mera humdard hai
She made faces in the camera taking selfies holding the stick and ran to him who was busy in gardening. She just climbed on his back and shot selfies putting her chin onto his head supporting herself with her one arm under his neck. He stared at her in the camera and raised his hand and put some soil on her tongue as she stretched it out. She gasped and looked at him in anger and licked his cheek giving that soil back to him. They shared a bond of true love.
hmmm.. humdard hai
hmmm.. humdard hai
hmmm.. humdard hai
hmmm.. humdard hai...
She laughed wholeheartedly as he swirled her in that mild moment when the sun meets water making the sky all red. Sunset was her favorite time at day. She loved to watch sunset and he took her wherever she wanted. His all time was dedicated to her.

'It's time.' He wipes off the drop of water falling out of his eye and looks up at the door where she's standing. His life. His everything. The only happiness left in his life.
He forces a smile on his lips as his eight years old shakes her head at him in disappointment. She walks up to her father sitting on the recliner and wipes both his cheeks with her hands.
'I know you miss her. I miss her too. But you remember we promised her we won't cry. Don't break your promise, else I'm afraid I'll be forced to tell her. And then you'll be in trouble.'
A chuckle escapes his mouth as he listens to her threat. She used to be so small and now, she's so grown up. She feels to have matured overnight.
'Really? Then why do you cry at nights, under your blanket?' Her smile drops at his accusation. But she gathers herself back again as he watches her attentively. He fears in his own sorrow he may not have recognised her pain. He wants to be there for his daughter, whenever she needs him.
'Oh silly, I'm her daughter. She loves me too much. More than you, yes, more than you Dad! Accept it! And she'll never be angry with me. She'll always love me, even if I break my promises. But you, my dear, are not her child. You're a grown up man with no genetic connection to my mother. She'll be hella angry if you, a mature man, break your promises. You know she doesn't forgive people who break their promises!'
The glint of naughtiness in her eyes and tone don't really relieve him. He's aware of his family constantly telling her to be brave and take care of her father. And he feels guilty. It's him who should behave responsible and not her.
'Baby, look, I know you're trying to be there for me, to cheer me up. But don't. You're just a eight years old and I'm your father. I'm the mature one of us both. Your mother will never forgive me if I act like a cry baby and force my child to behave beyond her age.'
She smiled and put her arms around his neck and pecked his cheek. He embraced her and caressed her hair.
'We both miss her, I wish she comes back. But she's punishing us. And I don't like this punishment. I promise, from now on, I won't act a spoilt brat and always listen to her.'
'I'm glad to hear.'
They pulled apart and looked towards the door. And then finally their faces lit up with excitement as Khushi walked in and stared at her husband and daughter with her arms crossed under her bosoms.
'Arshi got on the track. What about you, dearest hubby? Have you learnt your lesson or shall I just disappear for a week once again?'
'No. Khushi, please don't do that again. We can't live without you. I won't take you for granted anymore. And I'll take off from work more often and spend time with you both. But please don't leave us.'
Khushi narrowed her eyes at both the most important persons in her life as they stood holding each of her hands. She finally sighed and smiled nodding.
'Good. Now come here, I missed you two so much. And you, my baby, the most.'
She hugged them and kissed her daughter's forehead. One week in Lucknow, away from her husband and child was more a punishment for her than them.
'So you missed Arshi most, and me?'
'Accept it Daddy! She loves me more.'
And Khushi laughed at her daughter's outburst. She missed this game the father-daughter duo always play with each other. Obviously Arshi always won, cause he always let her.
'Duh!'
.

.
So you all probably thought Khushi is dead, isn't it? :D That was the plan originally but I just couldn't see how a child loses her mother. Both Arnav and Arshi need Khushi, and we all need Arshi to be always happy and together <3
