The cool air wipped around her hair as they sat on the sand of the beach in La Push. Harley, pulled her jacket closer to her body trying to keep what little warmth she had close to her body. "Couldn't have picked a warmer spot?" She said, teeth chattering and lips turning blue.
"I need to be in a large space." Paul replied with a shrug. In all honesty, he was terrified that he would get too mad, phase and hurt her. Harley was the last person that he wanted to hurt.
"S-So what is it? T-The imprint?" Harley asked, pulling the hood of her jacket up trying to tame her wild hair. Paul looked at her, his eyes searching hers. He didn't know what he was searching for, but he was sure it had something to do with the fact he missed the intensity of her beautiful blue orbs.
"An imprint is... well its a soulmate." Paul said, looking away from her captivating eyes and to the rough ocean in front of them. "But its stronger than that, there's a bond between us, an invisible one. And if we're away for too long, the bond becomes thinner, and it starts to kill you. When a wolf finds his imprint, they feel the need to be with them all the time, no amount of time could ever be enough for them, it's the most amazing feeling in the world when you find your imprint." He explained, a ghost of a smile on his lips.
Harley looked up at Paul, through her long dark lashes. "And I'm your imprint?" She asked, her voice smooth and quiet. Paul looked down at her and nodded.
The sky had started to darken quickly, the waves grew larger and the tide came further in. "You should go back home." Paul said quietly, he didn't really want her to leave.
Sighing, Harley stood up and brushed all the sand off her pants. She stood in front of him with a small smile, "Walk me?" Paul smiled slightly and stood up himself.
The two walked through the lush green forest, Pauls large warm arm drapped across her shoulder for warmth. When they came to the treaty line, Harley sighed. Paul looked down at her before squeezing his eyes shut.
"You're not leaving, right?" Paul asked, his voice wavering slightly, Paul was scared this was all a dream, one that he'd wake up from and find her not there.
Harley looked up to the man before her, never had he looked like a child, but right now, in this moment Paul looked like a young child who just lost his most favorite toy. Harley wrapped her arms around his neck tightly while his instantly went to her waist, the both unintentionally squeezed each other a little tighter.
"I'm not going anywhere." She reassured.
Harley finally walked back into the Cullen house, a large smile on her face. Jasper could feel his daughters happiness before he could see her. "So, how did it go?" Esme asked sweetly.
It had been a long time since anyone in the family had seen their youngest family member smile. "It went better than I thought it would." She answered truthfully before heading to the stairs and back up to her room.
The family all shared looks, smiling. Alice grabbed Jaspers hand, and led him upstairs to Harley's room. Raising her hand to knock, they were both shocked to hear Harley say, "Come in." Before Alice could even knock.
"Hey." Alice said, cooling down her bubbly personality so she could have a serious conversion with her daughter. "How was it? I can't see anything when your with him." She said, sitting down on the bed with Harley.
"It was.." Harley trailed off looking up to her dad. "It answered a lot of questions." She said softly, Alice smiled and pulled Harley in for a hug. The two were leaving the room, leaving the girl to sleep when they heard something they haven't in a long time.
"Mom? Dad? I love you guys so much."

Paul walked back to Emily and Sam's house, throwing himself onto the couch. "So?" Emily asked excited. Paul tried to hide his smile, but simply failed.
"I'm going to see if she wants to come over tomorrow okay? Chill." He laughed, Emily squealed excitedly before running off to the kitchen.
Paul ran his hands over his face before leaning back into the couch. A smile, sketched onto his face.
She was finally home.
