This is for GuildOfGraphics contest where you redo a old cover. So, I dug deep into the trash and horribleness that will forever scar me, and I found my oldest cover.

It was a teen-fictionish cover for a book I was thinking about at the time.

So, here is the old cover..(it's enlarged though)

*screams of terror *

And here is the new one...

I kept the purple theme from before (the purple feather, font, birds... ), the girl has her legs bent, I used the same birds in the cover, the new title is from the old subtitle, and it looks so much better considering that I barely practice this genre.

Three things I learned from designing

1. Patience is key.

Seriously, I used to have such a short attention span. I tried making stuff like this in minutes, and it failed. I know some can do this in a short amount of time, but if you are me, it takes a lot of time. Hours...

2. Pngs are cool and helpful, but not for everything.

Some are useable, and I still use them, but not for everything. Stocks are usually better quality or have something that fits the cover better.

3. Author name placement

Yep. Sometimes it is hard, and I still have some difficulty with it.

1. How to place subtitles correctly

Even though I have a subtitle here, I still hate subtitles. Subtitle placement is hard. You have to make it small enough but has to be seen. Then, it can't take away from the cover itself....

2. How to erase well.

I believe this is pretty self explanatory
