Chapter 11

"Bye guys!" Norman called over his shoulder as he disappeared into the air vents once more. It was closing in on noon and he still couldn't find his apartment. He had found Mel's though. The pug and his friends Buddy and Sweetpea were running towards the vent opening right now, shouting something to the young guinea pig. Norman couldn't tell what they were saying though as he took a left turn.

"It's gotta be around here somewhere..." Norman murmured quietly, reaching another intersection. He could either go straight, left or right. Or he could turn back. Pondering over his choices for a little bit, he finally decided to go straight. Wandering through the dark tunnels of the air vents, he became lost in his thoughts. And his thoughts were all over the place as he started thinking about all kinds of random things. Sighing softly as his mind thought about food, Norman mumbled, "I could really use some celery right now." Taking a right turn at the next intersection he came across, the young guinea pig hoped that he would find his apartment sometime soon.

"Three, two, one," Tiberius muttered quietly to himself. Tipping a bucket full of ice cold water, he watched in delight as it splashed down on his unsuspecting victims below. Soaking wet and freezing cold, the hairless cat Ozone and his close friend Nitro yowled in terror. Tipping his head back, Ozone hissed angrily, "You'll pay for that!" He found himself shouting at no one though. A bucket sat upon the building next to them, alone. The culprit had gotten away.

"Well, that was fun," Tiberius remarked quietly to himself, soaring on the wind effortlessly. He glided over the many buildings in downtown Manhattan. Breathing in the fresh air, the old red tailed hawk sighed. It was great being a bird. Coasting around the Chrysler Building, he headed for Central Park. Upon arriving though, a bad feeling crawled up his spine. Landing, he discovered two dead squirrels, both savagely killed but not eaten. Knowing it was a disrespectful act killing without reason, Tiberius ate the two. All the while, he wondered who or what could've possibly done this.
