PROLOGUE

A group of four boys were struggling to get dressed, one was stuck in his pair of grey and black skinny jeans since the little brunette accidentally put both of his legs in one pant.
The small dinosaur child had put two eyepatches on to see what it would look like but in the attempt of taking it off he had realised that they had both tangled at the back.
The youngest of the four had successfully gotten into his squirrel onesie, unfortunately he could not reach the zipper on the back.
Last but not least, the raven haired boy whom was having difficulties with his shirt, his arms getting twisted while he attempted to fit into his white, and purple tee.

"Do we really have to meet the guest Auntie Crystal? Why can't we just stay here and play Minecraft?" The black haired boy asked, his words growing muffled by the fabric of his shirt, making it seem almost impossible to decipher.
The brunette groaned in agreement, now getting his leg out of the same pant, and attempting to shove it into the other one, not noticing he was putting it on backwards.

"Because Jin, you, and the others need to talk to other people, you can't just spend all of your hours playing Minecraft. Maybe you can with the guest." Crystal answered.
"Now, let me help you boys." She started by helping her son, Sky put on his pants right, she pulled the zipper up for little Ross whom cheered happily at the comfortable feeling of his onesie.
She went to untangle the eyepatches off of Barney's head, the ends fluttering in the air before letting him put on one by himself, supervising to see if he needed help.
Then she got the shirt off of Jin, and guided him to where he would put his arms in, slipping into the tee easily.

"Put on your little finishing touchings boys! I need to finish getting prepped downstairs." Crystal ordered lightheartedly, grinning from the excitement, she started bounding down the stairs while humming jingle bells to get to the kitchen to take the baked potatoes out of the oven until she heard the doorbell ring.
"They're here!" She squealed, alerting the other parents, Felicia, Ross' mother with Mackenzie, her wife, Sam, Barney's dad, and Andy, Jin's parent.

"I'll go get the potatoes Crystal, you get the door." Felicia yelled across the first floor, rushing to get to the kitchen, almost tripping over Sam's backpack, luckily she was caught by Mackenzie last second.
"Thank you." Crystal called back to her, sprinting to the entrance to greet their childhood friend. "Be careful sweetheart, we don't want your arm broken again." Mackenzie warned her wife, helping her up.

"Of course I will, I just need to get the potatoes." Felicia said, ready to run into the kitchen until she saw Sam walk out with the tray in his arms, gloves securely gripping the glass dish.
"I've got it." He announced to the small group. Meanwhile Crystal opened the door, and met her gaze with hazel eyes, she squealed, and lurched forward, tightly wrapping her arms around the female, the other reciprocated the hug gladly.

"Jade, it's been too long." Crystal greeted her with a wide grin, breaking away from the hug, and taking a step back .
"I couldn't agree more with you Crystal." Jade retorted, picking up a purple grocery bag from the floor and adjusting it over her shoulder. That was when Crystal noticed a small little girl that looked identical to her childhood friend.
Her hazel orbs looked at her innocently with her head tilted like a puppy. She smiled warmly and kneeled down to the little girl's height.

"Now, who might this be?" Sky's mother asked, glancing up at the Hispanic for an answer, "That's Jessica, my daughter, Jess this is an old friend of mine, her name is Crystal." The mother introduced them both to each other, "Jessica? That's a pretty name." She complimented, ruffling the small girl's hair fondly.

"Say thank you Jessie." Jade coaxed her five year old to speak with a fond smile that the little girl couldn't see.

"T-thank you miss Crystal." Jessica obliged, keeping her hands close to her chest as she glanced around, peering her head a little forward to catch a glimpse of the house. Curious hazel eyes roamed the sight of the entrance.

"Don't worry, she's a little shy but after she gets comfortable she'll be very energetic." Jade comforted Crystal who looked at the 5 year old while biting her nails. The host has a moment of realisation and scratches the back of her neck while laughing nervously.
"Sorry for keeping you at the door, come in and make yourselves at home." She apologises, stepping aside to let the two into the large house.

The first thing that drew Jessica's attention was how big the space was, the chandelier that hung from the tall ceiling got her first few seconds of sight before looking to see a pair of small white couches and tables, a coatrack was stood next to her, almost startling her.
What grabbed her curiosity was the entrance to another area of the house where the sound of people laughing came from. Crystal weaved her arm underneath the handle of one of the bags Jade brought and led them both into the living room. "Sorry its a bit of a mess, the boys needed help getting dressed."

The living room wasn't as tall as the main entrance but what made up for the lack of height was the beautiful wall art of starry night on the far wall, black large couches stretched the length of the room facing the huge flat screen tv that was mounted on a plain light grey wall.
The expanse of the room was littered with purses, backpacks, and everything in between. A head poked out of what seemed was the kitchen.

"Hey Crystal, I need a little help with the chicken! It's stuck to the pan!" A person cried out before a metal clang rang out across the house, the person turned back to look at something or someone out of Jessica's sight before screeching. "No! Put that down Sam!"

"Crap, give me a second J." Crystal excused herself, letting the things she was carrying to slide off of her arms and onto the floor easily.
"Coming Andy!" She yelled back before sprinting into the kitchen. Jade turned to Jessica. "How do you like auntie Crystal?" She asked, putting her bags down.

"She's nice!" The five year old exclaimed, looking around in naive wonder. She wandered around, eventually getting to a large glass wall that showed outside where there was a beach facing them.

Her eyes trailed up to sky which was turning in a sunset. The pinks, oranges and yellows were mixing together with the dark blues and purples of the night, it looked straight out of a painting. She stumbles over to the transparent wall, putting her hands on it as if she could touch the sun with her grubby fingers.

In her trance she failed to notice the other parents file into the room behind her, "Jessica!" Her mother called out for her which snapped her out of the sight and turned to her mom, running to her legs and hugging them fiercely.

She heard a few people squealing at the sight of her and she looked up to see Ms. Crystal in all her beauty. She had tan skin with black and grey shirt, pants and converse on, a golden ring with an amethyst had its home on her finger, indicating she was married. Her brown hair was tied up into a messy bun, some curls escaping and framing her face and showing off her chocolate coloured eyes.

There were other people there, a pale woman with a grey and baby blue sleeveless dress matched with dark grey flats, she had hazel eyes like her and white hair. She was being lovingly held by another, lightly tanned, green eyed woman who wore a white shirt and a brown leather jacket on top, a gold necklace with a green gem sat on her neck, she had jeans and black combat boots on. She had shoulder length dark brown hair. The first woman had a rainbow heart tattoo on her shoulder.

There was a purple dinosaur looking man with green accessories, he was black haired and had brown eyes, a pink, white and light blue tattoo on his wrist.
Finally, there was a person who had their hair very short, jacksepticeye style and eyed in a cyan blue color. Their eyebrows were black with ear piercings, a white and purple long-sleeve shirt and medium length black jeans, a yellow, white, purple, and black flag on their neck.

"These are my old childhood friends mija, you've already met Crystal." Jade started to introduce, Crystal saved with an exited smile.
"Hi!" She exclaimed, waving exitedly at the small child that only reached her mid-thigh.
"This is Felicia with her wife Mackenzie." Her mum continued. "Hello cutie." They both said in perfect unison before turning towards each other, Felicia giggled before Mackenzie pulled her into a quick kiss.
"This is Sam." The dinosaur smiled warmly. "Sup." He greeted. "And last but not least, Andy."
"Howdy." Andy joked in a low voice, they kneeled down and winked at Jessica. The small girl grinned and jumped into Andy's arms and cheering as she gets picked up.

Meanwhile this happened, upstairs the boys were a disaster. Even if they had already gotten help to get dressed they didn't have the height to reach a few things they needed in the bathroom.
"Screw it, if we keep doing this we're gonna take too lowng." Ross pouted, crossing his arms and giving up at getting a towel after getting drenched in water from when he walked into the table and tipped the glass of water on top, effectively spilling it all over himself.

"Couldn't agree more Woss." Jin agreed, combing through his black hair with his small fingers. "Lets go." He gave up after reaching a particular nasty knot that he couldn't get rid of for the life of him.

A mischievous smirk made its way onto Sky's face as he opened the door and cried out. "Last one down is a rotten egg!" He then started to fly down the stairs, his small baby legs making it hard for him to run.
"Hey!" Jin protested before shooting behind him. "You dirts!" Barney yelled before jumping into the race. "Oh my Irene, guys!" Ross looked down at the stairs.

It looked menacing to the youngest and he took a shaky step forward, trying to keep his balance before his onesie made him slip and start falling down, screaming all the while.
This made the other three look back before starting to get down before they're caught in the mess, Barney was the first to get stuck with Ross, his screams mixing in with the youngest's. Jin was second, and then Sky.
The chorus of fear attracted the attention of the adults and Jessica who looked up to see the mass of boys her age before diving out of the way by instinct.

The ball of young kids hit the floor hard, and were immediatley thrown into a pile the second they made contact with the floor, they groaned in pain at the harsh landing with the floorboards.
Sky looked like he was being suffocated at the very bottom of the other three, Barney looked fine while he tried to get out, Jin was slightly dizzy but otherwise fine. Ross though; looked green as hell, he rolled off of Jin who crawled off of the dinosaur.
Barney adjusted his eyepatch and scooted off of Sky who had been clawing at the floor to get out, his face almost as purple as his amulet.

While they all caught their breath a small, shy voice broke the silence in the air. "Are you okay?" Jessica asked the boys, her shoulders hunched over in a vulnerable position.

The boys started to blush in embarrassment at the fact that they didn't notice her and made fools of themselves in front of her. Sky and Jessica locked eyes with each other for a while, unconsciously turning redder every second.

The doorbell snapped them out of their trance and they looked at anything but each other, Jin noticed this and nudged the brown haired boy with a small smirk, catching Barney's attention who did the same thing.
Ross meanwhile looked at the entire exchange and shook his head, "cooties." He mumbled under his breath.

They went over to the door where they saw another group of adults who were already filing in, accompanied with another group of children. The parents were talking about Jessica and how cute she was while talking with Jade, making the small girl blush. The boys went over to the other group and started fist bumping them and greeting each other.

"Hey guys, Max." Sky greeted with a small grin, he fist bumped a redhead who had similiar clothes on as him, Max smirked.
"Cousin Shelby!" Ross exclaimed before jumping into another redhead's arms who had a very white and grey clothes style, Shelby hugged back.
Barney went to the last redhead and put an arm over his shoulder, "Hey Red's." He said in a heavy Turkish accent, Red shyly waved back.
Jin went to a brunnette who did a strange hand shake with him. "Sup Nick." He casually greeted.

Jessica didn't know anyone and stayed with the adults, Shelby walked over to her with childish curiosity. "Hi, I'm Shelby but most of the gwuys call me Shubble."
She introduced herself, "I-I'm Jessica." She returned the gesture, the redhead hugged the black haired girl who froze up before hugging back.

"Come on, I'll show you to the others." Shelby said, grabbing her hand and dragging her to the other children, Jessica looked at her mother desperately to get her out of the situation but she shook her head and mouthed "you need to make friends."

The small glare coming from the toddler made her coo.

"Guys! We got a new gal in the group." She turns to the shy latina who shied away at the attention she was getting, Shelby steps aside and makes jazz hands. "Jessica!" She introduced dramatically, Jess burrows her face into her oversized jacket sleeves in embarrassment, she peeks up from her position and whispers "H-hi." Before going back in her safe place, flipping on the hoodie.

"Hi Jess, I'm Adam but I like to be called Sky." Adam introduces himself before turning to the rest of the group. "That's Max, his nickname is Mithzan." He points towards the first redhead, "Yo." said boy greets.

"That's Red the dinosaur." He aims his finger to the other redhead who shrinks back and shyly waves before being squished in a side hug. "I'm Barney's!" The purple dinosaur exclaimed, not noticing how he was choking Red.

A boy rushes up and starts pulling on his arm to alert him of what he was doing, "The narwhal is Ross." Ross freezes before screeching "I'm a squirrel!"

"Come on boys, time for dinner!" Jade, Jessica's mum called out, holding a frying pan and banging it with a wooden spoon.
Jess bolts for the table, knowing that food was ready however the other littles stood confused. They glanced at each other before following Jess to the adults.

"Hey, don't push me." Max playfully pouted, trying to get ahead. Shubble grins and starts forward, making Max trip and fall into Barney and Sky.
"Max!" They both groaned, having to catch him before they could kissed the floor.

Laughing echoed through the trio and they all snapped their heads towards Red, Nick and Jin who'd all started giggling. "Ha, you got tripped by a girl." Nick jabbed, dodging them and picking up the pace.
Max's face reddened before he lets out a cute growl, pushing the other two off before chasing the brunette.

A pair of hands grabbed the back of Nick's shirt, turning around to see it was Shubble and Jess. He tilted his head in confusion, both girls give him an innocent grin before stepping aside, letting Max tackle the boy.
While Nick cried out and tried to escape, the girls turned and walked to the table, crawling up a chair and sitting down, sharing one.

"Are you serious Max?" Ross asked, rolling his eyes before joining Red. Felicia, Ross' mum seemed to share the sentiment, "Boys, let's not fight." She scolded, separating both children and picking them up, placing them on either side of her hip.

Felicia plops Nick down on a chair where Barney was already sat for them to share before turning on her heel and depositing Max with Jin.

Sky pouted, seeing that he was alone and didn't have a chair buddy. "Come on Sky, sit over here." Andy offered, patting the one between them and Barney and Red.

The amulet wearing boy's eyes lit up, knowing that Andy was the coolest. He bit his lip before taking a running start, almost completely missing the chair.
Barney starts laughing, "Come on Skys, you can do it." He encourages, slinging an arm around Nick whom tried to stifle his laughter by slamming his hands over his lips.

"Alright, I can do this, I can do this." He hypes himself up before jumping again, only to slam into the side and having it take all the wind out of him. He falls to the ground, groaning.

Before Andy could move and get Sky Sam swoops in, taking the little boy in his arms and sitting him in the chair. "You okays?" He asks.
Sky takes a deep breath and nods, squeezing his eyes as he recovers from the hit.

Mackenzie meets eyes with Crystal who seemed okay with it before relaxing. "Okay, who wants chicken?" Mackenzie yells, catching everyone's attention.
All of the children raise their hands except for Jessica who looks around shyly, not knowing what to do before following the crowd and shakily raising a hand.

Conversations spread and food starts being distributed, the boys were having an immense argument over who could climb the tallest tree while the girls giggled at the display.

"I could climb the tallest mountain because of my muscles." Max boasts, kissing his bicep which made a chorus of disgusting noises erupt from all over the table. "What?!"

Jim seems to snort, commenting. "You could never in 10 years climb Mount Everest."

    "I bet I could!"

"No you wouldn't, Mount watchamicallit is like, huge! Only I could get up there." Sky starts to inflate his own ego.

"Nos you idiots, I have the turskish charms." Barney flicked Sky upside the head. "I bet I could do it cause I'm a squirrel." Ross mumbles, crossing his arms making Red raise an eyebrow.

"Whatever." Max rolls his eyes before reaching over to grab the last drumstick. However, Jin slams a hand over his, making it crash into the table.

Max winces at the harsh hit with the wood before glaring at the purple wearing emo boy. "What gives?" He questions, snatching his hand back and cradling it.

Jin ignored the question, trying to get the last piece of chicken. A small redhead body comes out of nowhere, knocking him off of the chair.

"Thats my chicken!" Shubble exclaims, roughousing, suddenly, a pale hand reaches out and drags Max into the frey.

Sky seems to perk up and lunge for the food, he gets pulled back by his pants and thrown down. He looks up in horror to see Barney and Nick about to jump on top of him.

The grunts and screams of both fights echoed theough the room but the adults paid no mind. Ross and Red join Shubble since they're not hungry but they're bored since their only entertainment is being beaten to a pulp.

Jessica seemed to be the only one at the table, peacefully sitting and watching as th two fights unknowingly merged and it became an all out brawl. She leaned her chubby face on her grubby hands before looking at the remaining drumstick.
Jess reached out, grabbing it and taking a bite. The others didn't seem to realise until Nick pointed it out.
"Hey!" He cried out, being chokeholded by Shelby while smacking Red with one of his hands.

The fight seemed to freeze, watching as Jess finished off the last of the chicken and leaving the bone on her plate.
A series of groans and "come on"s came from the group as the raven haired girl happily got out of her chair and skipped over to the others.

Jin, eyeing the adults, asjusts his vest and smooths out his hair. Sky seems to get what he meant and whispers. "Come on, its our chance."
Ross cheers loudly before his mouth was covered by both Barney and Max's hands. "To what?" Jess whispers back.

The group eyes her as if she just grew a head. "Go play Minecraft." Red explains, cupping his hand to speak directly into her ear.

Jess' eyes seem to sparkle at his answer. "Lets go."
