"We're never going to find her at this rate. Come out Obsidian! It's time to go! Queen Ruby wants us in the courtyard!" Obsidian heard Inferno's voice echo off the gem covered cavern walls. Inferno was right, for once, they was never going to find Obsidian hiding on the ceiling! Ha, she had outsmarted them again! She saw Inferno poke his head in the cave entrance. Obsidian changed her position and lost her grip on her perch. She fell on top of a pile of amethysts crystals.

"YOWWWW!" Obsidian roared. Pain shot through her neck as the crystals became lodged in between her scales.

"You look kinda like Queen Ruby, not that that's a compliment or anything," Inferno was right, again, she did look a little like the new SkyWing Queen.

"Will you get these out of my scales already!" Obsidian boomed. Three more SkyWings rushed in to help. Inferno, Tornado, Raptor, and Wildfire sat around Obsidian and started pulling out the bloodied crystals.Yelps of pain echoed through the cavern as each crystal was removed. Finally, Obsidian was free from the gems and quickly burst out of the cavern.

"Catch me if you can!" she yelled. She started zig-zagging around the mountain tops, trying to get the gang dizzy. She eventually became lost herself and couldn't find her friends or the palace. She was searching for a sign of life when she heard a giggle from one of the caves in the mountain.

"Shut up!" she heard a whispered voice demand. It sounded like Raptor. Could it be? Her own friends hiding from her? It wasn't unusual, but two can play at that game. So she snuck over to the place where she heard the voice and shot a jet of flame right next to Tornado's silly little snout.

"Ah!" she heard Tornado cry. She burst out laughing and almost fell right out the sky.

"OBSIDIAN!" the gang roared in unison. They burst out of their hiding spot and chased the startled Obsidian all the way back to the palace where Queen Ruby's announcement was just starting.

"Fellow SkyWings, I am here to announce that in five days time we shall be traveling to the SandWing palace to celebrate the War Ending Ceremony!" The crowd cheered.

"Yes, exciting isn't it? We will-" a guard came up to the Queen and whispered something into her ear. Ruby nodded, then she gestured behind her. A SkyWing walked out from the palace. She had smoke rising from her body. Everyone knew who she was. Peril. She was born with too much fire, now she burns anything she touches. She walked out to where Ruby was and the Queen stepped back.

"I have heard news, for I am friends with the Dragons of Destiny," at this, some dragons in the crowd gasped, "yes, and I have been informed of a challenge for all dragonets," Obsidian and her friends perked up, "The Destiny Games! Here, young dragonets will compete to win an enrollment in the new Jade Mountain Academy! Only six will win, so get training!"

Obsidian smiled evilly, "We're gonna win this guys, no matter what it takes."
