Name Reason

It's just a word play on "Luminant"

Abilities

They basically just glow in the dark, (from their Cheeks, which can be any pattern, their chest fluff, and their paw beans!) they can semi control their glowing (if they are in the dark, they have to glow at least a little.)

They are also the main producers of light (other than the sun) in their world, they can make light (in their glow color) and contain it into a jar usually, to be shipped off and sold.

How are they named?

Anything that has to do with their color really, or things to do with light.

Lifespan

It's usually from 40-70 years, but some have been recorded to live longer.

Who do they live alongside with?

They live with their subspecies, but treat themselves better (see in my not WoF oc book- in the Info chapter it shows the subspecies because I'm too lazy to put them all here :) )

Royals?

The Luminae are actually the royal species in this world, that's why they are very rare. since there are few of them, a lot of interbreeding happens (which doesn't effect the children, thankfully) they are trying to boost their numbers, and make some that aren't related to royalty. (Like, make some that would be commoners, so not as many blood related royals have to work as Light-Crafters.)

Culture

Purebred Luminae that have a child with a subspecies will not be tolerated, the child would either be eliminated or taken to be a light slave. (To work in a prison-like place and produce the light into jars.) the royal Luminae keep this under reps, not wanting the subspecies or the non royal Luminae to know. Holidays and Celebrations will be in a different category.

Holidays/Celebrations

~Festival of Light~

This celebration takes place in the capital of the kingdom. A month before the celebration, extra light is made for this festival. The Main Market (the main chain of stores/booths in the capital) sells mainly "fireworks" for the whole day. Then at midnight, everyone sets of their Lightworks, (what i call the light fireworks :3) they do this to celebrate the Luminae ancestors and the hard working Light-Crafters (the workers that aren't slaved that make light.) This takes place in the middle of winter, when the light shines brightest. Subspecies are welcome to attend this event as well. The entire celebration lasts a week, with almost everyone off of work except bars and such.

They have other things, like days off from work and such, like in the real world :P

Coloring

They can be any color under the rainbow except for pure black, only Direct Royal Luminae can have some pure black in their design. (No Luminae's main color can't be black! No matter their relation!)

Jewelry

Yes, luminae can have jewelry. Direct royalty usually have at least one peice of jewelry. (You can have up to three peices, it could be three earnings, or two necklaces and an earring, I think you get it lol.)

It is rare for Commoner Luminae to have jewelry, because it is rather expensive. (You can only have one piece, every once in a while I'll let someone have two :3.)

Appearance
(I'll make a base for them, and make it a different chapter, but for now, have nebbie :3.)

What direct royalty looks like:

Direct royalty have the ear tufts, can have some pure black in their design, and have exactly one stripe that goes down their face on both sides from their eyes.

What Commoners look like:
(Please for my sake just imagine one without the tufts and stripes down the eyes ;-;)

Other

Your oc can not be directly related to royalty unless I have said so! (Ex. In an adopt, it says that the Luminae is direct royalty, as in a distant cousin, prince, princess etc.)

Commoners also can not have the stripes that go down from their eyes, nor the ear tufts (because obvious reasons....)

Their blood also glows :3

Mutations

(If you want a mutation I will use a random number generator to decide which it will have! I'm doing this so everyone doesn't pick one mutation =_=)
Sometimes they can have mutations, (due to the interbreeding between relatives, and other factors.)
Which can be: (listed from most common to rarest.)

Extra teeth, leading to some sticking out of their mouth (Generator no. 3,6,7,9,11,12)

Second Set of eyes, they can control these as they can the others! (Generator no. 1,2,4,10)

Second Tail, they can control this tail as well as the other! (Generator no. 5,8)
