Before I begin I'm just going to put this disclaimer. I in no way own the idea of this book. It belongs to Neal Shusterman, my favorite author in the whole world. I loved this series so much that I just had to make a role play for it. It isn't going to take place with the book characters because you know that would be a major spoiler. This RP is for OC's only. It is going to take place from the very beginning. If you sign up for this RP I highly suggest that you read the series! They are amazing and awesome, but dark. Very dark. Hence the cover of the book.

The second Civil War was fought over reproductive rights. The chilling resolution: Life is inviolable from the moment of conception until the age of thirteen. Between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, however, parents can have their child "unwound," whereby all of the child's organs are transplanted into different donors, so life doesn't technically end. (Neal Shusterman).

Your a teen.

You come home to find out that your parents or guardian signed the paper to have you unwound. You wonder why. Did you get into too many fights? Were your grades not high enough? Were you terrible at sports? Is your house to crowded? Or you weren't their child to begin with. Maybe your parents favorite child needed a new heart and you were the closest match. Your terrified. You don't want to go to a harvest camp to be divided and spread across the world. The Juvies will be coming to take you away the next morning. As of now you are no longer considered a human, only parts for other people that were deemed more worthy to have them. Fearing there is no other option you run...

You have no real home. The only home you have ever known is a state home. Times are tough and you find out that they are making cuts to stay within their budget. The residents of the state home are put through a series of tests that prove their athletic abilities as well as their talents. After taking the tests. You find out that you didn't make the cut and you're going to be sent to a harvest camp. There's no fighting it. You we're good enough to be kept as a single being so their sending you to become part of someone great. How will you escape...

You are a tithe. Raised to want to be unwound. Your parts will be used as a gift to God to help someone else who needs them more than you do. You do not fear unwinding as you were brought up to believe it was the ultimate blessing to be tithed. On your tithing day, however, something goes wrong and your thrown into a situation you can't even begin to imagine. Maybe you start to change your mind and don't want to be unwound after all, but maybe it's too late...

Helpful Terms

Unwinding - The process by which an individual is taken apart. By law, 99% of a person must be used and the patient MUST by kept alive/awake during the operation.

Storking - when a mother doesn't want to keep a newborn baby, she has the legal option to leave the baby on someone else's doorstep. The baby then becomes the legal responsibility of the people who love there.

Divided State - When a person is unwound they are considered to still be alive, but in this state.

Harvest Camps - Licensed facilities in which Unwinds are prepared to be divided, Many of these camps care well for their unwinds.

Clappers - Terrorist that have made their blood explosive with an undetectable chemical. They blow up when they clap their hands together.

Juvies - Law enforcement officers who work for the National Juvenile Authority and are responsible for the policing of Unwinds.

Tithe - This is a child designated from birth for unwinding, usually for religious reasons.

AWOL - runaway unwind.  

Parts Pirate -  like Juvies they collect runaway unwinds, but instead of bringing them to harvest camps they either preform the procedure themselves or sell the whole body to the black market.
