I didn't have an objective while I was working on Original Poems 2024. As such, the poems jump around from topic to topic with varying presentations, but as I was writing I came to realize that I had basically written all of my poems into five different themes. These groups will probably change in the final publication, but as of right now, here are the five themes:

Symbolic
Depressing
Rebellious
Confessional
Past

All of my poems can be triggering and were designed to be read by a mature audience. Please proceed with caution and enjoy the poetry. Note that at this time I have not included hyperlinks as that will be cumbersome. If there's a lot of traction on this page, I'll work on adding hyperlinks later.

Here are the loose themes in greater detail.

Symbolic: Works that use heavy metaphors and analogies to discuss a topic. At times the poem makes no effort to reveal what I am talking about and that is by design. Fan of image heavy, weird, and narrative poems may enjoy works from this list.

Depressing: Works that are either dour or intense. Many of these poems focus on suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, self harm, and a general feeling of hopelessness. Many of these poems also attempt to provide hope despite the world's cruelty so this may end up being somewhat of a mixed reading experience. However, I do maintain that these poems are best read when one is already in a bad mood.

Rebellious: Poems that speak out against injustice. Many of these poems focus on US politics, corporate greed, and religious trauma. Several of these poems were written primarily as raps and it's a collection full of anger.

Confessional: These poems are about me and while it's probably embarrassing to admit that some these are in fact autobiographical, they are not all 100% accurate to my lived experience. As these poems discuss my life, they are cover many topics of abuse and also discuss poverty, mental health problems including suicidal ideation and eating disorders, as well as some sexual content. These are the poems that I had to rewire my brain to write and I hope that they provide some entertainment, but they've definitely helped me process my life.

Past: These poems represent poetic versions of events in my life or reflections on my past. As many of these pomes talk about similar themes as the Confessional poems, many will deal with difficult topics like suicidal ideation and abuse. As is the case with my Confessional poems, I took some liberties here and there, explaining some events through celestial intervention or extended metaphor.

All poems are listed in the order of publication for your convenience. Readers interested in reading about a certain topic can use this list to find works that appeal to them. As this list was taken from my master list used for publication, some poems listed may not be published. If this happens, please let me know, so I can remove that poem. Thank you.

Symbolic: Works that use heavy metaphors and analogies to discuss a topic. At times the poem makes no effort to reveal what I am talking about and that is by design. Fan of image heavy, weird, and narrative poems may enjoy works from this list.

Untitled Part 113

Past: These poems represent poetic versions of events in my life or reflections on my past. As many of these pomes talk about similar themes as the Confessional poems, many will deal with difficult topics like suicidal ideation and abuse. As is the case with my Confessional poems, I took some liberties here and there, explaining some events through celestial intervention or extended metaphor.

Readers interested in my past should probably start with "I Wasn't Hurt" which discusses my earliest known memory, an incident of sexual assault. This poem is in an older collection, and can be found here:

I will not be reordering the poems for this collection. These groups may represent the poem categories in my book, which will hopefully be coming out later in 2025. The book at that time will have additional poems and a reading order designed to go from abstract to personal.

Thank you all for your support in 2024 and in the future. As an extra treat, here is a rejected cover for this collection:
