the travels I troubled the news scans I bubbled
with bluebirds and emotes spoke nothing to power
save the carbon we squandered
and borrowed
interest with no regrets so that insects below
their last instar went far from home
but never to loam only soil baked dry
from a boil

of a blue world
gone to flames
never they sold souls
with any shame

in the jungle of life and death past the city where angels rest
they wings
get sold for seven-seventy by the offramp of congealed
dreams

and the paper
drags up over knobs
where the elbows
can't extend to defend
