Elijah

He hadn't slept that night due to excitement coursing through his veins about finally meeting his niece and nephew. Niklaus's daughter and Rebekak's son.

They lived together in Italy while his daughter Seraphina, lived in Spain.

All three of the children had been left with well off families like the Mikaelsons.

He along with, Rebekah, Kol and Niklaus had arrived at Italy a few days before the start of school after winter break.

He was teaching at the school as the history teacher and Niklaus was taking over the position of teaching art.

Elijah and Niklaus had already looked over what they would be teaching. It was extremely basic.

He was currently leaning against the rails of his room's balcony letting memories of Seraphina invade his mind.

He'd had to leave her when she was four years old. But he got lucky.

Rebekah had to leave Jacob. Or as his adoptive parents renamed him, Rafael, when he was 2 years old.

Niklaus was unluckiest. He had to leave Ilaria or as she was more known, Isabella, when she was 10 months old.

Elijah remembered how she'd yell for someone to pick her up and spin her around. Then you had to spin her 3 times or else she wouldn't talk to you for the entire day. Then she'd repeat it the next day.

And then Elijah remembered how she'd discovered her powers when she was four.

He had just spun her thrice and as soon as she was set down on the ground, she had told him,

"Daddy, Uncle Kol is going to go to sleep. He'll sleep for a long time. He'll leave me. Don't let him go Daddy."

She had said it softly but with a confidence that only comes when you know you're speaking the truth.

True to her word, Kol got badly injured and Niklaus had to dagger him for 17 years so as to temporarily kill him and save him of suffering.

After that she kept predicting a lot of things which came true. Once Elijah realized that she was an Oracle, she was sent to Spain to protect her. Elijah, Kol and Niklaus had to kill a lot of which hunters which actually weren't many.

They had to send off Jacob and Ilaria quite earlier. Even after Seraphina was given back her memories she would not know let alone remember Jacob and Ilaria.

Elijah sighed as he heard something - most likely a bottle of bourbon or a wine glass - crash against the wall.

It was one of his brothers. Missing their child or nephew or nieces.

This would happen once or twice a month. It was routine for the  Mikaelsons'. It would reduce when the children were brought home.

They planned on telling Jacob and Ilaria what had happened and then moving to Spain for a while to do the same for Seraphina. Rebekah and Kol would have to go to school to avoid suspicion. They weren't happy with it.

Freya, Elijah and Nicklaus didn't give a damn.

Elijah decided to go see Nicklaus. He went over to the room and knocked. Nicklaus said from the inside,

"Come in brother."

Elijah walked in and saw - as expected - two bottles of alcohol and some wine and shot glasses on the floor. The red wine was staining the carpet. elijah wrinkled his nose in disgust.

"Did you need anything, Brother?" Niklaus asked.

Elijah turned to his brother and saw - much to his surprise - Klaus was shading a drawing and he was doing it in his bedroom. 

Klaus normally worked with paint and shading was like a once - in - a - decade activity for him.he also normally worked in his studio in the basement and not in his room.

"Not really." Elijah replied.

There was silence in the room. The only noise was the noise of the pencil as Klaus shaded. After what seemed to be eternity Klaus scribbled his signature on the back of the paper he had been shading on. Elijah went behind him to inspect the drawing. It was Ilaria from when she was 9 months old. She was giggling in the picture. Elijah didn't know when it was from. Ilaria had alway been smiling and laughing. Elijah hoped she still was always laughing and smiling. 

Klaus got up to leave the room. When he was near the door Elijah asked

"Where are you going brother?"

"For a walk in the woods."

Elijah nodded and after Klaus was gone, he too left the room, to go to his room and get some rest.
