New Member of the Pack

Oleander, now Dare, was nervous. He held Origin's hand as they waited for Oak. The hunter was in his office. They were talking and Oak wanted them to wait. He wanted to talk to the hunter first. Alone. He wanted to get a feel for this hunter.

Oak waited at his desk as a man walked in. He looked untamed. His black hair was long and his green eyes were sharp and watchful. Oak loved the fact that the hunter was armed with a sword on his back and two handguns on his thighs and a knife on his hip and one over his chest. He was ready to fight.

Oak enjoyed watching Fabian. He was very handsome. He wasn't expecting that. He was expecting some eighteen year old newby, fresh from school. This man was older and more experienced. Oak knew he was gifted and had seen a lot in his young years. He admired Fabian Delgado.

"Fabian Delgado. Please, come in and sit." Oak stood. "I'm Oak Sandoval. I talked to Lukas on the phone. Please." He motioned to a chair.

Fabian stared at Oak and shook his hand. He was tall and muscular. He pictured some old guy but this man was not. He looked thirty. His hair was a dark blonde and his eyes were very pretty yellow. He knew that all werewolves had yellow eyes. This man's smile was pleasant and not forced. He was a genuine person. He sat and Oak sat.

Fabian was a pretty good judge of character and Oak seemed honorable and kind. He liked him. He was strong and sexy in his black dress shirt and slacks. There was no tie but there was a nice black vest with silver buttons. It was nice on him. His cufflinks matched. Fabian was impressed. This werewolf was classy.

"Sir." Fabian stared and the Alpha stared.

"I have called the wolf you're looking for and I will explain. If I can ask for open minds and mercy, maybe a little patience?" Oak smiled.

Fabian melted into the chair. "Sure. I can do that for you, Oak. Sir." What was wrong with him? He was lecturing himself. Calm down. His whole system felt like it was jogging in place.

Oak picked up his desk phone, pushed a button and smiled. "Marla, please just have them wait a little longer. Thanks." He paused. "Yes, thanks." He hung up. "They are waiting. Drink?" Oak stood.

"Please." Fabian watched Oak walk to his decanters. He poured a gold liquid in two glasses and walked back. Fabian would be happy to watch him walk the rest of his life. "I love how you walk!" He gasped. "I'm sorry I said that!"

Oak smiled. "Thanks. I love compliments, Fabian."

Fabian turned red. "I just meant that you have this... swagger when you walk. I don't know!"

Oak smiled. "Thanks. Here." He handed him a glass and sipped his as he sat. He got flashes of pulling this hunter to the floor and loving him. He could feel his body as he touched him with his hands. He took a breath and watched the hunter sitting in his chair. Oak wanted to touch his body again even though he knew that he hadn't touched him yet.

"You're not the first Alpha that I've met but you are the... oldest." Fabian was sweating now. "I didn't mean to imply that you are old! You're much better looking than...." He paused. "I met a Coven leader a couple of times but they just creeped me out! Vampires!" Fabian shivered.

Oak smiled. Fabian was nervous and Oak was charmed. "Well, we are indiscriminate here. I actually have a vampire in my pack. It's weird and we know it. He's my grandson."

Fabian stared. "Your grandson? You don't look a day over thirty! You have grandchildren?"

Oak smiled. "I like having you here. Thanks again and yes, I have several grandchildren."

Fabian smiled all stupid. "Sorry! I don't quite... I'm stupid. Sorry!" He took a breath. "How did that happen?"

Oak watched the hunter smile. He smiled back. "I'm assuming you mean having a vampire in the pack and not how I got grandchildren." He smiled as the hunter blushed.

Fabian just gave up, laughed and turned red. "Yes! I'm not myself today. Sorry! Yes, how did you get a vampire to join your pack?"

Oak chuckled. "Well, my daughter, Indigo, found him on a hunt, strictly deer. He was hungry and lost. Alone. She took him home and well, we took him in. He was seven. Lost his family. They were killed by other vampires." Oak watched Fabian and his green eyes. "He is my grandson."

Fabian stared. "Really?"

"Really. We had our full moon last night and he ran with us. Him and his husband. He's new to the pack and he's the wolf in question. His induction was last night. They are here. Waiting." Oak looked at the door.

"The rogue?" Fabian stared again. "Those are killed."

Oak nodded. "I agree but that is not what this was, Fabian. I just need a little more patience before you pass judgement on my son. Please."

Fabian nodded. "Because it's you, Sir, I will be patient and listen." He stared at the Alpha. "I trust you."

Oak smiled at Fabian. He held his gaze. "Fabian, I appreciate it. Dare was not a rogue." He told him the story as Fabian sat and happily stared at Oak. He wanted to dive over the desk and tackle him to the floor. He could see them having amazing sex on the thick carpet. He had pictures of them naked together, loving each other. He blinked hard and wiped his face.

"You okay?" Oak was worried.

"Sure. Sorry. I don't feel well." Fabian took a breath.

"Maybe water for you instead of Scotch." Oak stood and found a bottle of water. He walked to Fabian. He bent in front of him and opened the water. He just about held the bottle for Fabian to sip it. He had to stop himself. Oak touched his face. "You don't feel warm." He touched Fabian a little too long but not long enough.

Fabian almost melted. "I'm fine. Let's... uh..." He just stared into Oak's eyes. "I saw us together?"

Oak stood and almost fell over the desk. "You did?" He straightened his vest as he realized what this was.

"I did. What was that?" Fabian sighed. "It was pretty detailed."

"I saw that too." Oak looked at the carpet. "We were right there?"

Fabian nodded. "What did you do to me?"

"Nothing. It's nothing, Fabian." Oak was unsteady and sat in his chair. "It's an Alpha wolf thing sometimes. But not this, this is impossible. Maybe I should have them come in. You can meet them?" Oak's body was vibrating.

Fabian nodded. "Yes. That would be fine." He cleared his throat. "Can we talk later?"

Oak smiled. "I would love nothing more, Fabian." He smiled and walked to his door and opened it. "Come on in, Dare, Origin. Please." Vibe stood as well. "Come on." Vibe wanted to protect Dare. Oak knew that Vibe would go with Dare when they split. He just smiled. He was looking forward to having less responsibility and having someone to talk to and someone that understood him. Another Alpha. He couldn't wait.

Dare held Origin's hand as they walked into the office. Oak sat at his desk. "Fabian Delgado, this is my grandson, Origin and his husband, Dare. This is Vibe, one of my guards. He belongs with Dare now."

Fabian stood and was a little shaky. "Dare? I have questions for you."

Dare nodded and held onto the vampire. "Sir, I am so sorry for creating such a mess." He was scared that this hunter would kill him. "I have never met a hunter before and it's been a goal of mine to never do so."

Origin pulled Dare to a chair and sat on his lap. Vibe stood behind Dare and Origin, he was protecting.

Fabian sat. "Uh, so you married into this pack? Oak filled me in on things."

Origin smiled. "Yes. We mated and we are married. He changed his name at last night's moon. We had a ceremony and he is officially in this pack. He isn't a rogue, he wasn't a rogue. He was chasing vampires!" His eyes flashed to black.

Dare touched Origin's hand. "Origin. Easy." Origin's eyes were back to blue. Dare wrapped around his husband. "I never killed a human or exposed our kind to anyone. I mostly stayed in caves and I was farther up north in the arctic. There were no people. I chased vampires this way."

"I heard part of that. Why?" Fabian wanted to be thorough and get the story from him. See if it changed from Oak's story.

Dare wiped a tear. "They killed my mate. I had no choice."

Fabian stared. "They killed your mate? I thought wolves wouldn't live without their mate?"

Oak cleared his throat. "That is a false truth. We can live if we choose to. It's not a death sentence but it's a challenge. It's tough. I know a few that have, myself included."

"You! Someone killed your mate?" Fabian stared at Oak and felt sorrow for him. "I am so sorry that you hurt like that, Oak!" He held eye contact with Oak. "I truly am! You are alone now?" He had a strong urge to comfort Oak.

Oak smiled at Fabian. "I am. It's been a long time now. I was young and made a mistake and she paid the price. I got into another Alpha's territory, he killed her."

Dare stared. "Sir! What? I am so sorry, Father!" He stood and walked around the desk and pulled Oak into a hug. Oak could have killed Dare when he crossed into Oak's territory. "I'm sorry!"

Oak chuckled. "You are so kind, Dare. I don't follow these practices." He held onto Dare for a moment. "Are you okay?"

Dare nodded and pulled away. "I knew you had the right to kill me and I'm sorry!" He turned to Fabian. "He had the right because I entered his land without permission or notice. I followed the vampires that killed my mate."

"What happened?" Fabian stared.

Origin stood and smiled. "He saved my life and I married him." He shrugged.

Fabian stared more. "So, you are the vampire that I heard about. How did that happen?" He knew that Origin was a vampire but he didn't feel threatened. He felt no need to kill this vampire. Fabian trusted Oak completely and that was weird.

Dare smiled. "We are mated. It's not a choice. A werewolf finds that other person that is perfect for them. Turns out that mine is a vampire!"

"But you had a mate?" Fabian never blinked.

"I did. I was just as confused and Origin was in denial for a while. He told me he never wanted to see me again. It's a strong pull." Dare smiled.

"I suffered alone for two days until this jackass was naked in my backyard!" Origin glared.

"Hey, that was Oak's fault and you didn't have to let me in!" Dare glared.

"We have been through this. It was your fault to begin with, you said you were leaving!" Origin glared back.

"Because you never asked me to stay, Dick!" Dare almost smiled.

"I shouldn't have to ask. If you knew you were in love, you should say so!" Origin smiled and lightened his voice. "We could have had sex a lot sooner!" He pulled Dare into him and they kissed.

Oak sighed and turned to Fabian. "This is normal."

Fabian stared at the couple but his gaze landed back on Oak. "So, there was no crime?"

"None. Dare is a good wolf. He's learning from me and will be an Alpha one day. It's exciting. Alphas are not common." Oak smiled.

Fabian nodded.

"Did you know a wolf by the name of Cosmo?" Oak had to ask. He was still haunted by what that vampire said before he was killed. A hunter hired vampires to kill a wolf.

"Cosmo? No. Who is that?" Fabian stared into Oak's eyes.

Dare watched the hunter. He was just staring at Oak and Oak was staring back. "Uh, can we be excused? Sir?"

Oak didn't look away from Fabian. "Yes."

"It was a pleasure to meet you Fabian. Maybe you can stay for a while, get to know us properly." Origin smiled at Dare. It was clear that there was an attraction between Fabian and Oak. Vibe smiled as they all left. Oak and Fabian needed alone time. Vibe knew that Oak was safe with Fabian.

Fabian couldn't focus. "Sure. Thanks." He hadn't heard that but he loved looking at Oak. He had more flashes of him kissing the Alpha.

They were tangled up in a bed as he moaned. He begged for more and was back in the office, clothed. He could feel Oak's body on him. He knew every detail and how he felt as Oak touched him. He could feel Oak's very hard arousal pressed into his and knew what it felt like to be naked with Oak on top of him.

Oak stood up and cleared his throat. "Please, let me find you a room to stay in, if that's okay?" He walked to the door.

Fabian stood on shaking legs and followed. "Sir?" Fabian had no intention of staying. He had a hotel room where his bag was.

Oak cleared his throat. "Fabian." He kept walking. He was unsteady also. He took a deep breath as they left the office and walked down the hall.

"What's happening?" Fabian tried to breathe.

Oak sighed. "Once you leave, it will pass. I'm sorry."

Fabian stared at Oak. "But what is it? Did you poison me?"

Oak laughed. "No! When an Alpha meets a potential mate, this happens. Did you get a vision of us in bed?"

"I did. What was that?" Fabian was shaking.

"Nothing. Potential. It was just potential." Oak smiled. "Eat dinner, a good night's rest and a good breakfast and it will pass." He opened a door just down the hall from the office. "This is your room." It was Dare's room. "I want to introduce you to some friends. Come on. Hungry?" Oak walked down some stairs and they smelled food.

"I am starving. I could eat, I guess." Fabian's head was reeling about this news. He was Oak's potential mate? He knew that sex with Oak would be fantastic. "I'm not into men."

Oak smiled because Fabian said he wasn't into men, not werewolves. He didn't think of Oak as a werewolf. This pleased him. "Me either. Let's eat."
