You can be a hero
✿ ✿ ✿
"Listen up students! I will be distributing career aspiration documents to each one of you," the man spoke clearly, looking at each of his students and analyzing them seriously.
But the sternness faded when he threw the sheets in the air and smirked proudly.
"But why bother when it seems that you lot want to all be heros!"
The sheets littered the classroom while each student activated their quirk simultaneously, showing off how extravagant they could be with the power they held individually.
At the back of the class sat the same green, curly haired boy with freckles,
Now older, taller and having a stronger ambition to become a hero. Even after seeing all of his classmate's amazing quirks, he continued to raise his hand, to signify that he as well wanted to become a hero. But it abruptly fell when a loud, explosive voice echoed through the classroom.
"Don't mix me in with these extras, I'm not intending on making buddy buddy with any of these weak secondary characters." The voice came from the spiky haired boy sitting in the center of the class, his now long legs sprawled on top of his desk, a smirk plastered on his face as he rocked back and forth on his chair at a rythmic pace.
His classmates retaliated with angry glares and remarks, but were immediately silenced by the teachers words.
"Oh yes indeed Bakugou, you want to go to U.A high school dont you?" The teacher looked up from his clipboard and studied the back of the room where the curly haired boy sat.
"As well as Midoriya, am I correct?"
The classroom erupted into a fit of laughter, not being able to believe what they just heard. They insulted the poor boy, making remarks like "that's impossible for you" or "studying alone won't suffice."
He stood from his chair abruptly, shaking slightly, his bony hand gripping onto his desk tightly.
"Its not set in stone! You say that just because it has never happened before, so-" his words were cut off by a loud explosion that emitted from the the spiky haired boy's hand. It blew Midoriya backwards, his back colliding with the wall harshly.
"So you think you can challenge me and take a spot at U.A you weakling!?" Bakugou grinned maniacally, his hands raised which emitted smaller explosions in the air.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard coming from the far right corner of the class, slowly reaching the boys.
once reaching the two boys, the footsteps stopped. A girl stood in between them, her front facing Bakugou's heated glare. The class watched in awe as she crossed her arms and spoke
"Izuku is not the only one looking for a spot at U.A, I'm applying as well," her eyes stayed locked onto Bakugou's,
"And don't think for a second that that attitude of yours will get you into UA, it's rather distasteful and unhero like" the girl turned around, now facing Izuku she bent down and held out her hand towards him. Ignoring the whispers and gossip being said behind her.
"Makes sense, she's a 'Bushida' afterall"
"The spot at U.A will probably be handed to her"
"Hah! Bakugou just got told off"
"We never really got to see her quirk, wonder if it's good"
"Bakugou is going to have to watch out"
"Dude did you see Tamiko's panties when she bent down"
Bakugou continued to glare at the girl as she helped Midoriya up, patting the dust and desk debris from his shoulders.
"Tch, who does she think she is, with a quirk like hers she should know her place," he grumbled and hunched over his desk maintaining the same hot headedness throughout the rest of the period.

"I'm so sorry Izuku, I really wanted to hang out with you today but something came up, I have to go check the cafe" Tamiko explained to Izuku, her shoulders slumping down with a sorry expression on her face. She really wanted to take a break and spend quality time with Izuku, seeing as she's always busy with either helping at the cafe or running errends for her aunts.
"No no it's alright Tamiko, we can hang out some other day!" Izuku uttered as he waved his hands around dismissively. Tamiko looked worriedly at the boy in front of him, remembering the earlier events that took place. She honestly didn't know how she was able to stand up to Katsuki in front of the whole classroom. She would stop bakugou's relentless bullying from time to time, it became a part of her daily routine at school.
She knew how much Izuku wanted to be a hero, most of the time she spent with him, he'd have his face stuck to his notebooks, scribbling hero notes for hours without end.
Seeing katsuki humiliate him for that in front of everyone just gave Tamiko a sour taste in her mouth and sick feeling to her stomach. If only things were different . If only that day never happened. It brought a frown to her face, head lowering to her shoulders. Izuku wouldn't be in this situation.
No.
She has to stop putting these negative thoughts in her head, or else she'll be stuck in the same place, how is she ever going to get better.
How is she ever going to change.
She looked up at Izuku, noticing his confusion at her loss for words. She had to reassure him, make him feel safe.
"If he ever says anything like the things he was saying earlier to you, tell me, okay?" She placed her hand on his shoulder and gave him a stern look. He nodded in response and waved goodbye as she walked out of the classroom early.
As Tamiko left, Katsuki appeared.

"Here you go Salem,"
Tamiko placed a small container of water down on the floor. From her left, came a large Black cat with a blue ribbon wrapped around its neck. It brushed against Tamiko's leg.
Tamiko kicked the container of water slightly, to make the cat notice it. It perked its ears as it saw it and bowed its small head to drink. Around the room cats were either laying down or playing with each other, running and jumping around the room.
"Hey Tamiko! Sorry we had to call you in on your resting day, one of the workers called in sick today," a lady sitting in the front sighed as she scratched her head in annoyance. She looked to be in her late thirties, sporting an apron which read "Bushida's Cat Cafe" in a small section at the top corner of her apron, and her name on the opposite corner which read 'Megumi'.
"No worries at all Miss Megumi!"Tamiko smiled brightly at the older woman, bending down to rub the belly of one of the cats laying down. The woman looked at her with a thoughtful expression. Seeing the young girl so kindly greeting the cats made her eyebrows quirk in curiosity.
"Why is it that you bother so much with this cafe, I understand that your family owns it but more staff can easily be hired to help around the place! I just don't know where all your energy comes from Tamiko," the woman wondered, grabbing the remote controller and turning the TV on. Tamiko looked up at the woman as she continued to pet the cat next to her.
"Every great hero has the responsibility of saving others from harm and caring for them in a time of need, people count on them every day to do their very best," she continued to pet the cat in front of her, smiling when it placed its head on the palm of her hand, snuggling close to her, She
Continued, "In a way, these cats are relying on me to take care of them.
With the help of my aunts and mom, I've been able to rescue these cats that were suffering alone with no hope of surviving. They were horribly abused and mistreated. Imagine being experimented on and then developing something from that that will stay with you for the rest of your life and hinder it," as if on cue, salem sneezed and began floating twords the ceiling, pulling the now frizzy cat down twords her she continued, "I've grown so close to each and everyone of them, they're almost like my babies!" Tamiko laughed as the older woman gave her an approved nod, admiring the young girl's maturness.
From the far front of the cafe, they heard the door open, the harmonic sound of the chimes above swaying side to side. Miss Magumi was the first to notice who the person was.
"Look over there, it's the boy that regularly comes here every Friday! He sure is a looker huh Tamiko?"
Tamiko looked closer and noticed the boys features more clearly as he came into view. His hair was oddly two colors, white on his right and red on his left. His hair covered his eyes which were two completely different colors as well. Although he had a large scar across the left side of his face, Tamiko could still clearly see the softness in his eyes and the rest of his features.
"This might be your first time meeting him since he only comes during your resting days, go introduce yourself and welcome him in lassy" she elbowed Tamiko, pushing her forward towards the front of the cafe. She stumbled a bit before regaining her composure. Grabing her apron from Miss Magumi, she Cleared her throat as she walked closer to the boy.
"H-hello! Welcome to Bushida's cat cafe! Where would you like-" she was interrupted by the boys icy words and cold look,
"I usually rent a room so just hand me the key, I don't want to waste my time," he outstretched his hand, waiting for the keys to be given to
him. Dumbstruck Tamiko fumbled to grab them out of her apron.
"U-um what two cats of your choice would you like to bring in the room with-" once again Tamiko was interrupted, this time by the boy's quick gesture across the room. He went to reach for one of the carrier baskets and then picked up 'shadow' and a white fluffy cat who's blue collar read 'moon'. He walked back over to Tamiko and snatched the keys that were in her hands. At a loss for words, Tamiko silently watched the boy enter one of the rooms in the back, the two cats in the basket meowing and purring as she lost sight of him.
"What the! He forgot to take the shock canceling gloves for moon! Does that boy have no manners?!" Tamiko angrily walked over to Miss Magumi, offended by the boys rude actions. Miss Magumi laughed at the scene that played out, her hearty laugh echoing around the cafe.
"Trust me, he'll warm up to ya sooner or later. He's always cold to strangers, but once you get to know him he's not as cruel as you think he is. Besides, he's the same age as you, so it'll be easier to have a conversation with him, it seems like he has similar interests as you as well,"
"Geez....why would I want to befriend someone like that, he sounds like an untamed cat." Tamiko looked back at the door of the room the boy was staying in. She sighed deeply, remembering the boys odd facial features and cold demeanor.
"What a strange guy..."

Some time had passed, and closing time was nearing. Tamiko was wiping the table as one of the last few customers were exiting the cafe. She looked over at Miss Megumi who was packing her things in her bag, hanging up her apron on her way out the door. She turned around to look at Tamiko.
"Hey, I left the keys to close the cafe on the counter in the back, also, the boy is still in one of the rooms, so you gotta kick him out," she smirked, knowing exactly what situation she is putting Tamiko in.
Tamiko groaned as she finished giving one of the tables its last wipes.
As she heard Megumi exit, Tamiko groaned even more as she walked over the counter to retrieve her things and the keys. She looked over at the door to the room that the boy was staying in. Having to face his icy glare once again made Tamiko's stomach drop.
What was up with that boy, she hadn't done anything to him.
She walked towards that door and knocked three times. The knocking echoing through the now vacant cafe.
Silence, no response. The only sounds coming from the TV in the room that was left on a news station channel
She knocked once again louder.
This time she heard a response.
"The room is occupied" his low voice spoke, a bit gravelly.
Had he just woken up from a nap?
"We're closing now so could you please exit the cafe, everyone else has left, you are the only one here." A little bit of sass hinted in Tamiko's words, Remembering their meeting from before.
" I believe the cafe closes later, does it not. The sun is still out." His voice was more held together now, losing its raspyness.
"We're closing earlier today, pardon the late notice." Although there was a sign saying so in front, she didn't want to make her customer feel dumb. He did come regularly, so she didn't want to make him back off.
"Hmm. I see." She heard him say as shuffling was heard behind the door.
She stood back as the door creaked open, a tall frame appeared in front of her. His hair looked messier, his eyes a bit red from the nap he just woke up from. His hand reached for something in his pockets but noticed it was empty. He immediately turned around and searched the room. Tamiko peered into the room, walking in slightly. She looked as he searched the room for something. Salem and moon were sleeping in the corner of the room, purring quietly as their tails swayed softly. Tamiko walked over towards them and picked them up carefully as to not wake them up. She saw moon start to wake up so she petted her head back to sleep, placed them in the basket and turned to look at the tv that was still on, she reached for the controller to turn it off but immediately froze once her eyes glanced over the screen.
What she saw made her stomach drop and knees buckle.
There on the screen was a pained Katsuki Bakugou being held by some form of slime that enveloped his whole body, fear shown in his eyes as flames were spreading around him. Tamiko gasped grabbing the boy's attention, he stood up with a confused expression not knowing how to react towards the girls clearly distressed self. Tamiko's shaky hands were covering her mouth, she looked at the live broadcast on tv, the location showing in the bottom of the screen as a news reporter read the words outloud, warning people not to go near the area.
The news reporter then had a shocked expression plastered on her face, her fingers pointing towards a direction behind the camera man. The camera turned around and what was shown made Tamiko break out in a cold sweat.
A boy with curly green hair and freckles, still wearing his school uniform, was shown running at full speed towards the chaos and flames. Determination and fear shown on his face.
It was Izuku Midoriya.
Tamiko immediately dropped the basket she was holding and ran full speed out the cafe, leaving a confused boy, and distressed cats behind.
