Chapter 2
As Karma led him along the road, cold and empty in the dark of the night, Hiroto gazed at the stars.
On each of those... Is a colony..
His mind was running at an alarmingly fast rate, documenting information and going into his memory and info bank to fish out new instruction and lesson.
He grew tired, having been dragged around for a substantial amount of the afternoon, and his knees buckled. Karma turned back with a concerned glance, before a look of understanding crossed his face.
"Ahh, you don't know how to control your stamina or energy levels yet, do you?" Hirito shook his head in agreement, apologetic, and Karma hoisted him to his feet.
"That's fine, you'll eventually get signs that you're pushing yourself too much once you have a better grasp of your body. Speaking of getting a better grasp of things-do you have an assigned home?"
Hirito shrugged. "They told me i would need to find a mate and then i would most likely be invited into their home... I wasn't really told where to go" his cheeks flushed slightly.
Karma put his pointer finger to his lips in thought, eyes closing slightly. "Well.." he mused. "I could try and introduce you to the female creations if you like- would you like that?"
Hiroto bit his lip. For some reason he really disliked that idea.
"Maybe tommorow.." he mumbled, for some reason humiliated. Why was he so embarrassed? He could just get a girl tommorow, it wasn't like he didn't want one!
That would make him defective!
Hiroto wasn't defective.
He wasn't.
Karma nodded, hand sliding into Hiroto's. Hiroto averted his eyes. "Well, you can come where i 'live'?. Sure it's not really much... But it's better than living on the streets"
Hiroto nodded gratefully, and was pulled along to another destination. He felt warm. Wanted.
But androids shouldn't feel that around-
Androids?
Where had that come from?
He was a person, a creation, not a robot...? Wait.??
Huh. Why did he think he wasn't one? He...
Nevermind.
After about 10 minutes (one minute on earth) he was shown to where Karma lived.
"Ta-Da..?"
Hiroto blinked.
It was a very small house, clearly one story, and rather compact looking too, with just 1 tinted window. It looked barely bigger than a car down on earth.
His mind flashed with images of cars and a place named 'earth' a planet apparently not yet taken over, and no clear plan yet to take it over either.
A mental hologram appeared next to the home. The house was only a few inches taller.
Huh.
Cool.
Karma saw Hiroto's blank expression and grew nervous, eyebrows knitting together. "Sorry, i mean, i can try and find something else.."
Hiroto shook his head. "It's satisfactory" he said, unaware of things like tact or empathy. Unaware of how Karma's eyes darkened before reverting back to how they originally were.
They stepped inside.
"I doubt you know how to activate your sleep function" Karma shot over his shoulder, back turned to Hiroto as he locked the door. "But this should at least stop chances of you being destroyed on your first day of release, yeah?"
"Mm" Hiroto murmered, leaning against the white crystall wall, eyes closing.
Karma shifted uncomfortably before going upstairs.
"What the hell am i doing..?" he mumbled, pressing a hand to his face in exasperation.
