Well, you guys know I like odd stuff, but a friend sent me this yesterday and I thought I'd share...

"Well, it is not a pretty story.... the police were called, and found about 200 dead crows near Cardiff, Wales, and immediately there was concern about some new strain of Avian Flu.  They carefully collected all the dead birds, closing the M4 (main road in South Wales), and had a Bird Pathologist from a nearby University examine the remains of all the crows. Thankfully he confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu, to everyone's relief. However, he determined that all of the crows he examined had been killed by impact.

They then examined various paint fragments on the bodies, checked with manufacturers, and came to the conclusion the most of the impacts were from trucks, with only 2% killed by car impact.

The city then hired a Ornithological Behaviourist to determine the disproportionate percentages for truck versus car kill.

Thankfully the man knew his subject, and quickly determined the cause in short order.

Apparently, when crows eat road kill, they always post a "look-out Crow" in a nearby tree, to warn of impending danger.

His conclusion was that the lookout crow could say "Cah", but he could not say "Truck!""
