~ Chapter 3 ~

Starish and Quartet Night are doing a world tour. The first place on their list is New York. Unfortunately, both Harper and Eyre live in San Fransisco. Plus, they were lazing about in the last chapter and the concert is the very next day.

Yep, we have some dumb ass heroines.

Luckily, Harper's rich and her parents bought her a jet for her 17th birthday, complete with a personal pilot. So it takes a mere 4 hours by jet. 3 hours when coming back home since the wind isn't pushing against the jet.

The concert doesn't start until five in the evening and Harper pushed Eyre into staying at New York for a couple days. Half the reason why Eyre agreed is because her professors are just as worried for Eyre's health. It's isn't hard to pick Eyre from a crowd, especially now. The other half is because now that Harper lives just next door, the nagging is 5x more than usual.

Anyway, they left at 7 in the morning, packing a suitcase the night previously, and arrived to New York at around 10:30. From there, Harper shoved Eyre into a taxi, smiling ever so brightly, to go sight seeing.

"Where should we go first?" Harper asks as Eyre gazes out the window. A dozen pamphlets are jumbled around Harper as she takes a glance at each one, Eyre checking for some shops or restaurants. For once in three month, Eyre is hungry. Harper catches Eyre's gaze on a random restaurant and softly smiles.

"Hey, there's a popular pizza place around here. It's on the pamphlet. Let's check it out." Harper suggests and Eyre smiles, nodding her head. For once, Eyre can forget about her studies, just this once.

"Yeah, sure."

At the moment, they're in Brooklyn. The concert takes place at Times Square in Manhattan. Harper's parents also booked a five star hotel for Eyre and Harper. For now, they have plenty of time to sight see.

"After dish pisha, lesh go-"

"Harper, chew, swallow, then talk." Eyre lectures, then bites into a slice of cheese pizza without any oil (since Eyre soaked it all up with a napkin. And yes, she's one of those people.) Harper chews the piece thoughtfully and smiles.

That's when a waitress sets down two glasses of wine onto the table, nods her head to four people, one whom is smiling cheekily and the other smirking while the last two simply look bored and uninterested. Eyre sighs and Harper does her usual wink.

"Seriously? This happened two days ago at that diner..." Eyre trails off, remembering her sudden hate for restaurants. Harper smiles and waves her hand at her negative friend, brushing it off.

"C'mon! All four of them are pretty cute! They remind me of some people though... And nobody hit on us yesterday! New record, right?" Harper question, looking to the bright side of things. Eyre blows a raspberry, then asks the waitress to give her drink back to the four.

"It's too early for a drink anyways..." Eyre mumbles, then takes another bite of her pizza. Harper pouts, then takes a small drink of her wine.

"You can't drink at your age either." Eyre points out and Harper playfully sticks her tongue out at Eyre, then takes another sip. (Please don't underage drink. Set a better example than these two idots, please and thank you.)

"First drink at a pizza parlor in New York, given by some actual lookers. Not bad." Harper muses and Eyre rolls her eyes. A couple minutes later, Harper had downed the whole glass and ate two slices of pizza. Eyre merely ate one slice and then pulled out a text book she had miraculously stored in her bag, waiting for Harper to finish.

"Ready?" Eyre asks as soon as Harper had come back from going up to counter to pay the tab. The four men had already paid for their tab, the waitress just forgot to inform the two. One of the guys ended up flirting with Harper for a few minutes.

"Did you see him?! He has one purple and one silver eye!" Harper quietly shrieks.

"One purple eye and the other silver?" Eyre questions, intrigued. Harper rapidly nods her head, her eyes sparkling.

"Oh, his brunette friend's the one that bought you your drink, by the way." Harper points out, but Eyre is beyond listening at that point. Instead, she's buried into her book, yet at the same time thinking of where she's seen someone with one purple eye and the other silver. It rings a bell, but not a clear one.

"Hey~ Eyre~ C'mon, there's a popular aquarium around here! It's a must see on Brooklyn's brochure!"

"Hey, did you get the guy's name?" Eyre questions and the smile falls off Harper's face as she looks at Eyre, slightly confused.

"Huh? ..Oh... WAIT." Panic seems to surge within Harper as she realizes how she's completely forgotten to ask for his name. Eyre sighs and face palms, but the two successfully call a taxi.

"New York Aquarium." Harper requests with the door open and the driver nods. Although, right when Harper is about to climb in, someone honks a car's horn right behind the two. Their heads twist to the right simultaneously and Harper's eyes light up.

"What." Eyre asks, silently pleading Harper to get into the taxi.

"It's them! From the parlor!" Is Harper's only answer. She yanks Eyre back and shuts the taxi door, much to the driver's annoyance.

"Need a ride?" The silver one asks with a smirk, climbing out of his limo.

"No thanks. My parents told me not to talk to strangers." Eyre says passively, and opens the taxi doors again.

"C'mon Eyre! They paid our tab and bought us drinks!" Harper whines and Eyre could only roll hr eyes again. "Plus they have a limo!"

"Harper, you own a jet. Shut up and get into the taxi." The said ginger pouts and pulls Eyre out of the taxi, offering the car to someone behind the two, then drags Eyre to the limo as soon as the taxi is out of sight. Eyre stubbornly drags her heels, glaring at her annoying friend.

"We'll take the ride." Harper smiles and Eyre is pushed into the car, stumbling over her feet and then collapsing onto the seat across from the door. To the left of her is a cyan kid around the age of 15 with another guy with long platinum hair and an air of royalty surrounding him.

Eyre could swear she's seen him before. It doesn't take Harper even a second to recognize him though.

"Oh! You're the count of the Permafrost Kingdom, the Silk Palace!" Harper says and Eyre raises a questioning eyebrow.

"I'm surprised that's the title you recognized him." The cyan one says with a stoic yet soft voice. Eyre finally props herself up on one elbow before Harper helps her up. Although it's only been a week, Eyre is still ever so weak.

The silver one is the last to climb in as he takes a seat next to Harper, who is across from Eyre. The ones on the seat across from the door is the cyan one, Eyre, and the count as Harper says. Harper has herself in between a smiling brunette and the silver one with a purple eye, lighter than Eyre's, and the other silver, just as Harper had explained.

"Sorry, but you guys seem familiar somehow. And how would you know that?" Eyre send Harper a questioning look and the cyan one is the one to speak again.

"They don't speak English. He doesn't either." The kid points his gaze to the silver one. "I had to teach him that line. According to my data, you used to be the Vesper successor." He says and Eyre raises a brow again.

"And how do you know that?" She asks, scooting a bit closer to the door even if the car is speeding at a dangerous 60 miles per hour. With one quick glance out the window, she sees how cars around them had slowed down.

Traffic, perhaps?

"The previous-"

"Wait, Ai-ai. Used to?" The brunette questions in Japanese. Eyre nods her head.

"Yes. I cut my ties with my family three months ago." Eyre states plainly, speaking just as fluent in Japanese as the brunette. Their spirits seem to have picked up a bit when knowing that Eyre could speak Japanese.

"Ehh~? Why?" Eyre narrows her eyes, her arms folded across her chest as the silver one and Harper have a different conversation all together.

"I think we should know each other's names before we begin to speak of our private lives, no?" The platinum hair man nods his head and so does the cyan one.

"A wise decision. As your friend had said, I am the count of the Silk Palace. My name is Camus." Eyre mentally reminds herself to question Harper on knowing his title. Sure, Eyre's rich and she knows people but she's never heard of the Silk Palace. Or the Permafrost Kingdom for that matter.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Mikaze Ai." The little cyan one says and Harper perks up, looking at the four others who haven't participated in her conversation with Mr. Silver.

"No wonder you guys seem familiar! You four are Quartet Night!" The sudden bell rings clearly and Eyre muses aloud.

"So they're the people we're watching during the concert? Huh, small world." Is the only thing Eyre could say before looking out the window just as she had done in the taxi on her way to the pizza parlor. Harper sweat drops, forcing a smile onto her face. Harper stands up, making her way to Eyre herself, then pulls Eye's cheek.

"Wha du- Harpur- St-stoph!!" Eyre yells, batting Harpers hand away but to no avail. Harper smiles evilly at her best friend, one of the rare moments when she'd let her sadistic side out. Quartet Night shuffles to the back of the limo, not wanting to get caught up in whatever's happening.

"You should be more polite! They're idols!" Harper lectures.

"An I'm a ex-suchessor!" Eyre retorts, still having her cheek pulled.

"That was weak and you know it." Harper glares and Eyre is finally able to slap Harper's hand away with a glare.

"Fine." Eyre snaps, rubbing the raw part of her cheek and Harper sits to Eyre's left, carefully watching her best friend in case she screws something up once again.

Eyre sighs with her eyes closed and turns to the four members of Quartet Night, looking just as stoic as Ai.

"I'm Eyre, pleased to meet you." She bows her head and the tension seems to have lifted. The one that seems the most cheerful out of them all glomps Eyre with a smile, and Eyre could feel how much less life threatening the glomp is compared to Harper's.

"Yo-ho Eyre-tan! I'm Kotobuki Reiji. Yoroshiku-ma-cha-chan!" He smiles and Harper glomps the two.

"Yay~! Glomp fest!" Eyre could only groan while the three other members give her a small sympathetic look, sorry that Eyre is being glomped by two people.

"Oh look. The aquarium. Harper, let's go." Eyre says hastily and pushes herself off the glomp. Harper pouts but then smiles and waves to Quartet Night.

"See ya later tonight at the concert then!" Reiji tilts his head innocently.

"But aren't we going to the aquarium with you two?"

"No."

"We have dress rehearsal."

"Don't say something so stupid."

"I'm supposed to have girl time with Harper."

Four people dead pan and both the ginger and the brunette comically cry.

"Ehh~? Why not?" They both ask simultaneously.

" Mikaze-san and I's reasons have been stated." Eyre says and Ai nods his head.

"C'mon~ It's not everyday you get to walk around with idols!" Harper reasons.

"Harper, you're rich. Let's. Go."

"Eyre dear, this is a once and a life time chance." Harper explains, but Eyre had stopped listening. The only sentence that seems to pass through her is one of a male's, one who's voice seems to attract attention to himself.

"Eyre dear, Kija-kun, why not name one of your children after us?"

Eyre's eyes dilate as they widen and she takes a shaky step back.

"Eyre?" Harper asks and Eyre trips over the curb. Harper scrambles out of the limo and the four members of Quartet Night look out the open door to see what's happened.

"Harper? Who the hell's Kija?" Eyre questions, standing back up with trembling legs. It took Harper a second to realize, but Kija may be the person that Eyre used to love in her coma.

Instead of answering, Harper gently shoves Eyre to the entrance of the aquarium, handing Eyre her credit card and telling her to buy the two entrance tickets and tickets to any show in the aquarium before 4. The ravenette stares at the card in confusion, her face twisted and realization slowly spreads like watercolor.

"I go... to the front." Harper nods her head. Eyre mimics the movement, stands, then walks to the front.

"What just happened?"

"Is Kija her boyfriend?"

Ranmaru (the silver one) and Reiji both ask at once. Harper pays attention to Eyre's unsteady steps, her legs shaking as if a newborn.

The band speculate a war raging within Harper's eyes, and before Reiji sides with Harper's rational side, the redhead heaves a heavy sigh. Her completely idiotic side had won the fight with petty fights and the startling realization that she can only keep up with Eyre for so long.

Words slowly seep from Harper's mouth, words chosen carefully as to not leak out too much information; but the trickling stream turns into a raging waterfall, and everything Harper's suppressed and kept to her and Eyre comes gushing out. The seal to the dam breaks open, and it takes a while for it to empty.

Quartet Night stays silent, then Ai speaks up.

"What about you?" He asks and Harper perks up.

"H-huh?"

"You. What happened to you while Eyre was in her coma, while she shut herself in. It can't always be about her, can it?"

"M-me?" Harper forces out, and Reiji nods his head with a smile.

"You suffered just as much as her. And you're still standing. Eyre is lucky to have a friend like you." That's when Eyre arrives back. She's back to her natural, stoic self with a bunch of tickets in her bag.

"Alright, I got entrance tickets, and a few tickets for shows. Here." Eyre then proceeds to hand Harper a few tickets. That's when, to Harper's surprise, Eyre starts giving tickets to Quartet Night. The four members look at the tickets, confused. Eyre sighs and folds her arms.

"We have to pay you back for the pizza and the drinks anyway." She states, then walks back to the aquarium.

Harper's shocked face brightens with a smile as she dashes after her friend. Reji smiles just as much as he yanks Ranmaru and Ai out of the limo, much to their annoyance. Camus shakes his head but follows out anyways, considering how Eyre already paid for the tickets and the shows.

~~~
-Right before Ranmaru could go out to talk to Harper, he asked Ai to teach him the phrase "Need a ride?" in order to look cool.
-After the concert, Eyre and Reiji ran away and went shopping at a near by market
-They shoplifted, stole a truck; Eyre dropped a watermelon on the brakes in an attempt to throw fruits at the police chasing them, and the two split the bail as if paying for an over priced dinner
long story short, the last two drabbles used to be an actual chapter. but i was looking over three chapters of eyre, harper, and reiji doing stuff together and realized everything is filler. i decided to delete everything and turn a few of the fun, happy moments the three had together into drabbles.
finals end this week! and because of that, i plan to go back to my old schedule. (kinda.) updates will be twice a week (thursdays and sundays) now. lets get this story rolling!
