Chapter 25 - Meili
Author's note:
This book is dedicated to my sweet daughter Meili, a happy child with a bright future ahead of her. My cub.

As a kid you look forward to growing up, every day you await the day you turn 18, finish school, get a job, start a family- Then live out the rest of life.
You somehow find yourself pushing harder and faster to get to that day, however once you get there, you fall.
Things go by in a flash, whiz past you before you can even grasp ahold of what was left your childhood, your teenage years, your everything leading up to that moment in time when you are thrusted into the world of adulthood, unable to keep up.
Adulthood is like the wild sahara, where anything and everything can happen, didn't matter if you were prepared enough or weren't prepared at all, it will still hit you as hard as it can before leaving you in the dust.
Take suddenly being involved in some form of accident that requires medicinal repair, you need money to pay for those hospital bills but you only get paid minimum wage, work two jobs, have a house and a mortgage, live by yourself with a cat. What do you do in order to pay for your medical expenses if your insurance isn't able to cover for them?
You could ask for a loan from the bank, but that could take forever to be finalized, and that is just money you have to worry to pay off later.
Ask money from your parents? They live in the countryside, having enough on their own plate so you say nothing, not wanting to burden them with your problems. Because you were an adult now.
You go through many options until you have no choice but to break out your life savings (which isn't much), spend every last penny on the bills until there is nothing left in your bank account.
Life hits you hard no matter what, but there is always a chance to bounce back.
Years down the line, you are facing the same problem, only this time you all work one job that pays for three, no longer working minimum wage, full time now at a desk job with back problems when suddenly your partner's car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Partner doesn't have a job at the moment, you are the main source of income with now two more mouths to feed- A toddler at age two- and a grown human such as yourself, unable to help pay for the damages done to your vehicle.
What is the difference? The only difference is how you are financially, the circumstances haven't changed, you are still in need of money and worried about how much much you will have left to pay for standard bills every month, for food, water, electricity, to keep your cable, internet, sewage, and a roof over your heads.
Many variables, only one outcome, you have to pay for it.
That's all life would tell you over and over again, you must pay for that.
If you don't, you die.
You cease to exist.
However- That isnt always the truth.
Because while life hits you hard, so does good karma.
Because the amazing friends you have made along the way will help you out to the best of their abilities, your extended family will even pitch in if you have down countless favors for them to help them out, or out of the goodness of their hearts cause they know that you are struggling.
Everything is different in life, how things get at you is up to your actions.
Your good karma and bad karma-

Elle slammed the book shut, breathing heavily as she zoned out of the words in just the first few pages, nagging her mind.
"Fuck..." She muttered, bangs hanging over her eyes as she gripped tightly to the hard book cover, ready to just set it aflame and chuck it out of the window.
She took a deep breath in, closing her eyes as she leant back against the hospital pillow, calming down her heart rate, bile beginning to rise in her throat, threatening to regurgitate (ew I hate that word) all of the food she had eaten since yesterday.
She threw the book to the ground, deciding to splash some water on her face to help herself calm down better.
She got up from her bed, a small sigh of relief escaping her. She wasn't plugged into an ivs like she was yesterday, they basically pumped her full of nutrients in the matter of 15 hours. From what she could recall, it was just for her to be able to stay awake longer.
No wonder she couldn't sleep last night.
She closed the door to the bathroom, locking it before she slipped her eyepatch off of her head, not wanting to drench the piece of fabric.
She turned the tap on and began splashing cold water on her face, wincing at how cold it was. Why did it have to be so damn cold?!
'Great, now I sound like my grandmother when she was alive.' She thought to herself with a roll of her eyes, switching to lukewarm water.
After about a minute of splashing water on her face she paused, her ears perking up as if she was an animal. She slowly turned the water off, listening some more before she heard it again.
First it was footsteps, the shoes were not soft, they were dress shoes- school shoes. She recognized the sound of them because of her older siblings when they would enter the house and take them off at the door. The clanking of them against the aluminum flooring.
Second, the hospital bed creaking as if someone sat on it, but it was much louder than the usual sitting, it was like someone jumped on it. Like Eijirou did the day prior when he suggested playing a game of UNO.
She quickly slipped her eyepatch back on, eyes narrowing at the door. She could feel the pager in the pocket of her robe as she felt for it, given to her by Tsukauchi. She wasn't near the button in her room, she was near the one in the bathroom but either of them would make noise and alert whoever the hell was in that room.
She slowly opened the door, feeling her hands cool down as she readied for a fight.
She hit the button the moment she saw the golden eyes and yellow hair.
---
The first time the pager went off, he didn't hear it.
To consumed to realise that he would be a goner if it wasn't for the pager going off a second time.
That's when he heard it, that's when he jumped into action.
Back in the hospital room- Elle stood in the doorway to the bathroom, her visible eye narrowed dangerously at the blonde headed girl sitting on her bed all innocent like.
"Oh there you are! I was worried that you fell in-!"
"What are you doing here, Toga?!" Toga Himiko stared at her, eyes going slightly wide in shock. She didn't expect the girl to know her.
"How do you know my name-?"
"Dabi complained a shit ton about you." Elle started, spotting something hanging down around her neck on full display as if she was proud of it- A vial of blood. "Her rats nest of blonde hair, golden eyes that reminded him of p-"
"Okay, okay! I get it!" Toga giggled, finding humor. She full well knew that Dabi didn't enjoy her company, that is what made it so fun to interact and annoying him.
Elle let out a sigh, crossing her arms over her chest.
"What do you want?"
"I'm just here to see the infamous Elle! I would have called- But I didn't have a number sooo-"
"Cut the shit, what do you really want?" Toga let out another giggle, hopping off of the bed before walking over to her. Elle's eyes glossed over her figure, pausing at the hilt wrapped around her left leg that contained a knife.
"I want to be friends! Best of friends! I feel like we would get along super well!" Elle's eyes snapped back up, spotting that she was taller than Toga, but the girl didn't look at all intimidated by her taller stature.
"Get along? You do realise that I know that your group stole my blood." Elle stated gruffly. Toga hummed, grabbing a hold of the vial, turning it around in her finger tips. "Yeah... To be sure I can't wait to get a taste of it- I bet its sweet like ice cream- Oh! Or honey... Honey ice cream!" She gasped suddenly, letting go of her vial and laying her hands on Elle's arms. Elle released a blast of cold air from her arms defensively, watching the girl shiver at the cold impact.
"I shall call you Honey! I don't like the name Elle, seems to simple."
"I don't like the name Himiko but you don't see me complaining."
"Ooo~! You are definitely the sister of our dear Dabi!"
"Enough stalling, I'm about to make you into an ice sculpture-"
"You don't have to play dumb with me, Honey." Toga's tone shifted from her happy, giggling like a schoolgirl, tone. What everyone knew her by before they met her. She emitted that sort of personality no matter what- And yet, the tone shifted on the spot. Toga lets go of Elle's arms, turning swiftly to the side as she began to pace around the room, hands behind her back.
"You see, I want to be friends with you, Honey. So that means no secrets."
"I hold no secrets."
"No lying! I hate when people lie." She swiftly grabbed a hold of her knife, pulling it out of it's hilt, puncturing her index finger on her left hand until a small bubble of blood showed up.
"I know that you hold many lies, you have been lying for your whole life basically, especially when it comes to your true identity." She smeared her blood on the wall, not caring about the mess. She pulled something out of her pocket, easily flashing it off.
Elle could feel her breath hitch, eyes widening. 'Shit.'
"I know that you aren't just some orphan off of the street. You do have a family alive and well, Dabi does too. And it so happens to be the Todorokis, you being the youngest of them all." She pointed her knife at her. Elle wasn't going to let her do this. She hardened her gaze, steel meeting gold.
"People that I no longer associate with. I advise you to burn that photo."
"I really would but- We need it, Dabi certainly enjoys looking at it."
"You told me not to lie, and yet here you are lying right to my face. My brother hated that photo, he only ever kept it to remind us on what could have happened if we had stayed in that dreadful home."
"Ah- Gotcha, Honey." She placed the photo back in her pocket, neatly folded back up. She walked back over to Elle, knife still raised but not pointed directly at her. Elle eyed the vial of blood around her neck, more than likely, that was the blood she had stolen a week ago, resting on her chest, she was proud of it.
"Anyways Honey, looks like I may have to take my leave-" Toga turned around, ready to march out of the room.
"Wait Blondie."
"Aww, you two have the same nickname for me!"
"Shut up, now I see why he doesn't like you or hate you, just dislikes your presence."
"I feel honored." Elle rolled her eyes, taking a few steps forward as her shoulders slowly relaxed with each step.
"How is he? My brother."
"Hmm~? Oh I don't know, I can't see into his mind."
"Don't test me, Blondie." Toga huffed, turning swiftly on her heel, ready to speak when she heard the creak of the door opening. Elle smirked at her, her eyes going past her shoulder, spotting Tsukauchi and a few other police officers behind him. Toga turned around swiftly, huffing at the sight of the group of police officers in the hallway.
"Aww man! Honey, I thought I said no lies?!"
"I never said that I contacted the police, now did I?" Elle's smirk widened, watching Toga look back at her. An equal smirk forming on her face.
"You are your father's daughter." Elle's smirk dropped. Tsukauchi's brows rose. Toga's smirk warped into a full blown grin. 'Gotcha.'.
Toga rushed forward, heading Elle's way, knife drawn.
To Be continued
Oh shit.
So Elle met Toga, had a bit of a lovely chat with her.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
I wont be updating this for a bit, I'm actually catching up to the chapters I have already written so I would like to be able to continue as I have been and pump out chapters with worry about having to write the next chapter a week later to be published.
I have also made a new BNHA Story!
It's called 'Robotics -My Hero Academia-' and the first chapter has already been posted!
There isn't a specific timeline it takes place in but it is shortly after Season 3 of the show, but not quite into the manga but characters that haven't been introduced in the show yet are in the fanfiction, if that makes sense-.
Which reminds me!
Season 4 of BNHA is coming out in about a week in a half as I am posting this, nothing changes from here on out, as October is legit in two days, like where the hell did 2019 go... It just whisked away so quickly.
Whatever happens in season 4 won't appear in this fanfiction, I may refer to it but nothing else to avoid spoiling, like I have previously stated at the beginning of this book, if the theory of Dabi being Touya becomes true- Nothing changes with this book, if it is proven false- Nothing changes.
But I am still crossing my fingers for Dabi to be Touya Todoroki okay I'm sorry he is my boi besides Manga Fukidashi-
Enough of me babbling, I would like some predictions in the comments of what is to come! I already knew what happens and what this is leaning towards but I wonder if you guys are slowly and very fast figuring out what is bound to happen.
Thank you all for reading and I will talk to you all later! -Golden
