Chapter 24 - Lucrative
The conversation she had with Kirishi- Eijirou, was still playing in her mind that night.
It was like a cinematic movie, every syllable, word for word, every movement- It was all exact. It played in her head as she found herself unable to sleep, yet her eyes were drooping, her stomach churning from how uncomfortably full it was.
She wasn't even fed that much food- It was in smaller portions than you would give your dog, and yet she still felt like throwing it all up. She hated this feeling, that's why she never really ate anything during her stay at the Kirishima home.
To think her body failing her would end up with her in the hospital- The very place she strictly avoided to keep her true whereabouts safe, who she truly was.
Everything was going downhill for her, after her moment of serenity, nothing to worry about except for where her brother was at and if he was okay, she barely cared about the fire- She couldn't do anything about it. She under watch by Haruhi and Eijirou, and that before she knew that the fucking police was also watching her every move.
It was common sense to not do anything about it, but she did survey the news when she wasn't doing anything to see if the league was out and about, cause she knew that wherever the league was at- So was her brother.
She glanced over at the bedside table next to her, her eyes trailing over to the one that she could push and swing around to her as long as it was in a clockwise motion. There laid were two rescue inhalers, things she hadn't used since her outburst after losing contact with Touya- And before that, had been years since she used one. To add on to that...
Down by her bedside was a breathing machine- She had to use that every two hours and when she was finally ready to sleep, to put those uncomfortable things in her nose. She would be there for a few days at most- All she wanted it to be was for a few days.
Haruhi unfortunately had to go home an hour prior, leaving Eijirou stay with her if she needed anything, the staff letting it slide since no one wanted to wake the red head up.
He was sleeping in the arm chair at the corner of the room, his usual spiked up hair having deflated and rested against his cheeks, soft snores escaping him as he slept soundly.
Guilt still plagued her heart and mind, feeling heavy knowing that he held romantic feelings towards her, and there she was, using his kindness and trust in her against him- Lying to him with every waking hour.
Her lies were getting out of hand, before it was easy to just tell people and him half-truths, little white lies, but now it full on lies that she was surprised no one had caught onto yet- Well, there was Bakugo.
The angry blond was suspicious of her, he didn't want his friends and classmates to get hurt because of her. She fully understood that, the scheme she was pulling was elaborate, pretending to not be someone was hard on her mental state that she never left show until it got to the point of boiling over and exploding out of her control.
She should start some type of meditation regime.

The next morning, Eijirou unfortunately had to go back to school, and was thoroughly warned by his mother and Tsukauchi the night prior (before they both left) to not tell his friends about what happened to Elle, she had moved locations, they don't want that information to get into the wrong hands. The idea of a traitor in at the school was at the back of Tsukauchi's mind, always nagging at him to not let things slip when in the presence of students he doesn't know well enough to deduce that they were not a traitor.
Eijirou wasn't, he knew that. He had talked to the boy on several accounts before Elle came into the picture, even if it was briefly, his quirk could tell when someone was lying, and Eijirou never lied to him. He was a honest kid through and through. He even wished more kids his age were like him.
He still thought about Elle's interrogation, how his quirk somehow couldn't pinpoint what was a lie and what wasn't- Whenever he would reach a conclusion, another thing would come up and he would have to start all over again. The next best thing for him to do was interrogate her again and see how her body language changed- The way she phrases her sentences, her tone and eye movement. How calm or how nervous she was.
And so, Tsukauchi was at the police station, waiting on the autopsy results for another case, Haruhi was at the register, helping a customer with the store hours, Eijirou at school in homeroom, chatting with his friends, not noticing the whispers between his two friends, Shoto and Midoriya, the two boys haven't had a chance to speak yesterday because Enji had taken Shoto's phone away, the dual-toned teenager needed to get things off of his chest and tell his trusted friend what he found out the day prior, the rest of the class to preoccupied to even care to listen or notice that they were talking in whispers. Bakugo's loudness and Jirou's annoyed banted firing back at him was aiding them.
"She is alive, Midoriya." Shoto whispered, the greenette furrowing his brows in confusion. "Who?"
"My other half, she is alive and well." Midoriya's brows unfurrowed, eyes widening with a small glint of happiness swelling in them, clutching at the edge of his chair in anticipation as Shoto sat in Mineta's seat behind him, not daring to sit in Bakugo's seat even though it was empty and he was across the room- He was already in a bad enough mood, and he wasn't going to make it any worse.
"***********?" Shoto nodded, thankful that Midoriya only mouthed her first name to him, the syllables easily distinguishable because he knew who he was speaking of non-verbally.
"H-How?"
"Twin connection, it reappeared yesterday, stronger than ever before."
"Stronger...?" Shoto's soft smile fell into a frown. Midoriya's heart fell, seeing the sudden pain in the Number One Hero's son's eyes.
"Pain... Immense pain." He paused, glancing at his classmates at the corner of his eye to see if anyone was looking their way or listening in. There was no one, so he continued, "I felt like I could hear her yelp, hear her knees hit the ground, feel her confused and painful emotions hit me along with the pain she was feeling physically."
"I-Is she... Is she okay?"
"The connection wasn't severed, so she is still alive. I'm hoping that she is okay physically."
"That's good..."
"Midoriya."
"Huh?" He blinked at him in confusion at his sudden shift in tone.
"I want you to help me and my siblings find her." Midoriya sputtered out a gasp, struggling to speak. He didn't need to, Aizawa walked into the classroom before he could utter anything at all.
"Get in your seats." Aizawa ordered dryly, the people out of their seats scrambling to get into theirs as fast as possible, the one to get in theirs was of course Bakugo, lazily trudging along with a roll of his eyes before he sat down, leaning back and cracking his neck.
"I would say sorry for being late, but I'm not going to."
"Long night~?" Kaminari questioned teasingly, watching his teacher's head look over at him sharply like an owl, a glare hard as stone directed his way, "Or not..." The blonde slid down his seat.
Aizawa did have a long night, but not the long night Kaminari was proposing that he had. He was called in because of a member of the league was sighted and captured, he was the escort.
It was Twice by the way, the annoying little shit-
Aizawa cleared his throat, deciding to do homeroom shit as fast as possible so he could leave and take a much needed nap.

"This book sucks.".
Elle tossed the book to the foot of her bed before leaning over and grabbing a different book.
Today had been boring so far, she was seriously considering just breaking out of the hospital for a few hours- Go for a walk, chit chat and annoy others, then come back and finish out her sentence.
Nothing new was on the tv, well there were a few reruns of dramas that she didn't care about, a few anime shows that she had no clue even existed, and the news that was reporting the same bullshit again and again. But the tv was still on, instead though it was a music channel, J-Pop playing in the background of her world to help time go by faster so the day didn't drag on.
Which isn't helping like it was supposed to.
She had waken up at 11 am, pretty late for a normal human being, she had totally missed breakfast and apparently they did try to wake her up that morning for it but was met with threats from her tired grumpy self that she would make them ice statues, and they did not want to chance it.
She did eat lunch however, once they knew she was awake they got her food as fast as possible and coaxed her into eating. It was literally just two slices of strawberry jam toast with half a banana. Now she wondered what happened to the other half of the banana-
She shook her head, flipping to the first page of the book, why did they put random blank pages at the beginning of the book? It was annoying having to flip through them just to get to the first chapter or prologue. She paused, her eye focusing on the text that was all alone on the page.
"For my daughter, Meili." She read outloud, eyes narrowing in interest. This book was dedicated to someone, specifically one person, and the author's daughter.
She flipped back to the front cover, seeing just the title and no author name on it. Just 'Lion's Girl.'.
"Huh."
Maybe today- Wouldn't be too bad.
To Be continued
Apologies for the short chapter! -Golden
