twenty two
"The Force will be with you. Always." -Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other Jedi who've died.
(I'm not crying, you're crying).
Summary:
Life began anew now that you were given the duty to become a Jedi Master. The Mandalorian had completely retired from the life of a bounty hunter. The two of you had returned to that unnamed planet, and have settled down there with Grogu. Cara Dune had become a marshal of the New Republic, with Greef Karga working along her side. The galaxy was at peace once again.

It had been a few weeks since you, Din, and Grogu, have settled down in that unnamed planet. You had parted ways with the rest of the crew, now that Greef and Cara are busy with their duties for the New Republic. But of course, you all still kept in touch. They would occasionally contact you with how Nevarro has been free from any remaining imperials, and that the bounty hunter guild had disbanded.
Life has been excellent after the defeat of the empire. But today was an even more special day, because today is the day that you and the Mandalorian will finally be married. Ever since settling in this planet, the armoured man had gone out of his way of wanting to spend the rest of his life with you. Thus, he had proposed to you.
Din had no ring to propose with. Instead, he used whatever scrap metal he could find in the Razor Crest. This was still enough for you no matter what.
The wedding will be by no means extravagant. It will be intimate, with only the crew arriving to witness this event. The simplicity of the wedding just being by the ocean surrounded by swaying palm trees and soft, white sand had just made it more special for you.
"Greef and Cara are on their way now, cyar'ika," a smooth velvety voice called out from behind you.
It was the Mandalorian, but without his helmet on. Din had made a promise that once everything was over, he would never put his helmet on again. He wanted to make sure that you were able to see his real face each and everyday, not that you were complaining. You had much preferred it that way. Especially looking into his adoring brown eyes, and his smile that made you weak in the knees.
"(Y/n)?"
"Oh! Sorry Din," you shook your head back to reality. "I just zoned out from seeing your handsome face. I've just gotten so used to seeing the black T shape on your helmet that I still get butterflies from seeing your face."
"Aren't you adorable, cyar'ika," he looked at you adoringly, "Ready for the big day today?"
"Yeah, I am," your face reddened from his comment. It was so unfair that he could get you like this so quick and effortless!
You never thought in your life that you would be married to someone, much less to a Mandalorian, the ancient enemy of the Jedi. But the past of the Jedi never being allowed to love and marry had now been destroyed. With you and Luke Skywalker still around, it wasn't too late for the Jedi Order to start all over again with a new mindset.

Your two guests had finally arrived, with Greef happily agreeing to officiate the wedding. The two of them made their to the Mandalorian, wearing a simple black shirt with pants, nothing too fancy. Grogu was in his arms to say hello to their old companions.
"You know, it's still strange for me to see you without your helmet on," Cara snickered, stretching her hand out to her friend as they casually shook each other's hands.
"It's an honour being able to officiate your wedding, Mando," Greef placed his hand onto Din's shoulder.
"It's good to see you both again. Thank you for coming despite your busy schedules."
"It's really no problem. Anything for the two of you," Cara winked.
"Besides, being in Nevarro everyday gets kind of boring. Having a few days off would do good for my old self," Greef bellowed out a laugh, scooping the little green bean onto his arms, "And come over here, little fella! You're happy to see old uncle Greef, aren't you?"
Grogu cooed excitedly, reaching for the older man's nose and pinching it like there's no tomorrow.
"W-whoa! You show show affection in different ways, don't you little fella? I hope that's not how (y/n) expresses her feelings for you, Mando."
"N-no. Of course not," the Mandalorian stammered bashfully.
"What's wrong, Din? Loth-cat got your tongue? Don't worry, Greef. Our friend here is just in love with his Jedi lady," Cara nudged his arm, always seeming to enjoy teasing her good friend.
Without a helmet covering his face this time, the Mandalorian was doomed as his cheeks was all reddened from the marshal's comment. Every time your name was mentioned to him, it sent all his emotions to skyrocket. He used to be one of the most feared men in the outer rim of the galaxy. Now, he was going to be married and is a father to a small yet powerful little green creature.
"Mhmm! Y-yeah, of course I'm in love with (y/n)," he cleared his throat.
"Wow, you're already like that only thinking about her. Wait till you see how pretty I can make your bride," Cara winked. "Just don't faint, all right? I won't take long getting (y/n) ready. Greef, make sure to prep our good friend here."
You were seated in an area surrounded by many palm trees, meditating to calm your nerves. It was a rather odd feeling to be nervous, but you felt more excited nonetheless. You wanted to pinch yourself and see that if everything wasn't just a dream. Settling in your favourite tropical planet with the man whom you fell in love with and raising Grogu together, you just wouldn't trade it for anything else.
You whipped your head towards your right, feeling the presence of the New Republic marshal approach to your direction.
"Hey, bride-to-be!" She cheerfully greeted.
"Cara!" You stood up on your feet, wrapping your arms around her shoulders for an embrace. "It's so good to see you. How did you and Greef manage to book some days off of your jobs?"
"Well, I am the marshal after all. Nevarro has been a bit quieter ever since I got promoted, so getting here wasn't too difficult. Anyways, are you ready to marry your Mandalorian?"
"Yeah, I am," you replied back sheepishly.
"I've also got something for you," the marshal then reached into her bag, revealing a white simple-looking dress.
"I was just planning to wear my Jedi robes," you snickered.
"You've gotta at least let me enhance your natural beauty just for today. I was rebel dropper and now a marshal, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to give a mean makeover."
"I trust you and your skills," you flashed a gentle smile towards your close friend, agreeing with her willingly.
Cara then set her bag down onto the soft white sand. She reached inside and held out some sort of makeup, gesturing you to stand in front of her.
"When I lived in Alderaan, before joining the rebellion, I used to play dress up and played with my mother's makeup. Then when I got older, she taught me how to properly do it. The dress I brought along with me was a gift my mother gave to me. It doesn't fit me anymore, so I figured I'd let you wear it on your special day." Cara paused, smiling from the bittersweet feeling of the memory of her parents, "I just hope I can do some justice for your bridal look."
You sensed the mixture of both happiness and sadness that the marshal felt, which prompted you to place a hand of comfort onto her shoulder.
"I sense happiness and sadness within you. Your parents would be so proud of you, Cara. You have been so strong all throughout the years the empire has robbed away from you. Thank you for being such a great friend to Din and I. Know that we're also you're family."
"Hey! Enough about me, it's your wedding day," Cara sniffed, using the back of her palm to wipe away a tear. "Today is all about you, and I'll do everything I can to make this special for you and Din."
"Thank you for agreeing to witness our wedding, Cara."
"Anything for you. You've done so much for all of us. Turning you into a beautiful bride is the least I could do for all your sacrifice."
About an hour had passed by, in which Cara had managed to finish with your hair and makeup. The last thing that was left for you to do was to change into your dress. After a few minutes, you came out of the Razor Crest wearing your dress.
The wedding dress was simple and somewhat elegant at the same time. The upper area of the dress had a lace design, where the sleeves where loose and reached towards your elbows. The lace design reaches until it hugged your slim waist. The skirt mimicked a misty waterfall that went to your knees, revealing the bottom half of your legs with your toned calves.
Your (h/c) hair was let down from your usual loose bun into simple beach waves like that of a mermaid's. It swayed along with the palm trees from the gentle breeze of the wind.
And last but not the least, the makeup that Cara had done to you had made you look absolutely gorgeous. It wasn't to the point where you were beyond recognizable, but it had most definitely enhanced your natural beauty. It was a light, peach-shaded application, perfect for the tropical humid weather this planet offered.
"Not to brag but, I think I just made you the bride of the century," the marshal smirked, handing out a hand-sized mirror, "I might be right about Din fainting once he sees you."
"Whoa..." You hitched out a breath. "Thank you for becoming my personal hair and makeup artist for today, Cara. I really appreciate it."
"I just have to do some finishing touches for you," Cara placed a flower crown onto your head, finally completing your look. "There, all set for your wedding. Also, don't forget your bouquet of flowers."
You let out a deep breath, readying yourself and gathering your feelings altogether. Feelings of excitement and slight anxiousness were the most prominent, and you couldn't seem to shake them off.
"Ready to marry your Mandalorian?"
"Yes. Yes I am."

The ocean transformed into an orangey-peachy shade from the reflection of the sky as the sun had begun to set. The gentle waves had soothed the nervous Mandalorian, in which had not gone unnoticed by Greef Karga.
"You doing alright, Mando?"
"Yeah. I'm feeling really excited, and somewhat nervous. But mostly excited. I just want to marry (y/n)."
"Well you are, my friend! I've never married, so I don't really know what the feeling is like. But I'm assuming that it's normal to feel a little nervousness. Don't worry too much about it, I know that your soon-to-be wife loves you very much."
The Mandalorian then dusted off the imaginary sand off of his shoulders. His heart raced in his ribcage, feeling the slight sweat drip from his temples. It was all the jitteriness from his excitement, and he couldn't help but feel that way.
"Just relax, Mando."
"I didn't exactly prepare my wedding vows for (y/n). I'm a little scared to mess it up."
"It doesn't have to be perfect, my friend. Just say what's inside your heart. I'm sure she'll appreciate that even more. It will come off as less structured."
"I just want this day to be really special for her. Is she going to like what I'm wearing? It's just a plain black shirt and pants."
"Everything will be fine today. Trust me. Don't worry so much, Mando." Greef placed his hands onto his tensed shoulders.
The Mandalorian felt a slight tug onto his shins, looking down to see Grogu looking at him with an innocent expression. The little green bean's head titled from left to right, clearly sensing his father's emotions going for a rollercoaster ride.
"Sorry kid, I'm making you worry about me," he scooped the child up and sighed with content, "I can't believe I'm finally marrying your mother. Are you happy about that?"
Din earned a few giggles from the adorable creature, while his large pointy ears perked and moved into up and down motions.
"I'm guessing that's a yes then," he snickered.
"Speaking of which, I think the wedding has begun. If you look towards that direction over there Mando, you'll see your soon-to-be wife heading towards our way." The older man smiled gently at him.
The Mandalorian then averted his gaze towards you. A thrill of happiness, giddiness, surprise, and everything in between, had somehow overwhelmed his entire being as it paralyzed him for a moment. He hitched a breath, taking in the ethereal beauty that you were. The closer that you walked towards him, the more he was left flabbergasted with how gorgeous you were. You were indeed, the most beautiful being in the entire galaxy in his eyes.
The tropical sunset had complimented your entire being, giving you that golden glow that Din just seemingly couldn't take his eyes off.
In just a few seconds, his eyes had become watery, as his uncontrollable tears streamed down his cheeks. He just couldn't believe he was marrying someone like you, a Jedi Master! He felt like the luckiest man alive. You looked like someone any man would want to dream about, and boy was he glad that you were all his. He would need to thank Cara later for enhancing your natural beauty.
But it was more than just your physical appearance that had him falling head over heels for you. It was your heart, and how you never hesitated to help those in need no matter what. Even at the cost of your life. How you always put others before yourself. The love that you have for those who you cared about the most, and your desire of wanting to protect them from any harm and danger.
Most especially, the love that you showed for Grogu. You were most definitely not his mother by blood, but that's how the child saw you. Your dedication with training him to become a Jedi, despite the many challenges you've gone through your life. Whatever responsibility is laid down upon you, you did so without any complaints.
You finally stood before the Mandalorian, the love of your life. He reached out for your hands, as his much larger ones enveloped around them.
He mouthed a quick 'I love you,' with you mouthing 'I love you too' in return.
Greef Karga flashed a gentle smile towards the two of you, before clearing his throat to officiate the wedding.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Din and (y/n) in matrimony. Here we are, witnessing this wonderful commitment from these two. Now, Din, you will begin with your vows for your bride."
The Mandalorian took a deep breath, remembering the brief conversation he had with Greef just minutes ago. If his vows were genuinely coming from his heart, then there was nothing to be nervous about.
"(Y/n)(L/n). I remembered seeing you for the first time as the dishwasher stowaway in my ship, and not wanting to do anything with you as soon as I dropped you off the nearest planet. I thought you were a burden at first. But when we were tasked to retrieve the egg of a mudhorn from Jawas, you did something that was unexpected; you risked you life just to save me. Thus, severely injuring yourself in the process. Then you had another heroic moment during our stay in Sorgan; you finally revealed that you were a Jedi. But not just any Jedi, you were the one that the empire was willing to pay a handsome reward to bring you in alive. At first, I did want to bring you in. But something had just made me not want to do it anymore, I just couldn't bring myself to bring you in any longer. As the weeks passed by with us spending time together, I then realized that I was falling madly in love you, and that I had to tell you one way or another. This very planet here is where I confessed my true feelings for you, and I'm glad I did. Because if I never told you, maybe we would have never known our feelings for each other. I'm also glad that you're here alive and healthy by my side. I can never imagine to lose you again. Thank you for not hesitating to sacrifice yourself to protect us against the enemy. (Y/n), you have always been beautiful ever since I laid my eyes on you. But did I mention that you're just so beautiful tonight? Did I also mention that you're brave and selfless? I could go on days just saying stuff about you in my vows. I don't know how to repay you for all that you've done. But I know that I can promise to be an excellent husband to you, and an amazing father to Grogu. I love you."
"Din Djarin. My first memories of you was me being scared that you'd kill me, honestly. But me secretly being a Jedi at that time, I could sense that there was something different about you. You were more than just a bounty hunter in search of money, you were someone who knew from right to wrong. When you defied the bounty hunter guild, and took Grogu with you, that was when I especially knew that you valued his life and worth more than money. I saw you risk your life for him many times, and I admired that about you. I remembered when we had to help Toro Calican find Fennec Shand, and that entire time, I sensed the emotion of jealousy within you every time Toro came close to me. Those little gestures that you did at our short stay in Tatooine was when I knew my feelings for you grew stronger by the second. We have gone through so much together along with Grogu in just a span of a few months. Now we're back in this planet, my favourite planet, where you first confessed to me. Here is where you showed me how you truly looked like under that helmet. Now I get to see that handsome face of yours here everyday. I can say so much about you. I'm so glad you chose to marry me. I love you too."
Excited coos emitted from the little green bean as the two of you finished with your vows. He then looked up to his aunt Cara, who happened to be wiping her tears of joy away.
"Hey, I'm just happy your parents are finally getting married, little one."
"Din Djarin. Do you take (y/n)(l/n) as your wife in sickness and in health?"
"I do."
"And (y/n)(l/n). Do you also take Din Djarin as your husband in sickness and in health?"
"I do."
"By the power vested in me, you may now kiss the bride."
With one smooth motion, the Mandalorian then grabbed you by the small of your back, slowly dipping you, and made contact with your lips to seal that promise forever. The atmosphere was just picture perfect. The sun was halfway down the horizon, giving it that golden shade all over the beautiful beach.
"I love you, cyar'ika," Din whispered lovingly at you.
"I love you too, cyar'ika."
The New Republic marshal placed her fingers by her lips, whistling towards the both of you cheerfully. Grogu let out adorable giggles, happy to see his parents would be staying together forever.
As the two of you walked back, you then went towards Cara, handing the bouquet of flowers to her.
"Maybe you and Luke Skywalker are next," you winked to your friend.
"H-hey! I only admire that man for his heroism and good heart," her cheeks reddened as she grabbed the flowers.
The sun had nearly set, giving off the perfect romantic vibe of the tropical beach wedding. Explosions of pinks and violets surrounded the glistening ocean, with and the Mandalorian standing and staring at the horizon.
"Beautiful."
"Yeah. The sunset is beautiful, isn't it Din?"
"I meant you, cyar'ika," he slid his hand onto yours, bringing the back of your palm by his lips and planting a gentle kiss on it. "I'll remind you that every single day as long as I breathe."
***
You looked onto the horizon of the ocean. The soft sounds of the waves soothed you, the smell of salt lingering in your nostrils from the gentle breeze of the wind as the palms trees swayed along. Life was just perfect after over year of marriage with Din Djarin.
You sensed the presence of the Mandalorian as he walked towards you, with Grogu in his arms. A smile graced on your lips seeing your husband and your son, waking up blissfully from a good night's sleep. You looked down towards a sleeping child in your arms; it was your daughter, only a few months old. Grogu was now an older brother.
"She's strong with the force, Din."
"You'll make a great mother and master, my cyar'ika."
You averted your gaze towards the little green bean, who's head nodded excitedly. You were glad that you were able to communicate with Grogu through the force, having understood that he also mentioned you would be a great Jedi Master.
"Thank you, both of you. Din?"
"Yes, (y/n)?"
"Would you mind reaching into my pocket? I've got something that I've been meaning to show you and Grogu."
The Mandalorian did as he was told, revealing an ancient artifact that was known to the Jedi. Grogu's posture perked up, as his father was confused to the item he was holding.
"What is this?"
"A Jedi holocron," you smiled at your confused husband. "I've kept this safe with me throughout these years. My master gave this to me before he passed, and told me that I would open it when the time is right. I think now is the perfect time."
"What does it contain?"
"Jedi holocrons contain lists of force-sensitive children throughout the galaxy. If I'm able to gather these children and train with the ways of the force, then I would be fulfilling my duty as a Jedi Master. I will train Grogu, our daughter, and these children along with Luke Skywalker."
"And I'll be here with you every step of the way, (y/n)."
You looked towards your left, you saw the force ghosts of your master along with Yoda. The both of them were smiling proudly at you, knowing that you would be one of the greatest Jedi Masters.
