Moff Gideon had just witnessed you effortlessly destroy his war machines in a matter of minutes. You really meant it when you said he'll regret what he just told you, as well as he had underestimated the abilities in which you possess. He was left completely flabbergasted. The stories that Darth Vader had told him about you were undoubtedly true.
Many of the plans he carefully cultivated in his mind had now been thrown out of the window. The empire ruling the galaxy now seems more far-fetched than reality at this point. This was all because you had overpowered the control of that chip, refusing to follow any of his orders for the empire's benefit and gain.
"I have destroyed all of your dark troopers... I will also not be eliminating Din Djarin, nor will I bring the child to you. I will not let the empire use Grogu and I as your weapons. Now, I will say this to you again. Surrender now, Moff Gideon."
Your lightsaber hummed, its blue glow only mere inches away from Moff Gideon. He stood still before you, bearing a frightened expression. His grip onto hilt of the darksaber tightened as his entire form quivered from you.
"You have ruined all of my plans... Jedi scum," the Moff hissed with poison laced in his tone. "If you think you have taken control of that inhibitor chip, then I will see to it myself that you will watch your beloved Mandalorian die. I will make sure to kill another important individual in your life."
"I won't let you do that again, Moff Gideon." You clenched your jaw.
You glanced behind you, spotting the Mandalorian being surrounded by the endless amounts of stormtroopers. Every single blaster had raised and aimed towards the armoured man, with all the troopers awaiting for further orders from Moff Gideon.
"With a single command, my troopers will shoot Din Djarin... But just enough to make his miserable self suffer. I myself will deliver the final kill."
You could sense the exhaustion creeping up within the Mandalorian. He fought a great amount of stormtroopers on his own with as much strength he could muster. Din and your companions have gone through great lengths in order to rescue you, and for that, you made sure not to fail them.
"You and your troopers are gonna have to kill me first before you even dare try to harm Din."
"As you wish, Jedi. Troopers, eliminate Din Djarin."
The stormtroopers cocked their blasters all pointed towards the armoured man, with him shakily raising his beskar spear, fearful that this might just be his last stand. The troopers began to fire, but instead of their blaster fire inflicting harm onto the Mandalorian, the troopers who stood closest in the front had collapsed dead on the ground.
Din slowly looked up to see you standing protectively in front of him, with you holding your lightsaber in a fighting stance.
"(Y/n)...?" The armoured man called out your name breathlessly.
"I'm here, Din. Don't worry." You flashed a reassuring smile. "You think you can still take down a few more of them?"
"Well, now that I've got your help, this will make things a whole lot easier."
"What the- when did she get here?!" One of the stormtroopers yelled out.
"It doesn't matter! We have orders from Moff Gideon to shoot the Mandalorian!"
"Are you serious?! How are we supposed to do that when the Jedi is here?? She killed ten troopers at a time just by deflecting our blaster fires with her laser sword!"
"Just blast them both!"
"You take the right side, I'll take the left side!"
The Mandalorian nodded in agreement and did as he was told. He glanced every so often at you, still amazed at how you were able to handle your own with your Jedi skills. He didn't think he would ever get used to it. The way with how swiftly you moved, how you were able to adapt to immediately adapt to your surroundings of the environment, using the force against your enemies, and how skillful you were with your lightsaber. It had truly entranced him.
With the two of you occupied facing the multiple stormtroopers, neither of you had realized that Moff Gideon had walked towards your direction. The Mandalorian's direction to be particular. The high-ranking imperial man then analyzed the areas of Din's body had no protection from beskar. He realize that his neck had no protection, and decided that it was the best area to pierce it with the darksaber.
The darksaber hummed as Moff Gideon ignited it, raising the weapon in the air. But before the Moff could strike the Mandalorian, you were able to sense his motives, force pushing him away with your free hand to the other side of the bridge room. With your hand that held onto your lightsaber, you then force pushed the stormtroopers against the closest wall.
"Stay away from him," you growled at the high-ranking imperial officer.
The older man then stood up on his feet again, colliding the darksaber against your blue lightsaber.
"No matter how many troops I send, you still manage to kill them all! Now, I cannot even eliminate Din Djarin because you are here standing in my way! You have made everything far too difficult for me! It would be much better if you were to side with the empire, considering how powerful you are."
"Over my dead body. I will never use the ways of the force for evil!" You spat out.
"(Y/n) would never stoop as low as a womp rat like you, Moff Gideon," the armoured man's modulated voice echoed from behind.
Footsteps were heard, prompting you to glance from behind and seeing your companions along with Dr. Ershing by the entrance of the bridge room, with Grogu safe in the arms of Cara Dune.
"Surrender now, Moff Gideon. You are beaten, and outnumbered," you declared.
"How unwise of you to think that I do not have a backup plan for all of this," Moff Gideon grinned evilly, activating something in his com-link.
You felt the star destroyer become unstable, knocking everyone out of balance.
"Moff Gideon, what the hell did you do...?" You stammered.
"It saddens me that I had become so desperate to resort to this final act. I have overcharged the stabilizer core. In a matter of minutes, this entire star destroyer will be blown to pieces along with anything and anyone on board. Even when I do end up dying, so as long as there are remnants of the empire, we will rise to rule over the galaxy once again."
The high-ranking imperial officer aimed his blaster towards his throat, but was force pushed by you before he could even shoot himself. Moff Gideon flung across the room, his back landing against the wall that knocked him unconscious.
"Cara, bring him aboard the Razor Crest for questioning. Everyone else, we need to get out of here before this entire ship explodes!" Din yelled out, leading the way to towards the hangar.
The rebel-dropper placed Grogu into the Mandalorian's arms as she slung Moff Gideon onto her shoulder.
Flames spewed out from every direction you all took in the hallways of the star destroyer, leaving everyone with little to no options.
"Take this one hallway over here!" Dr. Ershing pointed out, "It goes towards the east wing and will lead us to the hangar where your ship resides!"
You all agreed with the bespectacled man, running after his lead before the flames behind could consume you. With all of you finally reaching the destination of the hangar, you made your way towards the Razor Crest. In a matter of seconds, the flames engulfed the ships that remained idle in their stations as everyone else made it in the Mandalorian's flying aircraft.
"Go! I'll buy us some time with the flames while you prepare the Razor Crest to get out of here!" You yelled out at Din, in which he grabbed you by the forearm.
"What?! No! I won't lose you again, (y/n)!"
"If I don't do this, we will all be blown up along with this star destroyer! Get inside the ship while I stall the flames as much as I can!" You took one last glance at the Mandalorian, holding onto his hand gently, "I'm a Jedi. It's my duty to put others safety before myself. If I don't make out of this alive, then at least I'll know you and everyone else will have the chance to escape. I love you, Din."
With that, you detached yourself from the armoured man, stretching your hands out and created a force shield towards the hungry fires from the explosion.
"(Y/n)!" The Mandalorian cried out for your name, tears uncontrollably streaming down his cheeks.
You faced him halfway, stretching your right hand to freeze him on his tracks as he helplessly watched you attempt to decrease the impact of the explosion. The both of you looked into each other's eyes one last time. The Mandalorian sees you with a scrunched expression of unimaginable pain, raw power, fury and all, and you were empathizing with him. But you still let out a gentle smile to Din Djarin despite all the pain that built up within your exhausted self.
With the armoured man still not on board the ship, Cara took it upon herself to start the Razor Crest. The explosion's impact had grown stronger as you struggled to push it away. With your other hand, you force pushed Din towards the open ramp door of the Razor Crest, closing it shut and force pushing the ship out of the hangar. Cara piloted the ship away from the star destroyer, as everyone witnessed you bravely fighting the flames on your own.
The force shield that you created had given just enough time for the Razor Crest to escape far enough into space.
"(Y/n)!" The Mandalorian hit the window with the sides of his fists, "Get the ship back there, now!"
"Mando, we're all gonna be blown to bits if we do that!" Greef shook him by his shoulders, hoping to knock some sense into him.
"I don't care! Turn the ship around, Cara!"
But before the rebel-dropper could even react, the entire star destroyer had been consumed by the explosion, along with you inside it.
"What... No... No.. No! No! NOOO! (y/n)! NOOO!! DANG FARRIK! NO!" The Mandalorian's voice cracked and collapsed onto the floor with his knees. Heavy tears streamed down his cheeks as he let out uncontrollable sobs.
"Din... I'm so sorry..." Cara's voice faded as she wiped her tears with the back of her palm.
"We're too late... I'm terribly sorry," Dr. Ershing casted his face towards the ground.
"I'm sorry, Mando..."
"(Y/n)'s gone...." Din's voice trailed off into a whisper.
The Mandalorian removed his helmet, throwing it across the cockpit out of grief and anger. At this point, he didn't care for his creed as everyone was able to see how he looked like. He just wanted to dry his tears, and wished he could go back in time to save you.
He felt a tiny hand dry his tears as his breath became staggered. Din opened his teary-soaked eyes to find Grogu standing in front of him. The child gurgled, pointing to a direction with his index finger.
"Not now, kid... We just lost (y/n) again..."
"Wait," Cara interrupted the armoured man's grieving. "Grogu did the same when we were looking for Dr. Ershing."
"What are you trying to say?" The Mandalorian stood up to his feet with Grogu in his arms.
"She's right, Mando. I think the little fella is on to something. We just need to trust him again."
Grogu kept his arm outstretched, his finger persistently pointing to the direction as the Razor Crest flew by the remains of the star destroyer.
Large and small pieces of scrap metal of the once glorious flying vessel were scattered across floating in dead space. The chances of finding you in all this rubble are extremely low. But Grogu seemed to think otherwise and was determined you were going to be found. His large pointy ears perked up as the Razor Crest went deeper into the aftermath. Excited coos emitted from the little green bean as he jumped in his place, raising his arms up towards the Mandalorian to be carried.
The child closed his eyes, feeling your presence get stronger by the second. "Batamatu!" Grogu called out and pointed to something non-metal that was floating.
As the ship drew closer, the lights shone onto you floating unconsciously in the middle of all the mess. Grogu's ears consistently moved in up and down motions, sensing that you were still alive, but barely.
"It's (y/n)!!" The Mandalorian called out teary-eyed, placing his helmet onto his head. "Cara, open the ramp door! I'll fly out there and bring her in. My helmet can briefly stand the pressure of space."
The rebel-dropper did as she was instructed, opening the door as the armoured man immediately set out to get you into the ship. A blue ray shield provided as a cover as the ramp door opened. Din flew straight towards your direction, taking you safely into his arms as he carried you bridal style and flew towards the Razor Crest.
"(Y/n)..." He breathed out, tears streaming down once again as he witnessed you half frozen from deep space.
Once the both of you were inside, the Mandalorian had placed you onto a spare table in the second floor of the ship, now turning that into a temporary medical room. Everyone had surrounded you to see what your condition was like. You were just barely clinging onto life.
"Dr. Ershing, there must be something you can do to save her... Is she going to make it??" Din removed his helmet, seeing how you really looked like with his own eyes.
"I'm afraid that her chances are extremely low no matter what I try to do..." The scientist casted his head downwards. "But I will do whatever it takes to save her life. It is the least I could do in from her sacrifice, and your friends saving my life as well."
"Please do whatever you can to save her life, doctor."
The bespectacled man grabbed his bag containing his equipment, standing beside you analyzing your form.
"It is a miracle that she's survived for this long in the middle of space."
"She is extremely strong with the force," the armoured man breathed out.
"I will begin by spraying her with a great amount of bacta liquid. As you can see, she has sustained many injuries from the explosion. But since she is still alive, her chances of being save gotten slightly higher." Dr. Ershing went ahead to spray your entire body with the liquid.
The Mandalorian and Grogu watched as the scientist did what he could to save your life. Din's heart pounded like a drum against his ribcage, hopeful that you will wake up soon.
"Din Djarin, if you would allow me, I must also extract the inhibitor chip from her head. I am fully aware that she has overcome its control, but I need to take it out in order for her to truly be free from the grasp of the empire. I must warn you that it is a risky operation."
"Yes. Anything for (y/n) to be free from the empire."
"Very well. I will begin the procedure of the removal right away."
With that, Dr. Ershing had began to remove the chip. In a matter of minutes, the device had been extracted from your brain. But just as the doctor had warned, it was a rather risky operation.
"I have done everything I can. For now, all we can do is monitor her progress of healing and see if she will awake from her slumber any time soon. I will leave the Jedi in your care now. Excuse me."
"Thank you," the Mandalorian watched as Dr. Ershing had made his way towards the cockpit.
He sat beside you onto the table, taking a hold of your hand into his much larger ones. He placed your hand onto his lips, gently planting butterfly kisses on them. Tears streamed down his cheeks once again. He's never cried this much since that dreadful day his parents had been killed. He almost lost you twice, and he was determined not to let go, not this time.
Grogu plaed his tiny hand onto your other hand, closing his eyes as he put all his focus onto the force.
"(Y/n)."
"Grogu?" Your sub-conscience called out his name.
"Thank you for what you did, please live for us."
"Alive you are, young one."
"Master Yoda?! Whoa, this is my third time seeing you."
"The youngling is right, my former apprentice. You must live. It is the will of the force as to why you are still alive."
"Master... I was prepared to die. But I didn't expect to survive the explosion."
"Chosen for you to live, the force has, hmm?" Yoda did his signature giggle once again.
"Sometimes, just when I thought I finally understood the force, things just get more complicated like this," you scratched your head in confusion.
"Hard to understand the force is, young one. Strong you are with the force. Pass on what you have learned, taught young Luke Skywalker I have. Pass on what he has learned to children strong with the force as well."
"Master Yoda is right, (y/n). There are very few Jedi left in the galaxy, you and young Skywalker included. Pass on the new teachings of the Jedi. Do not make the same mistakes the Order did in the past. Teach children who are strong with the force, the Jedi Order will return with a new mindset. Both master Yoda and I have faith in you and young Skywalker."
"This is an extremely great responsibility to bare, but I will do what I must."
"No longer a Jedi knight you are, but a master now, hmm?"
"W-what?! I-I don't know what to say master Yoda. I've become a Jedi Knight and now a master in such a short amount of time. It feels a little undeserving."
"Ah, but deserve it yes, you do."
"(Y/n)," your former master called you reassuringly, "You have proven yourself to be quite the Jedi, and what many of us could not do... And that was to face our fears. You did not hesitate to save the life of your friends by sacrificing yourself. That is why you are granted the rank of master, if you would accept it."
"Yes, of course. This is the greatest honour I could ever receive," you knelt down before your masters.
"Rise, my former apprentice. You are now a Jedi master."
"Now, wake up you must, hmm?"
"Thank you, my masters. I won't fail you. This is for the next generations of Jedi."
"Farewell, (y/n). Until we meet again."
"Until we meet again, my masters."
The Mandalorian had not left your side no matter how long it would take for you to wake up again. He had kept watch over you to monitor your progress in what seemed like hours now. For awhile, nothing has changed, until he felt movement from your fingers.
"(Y/n)?!" He choked out as tears streamed down his cheeks.
Slowly but surely, you had finally opened your eyes to see the not a helmet, but the familiar face of your favourite person. You weakly moved your hand and wiped his tears, faintly smiling at his warmth.
"Why are you crying, cyar'ika?"
His breath hitched from that very word. Cyar'ika is a Mandalorian term, and he hasn't heard that word being spoken by a Mandalorian in years. But hearing you say that sounded like sweet music to his ears.
"I'm just glad you're back, cyar'ika..." Din scooped you up bridal style and enveloped your entire body in the security of his arms.
He took a deep breath of relief and satisfaction, inhaling your scent as his smile stretched from ear to ear. The great amount of joy that he felt knowing that you were alive and well was immeasurable. Din felt so overwhelmed that he could faint, but not in a bad way of course. His lips met with yours after what felt like an eternity. The kiss was gentle with a hint of desperation as the Mandalorian sobbed in between.
He spotted Grogu looking up at the two of you as the Mandalorian gently picked him up, planting a kiss on his green wrinkly head.
"She's alive all thanks to you, kid! I'm happy that we listened to you, because you were the one who sensed (y/n) without giving up. If we didn't listen to your guts, it would have probably been too late to save her life. Thank you, Grogu. The two of you are the most important ones in my life..." The Mandalorian's voice trailed off, his fingers gently caressing your cheek.
"I know Din, I know. I'm here now, and I won't be leaving you again."
"I almost lost you for the second time. You sacrificed yourself twice just to save all of us... I don't know how to ever thank you properly, (y/n)."
"I think I know how," you leaned towards the Mandalorian, your lips meeting with his once again.
"I won't lose you again, (y/n). Not this time. I don't know what to do if you were gone again."
"I won't be going anywhere this time. I'm here to stay with you." Your gaze averted to an excited Grogu, "As for you, little one, I wanted to thank you for not giving up on me. I was able to wake up for a few seconds in deep space when I sensed your presence. You're growing stronger with the force with each day that passes by, Grogu."
"I think we should let everyone else know that you're awake now, don't you think?" The armoured man chuckled.
You let out a laugh in return, climbing up the ladder towards the cockpit as you were in everyone's view. Cara was the first to react as she ran towards you, wrapping her arms around your shoulders into an embrace.
"You're alive! I-I can't believe it, you finally woke up. Thank you, for saving our skins back there, (y/n)..." Her voice trailed off as she wiped a few tears that made their way down her cheeks.
"You Jedi have always been honourable. You did the impossible and got Moff Gideon captured in our grasp! That was the bravest I've ever seen anyone, thank you, (y/n)." Greef eyed the armoured man who stood directly beside you, "Mando, you better be taking good care of her. Because you can't just find girls like her anywhere in the galaxy."
"Yeah, don't worry. I will," the Mandalorian's lip twitched to a smile as he took a hold of your hand, looking at you ever so tenderly.
"He already has been, Greef," you smiled back at the armoured man.
"You are alive," a familiar voice called out, it was Dr. Ershing.
Your eyes widened as you ran up to the scientist, wrapping your arms around him in an embrace, "Thank you, Dr. Ershing. I knew you were a good man to begin with."
"Forgive me, young one. It was not my intention to inflict any harm in you. Moff Gideon had threatened me on a daily basis during my stay with the empire. He threatened to kill me if I didn't insert that chip inside your head. But I have extracted it now, and you survived that risky operation."
"All the more reason why you are indeed a good man, Dr. Ershing. Thank you for freeing me from Moff Gideon."
"It's an honour, Jedi Knight."
"Actually, it's Jedi Master now."
"Master??" Everyone called out.
