"Most impressive, Jedi. Now, bring the child to me," Moff Gideon motioned you to come closer to him.
You did as you were told. But before you could reach to the Moff, Grogu placed his hands onto your temples. A surge of great energy pulsed throughout your head, making you stop in your tracks.
"This isn't who you are. Remember, you are a Jedi knight fighting against the empire, not with them." It was Grogu's voice reaching out to you through the force.
"Yes, a Jedi knight you are."
"Master Yoda?!"
"Fight the control, my former apprentice. Use your feelings."
"Master?!"
You couldn't exactly explain what was going on right now. But Grogu had somehow reached out to the very depths of your core with the force. It seems that your inner sub-conscience, your real self, had been seeing the force ghosts of your former masters once again. But this time, it was in your mind. You weren't aware that you had done things out of your control until Grogu had confronted you.
"Strong with the force you have become, young one," Master Yoda pointed out to Grogu, "An excellent master, she is to you."
"What would you have me do, my masters?"
"You need to fight this control, (y/n)."
"But master Orula, I was able to regain full control for merely a few seconds only. This inhibitor chip that was used on the clones has been altered to control the mind of a Jedi. The doctor the empire has recruited seems to know his way around this device."
"Altered the chip, this doctor has?"
"Yes master," you nodded, "the last time I've heard about this inhibitor chip was during the clone wars. Kaminoans built this device to control clones and make them believe the Jedi committed treason. And I think this doctor did the same for me. Only, my goal is to eliminate Din Djarin at all costs. I will not abide to that... Because I love him."
"You must do everything that you can to fight this, (y/n). You are my most powerful apprentice, and one of the very few younglings to become a padawan at such a young age. I need you to have faith in yourself, as I have had faith in you in all my years of teaching you."
"But master, Moff Gideon has complete control over me. It was hard enough that my true self, and now you want me to fight all of this with the chip still in my head?"
"Have faith in you, your apprentice does, hmm?" Yoda closed his eyes, doing his signature giggle, "Find this doctor, yes. Remove the chip from your head, he can. Fight this control, you must."
"Master Yoda is right, my former apprentice. This little one has great faith in you, and you have taught him so well in such a short amount of time."
"But all I've taught him were a few techniques so far, master."
"His attachment to you is very strong. You are like a mother to him, and that has made him very strong."
"Strong you are with the force, Grogu."
The little green bean's large pointy ears perked up from hearing grandmaster Yoda mention his name. It has been a very long time since he's seen the green master. Much like how Yoda is delighted to see someone of the same species as him.
You felt tiny arms wrap around your leg, it was Grogu wanting to be picked up by you, in which you did. The child looked at you tenderly with his dark large beady eyes. He reached his hand out towards your face, placing it there gently as he caressed it. You closed your eyes for a moment and allowed Grogu to do so. Tears had streamed down your cheeks from feeling the love this child had for you. The faith he and your masters had in you when you didn't have it yourself, and your love for the Mandalorian was surely enough to motivate you to fight the control that has taken over you.
"I'm ready to fight this, my masters," your gaze averted to Grogu's, then back to your masters as they both nodded in agreement.
"Indeed you are, my former apprentice."
"Strong you are with the force, and powerful you are to defeat this Moff Gideon."
"Thank you for believing in me, my masters." With that, you all smiled and gestured a bow to each other .
You shook your head as you finally were brought back to reality. The faint sounds of clanking and blaster fires echoed throughout your head. Opening your eyes, you witnessed the scenery of fighting. On one end, were Greef and Cara taking cover as they took turns firing at a squad of stormtroopers. Of course, taking out those lousy foot soldiers with ease. On the other end, was the loud clanking noise of beskar and the darksaber. The Mandalorian took Moff Gideon head on, seeming to be able to hold himself on his own for now.
Despite his age, Moff Gideon was a skilled fighter with the darksaber. He was swift, studying the Mandalorian's maneuvers and mimicking them to block the armoured man's attacks. For a moment, the both of them seem to be in equal strength. As no one had overpowered the other.
Everything in your surrounding had slowed down as you gazed upon Grogu, who was still snuggled in the safety of your arms. He cooed excitedly, sensing that your true self had emerged despite the inhibitor chip still inserted in your head. It wasn't easy to fight this control, but you were able to hold it off by disciplining yourself with the force.
With Grogu still in your arms, you walked slowly towards the Mandalorian and Moff Gideon as they still fought. The Moff looked at you with an assured expression, unaware that you were now in control of yourself once again.
"You're too late, Din Djarin. Your beloved Jedi is here and will hand herself and the child to me. Then, they will both be used for the empire to gain power in its glory as it should always have."
"I'm afraid that's not going to happen, Moff Gideon," you ignited your lightsaber, the tip of the blue glow pointed towards his direction.
"I-impossible," Gideon stammered.
"(Y/n)??" The Mandalorian hitched out an exhausted breath.
"Yes, Din. I'm back again," you smiled, handing the little green bean for the armoured man to hold.
"Jedi knight (y/n), I order you to eliminate Din Djarin right at this instant!" The Moff yelled out.
You felt the twinge of the chip's energy pulse radiate within you. Your lightsaber shut off as the pain sent you down on all fours as you fought against it. You screamed from the pain that you felt from your head, fighting the control as much as you could.
"You dare disobey me?! Kill Din Djarin and bring the child back to me!"
"Moff Gideon, that's enough!" The Mandalorian growled.
Greef and Cara came running to your aid as soon as they heard you scream. The three of them knelt down beside you in a protective stance against the Moff.
"G-go and find... Dr. Ershing..." You instructed Greef and Cara, your whole body staggering as you as you got up on your feet. "Go! I believe he can remove the chip in my head."
"What chip are you talking about?!" The rebel-dropper asked in a confused manner.
"No time to explain! Just go find Dr. Ershing, quickly!"
"Take Grogu with you both. I'm finishing this fight with (y/n)." the armoured man handed the child over to Cara.
"We'll keep him safe with us, Mando," Greef gave a dismissive nod and headed off.
"May the force be with the both of you," you gestured as your two companion set off to find the doctor.
The Mandalorian quickly ran to your side, checking up on any further physical injuries inflicted upon you. He was so concerned about your well-being that he nearly forgot about his own self.
"Din, I'm fine," you chuckled through the pain you felt.
"I just needed to make sure, (y/n)."
"How unwise for you to think that Dr. Ershing would be at your service. His loyalty lies to the empire alone." Moff Gideon grinned evilly. "Foolish of you to think that your Jedi mind tricks would be of use."
"I don't need to use that, Dr. Ershing is a good man. I sensed it before he inserted the chip in my brain."
"You'll pay for what you did to (y/n)," the Mandalorian growled against his clenched teeth.
"And what makes you think that she can keep fighting the control I have over her?"
"Because I won't kill Din no matter how many times you try to tell me... Even with the chip inside my head," you pointed your lightsaber towards Moff Gideon once again.

Greef and Cara ran in the hallways filled with stormtroopers and blasted their way through them. Grogu was carried safely with Cara's free arm, shielding him from the fire blasters of the troopers. The older guild member stood behind the rebel-dropper as he covered for her.
"Any idea where this Dr. Ershing (y/n) mentioned is?" Greef panted as he jogged behind the ex-shock trooper.
"Keep an eye out for someone who looks like a scientist. Until then, blast anyone who wears stormtrooper armour!"
"I like the way you think, shock trooper!"
The little green bean peeked through an opening area from Cara's arm. He spotted endless amounts of stormtroopers appearing from every corner, and he knew that his two companions could only do so much by themselves without the help from neither you or the Mandalorian. Grogu stretched both his hands out, closing his eyes as a few troopers levitated in the air. With a single motion from his hands, the troopers lunged forwards against the wall.
Everyone froze for a seconds in shock from what they had just witnessed. The stormtroopers stood dumbfounded in their tracks as they saw their fallen comrades being flung in the air. They couldn't have sworn you weren't there to use the force against them.
"Huh. That force Jedi stuff is really handy when you're not choking your own friends with that," Cara slightly grimaced from the recent incident that involved her being force choked by Grogu.
The child gazed at her with a completely innocent expression. His sweet googly eyes acting as if that incident had never even existed.
"I knew he would do that magic hand thing again!" Greef yelled in satisfaction.
"Did that thing made them fly in the air?" A stormtrooper asked.
"Yeah, he did." Cara rolled her eyes in annoyance, shooting that clueless trooper, "Now get out of the way before I ask him to do it again."
"You heard the lady. Get a move on it!" The older guild member yelled at the scurrying troopers, in which they all still stayed in place.
"Hold the kid, will you?" The rebel dropper handed the little green bean over to Greef to keep him safe.
The built woman then proceeded to grab her machine gun blaster from behind her, shooting down the lousy troopers refusing to get out of their way. Those who managed to comer closer to her were unfortunate to feel the pain of her fists as she was able to to penetrate her punches through some of their helmets. The pieces of the cracked helmets flew everywhere as the painful screams of the troopers echoed throughout the hallways. Grabbing two of them at a time by their shoulders, she bashed the poor men together, knocking them unconscious on the ground.
Her older companion looked at her impressed, but not surprised at the same time. He knew perfectly well what Cara was capable of doing to unfortunate stormtroopers, considering that he's witnessed her either shooting or punching them back in Nevarro.
During the middle of the fight, Grogu's entire posture had perked up. He then stretched his arm out, pointing his index finger in a certain direction as he cooed excitedly. His large beady eyes met with Cara's fierce eyes, but slowly softened up as she saw the adorable expression the child bore. She spotted him pointing forward, attempting her best to try to understand what he was trying to say.
Without you, the only other force user around, it was just impossible to understand what the little green bean's gestures meant. One thing for sure was that Grogu just kept pointing forward persistently.
"I have no clue what you're trying to tell me, little guy. But I''m gonna trust your guts and follow your directions."
"I hope he knows where he's taking us," Greef glanced behind to check if there was anyone following them.
"Well, he did help us with some of the stormtroopers earlier. So I'm guessing he's helping us with something else this time. Din and (y/n) trust him with their lives, and I think we should do the same too."
"All right. Take us wherever you need to take us, little guy," Greef nodded in agreement.
The trio came across a heavily guarded area of the hallway filled with stormtroopers standing in unison. Cara abruptly stopped herself along with her older companion to prevent from being spotted by the troopers, their backs pushed against the wall. It was a close call.
"Hey, little guy. We trusted you back there. Are you sure this is the right place? Look at all these guards!" The ex-shock trooper asked in an unsure tone.
Grogu only smiled and nodded, knowing for sure he was leading them where they needed to go.
"We just blasted our way through a million stormtroopers. And now we have to go through all of this again for just one doctor? I hope you know what you're doing, little fella. Why don't you do that magic hand thing again you did earlier?"
The only response Greef got from the little green bean was a mere wave and giggle. It seemed that they would have to blast their way through endless amounts of troopers once again.
"Well, if that's where Grogu tells us to go, then I guess we don't have a choice," Cara stuck her arms out and shot a stormtrooper.
The troopers scattered like a bunch of womp rats as they watched their fellow comrade get shot from seemingly out of no where.
"Where did that blaster fire come from?!"
"Move out! We need to guard him at all costs!"
"Spread out! We'll flush out whoever did this!"
"Who are you guarding that you need this many troopers at a time?" Cara asked herself as she cocked her blaster with her free hand.
As the stormtroopers split up in smaller squadrons, so did Greef and Cara. Only, the both of them took out the troopers in a matter of seconds with their quick and precise aiming with their blasters. Something that these lousy foot soldiers were severely lacking in.
"That was easier than I thought it would be," Cara panted out.
Grogu pointed towards a sealed door, in which the rebel-dropper opened it, revealing Dr. Ershing being held hostage at gunpoint. An imperial officer had his arm locked around the trembling scientist, the end of his blaster placed against the side of his temple.
"Don't come any closer, rebel scum," the officer taunted as he cocked his blaster.
Greef and Cara stopped in the middle of their tracks, petrified of what the officer would do to the poor bespectacled man.
"P-please... Don't shoot!" Dr. Ershing cried out.
"Silence!" The officer pressed his blaster harder against his temple, "Listen up, rebels. Dr. Ershing is a cloning expert, and an important asset for the empire. If I shoot him, then he will not be able to perform on the child as he did with your Jedi friend. But Moff Gideon wouldn't know I was the one who shot him... Because you will be the ones to blame!"
"What did he do to (y/n)?" Cara asked.
"There's a chip-"
"Quiet, I said! Or I will seriously kill you!"
"No! Please, I beg of you!"
The conversation ended with a blast from Cara, the officer holding the doctor hostage collapsed dead onto the cold hard ground.
"You can be extremely terrifying," Greef winced.
The trembling doctor looked up at his saviours, spotting Grogu being held safely in Cara's free arm.
"Thank you, for saving me there. I am glad the child is safe-"
"Cut the chatter. We need to know what chip you were talking about that involved (y/n)."
Dr. Ershing nodded cooperatively, "Of course. Please, allow me to get my equipment. If you do not trust me, then you can follow me for assurance. But you must believe that I am a good man."
***
Moff Gideon grinned evilly at you, "You truly do possess the traits of the Jedi of old, young one. Lord Vader has told me many stories about the Jedi when he was still alive, and you are the embodiment of your kind. So brave, yet so selfless. A weakness that has brought the downfall of the Jedi Order."
You felt your emotions stir within you, it was still a sensitive topic to talk about the downfall of the Order. Being one of the very few surviving Jedi in the galaxy after Order 66 had brought many hardships in your life. The Jedi Order was your entire life, and to have the entire thing brought down from the very chip that was inserted in your head had brought terrifying memories that resurfaced.
Deep down in your very core, you had wanted to avenge the death of the younglings, your fellow padawans, Jedi knights and masters. It definitely wasn't the way of the Jedi of old, but their stubbornness for change had brought the Order to their own downfall.
"Then I will avenge the fall of the Order," you growled, glaring at the Moff with a menacing gaze.
"Is it not the Jedi way to have revenge?"
"I will not make the same mistakes of the Order from the past. We realized our mistakes too late, but it's better late than never. If you have forgetten, Darth Vader was once Anakin Skywalker, and he now lives within the force. Darth Vader is no more. So stop chasing dreams that will never happen again, Moff Gideon."
Moff Gideon's upper lip twitched from your speech. It irked him to think that you possessed such great courage within you to talk back to a man of high position like himself.
"So be it, Jedi knight," he ignited the darksaber, as the bridge room was filled with stormtroopers once again.
"I'll handle these guys. You take Moff Gideon," the Mandalorian suggested. "And (y/n)."
"Yes, Din?"
"I'm really glad you're back. You think I can kiss you later?"
"We're in the middle of a fight and you have the time to flirt with me?" You chuckled from your boyfriend.
"Just making sure it really is you. I've missed you."
"Well, after this is all over, you won't have to. Cause I'll be with you until the end of all of this."
The both of you gestured a nod to each other before separating. The armoured man was occupied with battling the stormtroopers, while you fought with Moff Gideon. A hissing noise emitted as your lightsaber clashed against the darksaber.
"Surprised with how capable I am with the way of the sword? Lord Vader trained me when he still lived."
"It's sloppy, just like your charisma," you smirked.
The Moff clenched his jaw, screaming at the confidence that oozed from you, "You have the arrogance of a Jedi! I killed your master along with Lord Vader! You had no one left to look after you! You had nothing, because you are nothing!"
"You know, if you had a resume, you would be the perfect candidate to be the next sith lord considering you think a lot like one!"
"I think it suites me! Your entire Jedi Order failed because of the arrogance that you possessed! How does it feel to be cowering in the shadows while witnessing other surviving Jedi be slaughtered in the middle of daylight?"
"You of all people are cowards! You murdered my master when he was vulnerable and could no longer defend himself. You took my father-figure away from me! I may not be able to avenge the death of every Jedi after the purge, but I will avenge my master."
"Then you will have to kill me to prove your point, young one."
You felt a great amount of anger that engulfed you, enough to fuel you to kill Moff Gideon right here and there. You were perfectly aware that he was taunting you, guilt tripping you from your past failures. But just because you were now able to use your emotions, anger and hate should not be the driving motivation reason. There were still values of the Jedi of old that were worth keeping, such as being selfless and compassionate, even when faced against your enemies.
"I won't kill you, Moff Gideon. "The Jedi Order will return better than ever. Luke Skywalker has made sure of that, and as will I. As long as there is hope, it will triumph over the evil ways of the empire."
"How noble, but predictable," Moff Gideon grinned evilly, activating something on his com-link.
In a matter of seconds, a squad of dark troopers emerged from every corner of the bridge room. These troopers were large droids having the structure that was never seen before.
"These are my dark troopers. They are extremely difficult to fight, let alone be destroyed. Their mechanic system is far more superior than that of a standard droid manufactured. They are programmed to kill anyone they deem to be an enemy of the empire, except for you and the child. If you are as powerful as Lord Vader has told me, then you will prove to me by destroying my dark troopers, and then taking this dark saber from me."
"You'll regret that. I have been holding back, but I think I'll show your precious dark troopers witness how gifted I am with the force, as my master has told me during my years of training."
You faced the emotionless droids as they surrounded you in a circle. For a moment, you stood still. But to their surprise, you swiftly jumped up, landing on one the large droids as your lightsaber effortlessly cut through their tough armour as if it was butter. This had shocked the Moff, but not enough to terrify him as there were still more dark troopers left standing.
Without a second thought, you turned around as your saber cut through the metallic abdomen of the machinery. Sparks flew everywhere as the electricity whirred from its fried circuits, sending it down on its knees and eventually collapsing onto the ground.
Some of the dark troopers pointed their blasters towards you, and began firing at your direction. You deflected them with ease by using your lightsaber, their own blaster fire that ricocheted had struck them in the head. Stretching out your free hand, you pulled a trooper towards you, severing its body in half while you sent its broken parts towards its clueless comrades. With the last remaining droids, you had crushed their bodies into a ball like shape, leaving none of them standing.
Your gaze averted to a petrified Moff Gideon. For a moment, he stood still as a statue, fully not grasping how much your abilities have grown since he had last seen you as a padawan. It had truly terrified him, and he didn't know what you were going to do with him next.
"Enough of your games, Moff Gideon. Surrender now," you pointed your lightsaber towards his direction once again, stepping closer to him.
To be continued...
