Woah... Did Gray just protect me? He's so... wow.

"Uh, thanks, Gray!" I said and hugged him. I suddenly realized what I was doing and jumped back as my entire chest and arms got really bad frostbite. Lucy giggled and made a heart with her hands.

"N-no problem. Are you ok?" he asked when he saw me rubbing my purplish arms.

"Ye-yeah I'm fine." I light some fire and started to heat my arms back up.

"Is that... frostbite!?" Lucy asked worriedly.

"N-no!" I shivered.

"(y/n)! Don't lie!" Gray grabbed my arms and I pulled away quickly, whimpering. The frostbite where he had grabbed me was even worse. Gray had a hurt look on his face.

"Have I been causing it?" he asked quietly. I sighed.

"I might as well tell you guys. The guy challenging Master Makarov was my ex-boyfriend, Harry Coruptioa. When we broke up he lit my house on fire and left me to die. Before he got out, I tried to place a curse on him but failed. He noticed and he knew that my best friend at the time was an ice wizard, so he put a curse on me. My curse was whenever I touch an ice wizard, I get instant frostbite where they touched me. That's why I flinch when Gray touches me, or any ice wizard for that matter." I exhaled a breath and looked at everyone in turn. Lucy. Natsu. Gray... "I'm sorry I never told you guys. Curses can't be lifted, so I didn't see why I should make you pity me."

"We should get (y/n) signed up. And maybe Master Makarov can lift the curse! He is a Wizard Saint, after all!" Lucy cheered us up.

"Maybe..." I mumbled. I was worried about signing up to Fairy Tail. What if I wasn't good enough? What if I made my friends get hurt? What if Gray likes someone else? Woah! Where'd that last part come from!? I totally blushed and walked up to Master Makarov to hide it.

"Uh, Master Makarov?" I asked nervously. He looked up.

"Yes?"

"C-can I join Fairy Tail?" he studied me very closely, then looked behind me and saw my friends. He waved Gray over.

"What kind of magic do you do? And what's your name?" Makarov asked as Gray walked up.

"I do fire magic, but use some wind magic to strengthen my fire. And my name is (y/n) (l/n)." I said proudly. I suddenly felt Gray brush up next to me and flinched as my entire arm flared with instant frostbite. I saw Gray wince and shuffle away from me, which made my chest feel tight.

"Hmm. Gray, I want your opinion. Is this girl, (y/n), a good, honorable wizard?" Makarov asked Gray.

"You really want my opinion?" he glanced at Master, then me and I gulped. "She's the best wizard I know."
