"Mr Bakshi, I'm worried!" Edward snapped at his senior subtly.

Mr Bakshi looked at him sharply but said nothing.

"Teresa- I mean Agent Greene hasn't communicated with us since six months now. I'm sure this isn't just a small delay that you told me," he presented his worry.

Mr Bakshi rubbed his eyes with the heels of his palm. He knew it was true. This wasn't just a slight delay. It was a large silence. Six months meant that either nothing had happened or a lot had happened. He didn't like either of the two situations. He calmed himself with the thought that Agent Moore had taken seven months when the mission had been started, twenty years ago.

And look how that turned out.

"Maybe she will tell us soon now. I've known her for a long time Miller. She's being cautious," Mr Bakshi assured, more to himself than to Edward.

Edward ruffled his dark, brown hair and looked away. He had been worried before, but now he was afraid. He didn't say anything. He was lucky he had been included in the mission. It would've been torture to be left in the dark. He guiltily wondered if Teresa thought of him often. She had no idea he was in on the mission too. He hated lying to her. Edward walked out of the room and sat down at his desk. He laid his head on the table like a child. God knew he was tired.

"What the hell is taking you so much time," he grumbled.

"Whoa take care!" he heard a girl exclaim.

Edward looked up biliously, but there was no one around anymore.

Oh well.

He was about to get started on his work again when he got a call. It was Caleb.

.....

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yes!" Caleb answered with aggression.

The photo frame lay on the table before him, and he could barely wrap his head around all that had been told. What was this another mystery? He was too confused to figure anything out. Caleb, on the other hand, appeared to be calm.

"Does Teresa remember anything?" Edward questioned.

Caleb shrugged as he leaned back. His light brown eyes glittered in the daylight. The wind ruffled his wavy, black hair, and he scrunched his nose up in thought. Edward strangely found it rather cute.

"It's a psychological thing. You don't always remember your childhood. Then some remember every little detail of it. But it's us! It's us but with a different family. I know that lady, Catherine is our mum because I heard dad mutter about her once when drunk. Lately he's been acting all peaky. I have no one to trust anyone but you at this point.," Caleb sighed.

His black hair touched his eyebrows, and every time he moved his head, they would bounce too. Caleb softly massaged his head in frustration and exhaustion. Despite all the big news, Edward couldn't help but notice all the little things about Caleb like he always did. It made him happy to be with Caleb. Although Teresa was the closest thing he could have next to family, she could be difficult sometimes. Caleb was the type of person he genuinely felt pleasant to spend an entire day with. He was more of a friend than a brother.

"Has Mr Greene talked to you? About anything at all?"

Caleb shook his head, his wavy hair shaking themselves at the same time too. His eyes were suddenly sad but simultaneously active with adrenaline.

"No. He barely recalls my presence anymore since Teresa went away. I'm actually trying to overhear his conversations in the room. You know with whoever keeps visiting him," he said.

Edward nodded. He had been informed about that. He bent forward in a business-like manner.

"What do you want of me?" he wondered.

Caleb got up quickly and shoved all the files and pictures into his bag.

"I want you to research on my dad's profile. Anything that you find. Something tells me he is in some big mess. And I'm sure my dear sis is in it too"

"Teresa? Why do you think like that? She's on a mission," Edward pointed out, a bit defensively.

Caleb played with his tongue inside his mouth and shrugged. Edward squirmed uncomfortably at that.

"I don't know. But my dad starts having problems just as she leaves? That's a huge coincidence. And we journalists don't believe in coincidences"

That made a lot of sense.

Edward asked one last question.

"Why are you doing this?"

"The truth Edward. I wanna know the truth. Mine and Teresa's," came the reply.

That made a lot of sense too.

Away in Compton:

Teresa was shit scared. Oh, she was terrified to her bones. Her blood had run cold when she had heard they were about to attack the Scorpio's warehouse. Jordan had come up with that, and everyone had agreed to the plan. She didn't like the idea very much considering her previous mission had been tracking them down. In short, it was because of her that this particular gang was so broken. Yet here she was standing with the others and a small team of fighters behind her. Seth and Jordan were not present with them. They sat in the van. They were the getaway in case stuff got out of hand.

"I thought the gang had gone down," she whispered to Karen in the darkness of the night. Her watch had just hit 2 am.

"Oh no gangs never do actually go down. They are either disrupted or killed off. But we always have survivors who try to rebuild their empire if they are loyal and smart enough.," Karen informed her.

Teresa nodded. It didn't help with her nerves.

The warehouse, across the street, didn't look so large. It was just a small villa. All they had to do was shoot through and kill people. Simple and easy. However, Teresa had decided she wouldn't kill anyone. Just a shot in the legs if necessary. She was done being a part in their games.

"Oh look! A guy just opened the door!" someone said aloud.

"For us?"

"No honey. This guy is just peeing," Karen answered.

The group snickered behind her. Teresa's cheeks burned red as she saw the figure of a man relieve himself in the bushed surrounding the warehouse.

"Alright guys. Shoot 'em down!" Ben authoritatively ordered.

He carefully fired a gun, and the next thing Teresa saw was the man who had been peeing, fall on the grass with a soft thud. Men around her ran towards the warehouse with quiet, discreet steps.

"Ugh dammit!" she cursed as she followed.

.....

There wasn't much left.

All they had found inside were about ten men with guns playing cards. Everyone had been shot down, and there had been no casualties from their side. Some smart person had even thrown a smoke bomb inside the house. There was smoke everywhere, and Teresa just emptied her barrel into stray windows or floors. She had picked up a stray mobile from one of the dead men.

By now, she had gotten hold of snippets of information important enough to announce herself to the other people. The ones she paid her loyalty to.

Teresa scanned about her and found no one in sight. She moved carefully inside the house and away from the chaos, and dialled the only number that mattered to her.

Please pick up. Pick up. Pick u-
