Chapter 2: Stake to the heart!

Blue electricity flashed and moved faster than a blink of an eye. Past vehicles in the city, Isledur sprinted as any rogue would with their arms behind them and low to the ground. With each turn she'd make, lightning would glint and cause a nasty crack to echo when she'd push herself into a full sprint.

Her hidden eyes glanced at the device on her wrist to check her target's location and realized she was closing in on them. As quick as a lightning strike, she weaved. When she saw a skyscraper ahead of her, she quickly ran along its side with another crack echoing in her wake.

Just as she sped past the peak of the structure, she flipped and allowed the momentum to guide her over it. He's close... she pondered with strict determination and a strong tone. Amid her glide, Hyne peeked at her device and she nodded to herself.

Before gravity could tug on her form, she kicked her legs and electricity sparked once more. Faster and faster her legs moved, until a flash of blue light and a harsh thwack sound was left behind.

Like a streak of lightning through the sky, she rocketed across the cityscape. Heterochromia helmet eyes pierced the darkness of the night as she straightened out her body to keep herself from losing coordination.

When Iseldur was nearing the outskirts, she spotted the man in blue armor in the distance. The goth didn't hesitate to curl into herself to slow herself down. For she flipped and turned her form as a cat would during a steep descent and put her feet together.

As if she were a projectile herself, she shot across the remaining distance and stomped onto his backside. A quick skillful flip let her regain her footing and observed the way a tree fell over when he crashed into it. The pained grunt Iseldur heard as she watched him stumble away from the tree and look at her, was enough to make her crouch for combat.

From her sheathe, the blade was removed, and the blue, illuminated Stake was flipped to be held like a dagger. Despite its length being similar to a sword, she held it with promise and sprinted after the male. "Ah!" A long battle cry left her helmet, the anger behind it startled the man into taking out his own weapon and blocking her strike.

"Who are you?" He asked, but she didn't care. With a certain flick of her finger, electricity sparked around her form. From a nasty crack and a flash of blue, she had vanished.

Just as fast as she had disappeared, Iseldur emerged from the side with another crack echoing in her wake and smacked his blade away. This alerted the man in blue, for he drew his second blade out, brought it down, and collided it with hers.

"I won't ask you aga-!" Roaring with anger, the male clad in blue armor tried to threaten, but she paid his words no mind.

Instead, with a furious grunt, Iseldur knocked him onto his back with a foot gliding in a spin close to the ground and was quick to stand. There was no hesitation when the Stake was directed toward his heart, for she used both of her feet to hold his arms down to his sides. With amazing balance, the goth crouched, kept the Stake in place, and examined the stranger.

Weird. I don't see a mark anywhere on him. Heterochromia eyes examined his armor as her head moved accordingly. However, with her free hand, she grabbed his jawline, which earned her an annoyed grumble and an attempt to fight against her hold.

"Answer me!" Indignation dripped from his helmeted mouth when he kicked his legs to try and knock her off, only for his attempts to backfire. His thrashes forced her hand down to his throat and threw her closer to his face.

Hyne pressed the Stake a little harder against his armored chest and asked with aggression that she tried hard to hold back, "Where is it?" The determination to get information from him was as strong as a polar bear in the Arctic, that hunts down its prey to the ends of the Earth.

However, in her peripherals, she saw a woman clad in Kunoichi attire sprint in her direction with urgency written across her face. When the goth saw two blades draw from her sheathes, Hyn's deft movements shocked them both.

The Stake illuminated the shadows around them with a vivid icy blue before a wave of frost reached the other woman and covered her feet. "What the?!" She heard her cry and saw her nearly lose her balance. The frigid touch of the thick ice was swiftly making her teeth clatter and her start to panic, for countless tries at cutting through the substance failed.

Back to the man in blue, she aimed the Stake, and its vivid glow dimmed. "How about you... Answer me! Where is it?! Where-- is the mark?! The one she uses to differentiate her annoying little spies from the rest!" Growling as she yelled, her fingers threatened to tighten around his throat. Her anger became more evident when her hand started to shake, she didn't much like how he was avoiding her question.

"Spies?! I am not a spy! Who are you?!" He was the one to growl this time, for he didn't appreciate the interrogation. He didn't know her or the supposed spies sent by whoever it was she referred to, so to receive such treatment left him with an ever-growing fury.

The memory of earlier that night resurfaced when she last saw the armored male lingering in the darkest shadows of the ceiling. It irked her because to her it felt like he was feigning ignorance to save his skin.

"Then explain why you were hiding in the shadows!" Iseldur began as he continued to try and wiggle free from her hold, but the position she had him in made it almost impossible. He'd have to lift his legs and grab her around the neck if he was able to, which she knew he wasn't. "I'm the bodyguard of the Cold Blaze's singer. Now, either answer me-- or I'll make sure your blood runs cold on the ground!" This time, she jammed the tip of her Stake into his armor, making it dent and almost completely puncture its density.

One minute, two minutes, she waited and watched him stare silently and cease his flailing. The sound of the crickets sang their songs as they watched each other, that was until she grumbled and wiggled the Stake as an indication for him to speak. She couldn't read him since the helmet he wore concealed the majority of his face; the odd shape of his visor proved difficult to see through.

As if he was caught in a trance of some sort, he snapped out of his stupor with a shake of his head. "I was just checking to see where the large source of energy was coming from. Now-- get off of me!" Spouting with rage, his arms tried to move.

With a contemplative stare and a faint humph from her helmet, she gradually raised with still-yet perfect balance on his arms. Back into its sheath, her Stake blade was returned to her lower back and carelessly stepped off of him.

"That supposed, large source of energy, must have been from all of the energy drinks," Shaking her head amid her trek away from the blue ninja, Iseldur practically rolled her eyes and flicked a finger a certain way. A button was pressed, and not but a few seconds later blue electricity sparked around her body.

"Energy drinks? Really?" A smile could almost be heard from the Kunoichi woman's comment, but the goth hardly cared to look and see if she was. Nor did any interest occur if the woman had managed to free herself from the thick ice.

So. It was nothing after all? Great... Hyne almost groaned irritably when she thought about the possibility of gaining new enemies. If he was trying to find the exact location of the energy, then I'd have to keep on my toes. I have a feeling that the ninja's going to be watching me. If that were the case, then I'll need to refrain from using any of Nerve Slics if possible. Behind her helmet, an eye twitched, for she ignored what the ninja said next.

"I didn't see a bodyguard standing around in the makeup room. It was just the singer... And she was the only one who saw me." Suspicion laced his words, yet she still didn't care to acknowledge them.

Within seconds, the sound of a lightning clap echoed when a vibrant flash of blue blinded them momentarily. It wouldn't matter if they tried to talk to or question her, striking a conversation would simply go ignored by the heterochromia-eyed rogue.

~~Kamdor~~

"That's odd. Who was she? She didn't exactly introduce herself." With a fold of her arms, Miratrix walked into the abandoned building they stood close to and rubbed her biceps in a poor way of getting rid of the chill that lingered. It took her a bit to get out of the ice trap the mysterious rogue encased her in, the effects of it still rendered her feet a bit stiff.

"I don't know. But she will not get away with attacking me!" As if she were still there, he sluggishly walked backward with his gaze glued to the spot the woman had left. When he decided to march his way inside the structure, the doorway was clipped with a cloth to keep out the chilly air. "Miratrix, start a fire." Demanded the ninja without care and turned against the wall once he walked through the small room, and slid down to sit.

"Yes, Master.~" With a smile, she got to work, which he saw, and observed her pulling out a fire kit from a nearby drawer in a filing cabinet. With a small smile and focused eyes on the pieces she took out of the kit, she asked, "She may have attacked you, but she didn't severely wound you. That has to mean something right? Besides-- I liked her attitude." A peek at the slacked ninja against the wall, he watched her smirk and quickly return her attention to the sticks she started to pile in the center.

"It doesn't matter. Whether there's some kind of meaning behind it or not, she still attacked me!" Spat Kamdor. With an arm propping over a knee, he looked down at the spot where she dented his arm and nearly penetrated it. "Her weapon was different." He mulled over its Stake shape and how its length was similar to a sword, however, the strange glaive on the other end made him curious.

"Yeah. I saw a curved blade on the other end of it. Maybe it was a switchblade?" Sparks of flames began to crackle as she put a match into the sticks and made smoke rise.

"Possibly... But that's not the biggest concern." He began with a momentary silence. "The one end of her weapon, the Stake, almost punctured my armor." Finishing his sentence, he scooted closer to the fire once it lit up, and propped his arms on top of his knees. "We can't underestimate her! The next time we see her... It will be her end." A fist clenched when he lifted it, which shook from the subtle anger that quickly declined the more he pondered the strange rogue. Hmm. She didn't mention anything about the Corona Aurora... Perhaps she isn't after it like we are? The slight tilt of his helmeted head went ignored by Miratrix. However, a faint trace of curiosity grew in the forefront of his mind the longer he sat there thinking about the aggressive rogue with heterochromia eyes.

~~Hyne~~

Daytime came around the corner and the clear blue sky welcomed the bright sun as it always did with each new day. The ankle metallic boots clicked faintly when Iseldur stepped to the edge of an apartment building and looked over the city. Icy and fiery helmet eyes pierced the shadow that cast over half of the roof, thanks to the stairwell behind her.

Besides the murmurs of vehicles and people around her, her focus was on something else and that was to keep an eye out for potential spies lurking about.

"I don't see anyone. They usually hide nearby whenever I'm out in the open." She was confused about the lack of action. "Normally, her damn spies are watching me from the shadows. Wait..." At the last bit, she whispered and crouched.

At the mall nearby, on top of it and just beneath some beams that held up the awning to the entrance, she saw a figure clad in black armor. Hyne watched them crawl along the length of the beam and climb around the awning, to get on top of it. I knew it. An irritated brief thought echoed. Her breaths began to quicken the more she realized the Spy was there, trying to avoid being seen.

Slowly, behind her, a pocket attached to her blade's sheath was zipped open. She pulled out a small tracker as she had before with the blue ninja and held it between her fingers. From what she could see, the figure donned a mask around their mouth and a hood with two dagger sheaths on either side of their hips.

She made haste and bolted along the side of the apartment's roof. Her eyes never left them when she leaped over a gap, picking up her pace, and activating the electricity.

As before, a crack echoed in her wake when blue light flashed and a streak of lightning zapped across the distance. She certainly frightened some people since they screamed and covered their heads, but she continued nonetheless.

As soon as she appeared on the same level on the Mall's roof as the Spy, she crouched. The tracker between her fingers was quickly flicked, yet as soon as she did, they whipped around and gasped. Assuming it was the blue lightning that made their guard rise, she saw them run for it.

Iseldur wasted no time sitting there, for she raced after the figure, and growled irritably. "Get back here! I know you work for her!" Through an infuriated cry, she tried to get their attention; with skill, she mimicked their patterns. Her arms were behind her when she sprinted but flipped over a gap, and performed parkour effortlessly. Within arm's reach, she moved her fingers and was mere inches from grabbing the back of their armor, when they sparked with electricity.

As soon as they disappeared within a quick flash of blue light, she gave chase with her own. Cracks echoed upon each turn or after every momentary halt until she saw them race across a clearing where a couple of individuals stood.

"You will answer me!" Screaming, raging, she didn't care. Especially not when a strange creature made of ice stumbled in her way. The Stake blade from her lower hip was unsheathed and was twirled to adjust its position. Not a word was received, which only enticed her anger more. "Ah!" Through gritted teeth behind her helmet, a single tendril from one of the small slits in her suit, that was difficult to notice, had slipped out and wrapped around the other end of her weapon.

Fiery red, her tendril glowed bright and made the Stake change to a reddish-orange with smoldering heat waves around it. She moved too quickly for the tendril to be seen when she glided across the ground and whirled. With an effortless grace, Iseldur dismembered one of its legs. Not an ounce of hesitation was there, when she immediately stabbed its head from the side and ripped it back out. "Stay out of my way!" Angrily booming, her voice was, before she reeled her blade back and aimed it at the retreating dark figure. "Rah!" Like a spear, she chucked it with a strong and fierce cry and watched it pierce their armor with molten heat.

The figure ended up stuck to a wall of another structure after they were pierced and screamed from the searing pain, kicking their legs.

Walking toward them with aggressive steps, ignoring anyone else who may have been there. "Where is she?!" The animosity behind her booming voice had startled the pinned Spy who not only writhed in agony but now began to scream in fear. On the front of his armor was an engraved shape of a crescent moon, she knew by the symbol that the Spy worked for the very woman she was hunting down.

"Tell me!" Now face to face with the Spy, they continued to cry in pain and attempted to grasp the blade, but their hands drew away from its immense heat. The tendril from her backside sneaked and slithered back into the slit of her suit, before she grabbed the person's throat, and yanked the Stake out of them. This earned her another bloodcurdling scream that would normally send others scurrying away. Had she known that the two individuals observed on the sidelines, she would've covered the Spy's mouth.

Since her anger wasn't enough to get them to talk, she jammed a leg between theirs to keep them against the wall, and the Stake was quickly aimed at their heart. She didn't care what she had to do to get information. If this Spy doesn't answer me-- I will kill them! Fury burned in her hidden eyes and pressed harder, letting the heat melt the armor more and more. That was until the Spy lifted their shaky fingers over their masked mouth, making a zipping gesture.

That was it. There was no sense in keeping them alive if they weren't going to answer her. With anger guiding her, the Stake went through their armor and straight to their heart. Her furious cry accompanied the pained one from the Spy, for she watched their eyes closely and saw the life quickly leave them.

From a harsh jerk, the blade was yanked out, and she stepped away to let the fresh corpse land with a heavy thunk. She trained these spies well... But that doesn't matter. One of these days, I'll get one of them to talk and tell me her location! Her tenacity for hunting down the hired Spies kept her going and the anger that bubbled in her chest caused her weapon to shake from the harsh grip.

"And who might you be? A Villainess, perhaps?" Behind her came a masculine and dignified voice that she barely lifted her head to. "That was quite the spectacle! Are you sure brutally killing the little worm was wise?" If she had looked, she would've been able to see the grin on his face and a quirked brow.

However, she stayed quiet. No. Nope. I am not answering to a couple of strangers who don't need to get involved with my life. Screw that sh- before she got to finish her monologue, quick movements behind her caught her attention.

With haste, she pressed a button on her Stake blade, for it extended into a Staff and pierced the monster who crept up behind her. Without so much as looking, she yanked it out, spun it skillfully, and sliced off its head. The moment she had, she crouched and whirled the staff so the Stake would point out. The odd monster had dispersed into snow on the ground, which she picked at and examined.

"Forgive my Chillers! They can get a bit rowdy.~" Iseldur stood and saw a man clad in black and white icy armor with a staff in his hand. However, when she noticed the wrinkles in his skin and the odd mustache, she cringed behind her helmet. The frosty blue teeth didn't go unnoticed when he smiled at her, it made her lips curl in disgust.

"Snowmen..." More to herself than them, she murmured and whirled her staff. It quickly retracted and returned to its former Stake blade, to the length of a sword. If anything they were more of an annoyance, especially when she was about to walk away and heard him speak again.

"The name's Flurious! And he--" She watched him point a finger to the one in red armor and horns, who donned white baggy pants. The metallic sideburns that trailed into a beard, didn't go unnoticed. "Is my dolt for a brother, Moltor. It's lovely to meet a lady villain like yourself." The slight tilt of his head to show some form of off-putting friendliness had gone ignored, when she shook her head and tried to continue onward.

Grumbling irritably, the said man in red armor slapped Flurious's shoulder, which earned him a smirk. "Brother! Why are you suddenly becoming friendly with someone you don't know?! I thought you said you were smart!" Through a light gravelly voice, came Moltor's complaint. Refraining from arguing and fighting Flurious proved difficult in front of a lady, but he managed nonetheless.

"How could I not? Didn't you see what she did to that person?" His free hand gestured toward her as he inched closer, and stared at his brother. "It would be awfully rude to just let her lea-" Then and there, he stopped talking when they both heard a crack echo and a flash of blue where she stood.

She was gone. Or so they thought. Iseldur stationed herself atop the structure near them and knelt with an arm over a knee, watching the duo who were surprised by her abrupt leave. However, a colorful group of five appeared around the corner, trying to get past the frightened citizens.

Looks like things are going to get annoying really fast. I can already feel a raging headache coming on... Groaning, holding her head, she watched a fight take place as soon as the group approached the brothers. She sat there and watched the entire fight, albeit annoyed by the shakes of the blasts.

However, when the Titans emerged and took on vehicles that she swears would be hilarious to see at a Drive-through window, she decided to leave. The electricity sparked around her body and as before, the familiar crack resonated followed by the blue flash.

~~Later elsewhere~~

"Rah! This was a waste of time!" Moltor strode into a cave that was as hot as a savanna desert. Crimson lit up the interior and cast more shadows than not, yet he didn't care in the least. Their captive was quickly shoved inside, for he stepped around to face his icy brother with evident irritation. "There are other ways with dealing with this Ranger!" With one glance at the odd Yeti that seemed to work on a contraption, he was quick to return his gaze to Flurious. "He's too powerful to keep in a cell!" As if to emphasize, he waved his hand.

"Ah, brother. You've always been so short-sighted. If we can't operate his megazord, then we'll need him! Anyway..." Explained the icy man, for he saw Moltor groan and shove the boy clad in black and red into the cell. "Norg will make sure he doesn't try anything. Won't you, Norg?" With the staff in both of his hands, he gestured for the Yeti to take it with a few subtle steps closer.

The said creature turned around after adjusting the lock and nervously shifted his weight. "Dah... Actually, I don't really like weapons." As if on cue, Flurious's peeved groan startled the Yeti and shoved the staff into his hands. "Until now." With that, he grunted again and walked away knowing that the creature held it firmly.

"Hmm. Brother. About that woman..." Moltor trailed off and was about to leave the room. The helmeted rogue with heterochromia eyes and the immense heat that he watched burn through the other person, left questions gnawing at the back of his mind.

Flurious looked over his shoulder at the mention of her, piquing his interest now that the Ranger was in a cell and out of the way. "Ah-- yes! The Villainess. I'm quite curious how she managed to vanish within the blink of an eye..." With a finger to his chin, he recalled the odd lightning crack that echoed and the bright flash. To say it didn't leave him questioning her gear would be a lie. "However, I did notice electricity. Perhaps she's controlling it with some sort of device?" Knitting his cold brows and looking back at his brother, Moltor looked down in thought.

"Who knows? I am more curious about how vicious she was. She gave up interrogating her target and simply killed them. I saw something attached to her weapon too!" The finger he used to point at the icy man, made Flurious hum in thought and smirk.

"Are you sure your eyes aren't playing tricks on you? That could've been just a glint of her metal. I didn't see anything-- and I pride myself in having keen observation.~" The lift of his chin and the chuckle he gave only made his crimson brother scoff. He didn't give him any time to protest against his claim, since he left the room quickly.

"Keen observation... Hah-- Right!" Moltor practically rolled his eyes at the idea of such skill, for he too left the room.

However, had they known that they had just given some information to their captive, they wouldn't have conversed about their encounter with the supposed villainess. "So there's another one out there, huh? Looks like the two ninjas aren't the only ones. I'll have to tell the others about this, once I'm free." Whispering to himself, Mack mulled over the information about the new possible threat besides Miratrix and Kamdor.

A/N: I wonder where it'll go from here. xD
Following along the episodes, starting at episode 9!

What will happen now that Iseldur encountered four villains, so far? I'm honestly interested in seeing her knock the two brothers' egos down a few pegs! XDD

It'd be hilarious! XDD
