Chapter 1: Cold Blaze

It started long ago-- A mature and feminine voice whispered in her mind as thunder rolled and showered upon a large clearing of dirt. When I was just a child. for a moment, she paused. Across from her stood a masked mysterious woman with dark brown eyes, reflecting conflicting fear and anger. Everything changed... A pause ensued to allow a moment's breath. Her face... I will never... Ever. Forget her and what she did to me. Lightning flashed as she and the masked woman walked like predators, circling each other and waiting for the first move to be made.

However, when lightning flashed again, icy blue and fiery red eyes, blinked at the sensation of cold droplets hitting her nose. I was my planet's last survivor. There were many times when I had almost been killed after I arrived on Earth. I wasn't a fighter... The woman closed her eyes to think back on the day when she first came. Despite everything that happened, I still tried to stay strong, and when I was at my lowest point... I met her. A tattered black umbrella was soon lifted above her head as she turned and walked along a sidewalk. I'll tell you a story about what choosing your own path means. And how a Villain is either made... Or prevented.

Rain continued to pour as the woman looked down at her leather jacket and pulled out a phone. Heterochromia eyes scanned over a text she received and sighed at the name of the sender. Her Manager reminded her of the day and time of the next performance she'd have to do.

As she put her phone back, she halted at the side of her Crotch Rocket Motorcycle, eyeing the full helmet that dangled on the handle. The name Hyne was written across the side of it in bold italic red; with a fold of her poor umbrella, she sat down.

The thick, black high ponytail was quickly drenched after she tossed the closed umbrella into a nearby community trash bin. Dark strands and a couple of braids in her ponytail, almost clung to her face when she leaned over to start the engine. There she saw her half-Asian features in a side mirror, her strict heterochromia eyes glaring back at her with annoyance.

However, the sweet purr it made after she turned the key, was like music to her ears but that wasn't going to be enough to satisfy her. Swiftly taking the helmet and putting it on, the visor concealed her entire face and protected her from the rain.

From there, with a harsh start, tires squealed against the wet road before she took off. The high beams flashed to give her some light, as she passed simple cars and trucks without a care if there were any red lights along the way.

Some woman on her way by had flicked her off, with a colorful insult, but what made her shriek was when the biker did a 360-degree skillful turn and splashed water on her with the back tire. It was almost relieving to see her hunker back into her driver's window and roll it up.

Nonetheless, a spiteful humph escaped her helmet, before she took off again through the slightly busy road. The sound of her Crotch Rocket roared through the air as she sped up and barely made it past a yellow light before it switched to red.

After some time, she came across a crowded highway, to which she sneered behind her helmet and groaned. To make matters worse, her phone buzzed and caught her attention.

From her jacket, she pulled out her device, flipped the visor up, and put it close to her ear as much as she could with the helmet in the way. "Charles, I'm trying! There's a huge traffic!" Angrily, she yelled, displeased by the inconvenience in front of her.

"Miss Hyne, we only have half an hour until the performance. Do you need me to send you some help to get here?" A man's voice, professional and strict, asked.

"No, no, I got it! I'll have to take a detour then." Rolling her dual-colored eyes, she began to back up her motorcycle and was thankful that the vehicle behind her did the same to give her space. However, an aggressive honk came from them, which earned them a double middle finger without so much as glancing at them. Regardless of their rudeness, she turned the head of her bike and did her best to get into the open space full of yellow lines in the middle of the highway.

With the phone being pressed to her ear by her shoulder, she made sure to keep it in place. It was a bit difficult to turn the bike, but she managed and sped along the other cars that faced the opposite direction. "Be careful Miss Hyne. There have been some odd occurrences lately. I'll see you when you get here," A bit softer, Charles spoke and hung up.

Hyne was careful about putting the phone back into her jacket. She turned corner after corner and spent another ten minutes driving until she came upon a large stage in the distance. Her eyes were glued to the stage's blue and white lights that exposed the large crowd surrounding it; except for lightning flashes in the sky. Her icy blue and fiery eyes narrowed at the cluster of people before she turned to follow the road down a hill.

When she finally reached the area, she was quick to drive far behind the people and slow her bike to a stop at the back of the stage. A slender man in a suit raced over to her with a clear umbrella, before gesturing to one of the crew to roll her vehicle to safety. She was quick to remove her helmet and place it on one of the handles of her bike before they rolled it away. "Miss Hyne, hurry! We don't have a lot of time!" As she watched him steady the umbrella, a stern face replaced her annoyed one and she ignored his comments.

Do I need to redo my makeup? Hyne thought for a moment, fingers lifting to touch her lips, just to look at the tips and saw a faint smudge of black. Yup. Great... An eye twitched at the idea of reapplying her black lipstick.

She was ushered to a room and was forced to plop into a chair for the makeup crew to work on her. "Is the band ready?" Questioned the goth, as she felt herself get dried, touched, and brushed up by several hands.

"Yeah. You've got twenty until you're on stage," Charles was seen nodding to her in the mirror, but all she replied with was an emotionless hum. An indication that she hardly cared, because she knew she'd be on time.

Black lipstick was professionally brushed over her lips as they worked on her thick eyeliner and faint dark powder around her eyes. Her hair was released from its high position and was messed with. Next, came a shimmering, black metal visor. The elastic band was pulled back to fit the visor over her face, so she closed her eyes and let them continue their work.

Moments passed and she was soon standing behind large curtains. Donning a black tank top with a net shirt underneath that let her fingers poke through the holes of them. She stared down at the wireless microphone and paid little attention to the black nail polish they put on her, for thoughts of just singing to the thundering sky made her eager. The leather combat boots she stared at behind the microphone, could barely be seen past the gothic pants adorned with blue and red chains.

She could hear her band's name from the crowd. Chanting out, Cold Blaze, as if it would hurry the process of her stepping onto the stage.

Finally, the song started. The drums beat as she fast-walked out onto the stage, past her band. The crowd roared and made rock signs with their hands, without a care that rain drenched them.

(I do not own the song! :D)

At the edge of the stage, the mic lifted to her black lips, and out came her voice. "Forever dream of the beaaaast!" she sang and waited for the next piece, for her head bobbed to the rhythm and lightly bounced in place. To her lips again, she released a lengthy cry until her lips puckered to change her tone and her head leaned back to face the thundering sky.

"So long in this cold dark." She began. "Through echos and through fears!" A finger wiggled close to her head when she cocked it. "Alone in this mass storm!~" Whispers followed up with, 'Where dawn disappears' before she continued.

"How do I know which voice is real? This ghost beneath the shore!" Her fingers clawed at her throat before wiggling and pulling her hand away. "The only thing I hear!" Her hand cupped her ear when she leaned over, with whispers following up with, 'It's time to reveal'.

"This world long gone--" Her finger pointed up, in remembrance of a realm she longed for. "Between, the shimmers and the arc! Exiled to a place beyond!" She recalled how she was sent to Earth, watching her planet disperse in flames as the stasis pod worked to put her into slumber amid space travel.

"Reignite the world with me! Is it you that I will see?" Memories of her parents long dead and her people with them, resurfaced when she cried to the sky.

"Break my heart eternally! Waa-aa!" Soon memories of a woman flashed through her mind, with an Asian nationality who looked as peaceful as a serene forest. "Reignite the world with me! Is it you that I will see?" Pain tugged on her heart at the recollection and pressed a hand close to her heart where an old scar remained. "Remember all the ghosts between! Forever dreaming of the beast!" The sweet memory of the woman's kind smile flashed through her mind and twisted into fear. How the blood that she recalled seeped from her wound before she disappeared, lingered briefly before she continued, "Forever dream!"

"We'll forever dream!" Her hand clutched her head when she leaned over, as anger caused her limb to quiver, and followed up with a short cry to add.

"Transcending the barriers." She stood and walked backward, with her hand outstretched to feel the rain patter against her palm. "Of a long forgotten time!" Sweet memories of how she was raised by this woman, filled her mind. A quiet and loving child not of Earth, following her footsteps. "And we came in from deepest sleep." Her hand covered her face to pretend her eyes closed before she continued.

"This world long gone... Between, the shimmers of the arc! Exiled to a place beyooond!" To the sky, her head leaned back and let out a loud cry. "Reignite the world with me! Is it you that I will see? Break my heart eternally! Waa-aa!" She paused a moment to take a breather before continuing. "Reignite the world with me! Is it you that I will see? Remember all the ghosts between! Forever dream of the--" Cocking her head to the side, she crouched and whispered, 'beast'.

Bobbing her head and light footwork in place, she listened to the beat that had come next. 'Forever', she whispered with a cock of her head and continued her tiny dance.

"So long in this cold dark. This ghost beneath the shore! The only thing I hear!" To her ear, she pointed and tilted her head as she swerved for a dramatic pose, which faint whispers accompanied afterward. With a short hum, she continued. "The only thing I hear! Ooooh..." With a slow sway of her body, Hyne followed the rhythm and ignored the soaked long ponytail that tapped at her shoulders from her movements.

"I wish for life." The goth paused for a momentary breath. "Through abstract shapes and ash-- breaking between them." She sang, once more bringing back the memory of the beautiful life she had on her planet until it all crumbled into ash. "All gone within a flaaasshh..." Pausing a second, she gulped and frowned at the thought, until she continued. "All gone within a flaaasshh!" The more she prolonged the last word, her head leaned to cry to the sky and a tight fist lifted to her side.

With the instrumental piece, she began to do more small dances as the crowd went wild and raised their fists. Amid her dance, she'd sway her head almost like a snake and sing a little tune during the solo rhythm. Next came her lead guitarist, stepping up next to her and shredding his instrument.

Her head bobbed and a smirk played on her black lips when she watched him do a few hops, banging his head as all metal heads do. The lengthy piece soon came to an end when she lifted the mic to her mouth again.

After another minute or so, she finished up her song with a faint whisper 'Forever' and crouched with her head down.

The audience cheered once she stood up and stepped back. Pausing a moment, she raised a fist high above her head with her back to them. "Thank you for coming tonight! I love you all! And remember, don't let storms sway you, no matter what happens!" Her speech earned her several fan screams and copied actions of their fists, which she didn't care to see, and continued back behind the stage. What's up with this damn rain? Weather Man didn't say anything about this! Fed up with the downpour, she walked into the makeup room and grabbed a towel one of the workers offered her. A simple nod was all she gave them and moved toward a large cooler. When the lid was lifted, a soda can sent a sensation of cold through her fingers before she picked it up.

The tab was tapped a few times to make sure it wouldn't fizz over and soon, with a satisfying hiss from the can, she opened it. Down the hatch, it went. Ah, soda.~ Fizzy goodness and sweetness. A Pepsi was in her hand, its blue color reflected some of the lights in the makeup room. With a relieved sigh, she lowered the can and stared at the ceiling. However, something caught her eye.

A shadowed silhouette with a glint of metal, in the support beams, shifted and disappeared as quickly as she blinked. Growling low to herself, the Pepsi was quickly placed on a vanity nearby and she ran out of the room.

The jacket she wore before was swiftly yanked off of a coat stand before trudging down some stairs and outside behind the stage. The pouring rain didn't help to see in the dark, but luckily she didn't need to.

From her pocket, came a small tracker that she prepped between her fingers. "Iseldur Hyne! Where are you going?" There the goth saw Charles race down the stairs worriedly, yell through the rain, and halt close to her.

"Some prick decided to hide in the beams in the makeup room! I'm going to track them down. Don't stop me!" Angrily, she plopped the helmet over her head and hopped onto her bike.

As fast as she could get her motorcycle to go, she sped through the dirt with a screech of her tires and zoomed past her Manager without care. Her engine revved, her speed increased, and once she saw a shady figure in a full ninja sprint heading toward the hills, she didn't waste a second.

The tracker was flicked with skill, Iseldur didn't bother trying to aim when she knew she was close enough to their backside. The moment she turned her bike and skidded to a slow halt, puddles splashed. She had to use a foot to keep herself and the Crotch Rocket from sliding down the hill.

When she watched the stranger disappear into the night, she humphed and shook her head. "I'll find them later once I can get my gear on." Her anger was undeniable when it laced her strong voice. A strict determination reflected in her concealed eyes at the quick imagery of the said woman she recalled before.

Once she turned her bike back around and sped past the stage that had a fading crowd, she headed toward the winding wet road.

"Wow, she was cool! I told you it'd be worth going to Cold Blaze's concert!" A blond girl chirped excitedly, the very emotion expressed in her eyes when she looked at her friend in a black and red uniform.

"Yeah, she was pretty cool. But her music isn't really my taste." The boy she spoke to grinned and shrugged, as he followed after her and the other few near him.

"I liked it. I'm not a fangirl but she's got a good voice." To the blond girl's other side, came another girl in a black and pink uniform who shared the same smile.

"Yeah, she's alright, but I have to agree with Mack. Not my style.~" The boy in a black uniform smirked, and shrugged, to which the blonde girl giggled and shook her head.

"It's just-- she's got this cold but fiery vibe to her." Shrugging, and hopping into a vehicle with her friends, the one in black and pink soon chimed in.

"Ronny, I'll admit. I like her gothic appearance." She couldn't help but agree, considering a few of her casual outfits at school were sort of gothic. "Now, let's all head home and get some sleep. I have a feeling we're going to have a big day tomorrow." Her smile fell at the thought of the previous events that have happened.

"Yeah, Rose. With Flurious and Moltor after the jewels, we can't sit around and twiddle our fingers!" Another boy who sat in the back seat, clad in a black and blue uniform, wiggled his fingers together but comically winced when one of them crunched.

"Haha, obviously! Or that might happen.~" The one in a pure black uniform chuckled at the goofy behavior and with that, they took off down the wet road to head back. The crowd around the stage had dwindled before they left, but now seeing it from afar, it looked nearly empty.

"To think hundreds of people were just standing there screaming out her band's name." The boy in the black and red uniform murmured with a glint of interest in his eyes. There a small smile pulled on his lips when he looked out the drenched window to watch the lights turn off.

~~Elsewhere~~

"It was true, then. I was picking up some strange energy from her." A man clad in blue rogue armor walked up to a smirking girl who donned Kunoichi-themed attire.

"I knew it! What was the cause of the energy?" Questioned the young woman, as she crossed her arms and looked at the night sky that finally cleared up. The harsh downpour left her soaking wet but it wasn't something she wasn't used to, for she fought in harder environments in the past.

"I don't know, Miratrix. It was a waste of my time checking her! Now that we have the map from the Hou-oh bird, we need to find a way to decipher it. We'll look for a way tomorrow once we've rested. Now, let's go!" Demanded the man in blue, before he trudged through the mud up toward a cliff edge and splashed through puddles.

"I liked her music. It had a lot of power behind it! I wonder what other songs she sings? Cold Blaze sounds almost poetic, doesn't it, Kamdor?" Her broad grin and pure interest in her eyes proved the excitement she had even if it was momentary.

He couldn't help but shake his head at that. Poetic or not, he felt a bit on edge from being chased by a speeding Motorcycle. However, he grumbled and pondered how the gothic woman was able to tell he was there to begin with. I was stealthy enough. How did she notice me? Fists clenched at the thought, annoyed at how a simple singer thought to look up and saw him.

"Something's troubling you. What is it?" Miratrix's brows furrowed when she started to walk backward, however, he paid little attention to her expression and kept it on the grass he trekked through.

"She saw me, somehow. I was well hidden! The stage had plenty of dark shadows to conceal myself properly but she managed to see me. What's worse... Is that she chased after me on her vehicle," He explained quietly and paused in his step to look over his shoulder at the now dark stage the band used to occupy.

"Strange. Maybe she doesn't take too kindly toward shady people?" Shrugging, Kamdor heard her shoes splash in the puddles when she continued onward. Nonetheless, the man in blue slowly moved on with suspicion in his mind.

"Then why would she suddenly stop when she was gaining on me?" More to himself than her, he asked. Recalling her behavior before she came onto the stage, he had picked up something different about her that wasn't normal. Then again, what could be considered normal to him? When he and Miratrix traveled to other planets in search of the Corona Aurora and its jewels, they encountered many aliens and their unique powers.

~~Hyne~~

Inside a penthouse, Iseldur dropped her helmet on the floor without a care if it got anything else wet. The jacket she wore was quickly taken off, for her determination made her eyes narrow, and headed through her pearly white kitchen. Across the marble white floors, she turned a corner and walked past her pallid living room decorated with sofas and large window panes to expose the outside world.

Past the bathroom and the open pearly Kitchen to her right, she scaled the spiral staircase to the second floor. The fancy white and gray door to her bedroom was opened and revealed a king-sized bed. Droplets still lingered on the tall windows from the downpour not long ago and some clouds had parted to let the moon's rays light up the night. The windows reached the ceiling letting the lunar glow cast across her desk and its many assortments.

Before she stepped any further, her combat boots were removed and her feet brushed through a fluffy gray carpet. To her left, she walked and faced a closet door that hissed open when she approached. There inside were many gothic-styled clothing, tailored to her liking, but that wasn't what she wanted.

No, she didn't plan on changing into new clothes. Instead, she walked inside, closed the door, and picked up an odd helmet with anger glinting in her concealed gaze. Grunting irritably, she peeled off the metal visor over her eyes and swiftly pulled the odd helmet over her head. Two points jutted out behind her before something automatically latched just beneath her high ponytail.

Icy blue and fiery red narrowed eyes on the visor, lit up when she lifted her head. Next, she stripped down to her undergarments and grabbed an elastic, tight, black suit with intricate designs. She pulled on the zipper and pulled her feet through the legs of the suit until she did the same with the rest of it. In front and behind her, a black cloth hid the middle of her chest, stomach, and back area.

Reaching past her rear and crotch, it was held in place by small leather buckles tight around her waist. The majority of the suit showed off the shape of her sides, waist, hips, and legs; providing a sexy curvature that could catch a few eyes. Yet she paid no mind to it since she was used to it.

Her ponytail had to be moved out of the way so she could zip it up behind her. Finally, she examined the large white wall across from her. Attached to some hooks, were pieces of armor inside of a humanoid-shaped hole specifically made to fit her.

Not another minute was wasted gawking at the gear. It was like it was a routine for her to whirl around, step back into the shaped hole, and place her hands into the open slots of the armor pieces.

All the pieces closed around her chest, shoulders, and wrists. Followed by her light-weight boots of black metal that barely reached past her ankles and exposed her toes. However, similar points as the helmet jutted behind her ankles and forearms.

Now... For my Stake. There was a kind of anger that was difficult to place when she thought a moment and briefly scanned her hidden eyes over the shelf next to her. Attached to it was a weapon rack, displaying a switchblade of sorts.

A dim blue, sharp stone that was as long as her forearm, and pointy as a stake, was connected to a blood-red pole and a black metal component behind the grip. At the other end of the weapon was a blade from a Glaive, its silver metal glinted under the light with as much beauty as the dimly glowing stone stake.

She quickly grasped the weapon and took the sheath that sat just below it on the bottom shelf. Its holder was soon connected to the belts against her lower back. She didn't hesitate to sheathe her weapon and walk out of the closet.

"Now... Where--" She began with venom lacing her words, lifting the armor piece on her wrist and pressing a button on the inside of it. A holographic window appeared and exposed a red dot on a large world map. "Huh. The damn spy has gotten pretty far. No matter... I'll find them and I'll make sure I get them to talk." Hyne trudged back out of her penthouse after locking her door and making her way out of the building.

As soon as I came back home, my Manager texted me, saying my next debut wouldn't be until two weeks. So I have some time to track this prick down and get some information. In the dark of the night, icy blue and fiery red narrowed eyes from the helmet, glowed as she stared in a particular direction.

Who do you think she would end up with and what kind of behavior do you think the other Villains would have around her?! :D
