PHASE 7

The day of the dance finally arrives, Wally's eyes drift open as his alarm clock rips through the silence of his bedroom. He knew for sure he didn't set an alarm for the literal crack of dawn, his clock reading 6 o clock in a bright green hue. Numbuh 4 lightly caresses his alarm clock to quiet it, trying to ignore the inconvenience to his sleep when his door slams open as soon as he shuts his eyes.

"WAKE UP WALLY!" Rachel sings, her arms full of bags from branded stores and her smile brighter than the sun rising above the horizon.

Wally peeps through the hand that was covering his face. His body was still beaten just as badly as yesterday, but his angry scowl finds its way to his face once more. Rachel ignores his attitude, and pranced around his room with her arms lathered in brand name bags.

Wally groans heavily, her early morning outburst reminding him what he decided to agree too. "Why so early?"

"Becauseeee~"

"Because?"

"Don't worry about it!" Rachel snickered as she unveils the selection of clothing from the plastic that was weighing her down. Wally wanted to whine, he wanted to complain, and he most certainly wanted to go back to sleep but he gave his word. The crinkling noise of the bags were even enough to prickle the nerves of Wally, as even slight movement seemed to ignite major discomfort in his head.

Rachel took notice to the boy's silent whimpering "Tylenol?" She spoke as she wagged a bottle of medicine in front of the teens face.

He painfully sat up and accepted the kind gesture from his best friend, trying to down the whole bottle like candy as Rachel snatches the bottle right back from him. She hands him two pills and sets the bottle on a desk next to the bed as she gets up and walks towards the door.

"I'm gonna get you some water for that, don't die while I'm gone!" Rachel quipped as Numbuh 4 could only give her the stink eye in return to the badly timed joke. She shuts the door silently as to not awaken the Australian relatives of the youngest Beatle, while Wally slowly but surely takes this moment to completely sit up and face off from his bed. His movements shift the sheets just enough to knock some of the bags off, the contents spilling out with a soft thud as Wallabee's eyes completely dart to an item shining like a morning glare.

He almost bolts his arm out to grab the article of clothing, the pain he feels from movement was temporarily subsided due to his curiosity as he reels in a jacket. He looks it up and down from the pockets to the design, the shade of black the jacket was covered it gave off an odd biker gang aura while also managing to double as a classy attire jacket at the same time. The collars and the wrists had a maroon-like red poking out farther than the jacket itself. Wally was mesmerized, as he opened the jacket to view the inside. The inside of the jacket revealed the same maroon like red, except the inside was made out of leather. Wally rushed to put it on as fast as he could without causing himself any unnecessary pain, the hybrid leather jacket fitting like a glove. He felt a tickle at the back of his neck and he grabbed a price tag and turned his head to view it.

"200...fucking...bucks?!"

Numbuh 4 walked over meekly to his closet to open it and view himself in his full-body mirror, doing a few twists and turns and posing as he acknowledged how good he looked in this jacket.

"Y'know, I'm still having second thoughts about you going to-" Rachel rambled as she entered back into the room, her talking being cut off as a light flush warmed her face. Wally stood with the biggest grin she had seen out of him since she'd met him, as he faced away from her and the mirror looking back in pure delight at what he was seeing.

"Oh? I'm definitely going now."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fanny lifted herself up out from under her covers, a continuous poking at her from the other side of the blanket was not allowing her to sleep for any longer.

"Shaunie could you st-" Fanny started, lifting the covers off of herself to reveal a smiling Japanese girl staring right at her. She paused for a moment, questioning how her friend was even able to get into her room, let alone her house.

"Let me guess, Shaunie let you in?"

"Mhm!"

Fanny sighed and grabbed her guitar shaped alarm clock to check the time. The time read a crisp 6:12 in the morning, her eyes hanging low from the shift in her sleep schedule. "Why are ye here so early?"

Kuki giggled while lightly caressing the neatly packaged dress atop the dresser that the two bought the day before. The dark green color being illuminated from the sunrise glare seeping through the blinds, Fanny practically trying not to turn red knowing that she would be showing a gym full of her peers this dress in all it's glory. Fanny grabs the dress off the dresser and shared the same expression Kuki had, having a small sense of pride knowing that she would be wearing something so elegant.

"Kuki-"

"It's fine! It's what friends are for right?" Kuki bubbled, predicting the appreciation that was about to escape Fanny's mouth. The two were then interrupted by a shuffling at the door. The two looked as the doorknob turned to reveal a head full of orange hair peeping thru the crack made.

"Sup!" Maeve shrilled as she peeped her whole head through, Fanny and Kuki bewildered to see her.

"What the?! Why are you here!" Kuki asked, Fanny turning her attention to Kuki as she was now majorly confused at the situation.

"She's not with you?" Numbuh 86 interrogated as Maeve would push the door through and fall, Cree and Ashley falling on top of her in the process. The three just smile and look at Fanny whose forehead is visually throbbing in veins.

"SHAUNIE!"

The day flew by at Gallagher MS, kids rampaging the hallways, classrooms doing absolutely no work at all, and time seemingly moving faster for a day as everyone's excitement throughout felt like it was vibrating through the walls. The bell's ringing throughout the seven periods was like music to the ears of the students, the eight and final period being the last roadblock until the kids could go home and get ready for the long awaited dance.

Fanny walked into her gym class and sees the kids line up against the seats on the wall. She takes her seat next to a black haired boy, his outfit reeking of aggression and duty. His worn out colored beanie made his resting face emit a scowl even if he didnt want it too, his eyes shifting to Fanny for a second as she sat down. Fanny was rarely intimidated or bothered by kids her own age, and even most adults don't make her worry but this guy made her feel a bit uneasy.

More kids shuffle into the gym last second as the bell rings, two of them being Wally and Abigail in the midst of a conversation. The two chattering teens took their seats right next to Fanny, Abigail to her while Wally was to the left of Abby.

"I wanna die..." Numbuh 86 thought turning red in embarrassment, all previous moments and time spent with the blonde boy coming back to her. She sits up and stiffens her body, trying not to look towards her left because of Wally. She also doesn't want to lock eyes with the boy to her right, his commando demeanor just screams trouble she doesn't feel like dealing with before tonight.

The army boy stares at Fanny and sighs. "Stop being so awkward, you like that guy don't you? You're making it waaayyy too obvious." The black haired teen whispered, Fanny forgetting what she was trying to do before and flicked her pink face to look at the boy.

"W-w-w-wha! No no no no no, I don't-"

"Cut the shit broad, just give the guy a smile or something." He snarled through her stuttering, Fanny almost wanting to get angry and smack some sense into the kid for his attitude. She took a deep breath, and side eyed towards her left to see Wally, as he also was doing the same and their gazes met. She turned her whole head begrudgingly and gave a small smile, hoping that her efforts would be rewarded. The battered Australian lifted his bandaged arm and waved lightly, a small smirk on his face as an answer to the redhead's charm.

Fanny was elated, turning her head back to the army kid with an ear to ear smile that actually creeped the boy out. "You're welcome." He sneered. Fanny held up her hand in a ball for a fist bump, the soldier-like kid staring for a little before returning the fist bump.

"Patton." He said, the Scottish gal raised an eyebrow in confusion to the word.

"Its my name, Patton." He stated once more as Fanny finally realized and made the understanding "ohhh" sound. Wally looked at the two, his hand still lightly raised from his exchange with Fanny.

"Numbuh 60 huh, they both did always get along well." Wally thought to himself, his daydreaming being interrupted by the sound of a whistle ripping through the gym's chatter.

"And... Wallabee is captain two! Everyone get to your sides of the gym!" The teacher yelled, the two lifting their attention to the words of the teacher in surprise.

"Huh? I didn't ask to be a cruddy captain!" Wally argued.

"You had your hand raised when I asked for a captain volunteer, therefore you are the captain for team two." The teacher stated once more, his hand wielding a dodge-ball and he tossed it to Numbuh 4.

"But I can't be a captain! I'm hurt!" Wally said, holding up the dodge-ball in the air and his completely bandaged covered arm for the gym to see.

"Do you have a doctor's note for those injuries?" The teacher snickered, Wally's face now clenched in veins at the response of the adult.

"I didn't think so, and anyone not participating in today's class will be given an F for the quarter! So get ready for dodge-ball!" The teacher cheered. A collective group of groans and moans echoed through the walls of the gym as the captains took the floor. The two captains would pick a handful of kids for their team, Wally going with people he knew and others that could pick up his slack since he wasn't physically capable of doing anything.

"Play ball!" The teacher roared, the two sides of the gym meeting in the middle to grab as many dodge-balls as possible. The game then consumed the air of the gym, loud thumps and screeches of tennis shoes was the only thing being heard on the floor. Wally was as far back as he could, doing his best to participate as little as possible and not get hit at the same time.

"That damn cruddy adult! I oughta!-" Wally mumbled as dodge-balls flew his way, either being avoided or bumped away with the dodge-ball he had in his hand. He looked at his team that consisted of people he either recognized or begged for them to be picked by him. A lot of his team were visibly not the best at the game of dodge-ball, but all of them were inadequate or just sitting in the black waiting to get tagged out. Wally spotted some of the gems on his team he selected, mainly operatives who were using their combat expertise and hard work from the KND into every dodge and throw. From the ear shattering instructions Wally was making, to the overwhelming difference in the strongest players he had compared to the other team, the game was slowly becoming a massacre. Little by little the opposing team's numbers got smaller and smaller in no less than five minutes.

"Huh, that was... surprisingly easy." Wally thought as the enemy side had only one player left. The sole survivor was leaping and jumping over every ball throwing at him, taunting mid air as he jumped at least half of the whole gym's height. He leaped into the sky once more, the height he gained was superhuman as he caught two balls that were thrown at him mid air.

"Nice try, but you cannot strike absolute justice!" The tall blonde kid screeched, chucking the dodge-balls he caught at Wally and Abigail. Wally barely moved his head out of the way fast enough from being implanted into the wall behind him, while his teammate Abby not being so lucky as she was pelted hard in her arm.

"Ouch...Abby needs to switch classes already." She uttered as she grabbed her cap and headed towards the bench. The three consecutive outs from one man wasn't the best look for Wally's team morale, with four people left including himself. Fanny turned her head backwards to look at Wally, a big eyed expression signaling she has absolutely no confidence in striking or catching the gym threat in front of them.

All the dodge-balls were on Wally's side of the gym, leaving the freak athlete to wait for action as he taunted and blew raspberries at the team. Another teammate of Wally was Patton, who was becoming more and more agitated at the high flyer's taunting. "I am so gonna kill this guy." Patton grumbled as he felt a hand on his shoulder, the last member of the four

"How mature." Wally thought while staring daggers into the kid jumping for joy. Wally's shoulder was also tapped, looking back to reveal a face he had not seen in quite some time.

"Yo! I think I have a way to beat this guy." The boy said, pushing his steampunk goggles off of his face to reveal the legendary 2x4 technology expert Numbuh 2. He held a dodge-ball to his side as he flicked his free arm into the group of four, his odd looking watch activating with a hologram appearing amidst the circle of teens.

"Okay so he's obviously really hard to hit right? He jumps unbelievably high, can catch well, and could take out all four of us in seconds if we make the wrong move. The thing I've noticed after some analyzing is he has a weak spot while he's falling towards the ground. If we can take his attention off with two of us and make him get enough air, the speed at which he starts declining should be his...downfall! Get it!" Hoagie explained, his last second insertion of a corny joke earning a collective groan from the unimpressed teammates.

"Does everyone understand the plan?" Hoagie asked, two nods responding to his question as Wally just stared at him mindlessly.

"Wallabee?" Hoagie asked once more. Wally gave a shaky thumbs up that was fooling nobody, Fanny sighing and placing her hands on both of the boy's cheeks and bringing his face close.

"Throw the ball after me!" She yelled. Wally just nodded very slowly as Fanny turned pink and released the boy's face very quickly after realizing the closeness of the two.

Regardless of the bad jokes and awkwardness, the four kids finally spread out and got into position to conduct the plan to win. Hoagie slowly started walking towards the dividing line on the left side, while Patton did the same on the right. The now alert blonde teen on the opposing side switched his attention to the two approaching him, both with a singular dodge-ball in hand. Patton and Hoagie gave one last nod as Hoagie threw his dodge-ball with whatever strength he could muster in his nerd arms, the speed and power of the ball just being average as the teen did his signature sky high jump to counter the throw.

"Numbuh 20,000 will not go out so easily!" The green eyed teen screamed, his identity now being revealed as Numbuh 20,000 of the KND. He was apart of the same generation that his four opponents were, but must've had a very late birthday as he acts and displays himself as a current member of the KND just as much as he did when Sector V first met him.

Immediately after he reached the end of his acceleration upwards, Patton would throw his own held dodge-ball as the boy would catch it with one hand and his chest. He grunted, the strength put into this throw was much more considerable than the last one from the technology freak. He had one hand free, the gym watching in awe as the game felt as if it were in slow motion. The boy looked down at the two kids remaining, only to be greeted by the frightening sight of Fanny winding up a throw at him. His almost floating jump finally started to cease as he started falling just as fast as he soared. The kids spectating could only hold their breath as Fanny bolted the dodge-ball at an area he was about to fall too, perfectly timed and angled to hit him smack in the face

"This isn't a throw I can catch with one hand...!"

Numbuh 20,000 would eventually come to a botched landing, as he began losing his focus on his own footwork and acknowledgement of the increased secretion of sweat onto his landing area. The dodge-ball game's progression would make these two distractions even more consistent and likely as the fear of being struck by such a powerful throw made the boy lose control. The loud mouthed pre-teen would fall to the right with the dodge-ball he caught from Patton still clutched to his chest. Fanny's ball grazed his face during his miracle tumble down to the hard gym floor, just barely missing complete contact with the boy. He sighed and used the

"God fucki-"

"Move!" Wally blurted while winding up an underhand toss just as violently as the redhead before him. He pushed through her from behind as he flung the red ball of death to the almost standing operative as hard as he could. Wally visibly recoiled from throwing the ball, his battered body not handling his usual throwing strength as he grips his wrist and falls to his knees at the pain. The ball practically broke the sound barrier as a piercing swoosh sound flew from one side of the gym to another, Numbuh 20,000 who just got back on his feet was now mere milliseconds away from leaving a dent in his chest.

"Oh shit." Numbuh 20,000 thought as the ball collided with the one he held in his hands, pressing him back into the wall behind him as he gripped the ball in his hands with all his might to avoid facing the pain that was inches away from his chest. The ball thrown by Wally spun uncontrollably against the force in front of it, plowing its force into the jump-happy blonde as it finally ricocheted back towards Wally's direction. Wally lifted his head through the pain pulsing within his arm, the screams of the kids on the benches being drowned out as a wall of green clouded the vision in front of him.

Then, the loudest thud he had ever heard of his life during a dodge-ball game invaded his ear drums like a virus. Wally wanted to wince and shield himself from potential danger after hearing such a smacking sound, knowing anything or anyone that was on the receiving end of such a dodge-ball hit would not come out unscathed. It was obvious that the ball's force that was amplified from the ricochet suddenly came to a halt by the girl that stood in front of Wally. The gym erupted in a unison gasp after the thud, complete silence filled the gym in an unsettling way. The noise compared to the previous superhuman activity that happened just a few seconds ago was frightening. The Scottish girl grunts and pants could be barely heard by Numbuh 4, peeking his head over her shoulder to see that she had both of her hands on each side of the dodge-ball as she palmed it.

"You...okay?" The worried Aussie asked, Fanny turning her gaze to meet his.

"I've been better." Fanny joked. She dropped the ball as her red hands showed an early bruising was already showing itself. She whispered curses to herself as she tried to rub the aching pain away. Nobody in the gym spoke at what just occurred, a mixture of emotions from the display of brute force left the kids as well as the teacher in utter shock.

Numbuh 20,000 was just as frozen as anyone, he stood against the wall flabbergasted and basking in the fact that someone actually caught the throw he just barely reflected with every ounce of strength in his frame. "Is she human...?"

Numbuh 20,000's daydreaming would be cut off by a dodge-ball hit to his shoulder, grabbing his shoulder in response and slightly winced as he locks eyes with Hoagie stuck in a throwing stance smirking.

"Gotcha!" Hoagie sneered. The silence in the gym erupted into roaring cheers as the teacher held up his left arm to signal the win for team Wally. The bell would ring shortly after the announced win, kids began filing out of the gym with a select handful of kids meeting near the entrance to talk about the game.

"Abby thinks you need to ice that." Numbuh 5 exclaims as she points at the new bruises on Fanny's hands. Patton hands the girl some ointment out of his army book-bag while they make small talk. Wally tries to readjust his wrist, the constant throbbing pain making him convinced that he dislocated it or something of the sort. Hoagie took his wrist and started inspecting it with his goggles, activating some sort of x-ray type vision and looking as Numbuh 20,000 stared at the hand that threw such a powerful underhand.

"Y'know, I can't tell if it's just me but being around you guys specifically feels... oddly familiar" Patton says, Wally's heart instinctively drops as the rest of the group nods and shares words of agreement. The kids would eventually part ways as the school day finally concluded and kids began heading home in rushes, the excitement contained throughout the school for the dance now peaking as children raced to get ready and be back at the school as soon as possible. The shattered brute sluggishly hauled himself down the sidewalk, his body simply starting to not cooperate anymore after the effects of the painkillers started to wear off.

"My head...Everything is spinning..." Wally trailed off as his vision got blurry, and the steps he took felt like he was floating. His already slouched body felt like it was going to melt into the floor, and his mind was becoming hollow as thoughts escaped his consciousness like his skull was split open. The only thing that has kept the boy standing upright all this time was his willpower, and the promise he made to his best friend. The Aussie stumbled a bit in his stride, gripping his head and audibly groaning at his failing structure. Wally flinched for the first time in years as Rachel caressed him from behind, putting his arm over her shoulders to help him stand properly.

"Kenzie..."

"I don't want you going to the dance." The tone in her voice was serious as she had an instructing demeanor when speaking. Wally looked to his left and knew she was definitely rethinking even letting him leave the house this morning.

"I'm fine I meant it, can still..." Wally trailed as Rachel's full attention was focused onto himself, her attentive gaze stopping him from speaking another word.

The two eventually broke eye contact as Rachel sighed, changing her attitude as she gave off a now solemn expression. "I just... really don't want you too anymore."

The blonde duo walked in silence along the rocky concrete, their steps loudening from breaks in the cement and rocks grinding against the soles in their shoes.

Wally facepalmed and groaned, alerting Rachel in the process. "Do I at least get to keep the jacket ?"

"I already got grounded for it so..." Rachel teased as Wally's eyes light up in response. The two sides talk as they stumble in each others arms, Rachel spewing about her new plans for later that night while Numbuh 4 dozes off.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"YEOWCH!"

The sound of Fanny's yelps pierced through the walls of the Fulbright household. Fanny's brothers stood leaned against her door, their ears pressed against the door to get any type of idea of the commotion happening behind her door. This was the first time in a few years Fanny had friends over her house, and the first time ever when it came to something such as a school dance.

On the other side of the bedroom door was a familiar group of girls, all of them tugging and pulling at the horror show which was Fanny's hair. The young ginger girls hair resembled a jungle, as different inputs and ideas drowned out the sound of Fanny's whines.

"Maybe brush that one! Oooo or that one! Actually wait try that one!"

"We can't just brush through everything... as if her hair would let us."

"I can still order a private hair stylist... maybe a private group at this point."

The arguing of the girls did not add to the hair pulling Fanny had to deal with. The constant mixture of bickering and ideas just made the already agitated redhead lose her temper more and more.

"This is all fucking stewpid!" Fanny abruptly blurts, her full Scottish accent sprinting to action on the pronunciation. She throws her arms up into the arm and leaps to her feet, the three girls with combs and product all caught off guard by her change in attitude.

"It's a waste of time! I don't know why I even bothered trying to go to a stupid dance! It's just gonna be filled with stupid snacks, stupid stupid decorations, stupid stupid stupid music and STUPID BOYS!" Fanny ranted, her angry words bumming out the three girls ever so slightly.

"And to think I only wanted to go for one of those stupid boys.."

The girls in the room shared glances at each other, Fanny's true intentions now putting the pieces together in the three girl's heads. Fanny stomped towards her bed and buried herself into her pillow, her irritated scream muffled but still very much audible.

"It's just hair right? Maybe nobody will care!" Maeve spoke in high hopes.

"Actually... Non official school dances like this are ran by only the upper echelon of popular kids. Something from a different hairstyle to a non-colored nail will get you eaten alive for months." Ashley said with Kuki shivering in fear right besides her.

"Last years back to school dance.. THE HORROR! AHHH!" Kuki screamed. Curled up into a ball and sucking her thumb, the traumatizing experience she had at last years dance before anyone had got her up to date on today's teenage trends and social groups.

Ashley rolled her eyes at Kuki's reaction. "Listen, a private group is still possible... if you're fine with being an hour late." Ashley says. The girls exchange glances, knowing that being any type of late to such a prestigious event is just not gonna happen. Silence haunts the room like a vengeful ghost, all the girls completely lost on what and how they'll manage to get Fanny ready in time for the dance.

Fanny lifted her head out of her pillows and grasped a rainbow monkey that lied on top of her bed, squeezing it against her chest tightly. The rainbow monkey squished under the pressure before releasing a squeak.

"Rainbow monkeys are fun in all shapes and sizes!" The dark blue stuffed animal spoke, it's auto response voice box triggering from Fanny's embrace. The girls in the room chuckled a bit, but Fanny's eyes widened at the audio that just graced her ears. She bolted up and ran to the chair and table that had the hair supplies that they were using before. The other girls looked on with curiosity at the sudden burst of energy that is being shown by the redhead.

She looks back at the her female acquaintances sitting on her bed as she rummages through the items and bag. With a weak smile and a bead of sweat starting to trickle down her forehead, she made a motion with her hand that had made all the other girls minus Ashley gasp and their jaws drop. Ashley sighed and then snickered a bit at the idea that Fanny had just revealed to them all.

"All shapes and sizes..." Fanny mumbled, as she reaches her hand into a bag and slowly pulls out a pair of...

Scissors.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, before anything I'd like to say sorry for almost taking a whole two years to go from chapter 6 to 7. My other breaks were weeks, and the longest I remember being 3 months but this was just a mixture of everything in my life taking a role. From forgetting about it, to writers block, to being too busy when I did remember it existed, to giving myself unrealistic expectations for this chapter after taking too long to release it, etc. You name it and its probably a reason as to why this took so long.

This was supposed to be a 10k+ word chapter, that would go over the whole before the dance, the dance itself, and huge plot twists that would tie into the next chapter that shows the outcome of the dance but after a whole year I was only able to construct about 5k words of the before the dance, and the other 5k would've probably have been too little for the dance itself.

I'm on the verge of graduating, so that means more time and more life to spend figuring out what I want to do and writing definitely plays a role in it. No matter what this will not be the last chapter, even if it takes longer for the next one to come out. If you're somehow still here...thanks. If you are new then welcome to the inconsistent thing I disguise as a fanfiction called Operation LOSERS!

P.S : I just wanted to get this out, so this could've been more detailed, constructed, longer, etc so I didn't get to proofread half or most of this chapter, let alone the second proofread where I delete and add stuff for detail. Srry :3
