THE WATER FALLS

I do suggest having the song playing quietly in the background! Just to have the full experience while reading this homemade Creepy Pasta.

"It's been too long, hasn't it?" I asked, taking a seat an the warm rock beside the creek. It was a hot summers day and my old high school gang decided we would meet up and go swimming at the local lake in our town. We'd always hang there after school. Just Jacob, Hilbert, Mana Jack and I. I leaned back on the rock and tipped my cap over my eyes to shield it from the sun. I had gone into the water, but only for a few minutes. I knew I wouldn't have felt comfortable in the running water. But when I got out, the others complained that I did. I told them I just wanted to tan. They must have taken my girly excuse for the truth, but I knew if I told them why I wasn't comfortable, they would surely get mad at me.

"Yeah, it sure has!" Mana pushed Hilbert down to the water. He splashed in and rose up only to squirt water out of his mouth at the girl with pigtails. Hilbert had dark brown hair, it almost seemed black and he had pretty tanned skin, since he was a outdoorsy kid who did a lot of sports. She giggled and shielded her face from his spray. I suddenly found my chest heaving up and down as Hilbert laid so calmly in the water. What if the running water carried him to the end of the cliff? what if he fell into the pool of gathering water below us? What if he couldn't swim? What if he drowned..? My eyes drifted off to the waterfall that lead to the large pond of water below it. My hand placed itself on my beating chest, my nails digging into my skin due to the lack of clothing that was there. My fear of water could have come from my lack of being able to swim, or it was because...

"I forgot why we even stopped hanging out!" Jacob said, snapping me out of my thoughts. He leaned on Mana, making her bend her knees from his weight, Jacob was a rather chubby guy with dirty blond hair. Of course, we all remember why we stopped hanging out for so long, at least I do.

It was a couple of years ago. Hilbert, Mana Jacob, me and... Jack, came to our usual spot in Wottle Grove creak. All was good, we were fake drowning each other, playing games and just genuinely just having a good time. The water of the creak reach up to our waists back then, now it would only be up to our thighs or knees.

That's when Hilbert lost his light blue bracelet. He got Jack to go into the dangerous waters and fish it out for him. Jack couldn't swim, he was a scrawny boy with little to no muscle on him. My body was similar to his, I'm skinny and have a large head. If we hung out, people would often think we were related, I have wavy hair and so does he, although mine is brown, and his is orange. Jack probably just wanted to prove himself, since he was the shortest and basically the little brother of our friend group. He searched while we all had fun and laughed. We didn't see, we didn't see him get too close to the edge of the waterfall, we didn't see him slip, we didn't see him...

Jack didn't come back.

He must have got swept away with the currents. That I know for a fact.

"He could have died in many ways." Is what the detectives said. "He could have taken under by the current and drowned. He could have got whiplash by the force of the fall and broken his neck from hitting the water too fast."

This creek is now haunted by him, I swear. Every time I face the opposite direction of the cliff where the waterfalls is, I can feel him. I don't believe what the detective said, the only thing I believe, is that he did get swept away and he did fall off the waterfall but he died by freezing to death, looking for the bracelet. He thought that we would come get him out of the pond. But we just forgot about him.

jack's cold. He's drenched in muddy water and he's still looking for that bracelet. With no help, and it's still like that now, we are ignoring our friend, we are ignoring his death and we are still having fun.

Just now, Jacob said he saw something in the water near the edge of the cliff. Something round, and blue. I'm not going to stop him, I can't. I just have to sit, and pretend that I don't remember about him, like I did to Jack. I laid back and stared up at the now darkening sky.

It looks like Jack will have an old friend joining him soon.

Thank you so much to;

 @Noncame1212 who lent me her character, Jack.

And also thank you to who lent me herself, Mana.
