More than companions (Short Stories)
Some Mega Man X stories I made at school. Thanks to @Noonecame1212 for helping me with the second one UwU
"X!" Alto's hands squeezed down onto the crumbling dirt. "X! I'm slipping!" She screamed. He right hand slipped and she cried out as her body jerked down. She looked down to the black hollow hole beneath her. If she fell, she would be falling forever, and if she ever hit the ground, well, she'd get more than a dint from the impact. She pulled her vision away from the dark abyss and looked up to the sky. What was X doing? Could he have been taken down by a maverick? Is that why he wasn't saving her? "Z-Zero!" She breathed, trying to grab onto the floor again. "Axl! Someone! Please..!" Her sudden lose in hope made her grasp loosen. She cried out and tried to use her damaged rocket boosters to try and get her up but that did little to nothing. Her hand finally fell off. Alto felt her non existent heart stop. Everything was so slow.
"Alto!" As fast as her hand fell off, another grabbed hers. Alto stopped falling, her sudden stop, made her helmet fall off since she was looking down. Alto reached out for it, but missed it. She turned her head to the light and blinked, her hair was in her face. Who had saved her? She faintly squeezed her savours hand and they squeezed harder back, somehow calming her. After a few tugs, Alto was finally able to pull herself up. She clawed herself away from the hole and paused. The reploid looked at the floor, she was shaking vigorously and almost crying. For some reason, that scared her more than anything she's ever experienced. Her chest plate heaved up and down as she blinked away mechanically made tears.
"Hah... Hah... Hah.." Alto's hair fell in front of her face as she struggled to regulate her breathing. A hand rested on her back gently, as to not scare her.
"Alto, are you alright?" She turned around to her hero and closed her mouth, nodding. She leaped into the hero's arm with a tight hug.
"Thank you X.."
Here's another one UwU
Alto walked down the halls of the Maverik hunter base glumly. She looked down to the floor as she walked, her boots clanking across the floor as she did. She felt horrible and had the worst sickening feeling in her stomach. As she walked past the training room, she caught the eye of a familiar red reploid. Zero cocked his brow up and stared at her, putting away his katana.
"Zero? What's up? Why did we stop?" X's mega buster turned back into his regular hand.
"What's wrong with Alto? Why is she so down?" Zero continued to look at the female robot pass the training room. X walked to his side and caught a glance at Alto before she left completely.
"I had heard some rumours that she had failed a mission and harmed some humans, but I didn't think it was true." X rubbed his chin.
"Harmed humans? That's impossible she couldn't hurt a fly." Zero placed his hands on his hips.
"I couldn't think of any other reason she would be sad." X said. "Maybe I should go ask her is she's doing okay."
"Good idea." Zero nodded. "Come tell me how she is once you've talked to her."
"I will." X nodded and dashed out of the training room to catch up to Alto.
She continued walking and accidentally bumped into a reploid with pigtails. "Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't see where I was going." She apologised.
"Alto!" X called out, making the female reploid stop in her tracks. Alto smiled lightly.
"Hey X. How was training?" She asked, holding her hands behind her back.
"Good, good." X nodded.
"That's great. Is there any reason you needed me for?" She asked, starting to walk again.
X walked beside her. "Well, I've noticed you've been a little down lately. Could it be because of that mission you failed?"
Alto flinched. X knew for sure now that was the reason she was upset. "Oh X.." Alto clutched onto her arm. "I did horribly, I hurt two people and I barely scratched the maverick.." She fell in X's arms with a hug, X supported her hug and held her close. "I let it get away!"
X frowned. "Hey.. It's alright." He cooed.
"No it's not." Alto shook her head and broke the friendly hug. "I need to be a good leader, I'm an A class hunter! Well, I'm supposed to be..."
"Don't talk like that. You are a great Maverik hunter. So what if you made a small mistake? Things like that happen." X placed his hand on her shoulder.
"R-Right." She nodded. "Sorry for breaking down like that."
"It's alright." X smiled. "Zero wants to see how you are, I'll take you to him."
"He want's to see me?" Alto's eyes widened. "Do I look like I've been crying?"
"A little.. Why does that matter?"
"I just don't want Zero to think I'm too weak." Alto smiled and brushed of her armour. X smiled sadly at her.
"Let's go."

"So your navigator was new too?" X walked into the training room with Alto
"Yeah, her name was Noir. I wish I had Alia to guide me instead." Alto smiled lopsidedly.
"Well maybe-"
"Alto." Zero jogged over to the two repliods. He had just finished training, or just stopped to see how Alto was. Alto was about to say hi and wave but she got crushed with a hug by Zero. Alto and X's eyes widened. After what seemed to be just a second, Zero let Alto go. She had to snap herself out of it to give Zero a smile. Did he seriously just hug her? Zero, one of the most toughest maverick hunters, just hugged Alto. X seemed as surprised as Alto was.
"Erm.. H-Hey Zero." Alto greeted.
Zero smiled at her. "How are you holding up?" He asked.
"I'm doing alright, X said you wanted to see how I was going?"
"Yeah. I heard what happened on your mission." Alto frowned, she didn't seem to like the idea of Zero knowing she had messed up. "I was thinking we could train and then try and find that maverick too." Zero suggested.
Alto's eyes suddenly lit up. "Together?"
"I'll come too." X smiled.
"That's a great idea! We can surely get the maverick all together!" Alto placed her hand on her chest. "Let's get training." She smiled.
