Ch#55: You Are Still Mine
The kitchen was again filled with smoke to the point that even an inch distant object was impossible to see. The gravy mixture in the saucepan was crying for me to get it off the stove but my mind was stuck somewhere else; and you know where that can be. The thought of Y/N getting close to Seokjin hyung ripped my heart. The life-taking truth just squelched my entire existence that she was getting interested in that fucker. I couldn't bear her talking to anybody else, let alone taking interest.
The thing that pissed me even more was that Seokjin hyung knew everything about mine and her relationship, still he jumped in between us and started flirting with her. Maybe he's taking false advantage of my gentility, but I won't let him go any further. I am quiet just for the sake of Y/N; or perhaps waiting for a chance to wring his neck.
God knew how far my train of thoughts would go when a voice dragged me out of them.
"Oh damn! For God's sake Jiminie! Don't cook your meals. There are more than a dozen maids in your house for that."
Yoongi hyung let out as soon as he took a step in the kitchen, making me turn and try to find him in that grey smoke.
"Oh hey, hyung." I said with a faint smile, " What's up? How was your Miami trip?"
"First of all, get that burning thing off the stove. Secondly, I wasn't there on a picnic, but due to my new case investigation. Now come out, I need to talk to you."
I felt my heart race a bit at his last words, because whenever he told me he needed to talk to me there was always a bad news. I got the pan off the stove and came out with him to the hall. I settled myself on the couch beside him and waited for him to start the talk.
"I thought you would be at Y/N's since it's Friday." After a couple of silent moments he said, urging a hurt smile plaster on my lips.
"I was a bit busy today so I couldn't go there." That was all I could say because truth was way too bitter to be tolerated. How would I manage to let it out that she hated my presence around her? I didn't have enough guts to face those eyes that spat hatred and only hatred for me.
I looked away to hide the gloss forming in my eyes. He gave a slow, thoughtful nod with a hum and spoke up again.
"Any updates about her?"
I gave him a disappointed head shake at the inquiry.
"Sadly, no."
"That's disappointing. I thought you would have brought a hurricane in my absence in these days." He said with a small chuckle and leaned his back against the couch.
His remarks confused me. My brows knitted together as I ran my mind to get in his words.
"What do you mean?"
I asked, fixating my eyes on his face. He squinted his eyes and gave me contemplating stares for a couple of moments; and said.
"Either you are very stupid or making a fool of me."
Okay now his puzzles were getting on my nerves. What the hell was that much important that he was taking a million years to tell me and trying my patience??
"Well for your great information, readymade fools can't be fooled more, and these days I'm also standing in your line. Now spill the beans."
I damanded, and he threw his head back letting out an ironic cackle. God knew he laughed at my words or at my condition.
"Okay okay," He said, sitting straight on his seat, "let's come to the point."
"Please?"
I muttered sarcastically; and he just watched me silently for a second.
"Sekjin is throwing a grand party at his mansion tonight," He paused for a moment and bit his inner cheek before exploding a bomb over my head, " In the happiness of proposing Y/N."
At first those words sounded like a train siren...clearly getting through my ears, but instead of making the sound clear they just rendered my eardrums.
Now it was my turn to burst into a fit of cackles. He watched my pitiable state with sympathetic eyes. After laughing my heart out, I sat straight and spoke up.
"And he thinks Y/N will- "
"And Y/N accepted it."

Seokjin could never be happier than he was now. The biggest wish of his life had been fulfilled. He felt himself in the airs since when you accepted his proposal. The world had been forgotten from him, what he remembered was you and only you.
He wanted to tell the world that this was all he ever wanted_ your accompaniment, your side, your love.
The joy of the fact that you accepted him as your would be life partner was so overwhelming that he considered just a party wasn't enough how happy he was.
He invited all his family members, business partners, his subordinates, all his friends. The only person he didn't invite was Jimin. He didn't want Jimin to spoil his precious time with his presence.
His mansion was full of high standard people and he was introducing you to every that well known person he knew and you didn't.
After getting introduced to more than two dozens of people you excused from him and came to the long bar counter in need of some water. There was something, some tiredness, some kind of splinter that was piercing in your heart. Despite trying to be happy at your decision, or at least to seem happy...you couldn't get that thorn out of your heart.
What was that inquietude? Why were you so uneasy and restless? Why didn't you like anything in your view?
According to you, the decision you took was best for you and your daughter, then why did you not feel that comfort? Even you were unable to figure out any of the answers.
You ordered a glass of water to calm yourself down. Taking small gulps from the glass, you looked around as if to find anyone with whom you could sit and share the uneasiness of your heart. But for your dismay, you still found yourself all alone in that multitude.
Luna also wasn't here. You kept calling her but she didn't receive any of your calls. You had asked Seokjin if he invited her and he gave an answer somewhat like this:
"Yes, I told her about the party?"
"Then why is she absent?" You asked with a tone concerned. He turned his face away, trying to get rid of your inquiry, and he said.
"God knows better."
He headed to one of his business partners, or we must say, he slipped away from your interrogation.
Of course, what he said was true, but what he told you was not a complete truth. He told her about the party, but he also forbade her to join. He was afraid that Luna might reveal anything about their one night stand overwhelmed in emotions.
You settled yourself in a couch in a corner of the vast and wide hall, thinking about what could be the reason for her absence. You rubbed your temples in order to soothe that headache which was struggling to explode your brain veins.
Suddenly the seat beside you on the couch got heavy and the next moment you heard a deep, male voice.
"Why so sad?"
You lifted your head up and found taehyung sitting beside you with legs crossed and back leaned against the couch. His eyes fixated on your disgusted face and a playful smirk plastered on his lips.
You turned your face monotonously and replied.
"I'm not sad."
"Then you must be roaming around with your so-called future husband, welcoming each and every idiot here."
His retort made you turn your gaze to him at once as he added.
" -but I see a difference between yours and Seokjin's level of happiness."
His lip corners sank down a little as he showed fake sadness.
"Shut up and leave me alone."
You glowered at him but he didn't seem to be affected by your snarling glares or sneers. He didn't leave the place, just changed his sitting pose. Opening the cross of his legs, he sat straight and muttered again.
"You know what, I've never seen such a big lier like Seokjin in my entire life."
You squinted your eyes at his information about Seokjin.
"What do you mean?" You questioned with brows lowered.
His eyes landed on Seokjin and, gluing his gaze on his figure, he answered.
"You remember he told you that he invited Luna at the party, right?"
"Yes, right- "
"Wrong," He snapped, "in actual he pleaded her not to attend it."
His revelation made your eyes bug out. You watched him in disbelief for a second.
"You're lying."
You hissed, and he rolled his eyes.
"My name is Kim Taehyung, not Kim Seokjin." He scoffed.
Your eyes fell on Seokjin who was busy talking to his business partners. Your mind didn't want to believe Taehyung's words.
"But...why would he do so?" Your voice quivered as you worded your confusion.
"Well, I asked the same question from Luna, but she said that Seokjin would answer it properly. He knows better."
He explained with a deadpan expression. Your eyes stuck on his face to find a glimpse of joke but there didn't seem any. You felt your head spinning. You opened your mouth to inquire more about it when the noise in the lawn outside caught your and Taehyung's attention.
"Leave my collar. Leave it I said! How dare you stop me? Do you even know who I am?"
Ah! The voice you could recognize in millions.
"Jimin?"
His name escaped from your lips as soon as you heard him shouting.
"Oh, our hero is also here. Now the party begins!"
Taehyung chirped behind you but as soon as you glared at him, he pursed his lips tightly and gave you a mouth zipped sign, joining you in the steps outside.
The view was shocking for everyone. The extremely drunk Jimin was strangling with the guards near the pool, threatening them about the consequences of putting a hand on his collar. Before you stepped forward, your glance fell on Seokjin who already was heading towards him.
"Who allowed you here?"
He hissed at Jimin, earning a quite opposite and surprising response from him.
"Hey, hYuNg! Congratulations!!"
Jimin got himself free from the guards grasp and gave Seokjin a hug. At that moment Jimin wished he had a dagger to pierce in his back just the way Seokjin pierced. The difference was that Seokjin's dagger was invisible which he stabbed in Jimin's soul.
"Fuck this shit and spill what the fuck are you doing here??"
Seokjin growled, pushing him back away.
"You think I needed any invitation to meet my wife?" Jimin scoffed and ran his swollen, red eyes around in search of you.
You felt like your heart was squeezed in a fist at his sentence. The pain that he still took you for being in the same old relationship was engulfing you. Now it revealed what thorn was piercing in your heart. Despite of your thousand tries to move on, Jimin pulled you back to the point you stood for more than two years.
You tried to fight those tears and back them away which blurred your vision.
As his eyes landed on you, his stammering feet forwarded towards you.
"No one should forget, this day is mine with my wife and my daughter."
He announced in a drunken voice and stood in front of you with staggering feet.
You watched him silently, struggling back those emotions impatient to be spilled out, trying to maintain your expression as spot as possible. No one should know what storm was rising inside of you. Gulping the lump of tears down your throat, you said.
"You shouldn't have come here- "
"Tell me what I heard is a lie." He snapped in the middle, "tell me you're still mine."
Those words, that request, those pleading eyes, that trembling, stammering body; what was that was not crying in him?
You turned your head away to escape from that packer of sorrow, agony, and regret.
"Go, Jimin." You said, turning away but he turned you back to face him by grabbing your arm.
"No, not until you tell me the truth." He said, "say that you're mine."
"No," You shouted, "with what right are you saying that? You might forget what you did with me but I can't. You can't imagine even in your dreams how much I've survived, how I bore that humiliation, that insult thrown at me by people just because of you. And now you want me to suffer that again?"
Jimin watched you silently, bearing every single word stabbing his heart. What would he say? Every of the words formed by your lips was true. He gulped hard before presenting a weak reason.
"No, Sugar, I- I just want to see you happy- "
"Is that so?" You squelched his sentence, "Then listen carefully, I don't want you anymore. leave me alone, and don't ever come into my life again."
Your demand slipped away the ground from his feet. His face went sallow as he watched you spilling your wrath out. His eyes forgot to blink. He opened his mouth to say something but it seemed like all his energy had been squeezed from his body.
You didn't stop after that to see his broken state and turned back to go to the hall. Fighting back your tears you wished in your heart he doesn't call your name from behind. You didn't have anymore strength to withstand any action from him now.
As you were entering the hall, Seokjin's command made you halt on the spot.
"Guards, throw him out!"
You stopped for a moment but the tears didn't. Rolling down your eyes they dabbled your cheeks. Never having enough guts to look back, you stepped forward again.
