TWO

TWO

"Farah!"

A teenage Sebastian Vettel shouted as a smile lit up his face upon his ocean blue eyes settling on the figure of his girlfriend.

Farah Becker immediately turned her head in the direction that she had heard his voice and saw him running straight towards her, and gave him a soft smile.

His arms wrapped around her body as he barrelled in to her, since they had not seen each other in a few weeks since she had been to see her uncle.

"Hey Seb." Farah laughed as she hugged her boyfriend, seeing him wearing something what looked like a racing jacket.

"I got you something." Sebastian found himself blushing at the woman, as she pressed her lips gently on to his own before pulling back.

The German boy reached in to his pocket to pull a small black box out of his pocket and handed it to her, seeing her open it to reveal a silver bracelet.

He had been racing whilst she had been with her uncle, and he had asked a fellow driver and his mentor to help him pick out a present for his girlfriend, since he had been missing her the whole time that they were apart.

So the two of them had come up with the idea of buying and gifting her a silver bracelet with their initials carved in to the metal.

"Seb, you shouldn't have!" Farah found that her eyes were widening as they settled on the solid silver piece of jewellery that resided in the black velvet box.

"I had to treat my girlfriend, didn't I? I've missed you." The Vettel man noticed how the Becker woman's cheeks had started to glow a light shade of pink, and lifted one of his hands to cup her cheek.

"And I have missed you, but you don't have to buy me gifts every time that we don't see each other." Farah moved her face slightly, to press her lips against his palm, kissing it softly.

"No I don't, but I want to because I want to treat you, Liebling."

Whilst Sebastian had started to race in the world of Formula One, his girlfriend was training to join the army, meaning that they were not spending as much time together as they used to.

The two of them had been in a relationship for eight years, since they had started to date when they were eleven years old, and whilst Sebastian had wanted to marry her ever since he was thirteen, he knew that Farah would not want to settle down as quickly as he did.

He wanted to wait until he had won his first World Championship to propose to her, but he had to make sure that she would be at the last race of his winning season so that he could ask her to spend the rest of her life with him as soon as he stepped off the podium.

But he had no idea that he would never get that chance.

"AMBUSH!"

Farah Becker shot herself awake at the sound of her Uncle's voice ringing in her ears, whilst sweat began to form on her face as her body became hot, feeling like it was on fire, exactly like it what on the day of the attack.

Her breathing was frantic and rapid as she could still see the images in her mind as if she was still there, seeing her fellow soldiers being blown up, and hearing their screams as they died.

Her hands shot to her ears in an attempt to cover them and block out the sounds of their dying screams, as she squeezed her eyes shut to rid herself of the images and the memories.

She could still smell the burning flesh and the lake of blood that had surrounded each and every one of the people that had become lost to the world, including her uncle.

She could still see the vacant eyes of her Uncle staring blankly at her as she laid on the dry and dusty ground, since a handful of them had managed to jump out of their army vehicles before they were blown up.

She could still hear the gunshots and the explosions and the grunts that her surviving comrades made as they were shot and killed by their enemy.

She was still living the nightmare that she had woken up from, since she was well aware that even if she was awake that her thoughts were plagued with the harsh memories that were etched in to her brain.

There was no escape.

The Becker woman launched herself out from her bed to change in to some dark clothes, since she did not want to attempt to go back to sleep, pulling on some black combat boots that were eerily familiar.

Her eyes widened as she recognised the boots that were on her feet, pulling them immediately off her feet and throwing across the room that she was in, so that she could place some sneakers on to her feet instead.

Her hands clasped around her keys and pushed them in to her pocket whilst also grabbing her mobile phone, before she took a hold of a jacket and pulled it on, as she opened her apartment door and walked out and in to the dead of night.

Her wild eyes scoured the area that she was in, before she walked towards a bar that was open, to order herself an alcoholic drink to calm her frantic mind.

"What can I get you?"

A man behind the bar counter asked the woman as she walked in to his bar, seeing her sit on a bar stool that was at the counter.

"Bourbon."

Farah muttered quietly as she handed the man some money, as she brought the glass up to her lips to ingest some of the alcoholic liquid.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Farah Becker."

Farah found herself immediately freezing at the sound of the voice that sounded behind her, before she gulped down the rest of her drink since she knew that she would need it.

The Becker woman turned her body around to see a blonde haired man smirking at her, his ocean blue eyes admiring her body whilst scouring up and down.

"Long time no see, Sebastian."

Farah's cold voice sounded, seeing the man furrowing his eyebrows together from how different her voice sounded from back when he knew her.

Sebastian Vettel gave the woman a gentle smile, since he had been having a couple of drinks at a bar, with some of his fellow drivers and friends when he had recognised the woman who he had once dated.

It had been an idea of his friend Jenson Button to come to this specific bar since he had visited it before and found that it had a nice atmosphere, and now he was incredibly glad that they had agreed to do it.

He could see how different the woman looked to how he remembered her, since she looked like she held a lot more of muscle, but a lot less weight than she used to.

Her hair was shorter, and now was just below her shoulders, instead of all the way down her back like it used to be, but it still held the chocolate brown color that he loved so much.

Her eyes were colder and held a lot less light that they used to, and he wondered just what had happened in her life for them to look such a way.

"How have you been?"

Sebastian smiled gently at the woman, a feeling forming inside of his chest as he found that his feelings of love and adoration for the woman were flooding back.

"Surviving."

It felt strange, since he knew that they were practically strangers nowadays since they had not seen or spoken to each other since their breakup, but he had never dated anybody since her and he knew deep down that he didn't want to date anybody else.

Only her.
