Chapter 13
I sit in the cafeteria opposite to Ash. She's talking about some upcoming assignment she overheard the teachers talking about giving us. Usually, I would love to hear it and plan for it, but right now, I'm just not into it. I can't stop thinking and letting my mind wonder about Anthony. fantasizing about him...
I suddenly feel two hands cover my eyes, with a, "Guess who?"
I remove them away from my eyes, turn around to look up at Anthony. It was nice to see him, but I was also surprised as to how he even got in here.
"What are you doing here?" I said awkwardly.
"I came for a visit," he says casually.
"Who's this? Wren?" Ashley says, looking around nervously.
"Don't worry, he's just, uh," as I'm trying to explain, Anthony sits himself on a chair next to me, kissing me on my cheek, forehead, biting the skin on my neck, shoulder, "a, family, friend."
Ashley glances toward him, then me, jaw hanging open.
"Hi," Anthony says, reaching his hand out to her.
"Hi..." Ashley responds awkwardly, taking her hand in his.
"Do you have a visitors pass?" I asked.
"A what now?"
I slap my forehead with my palm.
"You're gonna get caught, stupid," I said with playfulness, ruffling his neat hair.
"At least I got to see you." He pecks my lips.
I felt my spirit lift. My cheeks turning a bright pink because of him brought a smile on my face. Although he's the reason why I feel guilty for what I've done, I forget whenever I look him in the eyes.
"I um, just remembered I gotta go do something. Bye," Ashley said, getting up and walking away.
"Anthony," I said with a sigh, "you should go."
"Wren, are you pushing me away because of your inability to control yourself around me? Especially after...last night." He winks.
I start giggling. "You're the one following me to school now," I said, taking my tray table and throwing the leftover lunch in the trash. "And about last night, look, I wasn't feeling like myself. I don't know what happened. I'm not that type of girl, Anthony. Honest to God."
"That's a strong statement for somebody who let me play with her pretty little clitty," he said.
"Shh, don't talk like that around here. Look, I know you showed that video to me on purpose just to mess with me. Why?"
"I didn't, it was on auto play."
"Oh really? And why didn't you at least turn it off? Boy, you know I'm a Christian."
"Do you want to be, though?" He scoot closer.
I look at him for a moment. "I think you should go before someone catches you."
"I had to pass five walking nuns just to get in here, it wasn't easy. Who needs security system Bill when you've got mini Mother Mary's walking around, trying to avoid their stares of death?" He looks around.
I'll admit that one made me laugh.
"And anyway, you should be thankful I'm helping you get through the land of suppression."
"You can't be here forever."
"I know," he said, disappointed, kissing my head.
There was a moment of silence, until he lowered his voice and said, "I'm sorry if it's too soon, but, you held my hand in the truck, Wren. I saw the way you looked at me; I figured you wanted it. And I didn't know you enjoyed it so much. I was nervous and thought that you'd flip at me or something."
That's something that tends to go forgotten about men. They perceive almost every look as if we're lusting after them. Which I won't lie, I did, and do, want Anthony.
I can't help a smile.
"You loved it," he said, brushing my cheek.
"Get out of here, go," I said, punching him playfully, motioning to all the girls staring. He looks around, before flashing me a smile and then walking away.
That one thing he said, it stuck with me, and i found myself thinking about it for the rest of the day - do you want to be, though?
