~{The Beginning}~

I'm rewriting this completely and it's becoming an xreader, although there won't be any romance with the reader, they are Aromantic. There will be ships between other characters. Also, major changes with the original Naruto plotline, and of course, I do not own Naruto.

During the era of Hashirama, a new clan had formed. A clan with a strong Kekkei Genkai, one that was able to copy another clan's Kekkei Genkai, though it had its drawbacks. This clan wasn't well known, they lived in a small ninja village bearing the name Osoregakure. This village relied on the clan for protection, the clan that soon named themselves; Shirudo, meaning Shield. As the years passed, the village, as well as the clan, grew.

Though with their growth, their attention rose and not all the attention was good. People started seeking out the clan for their power, they wanted it for themselves, and one day, in the middle of the night, they were attacked by powerful enemies who were large in numbers. The village leader prayed for a blessing, he prayed for strength and the protection of his people. His prayers were answered when a thick, blue fog raised from the ground. The thick fog had covered the surrounding land. The wind picked up unnaturally, forming a twister and pulling the fog into it before the twister dispersed with a blast.

From the blast came a mighty pack of wolves, their pelts as blue as the ocean at night, their bodies transparent, glittering like stars reflecting in a body of water. The beautiful wolves rushed into battle, phasing through the Shinobi of the village, replenishing their chakra and restoring their health. The ones who'd died had come back, and the attackers were taken into the jaws of the wolves, only to be pulled deep into the Earth, their screams echoed throughout the village, only to fall silent.

The fog thinned throughout the battlefield, never fully disappearing and leaving the Shinobi and citizens in stunned silence before erupting into loud cheers, and that day, May 2nd, was proclaimed The Festival Of Wolves. The clan's leader, Shirudo Ushio and his late pregnant wife had noticed a seal on her stomach. It was declared that from then forth, the firstborn from the clan's head shall be the carrier of the mighty wolf spirit.

It was a blessing for the village, and every spirit holder was trained intensely to protect the village. Though the village never realized the damage they were doing to the holders, never cared or realized were abusing the power that was once blessed upon them. The 3rd Surukage saw the power and became Selfish. He manipulated the power for his own gain, and his selfish acts ended with the slaughter of the Moya holder. The wolf spirit, inflamed with the Surukage's greed, called out with a voice as loud as thunder and as sharp as a sword. The enraged spirit shouted a curse, condemning the village and what the village once saw as a blessing, turned into a curse. The village had not understood what they had done and became scornful towards the mighty wolf.

All future holders had become a disgrace in the village, they were shamed and neglected. As the years passed, the spiteful village taught every generation about the curse of the Shirudo clan. None of the village kids dared to play with the clan children and as the years passed, the more twisted the rumours became about Moya and the once wonderful and colourful Festival Of Wolves became a hunting game, whoever caught and killed the most wolves was announced the winner and rewarded generously. The wolf was furious with the village, and with every passing generation that was mistreated, his fury grew.

And during the second reign of the 3rd Hokage, a particular child was born from the clan head, like the other hosts of Moya, they were born with the ears of a wolf instead of human ears, they had a wolf's tail and their black pupils were slits, like those of a cat concentrated on hunting prey. It was normal for a host of the spirit, but what wasn't was the awakening of their Kekkei Genkai at the young age of 6.

  ~[ 2nd POV ]~

Shirudo F/n looked at the child -his child in disdain, the baby looked up at their father in curiosity, small f/c wolf ears flicked with every noise they heard. F/n looked to his wife who watched him with a judging look, "F/n, they're your child, if you aren't going to care for them, or even try to love them, leave. I'll take over the clan." She demanded coldly, picking you out of your crib and holding you to her chest, F/n gave his wife a condescending look and crossed his arms silently, trying to be intimidating. M/n walked up to him with a glare, he faltered and looked back at you, with a sigh, he held his arms out, "Fine, though don't expect me to go into public with it," M/n had to stop herself from kneeing him in the gut and leaving the clan herself. she couldn't stand this pig of a man, but she didn't marry him because she loved him, it was a forced marriage from his family's side, she wasn't from the clan whilst he was. She carefully placed you into his arms and showed him the right way to hold you.

You being in his arms gave her major anxiety, she was horrified he'd hurt you, but she wanted you to grow up with a loving father, so he was trying to get him to like you now.

Trigger warning, this next part contains heavy topics that can be triggering!!

He looked into your eyes and scowled, he wanted nothing to do with you, but M/n could be horrifying, so, he dealt with it, at least until she left, then he just set you in your crib and left you alone, even when you cried for food or attention. "Now, you watch her while I go shopping. I'll be back soon so step up and be a father while I'm gone." She kissed your head and glared at your father before leaving the house.

He rolled his eyes at her before setting you down in your crib and leaving your bedroom, alone. This is what you grew up with before they started fighting, and they only got worse, they would scream and throw things and they'd often get into physical fights. When you were 3, you figured out how to communicate with Moya, he often distracted you when they fought and helped raise you. He learned how to calm you down if you had a panic attack.

At the age of 5, you grew into the habit of talking to yourself as a distraction, and sometimes, you'd hear voices speak back. Your anxiety was high and triggered by arguments. You rarely went out of your room, barely ate, barely slept, you had trust issues and the treatment by the villagers was no better than what your dad did. No one ever talked to you or even looked at you, and if they did, it was always with hateful glares and angry words.

You were the same age when your mother was sent to the front lines during an attack on the village. She never returned home, along with many others. Your father didn't care, he even seemed a bit relieved. You were heartbroken, the only person to care about you, the only friend and family you had, had died protecting a rotten, selfish village. Moya stepped up after her KIA and became a parent figure, despite not physically being there.

It was a few months after you turned 7 when you woke up to the sounds of screaming, smoke, and angry shouting, you tumbled out of bed and ran towards your window. Peaking out of it, you saw two men both wearing black cloaks with red clouds on them one had long black hair tied in a low ponytail and the other was a really tall, blue dude with a giant sword, he strangely had the resemblance of a fish.

You ducked your head under the window, out of view from whoever looked in, you barely had a life, you didn't want it to end before you even had a chance to be happy. You ran out of your room and threw open the front door, rushing out only to freeze as your eyes widen.

Bodies... Everywhere. Blood coated everything, houses, streets, lawns. "Child, it's about time to run." Moya said, you hesitantly nodded, "Right," with a deep breath, you started running. Moya lead you through the streets, being cautious to keep you away from the dead ends. You were close to the gates of the village when you tripped, looking down at what you tripped on, you almost gagged seeing a familiar body. The body of F/n. Getting up to your knees, a shadow loomed above you. Ceasing all movements, your eyes trailed up to meet his deep, crimson eyes. Blood splattered his clothes and face.

Your hearing was drowned out by your heartbeat. The tall male had stress marks on both sides of his cheeks. The bottom of his mouth was covered with his cloak. You stared at him for a few seconds, eyes wavering back and forth with horror. You held your breath, trying to calm yourself before looking down at the ground. Sitting up properly with your tail tucked under you, you close your eyes and leaned forward to show your neck. Your ears pressed against your head as you accept your fate. You felt your fingertips turn cold and your eyes lightly burning. You could feel your chakra as well as Moya's rush to your fingertips, Though, with the given situation, it went ignored.

Itachi looked down at you emotionless, you were just a child, and by the look of your condition, you didn't have a good life. He... He couldn't kill you. You reminded him too much of his own brother. He took a step to the side, leaving an opening to the gate behind him, the only way in and out of the village, "Go." He demanded coldly, voice smooth and deep.

You quickly looked up from the ground to the gate, you didn't give him a chance to change his mind and dashed forward, leaving behind your village. You didn't look back, and you didn't stop until your body physically couldn't keep going.

1603 words. I tried my best to rewrite this. If there are any mistakes, please let me know and I'll try to fix them. I hope this is at least somewhat better than what it was, I will be majorly editing everything I already have because it's... It's awful- Anyway, I hope this isn't confusing either.
