2nd POV

You were a traveller. After escaping the massacre of your clan, you became a wonderer, though you rarely talked to anyone besides Moya and yourself. Currently, you were walking through a forest, if your internal compass was correct, you were on your way to Konohagakure, one of the few places you haven't been. You've trained a lot during your time, mostly medical ninjutsu and taijutsu, you were decent at both, though you wanted to learn much more.

You also trained your Kekkei Genkai as much as you could, though there weren't many Kekkei Genkai to copy, only ending up with copying around 6. You learned about other Dojutsu such as the Sharingan and the Byakugan. Your desire to try and copy the Byakugan is what brought you to Konohagakure. The night of the massacre, you'd accidentally copied the Sharingan from the man who spared. You trained that as much as you could. At first, it took twice the amount of chakra to use it, but now it only takes a decent amount.

You never found out the name of your Kekkei Genkai, so you came up with one; Neragan (Knee-Rah-Gan.) You've travelled for 5 years and wear a {favourite colour} poncho and tan straw hat, the poncho went halfway past your knees, covering most of your body with a slit in the front so you can take your arms out. A button on the collar held it around you, and the straw hat shades your face from the unforgiving sun, though now that you were in a forest, the hat rested against the back of your poncho, tied by a string to keep you from losing it. Under the poncho, you wore a fishnet shirt with a {Favourite colour} short sleeve shirt and shinobi pants that stop at your shins. For shoes, you wear black Geta sandals with light brown wood.

Suddenly, a large body landed behind you. Flinching in surprise, you switched your body weight onto one leg and swung the other in a high kick, using the top half of your body for momentum to increase its strength. Your ankle was caught by a rough hand, a few inches from his chest, shifting your weight, you raised your other leg to kick them and they caught your foot as the tip of your shoe held contact with their temple. You pulled your feet with a harsh yank and threw the top of your body towards the ground, freeing yourself from the person and rolling away from them. Jumping off the ground and to a nearby tree branch, you bring your arm out in front of you with a kunai, facing them and immediately regretting doing so.

The... thing was wearing a green skintight suit with a Jonin vest and orange leg warmers with blue ninja sandals, his eyebrows were beyond bushy and he had bowl-cut hair, there was a red Hitai-ate tied around his waist. He looked serious for a moment before suddenly holding a thumbs up, he smiled brightly, "HAHA! Hello, youthful flower! I am Mighto Gai! Konoha's green beast!" Your, baffled by this strange man, lost your balance on the branch and fell to the forest floor with an 'oof', kunai abandoned at your side as you looked up at the man.

"Beast is right." You snickered, covering it with a cough, and slowly stood up, picking up and pocketing your kunai. Standing straighter, you rubbed the back of your head awkwardly, giving him a small, tense wave. Not used to human interaction after being alone for so long. After your awkward greeting, it fell silent, you looked away from him and shifted from foot to foot, arm falling back to your side and disappearing into your poncho, "Does he want something?" you asked yourself quietly, turning back to him. "I'm {name}"

"No surname, clan name?" He dropped his arm, his eyes scrunched in curiosity and you're ears twitched at the mention of your clan. You shook your head from side to side. It fell back into silence as he stood there, staring at you. "This was awkward enough, I'll just be on my way now," you turned back around and continued on your way, well, tried to, "Now hold on, youthful {name}-chan!" He said loudly, running in front of you. You flinched away from the giant earthworm of a man, "I must ask, where is it you're going?" He was too energetic for your taste and you didn't want to talk but understood the necessity of him asking, "Konohagakure," he nodded, accepting the answer, "And where is it you are coming from?"

"Sunagakura," he, again, nodded, you walk around him. He moved more to the side and followed behind you. You don't mind it much as you don't know where Konoha is, "why do you have so much chakra, youthful desert flower?" You hesitated for a moment, should you tell him about Moya? They'll find out anyway. Maybe... You chose not to, not for now anyway, "My home clan." you kept your answers short, hoping he'd get the memo you didn't want to talk. "Oh? What clan would that be? Now that I think about it, have you walked here from Suna? How old are you? You must be tired!"

He spoke faster than you could respond and when you tried to respond, he picked you up and started running. You weren't tired, but it didn't seem like you had a say in this, so you just let it happen.

It was maybe 15 seconds later when you arrived at the Konoha gates, you barely caught a glimpse of the large entrance before you were rushed inside the village.  With a sigh, you let your body go limp, hoping to be there soon. What you didn't expect was the very sudden stop a few seconds later, the stop was so sudden that you slipped from Gai's hand and fell harshly to the ground, your exposed skin scraping harshly against the road as you slid a few meters.

You glared heavily at him from the ground but it went unnoticed as he was now focused on some other dude, he had gravity-defying silver hair and a Hitai-ate covering his left eye, and the bottom of his face was covered in a mask, his right eye was lazy and the colour of coal, though he was depressed, you could easily see that. There was so much sadness in his eye that it made you sad. 

Now that you weren't being carried around, you got a good look at the large village and where you were, which was the Hokage Tower. All the houses were made of wood, which makes sense. There was a Hokage mountain that had all four heads of the past Hokages, Hashirama, Tobirama, Sarutobi, and Minato. There was a nearby school that made you scrunch your nose in distaste.

You did a lot of reading in your travels, including the history of Konoha, some of it at least. There's a lot that was missing, events that weren't made public, though you do know about the 9 tails attacks. People were there when it happened and they can't keep their mouths shut about it either. Rumours about it spread, though many details were missing.

The masked man held out his hand for you, "Gai, you shouldn't throw people, especially kids." He lectured, pulling you up from the ground, his eye travelled from your unnatural ears to your feet, which had patches of bleeding skin from the rough terrain. Gai laughed it off and started ranting about challenges. Ignoring the two, you walked into the Hogake tower and chose a random direction, hoping to get to the Hokage, you tried to follow the immense chakra but it flowed throughout the kage tower, making it nearly impossible. Jonin's and Chunin's walked past, some giving you a side-eye curiously, the more eyes you felt on you, the less you could tell if they were real or imagined, your pulse quickened and your eyes crossed the room quickly before sinking to the floor. You placed your straw hat back on your head so it shadowed your face and sped up your pace, wanting to get out of sight from the peering eyes. It felt much like the villagers. Any movement you saw caused you to flinch as you expected something to be thrown.

You felt your breathing start to quicken and quickly made your way up a flight of stairs, slamming into a body as you did so. A strong smell of cigarettes drifted to your nose. With a step back, you bowed apologetically and sidestepping him, you tipped your hat lower to cover more of your face. Moya made small conversation to help calm your anxiety, and hearing his familiar voice in an unfamiliar place helped you relax a bit.

Two doors slammed open, making you jump, eyes shooting up to the noise, you saw a blond hair boy with goggles on his head and whiskers on his cheeks. He wore an obnoxiously bright orange jumpsuit and his hands were behind his head as he laughed about something, you looked into the room he just came out of and saw an old man with a nosebleed, he shook his head and grabbed a tissue, cleaning his nose before bending down in his chair to pick something off the ground. You looked away from him and to the boy that came out, only to find him staring directly at you, his bright blue eyes staring directly at your {eye colour} from under your hat. You yelped and stepped back from him, almost tripping over yourself and falling.

"Hey! Who are you? I've never seen you around, dattebayo!" He yelled, pointing a finger accusingly. You looked away from him, "I'm new to the village... Probably won't be staying long," his eyes narrowed. He scrunched his face as he tried to tell if you were sincere or not, you looked into his eyes for a few seconds then looked away with an uneasy laugh, "Hmm, okay... My name is Uzumaki Naruto, and one day, I'm going to become Hokage, Believe it!" He introduced himself with a large smile. It was fake, you picked that up quickly. "{Name}, Nice to meet you, future Kage," With a laugh, he feigned happiness, you would've fallen for it if his eyes weren't so dark.

Naruto started rambling to you, talking about anything and everything that came across his mind, you tried listening to him, though his energy was exhausting. You looked past the doors and noticed the thing the old man picked up was his Hokage hat. You looked between Naruto and the Hokage, who you assumed was the 3rd, Sarutobi. He definitely didn't look like the Forth, according to the Hokage mountain or the books, but maybe he just aged poorly. Naruto took notice and his words faltered, "You're new, right? So you need to talk to Gramps!"

With a nod, Naruto pushed you into the room and ran up to his desk, smacking his hand harshly onto it, the Hokage looked up from a paper he was writing on, pipe in his mouth. His eyes went from Naruto to you then back to Naruto with a questioning glance. You took off your straw hat and let it rest on the back of your neck, "Gramps, this is {Name}-kun, they're new to the village!" Sarutobi glanced back at you and gave a friendly smile, "Welcome to the village then, though I do hope you know we'll have to ask you some questions, {Name}, was it? Naruto, why don't you go back to class, hm?" Grumbling disappointingly, he made his way to the door, "I was wondering when you're done here, {Name}-Chan, can I show you around the village?"The blond boy asked you, "Sure." Naruto accepted the answer and forced a smile, waving goodbye and closing the door behind him.

"Now then, {Name}-Chan, where have you come from previously, and where is your home?" He asked as you took a seat in a chair opposite his desk, "I've come from Sunagakura, Hokage-sama and my home is no longer." you responded politely, he grabbed a few papers from inside his desk and wrote something down, "who are your parents, child?" You looked at the ground, trying to remember both of your parents. Your father was easy enough to remember, but you can't remember much of your mother, only her name. You felt a familiar chakra at the door and realized it was Naruto. You might not have been with him long, but his chakra was rather unique, something unforgettable, even. He seemed to be eavesdropping, you chose not to say anything about it.

"My mother was M/n, and my father was F/n." You kept the clan name away from your words, not wanting to mention it. Your eyes narrowed as you tried to remember anything about your mother, she might have had blue hair, {hair colour}, maybe? "Was?" He asked, you looked back at him and shrugged, letting him know you didn't misspeak. The Hokage let out a hum and wrote something else down.

He continued simple questions for a while and you did your best to answer, You told him about your village's massacre, which piqued his curiosity. He was interested in learning more about it and you did your best to explain the entire event, keeping the details of what the man looked like to yourself. Moya helped with answering as he remembered it more clearly.

When you got to talking about Moya, he asked about the dangers and summoned a rather large dude wearing a bandana and a black trench coat, he was taller than even Gai. Staring at the man pushed your anxiety to fluctuate. He introduced himself as Morino Ibiki. He and the Hokage asked if you'd be okay with him and a teammate of his checking your mind, basically reading your memories. You wanted to say no, but it'd make you suspicious.

The Hokage said it was because they wanted to make sure Moya wasn't going to danger the village. You tried to tell them he wasn't, but being new to the village, you gave up on that quickly.

The Hokage called an ANBU to him and asked them to get Ibiki's partner, Yamanaka Inoichi, with the disappearance of them, it wasn't too long before another man came into the room, he had long blond hair and seafoam green eyes. He and Ibiki had you sit down before they dove into your mind. They focused mainly on Moya and a few exceptions of your days during your travels. Having them in your mind was an odd experience, you were uncomfortable that they learned about your mental issues, and Inoichi even recommended therapy, which you quickly turned down. You watched the memories with them, seeing the same things they did, though if you didn't want them to see something, you politely asked them not to look, they agreed unless it was about Moya.

After everything was done and dealt with, the Hokage made the choice to accept you into the village and seeing as you were new and had no current guardian, nor a place to live, he assigned you a guardian and enrolled you into the academy. You were quick to realize that he didn't assign you a guardian specifically because you were new, it was because didn't trust you yet, which was fair. You were told that your guardian would be there to pick you up after school.

Walking out of the Hokage's office, you glanced down at Naruto who was previously on the floor, after hearing the door open, he jumped up and looked around, only to see you and calm down. "All right! Let's go exploring!"

"Now wait a minute, Naruto." The Hogake called out, Naruto groaned and paused midstep, looking back at the elderly man annoyed, "Naruto, you should be in school right now, so there will be no exploring until after. You and {Name}-Kun get to your class before I make you help me with paperwork." Naruto grumbled curses under his breath before grabbing your hand and leading you to the school. On the way there, he pointed to certain places and explained what they were. You weren't listening to him and were more focused on the villagers, they were glaring at Naruto and whispering about him, mostly how about how they felt bad you had to be near a 'demon' like him, some even asked their friend or partner if they should help you get away from him.

Glaring right back at them, you wrapped your hands around Naruto's and sped up the pace, he yelped in surprise, "Hey! Do you even know where you're going?" You shook your head, "No. School can wait." Naruto grinned, "that's the spirit! I have the perfect thing for us to do, Dattebayo!"

~Small Timeskip~

You tied a rope around Naruto's waist and made sure it was secure before he grabbed a bucket of paint and jumped off the Hokage mountain, you kept a tight hold on it while Naruto started painting, you both were giggling with joy. You had fun because it got revenge on the people for calling him a demon, and Naruto; because he felt like he had a friend. You shouldn't have been so angry about it, but you related to Naruto.

He just finished with the third and started on the fourth when two Chunin made their way toward you two and called out to Naruto with obvious anger, "Naruto, Incoming!" "Hold on!" Naruto shouted back, finishing a swirl he was working on, "Done. Pull me up!"

You pulled him up and high-fived him, both of you wearing goofy smiles. Having no time to untie the rope, you pulled out a kunai and cut it, running the opposite way of the Chunin. It became a game of cat and mouse as the ninja chased you and Naruto throughout the village, Naruto pulled out the oldest tricks he knew of while you warned him where they were, helping him pull them off. The two of you were playing with them for a while before finally deciding to lose them. Naruto came up with a plan to hide in camouflage with a nearby fence, you told Naruto that you'd keep running as a diversion.

He agreed to the plan, and with a smile, Naruto split off from you. With a ram hand sign, you transformed into Naruto. It worked and the guards started chasing after you, passing Naruto's spot without suspecting anything. Wanting to round back to him, you turned a corner into a crowded area and released the transformation Jutsu, the guards flew overhead, and with a laugh, you ran back to Naruto, only to see some middle-aged man with a scar across his nose scolding Naruto before tying him with a rope. Naruto's face was scrunched in disdain as he was helplessly dragged away, you chuckled at his predicament and substituted with Naruto, taking his place.

Now realizing he was free, he looked around in confusion before spotting you. You grinned at him and gave him your best thumbs-up though being tied up made it difficult. Naruto's eyes teared up and beamed with compassion and gratitude, you finally saw a real smile since meeting him.

The man dragged you for a bit, continuously ranting about Naruto's behaviour, scolding you before he glanced down to check on Naruto, who was no longer there, he paused and tried to comprehend the situation, "What the- who are you? AND WHERE'S NARUTO!?" You flinched at his volume and smiled up at him, "The name's {Name} and I don't know." Truth is, Naruto was following behind the entire time, currently, he was hiding behind a trashcan, you kept your eyes on the man so you didn't accidentally snitch on his hiding place.

He narrowed his eyes at you before realizing something, "You're the one who helped Naruto with his prank! You're in just as much trouble as he is! You just arrived in the village and you're already in trouble, you have no history of our Great Hokages, an outsider like you has no right to paint the great stone faces-" You tuned him out, you've already heard this type of lecture a few times, you had fun helping Naruto, and if he wanted to do it again, you'd help again.

Speaking of Naruto, he stepped out from behind his hiding spot, drawing both your and the man's attention, though he looked kinda angry, "Iruka-sensei! Don't talk to them like that and don't call them an outsider! They came to the village and the Hokage accepted them. {Name} is not an outsider! They're {Name}, a ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village!" Iruka and you were startled by Naruto's sudden outburst, Iruka's face fell as he stared at Naruto while you stared at Naruto with newfound admiration. Iruka dropped the rope he was dragging you by and grabbed Naruto, tying him as well. You stared at Naruto while you were both dragged to the Academy, a grin on your lips, one he matched.

Iruka was muttering under his breath the entire time, "You two are both in trouble. After school, you'll both be cleaning up every last drop of paint on the stone faces," you shrugged, accepting the punishment while Naruto shouted, making his disagreements known, "What!? That's going to take all night!" Iruka grew a irk mark, "Well then you shouldn't have painted them in the first place!"

Iruka stopped at the doors of the academy. You moved Naruto's arm as best you could and pulled out a kunai, cutting the ropes away and following Iruka inside. Naruto grumbled the whole time, arms crossed, "Hey, at least the village will see what we did before it's gone," he grinned at that, arms dropping from their crossed position, "Yeah! they'll see, I'll be a better Hokage than all of them!" Naruto was nice to be around, he calmed you down a lot and reminded you of the sun, it was easy to talk to him.
