I Like Having You In My Arms
I watched Gerard as he carefully flipped through some comic books. The store he had led me to was, mainly a comic book store, but they sold figures, books, and even a few vinyls.
"Angel face, you're staring at me..." He gazed up, and into my eyes. I stood on the opposite side of the comic book holds. They were like big cabinets, if the opening faced up and there were no doors.
"I know..." I said, "I can't help it. You're just, so cute." He smiled at this.
"You're cute too." He held two comic books in his hands as he walked over to me. When he adjusted his hold on the comic books, I took his free hand, and ventured around the store with him behind.
"This place is so cool." I said, gazing at the vinyls set in things similar to the comic book holds, only, they were wide enough to hold vinyl records.
"Yeah, it's why I like coming here." I began going through a random set of vinyls, seeing if I recognized any covers. Then, I spotted a familiar album with a painted banana that said peel and see at the top with Andy Warhol's signature at the bottom.
"Ever listen to The Velvet Underground?" I asked Gerard. He gazed at the album cover and shrugged.
"They sound familiar, but I'm not sure."
"Well, do you have a record player?"
"No, but Mikey does." I smirked.
"Wanna listen to The Velvet Underground with me?"
"It'd be my pleasure." I smiled excitedly before we went up to the counter and paid.
"C'mon angel face," He took my hand as we left the store, "We should probably find the others."
"Right..." I spoke somewhat saddened.
"Aww, sugar, I like spending time with you too." I like how he can get all that... just from my tone of voice... I love this boy so much...
"Race ya!" Gerard cried, but I tugged on his hand before he could take off.
"Yeah I'd rather not have you hurt yourself again." He chuckled.
"Fine..." We just walked together, watching the snow fall in silence.
It's moments like these I'll miss the most... just... being with him... oh, my Gerard... it's also... moments like these where I reconsider running away with him... starting a new life... maybe it wouldn't be so-
"There you are!" Ray cried, running up to us, "We've been looking for you guys."
"Why?" Gerard asked.
"Cause you guys just, left us!"
"We just went to the comic book store. I promise we're fine." I said. We began walking again with Ray beside Gerard.
"The others are-" But he was interrupted by Hayley.
"Y/n, holy shit!" She spoke excitedly. I just smiled, curiously at her. Before I could speak she pulled me aside, away from the two boys.
"Oh my god you won't believe what happened when you left!" She exclaimed. As I stood closer I realized she was blushing and smiling from ear to ear. She was more fidgety, not in an anxious way, but more, excitedly.
"What happened?" I asked. Her energy wafted onto me as I was now smiling just like her.
"We got into a snowball fight. Frank and I were on a team, behind a little fort we made. Oh my god..." She jumped up and down.
"Go on, go on!" I exclaimed.
"I threw a snowball and hit Pete in the face. He hit someone as well. We were doing so good. And then, oh, I threw a snowball at someone and before I knew it Frank had smashed his lips into mine and I was laying back on the snow with him on top of me!" She smacked her hands over her mouth in excitement.
"Oh Hayley, that's amazing!" I cried. She pulled her hand away and wouldn't stop smiling.
"I know! I know!" She giggled, "He was so cute, smiling and all..."
"Aww, I'm so happy for you. C'mon, we should join the others."
"Yeah..." She bit her lip, desperately trying to hold back her smiles, but she just couldn't do it.
"I'm bored." Mikey said.
"Yeah, I am too..." Frank said, then gazed over at Hayley, immediately smiling.
"We can go to my house," Gerard suggested, "We got hot cocoa."
"Oh, yes please." Ray said.
"I dunno..." Frank said, "You did shove snow down my pants."
"We got marshmallows..."
"Then why're we still standing here!?" Frank asked, "Let's go!" So we all followed Pete to his car.
"What were you and Hayley talking about?" Gerard asked, taking my hand. I gazed up and smiled.
"Hayley and Frank kissed."
"Damn, good for them." We piled into Pete's small car only meant for five. I was practically sitting on top of Gerard. Frank sat on the floor of the car while Mikey took the front seat. Ray and Hayley took the remaining back seats.
"Angel face..." Gerard said, taking note of the situation. He brought his arms around me protectively.
"Punk boy..."
"Hey! No making out in the backseat!" Pete cried as he drove off. Gerard scoffed.
"Like I care, c'mere angel face." I giggled but only kissed his cheek.
"I'm not making out with you in front of our friends."
"Like that's stopped us before," He chuckled, "But it's alright if you don't wanna..." There was a little smile on his face as he gazed at me. I just pecked his lips as the others began talking about something I wasn't paying attention to.
"You're so pretty my punk boy..." I spoke quietly so only he could hear.
"My angel face, you are too..." He kissed my cheek. He really is pretty... my sweet Gerard...
"We're here!" Pete cried, breaking Gerard and I out of our little trance we didn't even notice came over us.
"Oh," I was about to climb off of Gerard and get out, but, he scooped me up in his arms before I could even attempt, "Punk boy, you don't have to carry me everywhere..." I giggled, holding onto him with one arm while the other held my new vinyl.
"But I want to," He said, "I like having you in my arms."
"Aww..." I cooed, burying my face in his chest.
"Pumpkin..." He whispered before kissing the side of my head. Finally, he began walking inside the house. But, instead of walking into the kitchen, through the back door, and down the stairs, he went down the hallway. The others hung around the living room.
"Gerard, where're we going?" I asked.
"Mikey's, he's got the record player," I hummed. I knocked on the door for him, "Mikey...?"
"Gimme a sec!" After a moment, the door opened and Mikey stood there with his winter coat and boots off. He now wore a new set of clothes consisting of a faded band tee and jeans, while his signature beanie still sat on his head.
"What?"
"Can I borrow your record player?" Gerard asked.
"Why?" Mikey stepped out of the room, getting ready to head towards the living room.
"Cause me and Y/n wanna use it!" Mikey let out an irritated sigh.
"Fine, but put it back when you're done! I don't wanna have to see you two sucking face to get it back."
"Alright alright..." Mikey left for the living room and Gerard brought me into his brothers room.
"I've never been in Mikey's room." I gazed around the bedroom walls covered in band posters and little drawings.
"Sugar, I gotta set ya down."
"Oh, right..." He gently set me down on Mikey's bed. I sat on the edge of the Star Wars comforter, still admiring the walls.
"Shit, this thing is heavy..." Gerard muttered, I gazed over to see him struggling. His comic books sat on the floor beside him, "You wanna just, take over Mikey's room for the afternoon...?"
"I can't imagine how annoyed he'd be if he caught us making out in here," I bit my lip as I stared into Gerard's unsure eyes, "Lets do it." He chuckled, and grabbed the vinyl from my hand.
"Cool..." I watched his hands as he carefully took the vinyl out and set it down in the player. His fingers brought the needle to the record, and let the music play through the room.
"Oh, I already like this..." Gerard said as he grabbed the comic books from the floor and sat beside me on Mikey's bed.
"See! I told you they're good!" He adjusted his position so he sat up against the wall behind the side of Mikey's bed. I sat beside him. Gerard draped an arm over my shoulders.
"What comics did you get?"
"Batman, and Hellboy..."
"Cool..." He grabbed one and set it against his legs so I could see too. I rested my head on his shoulder. When he opened to the first page, he began reading it to me in different voices and accents that made me laugh.
"You're such a dork..." I giggled.
"Well, you're the one who fell in love with said dork..."
"Fair point, you can continue now..." I adjusted my sitting position as to get comfortable but also be able to see the drawings. He kissed the side of my head before doing as told.
OwO-
Mmmm the velvet underground. A fine band indeed. Ik you guys probably don't actually like/know them but I like to imagine my high school books are not set in present times or early 2000s. More like 90s.(although the velvet underground is from the 60s) but I like using music that was from that time or before then when they talk of music. That's why readers favorite bands are like, Nirvana, weezer, smashing pumpkins etc. plus all the other books always say her favorites are like, idk sleeping with sirens. I never liked that band. And I also like using bands I think Gerard would actually listen to yk? Ok ok I'm done. Have a wonderful day~peace out cheesebags
