Back with Sonic, he was using his speed to avoid the missiles sent by Eggman as the mad genius himself taunts the Blue Blur who yelled out in anger.

"SHUT UP!"

The hedgehog Spin Dashes Eggman's mech, only to bounce off of a shield.

"That's it? That's your witty comeback?" Eggman asks, a bit dissapointed. "Please, Sonic, I want our last game to have some merit."

Sonic crashes into the ground before standing up in anger.

"This is a game to you?!"

Eggman laughs.

"You thought your pitiful resistance actually had a chance against my empire?" Eggman asks, amused. "That boy you had with you could have had changed the tide of our war, but he's gone now!"

"What...?"

Eggman threw his giant wrecking ball at Sonic who narrowly dodges it.

"The world fell to me so quickly, so easily, that I was left with nothing to do!" the mad genius states. "I allowed you "Freedom Fighters" to exist so that I can entertain myself!"

"LIAR!" Sonic says as he avoid another attack. "You've tried--and failed--to beat us in the past!"

"I will concede you all have won my little war games more times than not. But so what?" Eggman says with a laugh. "Is Mobius more free than it was years ago?"

Eggman flies after Sonic who begins to speed away.

"That is why King Maximillian's attempt to rally support failed! The rest of the world knows I own and control them."

"They would've called us for help if--!" Sonic starts to say, only to quickly Spin Dash away to avoid laser blasts.

"They knew you were powerless, Sonic," Eggman says. "That's why they never asked for help. And that's why they never warned you about this!"

Eggman swings his wrecking ball at Sonic, hitting him and sending him flying back. He crashes into the ground, stunned as he shakily got to his feet.

"Come on, Rodent," Eggman taunts. "I'm not done with you yet."

"I'm not finished yet, Eggman..." Sonic says as he readies himself for a Spin Attack, only to be shot away.

"You were finished before the Egg Fleet even began bombardedment," Eggman says. "This machine here is designed to outclass you in both speed and strength!"

Sonic is knocked away again by Eggman's wrecking ball once more.

"The only reason you can take this much punishment is due to all those Magic Rings you once collected," Eggman smiles wickedly. "Which means I get to you with you longer than should be reasonable!"

Sonic crashes into the ground and struggles to stand back up, only for his eyes to widen when he sees missiles rocketing towards him. He braces himself for impact, a mighty explosion engulfing him and the area around him.

"Hohoho! This is so much fun, rodent!" Eggman exclaims. "I feel almost sad that no one is here to watch! You're all alone."

"No, he isn't!"

"HUH?!"

The smoke from the explosion is swiped away, revealing a very angry Y/n who was covered in electrical sparks.

"I'm here with him!"

"WHAT?!" Eggman questioned in shock. "I specifically sent Badniks to your coordinates to bomb and capture you! How are you still here?!"

"Hmph. Robots aren't enough to stop me, Eggman," Y/n states, his tired eyes filled with anger. He turns to look at Sonic. "Mind if I tag in while you recuperate?"

"Be my guest, pal," Sonic says and smirks at Eggman. "You're in for it now, Robuttnik."

Eggman growls and sends more missiles, the projectiles rocketing towards Y/n who only clicks his teeth.

"Chaos Spear!"

His arm is covered in a green electrical glow before he swipes it through the air, sending green spear-shaped energy blasts which hit the missiles and blows them all up.

Then, from the smoke, Eggman comes rocketing towards Y/n as Sonic uses what energy he has left to speed away. Eggman uses his machine's hand to grab Y/n and drag him through the dirt, tossing him away after which sends the human teen crashing through some already ruined homes. However, he gets back up quickly just as Eggman swings his wrecking ball at him, only for it to be kicked back and nearly hit Eggman's metal warrior in the process.

"Whoa! That was close!" he says and turns back to Y/n. "But you missed!"

He fired lasers at the human who makes a shield to block them with his Energy Rings. Then Y/n speeds over to Eggman who tries to slam Y/n into the ground, only to miss as the Chaos Energy-user slides in between the machine's legs. He follows by leaping into the air and shoulder slamming Eggman away, sending him crashing into the ground.

"What have you done to Sally?!" Y/n asks as he lands on the ground.

"Excuse me?" Eggman questions.

"Don't act stupid! I ran around the entire place to see if there were any survivors!" Y/n yells. "Now... where is Sally?"

Eggman smirks as he gains an idea.

"The princess?" he asks as he stands back up. "Let's just say... she won't be a problem any more."

Eggman smirks evilly at Y/n, making the boy's eyes widen in shock as only the worse runs through his mind. Eggman... killed Sally?

Y/n gritted his teeth as he clenched his fists, his hair flaring up and flashing a golden color with green sparks around him before his hair drops and returns to normal.

"BASTARD!"

Y/n roars at Eggman, being engulfed in a raging green aura as he rockets at his enemy. He rears his arm back for an attack as Eggman's eyes widen in shock, quickly putting his shield in front of him just as Y/n's fist makes contact with it. Y/n yells in anger as he pushes Eggman's machine forward, crashing him into trees and other destroyed homes with a mighty force.

They crash into the castle, Y/n finally letting off of Eggman as he lets him crash into a stone wall.

"Ooh... that was a bit rough," Eggman says as he pilots his creation back to its feet and looks at his now dented shield. "I can't believe it! You dented my shield!"

Y/n's eyes widen in shock. He only dented the shield from his attack? No way!

"Grrr! Let's see how much your robot can take!" Y/n shouts and rockets towards Eggman once more.

He goes for a punch only for it to be dodged and Y/n immediately follows with a kick, only to be caught and slammed into and dragged across the stone walls around the two.

"You think I wasn't prepared for you, either?!" Eggman asks Y/n and throws him away. "I'm Ivo Robotnik! I'm prepared for anything!"

Y/n crashes into the dirt and narrowly dodges Eggman's wrecking ball, only to be engulfed in an explosion caused by missiles. Y/n is sent flying back as Eggman laughs.

"You may be empowered by Chaos Energy, but you're nowhere near as durable as Sonic," Eggman says as he walks forward. "And you're already too much of a threat to me. I would love you to power my machines in an Egg Grape, or even Roboterize you and serve in my army, but I don't think that would work."

Nearby, Danny is seen running through the ruined Knothole as he searches for Y/n, unaware that he was currently fighting Eggman.

"Y/n!" he calls out. "Where are you, pal?!"

He calls out for his friend a few more times before his attention is nabbed by a nearby explosion. He turns to see his human friend fly out of a smoke cloud and crash into the ground.

"Y/n!"

He calls out to his best friend with terrified eyes. Then he sees Eggman raise his machine's arm and slam them together, aiming them at Y/n. Thinking of the worse, Danny runs towards Y/n in hopes of saving him.

Y/n weakly gets back up, only to fall to one knee and looks back up at Eggman with blood coming from his head and lips.

"And that is why I must eliminate you," Eggman says and raises up both arms.

He slams them together and takes aim at Y/n, the arms transforming into a giant laser cannon which makes Y/n's eyes widen in fear. The cannon's insides glow a powerful red as Eggman smiles.

"So long, pest."

With that, a giant laser beam fires from the cannon and rockets towards Y/n. Y/n's wide eyes soon droop as he knows he won't be able to survive the attack, lowering his head as he accepts his fate. And he couldn't move, even if he wanted to. He doesn't enough energy for it.

'I'm sorry, Maria...'

As a tear escapes one of his closed eyes, Y/n suddenly feels an unknown force connect to his cheek. Opening his eyes as he gets sent to the side, his eyes widen in fear as he looks upon his savior.

"Dan...ny...?"

"I told you to dodge, kid," Danny tells Y/n with a smirk before it turns into a soft smile. "See ya... brother."

"DANNY!"

Y/n reaches out for the person he was closest to other than Sally, but he fell short as Eggman's laser engulfs the lion.

"NOOOOO!!!"

Y/n finally falls to the ground and looks back up at the laser, seeing it still firing as tears appear in the human's eyes. Then the beam disperses, revealing that  nothing of Danny was left.

"No..." tears began to fall down Y/n's cheeks as looks at the last place he saw Danny, standing up only to fall back down to his knees. "No... please... this can't be real... not again..."

"I love you... Y/n..."
"MARIA!"

"See ya... brother."
"DANNY!"

Eggman letts out a huff as his Egg Beater's arms return to normal and he drops them to his side. He looks to see that Y/n was still alive, letting out a small laugh as he knows that someone else must've taken the blow for the human.

"Well, would you look at that. Looks like you werent strong enough to save yourself, or the one who just saved you," Eggman smiles evilly as he laughs. "What would Maria think?"

Y/n froze. He couldn't believe what he heard. He did hear that correctly, right? Eggman's words erased everything from Y/n's mind except for the faces of Danny and Maria. He felt nothing...

... but rage, pain, and sorrow.

Y/n grits his teeth as he drags his fingers through the dirt before clenching his hand into a fist. Green electrical sparks of energy shoot from his body as the clouds above starts to darken and roar with thunder. Y/n's hair began rising and falling, flashing a golden color and even an emerald color every-so-often.

"Uh... Uncle Ivo?" Snively calls to his uncle via a computer communicator.

"What is it, Snively?" Eggman responds to his nephew.

"Y-you're not gonna believe this, but..." Snively trails off as his entire body shakes in shock.

"What is it, Snively?" Eggman asks. "Spit it out!"

"It's Y/n! My scanners are picking up a rising energy surge coming from him!"

Eggman's eyes widen in surprise as he looks over at Y/n, seeing his hair rise and fall. Then he looks up, seeing the dark clouds above as thunder crashes inside them.

"Y-you bastard..."

"This can't be good...."

Meanwhile...

At Scourge's current base, a white echidna with glasses is seen sitting on a throne. He was alone as he had sent Scourge and his friends on a mission. His eyes were closed as he was thinking, only for them to snap open when he senses a massive surge of Chaos Energy.

"Wh-what... is this?" he asks as he body shook. "I-I've never felt this kind o-of power before... Only f-from the Master Emerald..."

Angel Island...

On Angel Island, Locke is seen just like the white echidna just before. His entire body was shaking as his eyes were wide with terror.

"S-so much power... B-but this power is something o-only the Master Emerald could a-achieve..." he stutters as he shakes. "There's no w-way anyone can output this m-much energy..."

Something starts to glow in the corner of his eye, making Locke turn to see that the Master Emerald was glowing violently and shooting out green sparks of energy. Locke's eyes widen as he realizes who this power is coming from.

"Y/n..."

Knothole...

Powerful bolts of lightning start to strike the ground around Y/n and Eggman, the evil genius doing his best to avoid the bolts as Y/n pays to no kind to them. The ground even starts to shake and rumble which barely affects Y/n as he slowly stands up.

"Y-you... you did this..." Y/n mumbles as he stands to his feet.

"St-stop this!" Eggman orders Y/n. "Stop this this instant!"

"You hurt everyone..." Y/n says as he holds his head in pain. "You killed Sally... and took her from me..."

Y/n begins to emit green energy from his body that only starts out small and thin...

"You... I'LL KILL YOU!"

... only for Y/n to let out a mighty yell and make the green energy explode around him. He sends out pulse after pulse of energy, making Eggman's scanners go crazy and even break them as Eggman has difficulty keeping his Egg Beater steady.

Y/n then begins to yell even louder, his irises flashing red before the entirety of his eyes get enveloped and his irises seemingly shatter and vanish. Then Y/n lets his power explode around him as a pillar of green light shoots into the sky, the teen's eyes red and his hair spiked as he rises up the pillar of energy.

Y/n's yelling continues to grow louder as he gives one more hard glare at Eggman, sending a chill down his skin before Y/n lets out an even mightier roar. This makes all the energy around him constrict into a ball of energy around him, then all the energy shoots out as balls and crash into the ground all around.

Eggman uses his shield to block the blasts as Sonic and the other, who were nearby, try their best to avoid the energy blasts.

"What's going on?!" Sonic asks in terror.

"It's Chaos Energy!" Knuckles exclaims in shock. "But I've never felt this much before!"

Finally ending the rain of energy blasts, Y/n looks back at Eggman with a completely berserker look on his face. It looked like Eggman has almost soiled himself, or maybe he has already, from sheer terror.

"Eggman..." Y/n growls before he lets out a loud shout. "EGGMAN! GRAAAAAGH!!!"

He charges forward, his hair spiked and an emerald green as his shirt and jacket were completely torn off. He opens his palms and creates two balls of Chaos Energy in them as he rockets towards Eggman and his Egg Beater.

"W-w-wait! We can talk about this!" Eggman tells Y/n, only to whimper in fear. "Oh, my gears and starters..."

Y/n slams into the Egg Beater with a mighty explosion, the two flying out of the blast with Y/n slamming and dragging the Egg Beater through the ground. He stops dragging it through the ground, only to to stand on its torso and start crashing his fists into the machine. Each strike was powerful enough to create a crater underneath the two, which only grew larger with each hit.

Then, with a loud roar, Y/n held his fists together and slammed them once more into the Egg Beater. The crater grows larger one final time before Y/n raises his hands from the ruined Egg Beater, breathing heavily before he digs his hands into the Egg Beater's head and tears it open. However, it wasn't what he wanted to see.

"No..."

Y/n growls as he clenches his fists, looking at the head that was only filled with wires and gears. No Eggman was in sight. The Egg Beater was just a robot piloted by Eggman from afar. This made Y/n even more enraged as he yelled and started to repeatedly slam his fists into the machine once more.

He kept on going and going until the robot was reduced to nothing but flattened metal. Y/n breathes heavily as he slowly raises his fists from the broken robot, his entire body shaking as he stands on top of the ruined machine.

"Y/n...?"

The berserk teenager snaps his head to look at who spoke, seeing Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles standing together. Amy and Tails both take a step back at Y/n's contorted face as Sonic and Knuckles step forward, ready to fight if needed.

Y/n stares at them for a little longer before fully turning to the four Mobians and began stepping towards them. However, before he could too close, Y/n's emerald hair fades away as it drops from its spiky style and his eyes return to normal, and Y/n immediately fell to the ground with a gasp, unconscious from too much power output.

"What just happened?"
