Not long after Sonic returned to New Mobotropolis, he was assigned a mission to go to Moebius in hopes of finding a way to stop Scourge. Sonic had since packed his bags while Tails and Rotor were doing the finishing touches on the new Star Posts. He also learned that he wasn't going alone on the mission.

"Are you, um... ready, Amy?" Sonic asks his admirer.

"I'll be with you, Sonic!" Amy declares. "I'll be ready for anything!"

"Alright, you two," Sally walks into the lab. "Do you remember the plan?"

"Head over to Scourge's home Zone and find a way to reverse his invasion," Sonic slams a fist into his palm.

"And cause him problems at home if we can," Amy says as she summons her Piko-Piko Hammer.

"I thought this was a solo mission," Sonic tells Sally.

"You'll need backup on a hostile world we know little about," Sally states. "Besides, Amy's been dying for more time with you."

"You're cruel."

Sally giggles a bit before turning to Tails and Rotor.

"How are the secondary Star Posts looking boys?"

"I think we're done, princess," Rotor says.

"All set to head to Moebius," Tails informs.

"Just a heads up," Rotor tells Sonic and Amy, "we don't know where on Moebius the portal will drop you, so be careful."

"Lovely," Sonic says as he prepares to run. "Thanks for that, Rotor. On that note, here we--"

Sonic and Amy run through the portal. However, they end up in a rather nice looking hallway.

"--go?"

They look around as the portal shimmers and closes behind them.

"You know, the way Rotor put it," Sonic says, "I was expecting something more... perilous."

"For an evil alternate dimension, it's really nice looking," Amy says as she looks at a painting of some Chao.

"Hold it right there!"

"Now that's more like it!"

Sonic and Amy turn to see a giant robot flying at them. It throws down a fist which the two dodge, making the blue and yellow robot's fist crack the floor.

"Ain't nobody gettin' a drop on the doctor!"

"Want to bet this hunk of junk means Anti-Robotnik is here?" Amy asks as she his the machine's legs.

"Yep!" Sonic Spin Attacks the robot. "It's about time he built a bot."

"You ain't layin' a hand on him!" the robot declares and fires some sort of gel at Amy's feet which instantly hardens. "And you can just sit a spell!"

The robot fires soundwaves at Sonic, stopping him in his tracks and making him dizzy.

"Whooga..." Sonic stumbles around. "Not cool..."

Suddenly, panicked footsteps are heard as a man in a red shirt and black pants runs down the hall.

"No, Buns! Stop!" he orders the robot. "They aren't enemies!"

"You sure, Doc?"

"Positive," the man says as he helps Sonic to his feet. "This is Sonic the Hedgehog, from the Prime Zone."

"Oh. Sorry 'bout that. Can't see colors too well in this thing," the robot, Buns, states and breaks Amy free. "That riot foam firms up pretty nice, didn't it?"

Sonic dusts himself off, as does Amy, and smiles at the man.

"Thanks for the save, Doc," he tells the doctor. "Your versions of us are making trouble back home. We came to see if we could find something here that could stop their invasion."

"I thought Scourge and his Suppression Squad had gone unusually quiet. You have my deepest apologies," the man says. "Please, shall we continue this outside? It's such a lovely day."

New Mobotropolis, Mobius...

"I hate this part," Sally says as she paces back and forth. "The waiting is killing me."

"Anything?" Tails asks Rotor.

"Not yet," the genius walrus answers. "The Star Posts were originally supposed to go to the Special Zone, not any of the more distant ones. We're lucky the portal stayed open as long as it did."

Suddenly Antoine walks in, catching Sally's attention.

"Antoine?"

"Have Sonic and Amy already leave?"

"Yes," Sally answers. "Why?"

"Tails' Anti is outside ze city," Antoine informs. "Bunnie is guarding him."

"Tails--!"

"Right behind you!" the boy genius says as he follows Sally out of the lab. Not long after did they arrive outside the city's dome to face Miles.

"Yes, yes. A marvelous show of power, keeping me here with Mrs. Rabbot-D'coolette," Miles says as he sarcastically claps. "Now how about we all calm down before someone gets hurt."

"Why are you here?" Sally asks Tails' Anti.

"I'm here under the pretense of bombing your city," the twin-tailed communist tosses a bag filled with bombs out in front of him. "Given that I made no effort to hide and that I'm explaining myself--slowly--I'm obviously not intending to complete that mission."

"Then... what are you here for?"

"The Suppression Squad is less fond of Scourge than you are. Especially with how he treats Anarchy now," Miles informs with distaste. "You hold a trump card in Sonic. I came here to propose an alliance."

The Grand Forest, Moebius...

"Is this your first time in our Zone, Miss Rose?" the man asked Amy who sat on a log.

"Yes sir, it is," Amy replies.

"Then allow me to introduce you to my world," the scientist says with a kind smile. "I am Dr. Ivo Kintobor. I run the hospital tower we just came from. It houses the force-field generator I use to protect the Grand Forest and all the Moebians who fear King Scourge's tyranny. It is... also the former home of my world's Y/n."

"Wow! I can't even see the field," Amy says in awe.

"Good!" Kintobor says. "You're not supposed to."

(Or maybe the writers and artists didn't want to illustrate it in.)

"What can you tell us about Scourge and his latest batch of craziness?" Sonic asks the genius.

"I'm afraid that's my fault," Kintobor admits. "Scourge had Y/n storm my tower and steal my experimental Globe Posts. They must have used them to cross into your Zone."

"They're jerks. We understand," Amy assures the compassionate scientist. "What did you need those Posts for?"

"I had hoped to search other Zones for new medical techniques," Kintobor admits. "I need something to heal Buns Rabbot."

"Come to think of it, I didn't see the Anti-Bunnue with the Stupid Squad," Sonic says. "Where is she?"

"Right here."

Sonic and Amy turn to the robot, only for its head to lift open and reveal Buns Rabbot inside.

"Not long ago, I developed NIDS. Started in the base of mah spine," Buns informs. "Scourge kicked me out and left me for dead. The Doc here too me in and built me this suit."

"It was the least I could do," Kintobor says. "My Omega Care Unit creates a stasis field that prevents her condition from progressing and supports her immune system."

Kintobor then frowns.

"But she is still mostly trapped within the robot body," he states. "I will not rest until she walks freely once more."

"And 'til then, I'll protect the Doc from those back-stabbin' so-and-sos!" Buns declares.

"I am still not pleased arming Omega, but at least she only wields non-lethal weapons."

"Like that quick-hardening riot foam! Ick!" Amy says in disgust.

"And the dizzy-making soundwaves. Cool," Sonic points out.

"Yes, but it is not the only reason I wanted those Globe Posts."

Sonic and Amy turn to Kintobor in confusion.

"There's more?" they ask.

"Yes. The other reason is my world's Y/n," Ivo informs. "I'm sure you've met his alter-ego, Anarchy, as well as seen him fight your world's Y/n."

"Yeah. He's super dangerous," Sonic states.

"What do you want to do with him?" Amy asks.

It takes a moment for Kintobor to answer, but he does so.

"Have you ever heard the saying 'kick a puppy enough times, and it will grow to attack everyone it sees'?"

"Well, yeah," Amy says. "Why?"

"Y/n is that poor little pup. He has been broken for years, and I wish to help him," Ivo states. "He has fallen into, for lack of a better word, insanity."

"Yeah, we noticed that," Sonic says. "But why do you want to help him? He's a bad guy."

"Just because he is mad doesn't make him bad," the doctor states defensively. "Ever since he fell into madness, he has rarely been unable to make his own decisions. He has turned to Scourge for that, making him fall deeper down into that pit of darkness. He has been using that poor boy as a weapon."

"What...?" Amy questions.

"I noticed that Scourge and Y/n were friends at first, but as time went on he used the lad as a tool for his own gain," Kintobor states. "But he never realized it. As I said before, he is nothing but a broken puppy following a terrible owner. I wish to find a remedy for his shattered mind and save him from Scourge."

"Many, including Ah, have told the Doc that's it's no use," Buns butted in. "He is far too gone."

"And I refuse to believe that," Ivo retorts. "No one is far too gone if you look hard enough."

"Well, now we know how this all started," Sonic says, realizing that, if conditions were right, his world's Y/n could've turned out to be just like his Anti. "We can help you. But we need to know how to stop Scourge's invasion, as well as find our Y/n and Nicole."

"Hm?" Ivo questioned as he turned to Sonic.

"He's been missing for nearly a week, along with our AI, Nicole. We think he's been with Anarchy," Sonic states. "We need to find them, and find a way to throw Scourge off his game."

"Maybe more of these robots?" Amy suggests as she looks at Buns and the Omega Care Unit.

"No, no. I named it 'Omega' because it was a last resort," the doctor rejects. "I refuse to build an army."

"They could recruit you-know-who," Buns suggests.

"Absolute not! She's far too dangerous! Don't even joke like that!"

"Sounds like just the peril I've been looking for!" Sonic exclaims.

"Please, Dr. Kintobor! They've taken Freedom HQ and may press on at any minute," Amy tells the doctor. "We need any lead you can give us."

Kintobor contemplates whether to say who it was or not. But eventually...

"Rosy the Rascal. The Anti-Amy," he informs. "She hates Scourge. She gets well along with Y/n, however."

"Oh, and I wonder why," Sonic says sarcastically.

New Mobotropolis, Mobius...

"We hate Scourge. The leadership of the Anti-Freedom Fighters has always been in flux. That's just how it is. He came back and ruined everything," Miles tells Sally and the Freedom Fighters outside of New Mobotropolis. "He had Anarchy beat us into submission. He was bent on making us something more than your 'evil twins'. We had to take on new names and appearances. Some of us took that to the extreme."

Miles takes a moment to breathe. He shivered as he remembered Scourge's evil grin and Anarchy's twisted laughter. But his rage nearly made him pop when he remembered how Scourge treated Anarchy.

"We were his backup as he and Anarchy conquered the whole planet. He renamed our world 'Moebius' and made himself king. Then he got bored," Miles continues. "So he had Anarchy steal Dr. Kintobor's technology and made us invade the Prime Zone. We don't dare stand against him alone with Anarchy under his thumb. He's simply too powerful."

"So you want us to help you overwhelm him?" Tails asks.

"Please don't talk, little boy," the Anti tells his counterpart. "We're trying to have an intelligent conversation."

"WHAT?! Who do you think--?!"

"Our teams are evenly matched, and both Y/n and Anarchy are gone," Sally tells Miles. "But if Sonic can slow Scourge down, our combined strength should beat him."

"Precisely," Miles says. "We've already rigged your Star Posts to send him back to Moebius."

"Sounds like a solid plan, but we don't have Nicole to tell us if you were lying or not, so we have to take this risk," Sally says as she and Miles shake hands. "Alright, then. Sonic isn't here now, but we can count on him to show when we need him."

"Excellent," Miles smirks. "Then here's the plan..."

Kintobor's Tower, Moebius...

Back on Moebius, Kintobor had situated Sonic and Amy with enough supplies for the journey to find Rosy the Rascal.

"Thank you, Doctor!" Amy thanks the man.

"So where do we find Rosy?" Sonic asks.

"My best guess is Castle Acorn. She stalks Scourge relentlessly, and that's where he was last seen," Kintobor answered and walked up to Buns. "Are your systems running? Are there any tune-ups you need? Perhaps if I ran another diagnostic--"

"Don't worry none, Doc," the NIDS victim tells Ivo. "The bot's fine, and I'll keep the do-gooders safe."

Ivo nods and and walks over to check on Sonic.

"How do you intend to get back home?" he asks. "Is your pack chaffing?"

"Hopefully your Globe Posts are still up and running at the castle," Sonic says. "Can we go now?"

Kintobor nods and Sonic smirks. He then picks up Amy bridal-style and speeds off with Buns right behind them.

"Slow down!" she tells the two. "It's like you know the way already!"

"This is Anti-Mobius, right?" Sonic asked. "I remember where our Robotropolis was from the Great Forest, which puts your Castle Acorn the same distance from the Grand Forest."

It wasn't long until until the trio arrived at the castle. It was ruined and falling apart, with holes scattered around.

"Cripes..." Amy says. "How could you stand to live in such a dump?"

"Never was a fan of your cushy life," Buns states. "'Sides, it's a castle."

They all walk inside, the castle just as bad inside as it was outside.

"Y'all see a dump. Ah see the freedom to do whatevah Ah want," the country belle states.

"And you didn't want a decor that wasn't falling apart?" Amy asks.

Something moves in the shadows.

"Yo, ladies!" Sonic calls out. "Did anybody see that?"

Amy and Buns shook their head and Sonic looks around. Then a creepy voice starts singing, the lyrics echoing throughout the castle.

"Deep inside the Castle Acorn~"

The three move forward as the singing continues.

"Invaders sneaky-creeping~ They don't see my mallet coming~"

"Tracked the source," Buns says. "Throne room."

Sonic nods as he runs forward, followed by Amy and Buns.

"POP! Goes their he-ads~!"

Sonic kicks open the door, barging into the throne room with his two friends.

"Rosy the Rascla, I presume?" he asks. "You'll forgive us if we don't call for an encore?"

"Oh, phooey. You're not my Scourgey. And you're not Annie, either," the Anti-Amy says as she sits in the worn-out throne. "Annie and my Scourgey and ran away, y'know?"

"Er... right," Sonic says. "That's why we're here. We were hoping you'd help--"

"Scourgey is always so mean. He ignored all my attacks when I was little," Rosy complains. "I used the magic in a special ring to make myself older. Now I'm a big girl with a big hammer and still Scourgey runs away. Annie is fun, though. He likes to smash things, too!"

Rosy lets out a maniacal giggle, making Sonic and Amy uncomfortable.

"That's kind of like what I did," Amy says, "only she makes it sound creepy."

"And given this Zone," Sonic says, "I'm willing to bet there was some kind of side-effect."

"Oh, yes! It broke my brain allll to pieces! Shatter-shatter!" Rosy says as she grabs her hammer. "SO NOW I BREAK EVERYTHING ELSE! EEEHEEHEE!"
