"Cassian is my ex!" You blurt out. "Your...ex?" Draco asks. "Yeah, he was...he was my boyfriend. We broke up 2 months ago," You explain, remembering the details of your relationship.

You yelp as someone hugs you from behind. "Did you miss me?" You smile. "I was bored out of my mind without you there, Cass," You reply. "How was algebra?" You ask him. "Eh, not bad." Cassian says, moving to walk next to you. "There's this cute girl in my class though..." He says, and you slap him on the arm. "Kidding! Kidding! You'll always be my special girl," He says, ruffling your hair and kissing you briefly. Your hands touch as you part ways. "See you at lunch!" Cassian calls. "See you!" You call back, walking to English.

~2 months ago~

"Cass, I have something to tell you," You say, leaning against his chest as you sit on a bench in a nearby park. "Go ahead, you know you can tell me anything." He says, pulling you closer. "I...I'm moving schools." You say, sadness lacing your voice. "What? Why?" Cassian asks softly, his blue eyes meeting yours. "I...have no choice. My parents want me to go there, and I can't exactly say no, trust me, I've tried." You say, playing with his soft brown hair. "I see," He replies, his tone saddening. "Does that mean...?" You nod, tears welling up in your eyes. "I'm sorry Cass, I really am. But there's nothing I can do about it." You say, the tears rolling down your cheeks. Cassian wipes them away with his thumb. "Sara, you know I care about you, but if your parents say you have to, then you have to." He says soothingly, embracing you and rubbing your back as you cry against his chest. You pull away and gently press your forehead against his. "I don't want to leave you, Cass." You say, trying to steady your breathing. "And I don't want you to go." He replies, tilting your chin up. "But there are some things we can't change," He says, pressing his lips to yours, kissing you gently. "I'll always be with you Alora. No matter how far apart we are."

~flashback finished~

Alora. That was Cassian's special name for you, it meant 'my dream'. Without thinking you cover your mouth and start sobbing. "Brennan, what's wrong?" Draco asks worriedly, crouching down so that he is level with you. "I'm sorry, I just-" You start. "Brennan, it's okay, it's alright." Draco stops you. He walks to the other side of the bed and sits, moving so that he is leaning against the headboard. "Come here," He says, and you crawl over and sit next to him, pulling your legs in. You're too much of an emotional mess to think straight, so, you lean your head against Draco's chest and sit there in silence until you eventually fall asleep.

I invite her to come sit next to me on the bed. She slowly leans her head against my chest, and before I realize it, she's fallen asleep. "Brennan." I shake her slightly. She just groans and nestles her head into the crook of my neck. Bloody hell. What if someone comes in? I grab a strand of her black and blue hair, playing with it for a bit before a familiar scent makes its way to my nose. Lavender mint. I turn my head and smell her hair. It's the same smell as the one in the amortentia. I knew it was her.

You wake up some time later, and find yourself leaning on a sleeping Draco. His arm is draped around your back, to make sure you didn't fall. You smile warmly as you slip out of the bed without waking him. You write a small note and leave it on his nightstand before apparating to the girl's dormitory.

I open my eyes and find that Sarafina has gone. I look over at my nightstand and see she left a note.

Draco,

Thank you for comforting me, even though you didn't have to. I thank you for doing that and making me feel safe. See you in class.

You lie down on your bed, waiting for Daphne to return from the library when you hear the door open then close. You lift your head from the mattress. Just another Slytherin girl. She soon leaves and you are back to waiting. You hear someone apparate into the room and are surprised to see Draco standing before you. "Draco?" He smiles slightly, holding up the note you left. "Just came to say you're welcome," He says. You smile softly. "Is that all?" You ask with an arched brow. "I believe so," He responds, lifting his wand.

Suddenly you remember Daphne's instructions. "Wait!" You say, somehow having teleported from the bed to Draco, and you are now grabbing his wrist. You immediately release his wrist, wringing your hands. "Sorry, I um...yea." You stammer. Draco raises an eyebrow. "Did you need something Brennan?" He asks, and you bite your lip. "I...yes, actually." Draco motions for you to continue. "Do you want to go on a date with me?" You say quickly, closing your eyes.

You feel a pair of arms wrap around you, and for once, you feel that same warmth inside of you that you had with Cassian. You return his embrace, and you hear him whisper against your hair. "I'd love to."
