"...vampire's are real and Bella is dating one...my mind is struggling to wrap around this new knowledge - I accepted shape shifters but I've found myself fear this place ever since the reveal of vampires. I grew up reading stories of how vampires were deadly and dangerous...and here I am living one of these stories. But now I've been having a more open view to this new information - like what my life would be like if it wasn't for the accident - I wouldn't know about the wolves or vampires which granted I would prefer, but I wouldn't have met Embry. - Abigail xx"

Previously: "Yeah that's right, Bella your friend, we call her Leech Lover cause her boyfriend is a vampire" the word is spoken with such venom that I knew it was the truth. And for the second time in less than 24 hours I feel my sight and hearing vanish from me as my body collides with a strong one.

Abigail's POV

Today is Saturday, so I had woken up expecting to hear the usual boisterous noises of the boys, did I get that? No. Now this wasn't the first time I hadn't heard them but then usually they'd walk in. I had been sitting here in the dining room for nearly 2 hours in that time I had made breakfast, eaten it and cleaned up after myself including all the dishes. Still no sign of the boys. And you're all probably wondering where's Emily? Well she left a note saying she was shopping for groceries and would be back.

So, I decided to lounge around the house starting with the couches, throwing my bored body down onto the soft couch I lay looking at the ceiling wondering where all the boys could be. It's a weekend and I don't remember them saying that they had work so I was curious as to where they were, what if they were in trouble? What if they were cliff diving...without me? As I was mulling around the different possibilities the front door opened, I knew it was only Emily from her soft footsteps.

I lift my head up from the couch and call out to her in greeting "hey Em"

"OH! Abbie, you scared me"

I feel myself chuckle "sorry Em, um hey do you know where the guys are?"

"Yea Sam had to have a pack meeting they should be here soon though, why?"

"Oh no reason I was just really curious as to why I didn't have to fight over food"

I hear her light laughter as she is putting the groceries away. As I put my head back again, I feel my phone buzz on my stomach, I grasp my phone and see that I had an incoming call from Bella. Sliding the 'accept call' button across as I sit up I place the phone to my ear, I hear her soft voice filter through the speaker "hey Abigail"

"Hi Bella, what's up?" I stretch my back as I wait for her response, however, it's not long before I hear her stumbling over what to say

"I was ah wondering if you wanted to um maybe join me at Edward's house for lunch...today ah his family wants to meet you" by the end her voice has gotten quieter but I could make out what she wanted. Lunch with Edwards 'family' so I agreed with a cautious "yeah sure" before we hung up with our goodbyes. I lay back down on the couch and realise what I actually agreed to.

Lunch with vampires.

How hard could it be?

So, with that thought I go to my room to begin getting ready for this lunch.

I change into a black peplum top, and slightly struggle to put on my dark denim skinny jeans, I do a loose braid into a low ponytail allowing my bangs to hang freely by my face. I quickly do a nude smokey eye and pink lip adding a little bit extra mascara to lengthen my lashes I finish the look by sliding my nude heels on. I grab a black cardigan and rush down the stairs - careful of the slim heels - and make it to the knocking door.

When I open the door, I see Bella standing there in denim jeans her converse and a nice top with her jacket over her shoulders, I suddenly feel very over dressed for a lunch at her boyfriend's house. Which was really a meet the vampires you know about, but still lunch none the less. She smiles at me and notices my outfit, I see her eyebrows raise but she doesn't comment

"Hey, thanks for coming...I know it's all still new to you"

"Yeah it is with the whole..." I was about to say werewolf, when I remembered Embry told me that Bella doesn't know that they can shift. So I swallow and add a little bit more of a nervous tone to my voice "...vampire's being real", I glance up and notice that Bella was nodding her head

"I understand, I went through the same thing, except I did research because I was suspicious" we share a laugh and get into the truck, Bella reverses from the driveway and makes her way down the long-curved roads.

Bella pulls into the driveway to this multi-story mansion, I mean it was huge. There were walls of glass looking out to the forest from all sides, it was such a gorgeous sight. I turn to Bella with my mouth agape "woah, this is where he lives?" I see Bella nod her head, damn.

"Yeah Edward lives here with his adoptive family" she laughs at my reaction as I continue to stare dumbfounded ahead of me, I hear her door open and scramble to unbuckle my seatbelt "wait til you see inside you'll be even more amazed". I follow after Bella as she makes her way towards the front door, before we even make it up the steps the door opens wide and a petite pale, angelic woman is in the doorway.

She was probably around 5 foot with a short pixie cut, while her eyes shone a dazzling gold. All in all she was breathtakingly beautiful. Her eyes light up as her mouth stretches into a smile "hi I'm Alice, you must be Abbie", her voice is light and calming, I feel stumped and just nod my head. Her tinkling laughter followed as she led us through the house, I felt intimidated when I noticed the 5 other figures standing near the entrance.

Bella had moved to Edward's side, so now I was left awkwardly standing near the door, I could feel the 5 new pairs of golden eyes watching me. I take in the slender pale man with golden curls - Jasper - who looked to be in pain looking at me but seemed to calm once Alice was beside him, beside him was this large bulk of man, his muscles straining in his t-shirt - Emmett - but he had a kind face. In his arms was a gorgeous blonde - Rosalie - who was super model material except the scowl that she had on her face marred her beauty.

Lastly there was another couple the man was slender with golden locked hair and a kind face - Carlisle - tucked into his side was yet another beautiful woman - Esme - with strawberry blonde hair and a motherly face. They all had those deep golden eyes, which made me curious; did all vampires have gold eyes? After Alice had introduced all her family to me, I couldn't help but think about how all their names were not from this decade well maybe besides Alice's, it was as I start to think deeper into this I hear a quiet chuckle come from Edward.

I narrow my brows at him and can't help but feel as if he knew what I was thinking, which should be impossible but now I don't know what to believe. I was about to go over to Edward and Bella, to question about what I was just thinking, but before I could Esme had announced that lunch was served.

Now let me just say you don't know what awkward is until you have had lunch with 7 vampires and 2 humans are the only ones who eat, that was something I learnt over the course of the meal. Vampires can't eat human food their bodies can't process the food and it makes them feel sick, which I found interesting, however, it made lunch quite uncomfortable as it was Bella and I eating while the others sat there watching us, I can now positively say I prefer lunch with the boys. They would actually eat and were loud, thinking about the boys my mind drifted to Embry and I felt my lips turn up into a smile.

Even though the Cullen's don't eat due to their vampirism, holy crap can Carlisle and Esme cook. The food they prepared was absolutely delicious, it made me wonder if they used to cook when they were humans and if they just kept that skill with what tasted good together. Although lunch was uncomfortable the Cullen's tried to make me feel at ease with conversation, however, I learnt easily that Rosalie was not the most pleasant person. I wish she would smile more as it would accentuate her beauty but maybe after a while, she'll get used to me...but I found that highly unlikely.

One; I think she just doesn't like others or more specifically humans, and two; I don't think I will spending much time with the Cullen's, so she won't have to like me. But this is just my thoughts and original plans, I had this nagging feeling in the back of my mind and in the pit of my stomach, that I would be seeing myself with the Cullen's a lot in the future. I'm brought back to the present when my eyes latch onto Alice's stiff form, she seems to be in another world, I go to shake her but before I can she's back to her perky self and smiles at me with this knowing look in her eyes.

After lunch, I went to Edward to ask him this lingering question that kept circulating in my head, did the vampires have powers? It had only occurred to me when I thought about the multiple occurrences where it seemed Edward knew what I was thinking and from Alice's previous frozen state. And he did have some interesting things to tell me, vampires can have powers, however, not all vampires do and some also have enhanced qualities. He explained how he had telepathy and that while he could hear/see my thoughts he couldn't with Bella's, and he had enhanced speed, so he was faster than normal vampires.

He also told me how Alice had subjective precognition, she could see a person's future if they had already made their decision on a matter. Jasper had pathokinesis which allowed him to manipulate other people's emotions, Emmett had enhanced strength making him stronger than those around him, however, his strength can be beaten by a newborn. Rosalie has a gift of beauty which is apparently surpasses normal vampires, Carlisle's gift is compassion which allows him to resist human blood.

And lastly Esme has the gift of passion, which allows her to easily show love to all around her, she welcomed the others into her home, which now when I think of this, I understand why I get a motherly sense about her. Edward had also answered when I questioned about eyes, he said because they drink animal blood, they had gold eyes, while nomads who drank human blood had red eyes. I was more than grateful that Edward actually answered my questions and told me what I wanted to hear.

Finally, it was time to go home, I said my goodbyes to the Cullen's and waited in the truck as Bella and Edward shared a few words between one another. I was able to sit here and think about all I had learnt today and honestly, the Cullen's seemed to be a really nice family even if they were technically dead, that last thought made me chuckle. I notice that Edward and Bella have stepped away from each other and my eyes follow Bella's figure as she walks towards the truck, she gets in and drives me back to Sam and Emily's house.

I wave as Bella drives down the road before turning and walking towards the house, I can't help but feel like I'm being watched so I do what any smart person would do...I look behind me and search for someone. Only issue...I don't see anyone but that doesn't mean I didn't see anything, I could have sworn I saw a large hulking figure in the tree line metres away from where I was standing. It didn't look human, so I knew it was one of the boys, but I just knew it wasn't Embry for some reason. I had a gut feeling that it was Paul being protective and I felt a smile pull at my lips.

I turn away and walk into the house hearing a few of the boys chatting and mucking around, a sound that I have grown accustomed to and love. I run to join them in the living room and leap onto Embry's back causing us to fall to the floor in a fit of laughter. And it was in this moment I was thankful for where I was, I was happy and surrounded by people who I love and who love me. I will always feel guilty for that accident, but I couldn't be more than happier for this new family I have gained. Even if I don't deserve it.

I wanted nothing to change in this moment...but of course we don't always get what we wanted.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed this chapter it originally was going to be a short filler but I decided because it had been a while since an upload I would make it be a longer chapter. Although it was a filler, to introduce Abbie to the Cullen's and to set things in place for future chapters. I hope you still liked it.
