"I don't know Arnav. I just know that you are always here with me but only I can see you."

Arnav just stared at her confused. He couldn't believe what was happening. He was dead then how Khushi could see him and even touch him but most important from when Khushi can see him why didn't she tell him earlier why she ignored him. Is she afraid of him? She must be disgusted and scared to see a dead man in front of her. She-

Khushi cupped his face and broke his chain of thoughts.

"I know what you are thinking and I know you are confused but please listen to me. I'm not scared of you. In this whole world I trust you the most Arnav and for a fact I know living or dead Arnav Singh Raizada can never harm Khushi Kumari Gupta so please relax. We need to sit and talk about all of this. Can you do it for me Arnav?"

Arnav stared at her eyes and saw the determination there. He nodded and sat on the bed with Khushi beside him. 

Arnav held both her hands in his and said "Khushi I don't know what is happening and how you can see me all of a sudden but trust me I just wanted to be beside you and take care of you. I don't have any hidden motive behind it."

Khushi squeezed his hands and said "I know Arnav. I just told you that I trust you."

Arnav relaxed hearing this and stared at her lovingly.

"Arnav, can you tell me exactly what happened that night?"

Arnav nodded and started " That night I was preparing for the surprise I planned for your birthday when Aman called me."

6 months ago,

Aman was returning after a party with his friends. It was late and his car broke down in the middle of the street.

"Shit man! How can I be this unlucky? First, Rohit spoiled my mood by trying to make me drunk when he knew I don't drink and now this damn car."

Aman pulled his phone out and dialed Arnav.

"Hello" came Arnav's voice.

"Dude please help me yaar. I'm stuck here my car broke down and here's no one I could ask for help."

"But what are you doing there didn't you go to the party with Rohit?"

"Please don't take that idiot's name in front of me yaar. You know what he did? He was trying to make me drunk and wanted me to spend the night with a bitch. Can you believe this Arnav?"

Arnav started laughing.

"Don't laugh at me ASR. It's not funny."

"Yeah yeah I know my poor Aman is so pure he can't drink and spending night with a girl is out of question. Dude are you sure you are even a man?"

"Oh please you don't have any rights to say this to me when you can't even talk to any girl beside bhabhi."

"....."

"See you become mute whenever there's a mention of my bhabhi."

"Aman just shut up she is not your bhabhi…...at least not yet."

"Yaar Arnav the whole world knows how much you love her please it's time you do something."

"I'm doing it tomorrow on her birthday."

"Really great dude I'm so hap-"

"HELP SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP. PLEASE HELP ME"

Aman looked here and there to spot where the voice came from. He saw a girl running from an abandoned building screaming for help and 3-4 thugs looking at men chasing her.

"Shit!!"

Aman ran towards the girl to save her and forgot to end the call. 

"Aman..aman hello aman aman say something damn it..this idiot!!"

Arnav who heard the commotion but didn't understand anything took his car keys and left to reach Aman.

Aman reached to the girl and that girl hurriedly went behind Aman and pleaded with him to save her.

"Please please save me. Th-they..they" she sobbed.

Aman held her hand and squeezed them to assure her he was with her.

Those thugs also reach them.

"Hey bastard we really don't want to deal with you just give the girl to us and we will leave you."

Aman looked towards the girl and saw her shaking her head in no and clutching his hands in desperation. He decided he can't let anything bad happen to this innocent girl. 

"Shhh relax. I promise I'll not let anything happen to you. I'll handle them and when I tell you to run you run without looking behind. My friend Arnav will be here in a few minutes. I know him well and he will help you. Don't look behind, just run okay."

The girl nodded and shifted backwards. One of the thugs moved towards her but Aman punched him in the face and screamed at her to run. The girl ran from there. Aman tried to stop all those thugs to follow her. He succeeded for a few minutes but then 1 against 4. He became the receiver of punches. 

The girl was running and crying for the man who was probably beaten up by those thugs to save her. Her vision blurred from tears and she came in front of a car. Arnav stopped his car on time when he saw a girl come suddenly in front of his car and come out to look at her. 

"I'm sorry. Are you okay?" 

"Arnav you are Arnav?" 

"Yes I'm but what happen why ar-"

"Please save your friend. He is in danger please. Those men will kill him. He saved me but I know those men will not leave him. Please"

"What? Aman..Where?"

The girl pointed towards the way she came running from. Arnav nodded and started running towards it but then stopped. He took out his phone, tapped on it for a few seconds and gave it to her.

"Listen I know you don't know me but please trust me and do as I say ok. You know driving?*(girl nodded)*Take this phone I already put the location on gps drive there and when you reach there there's a contact named Akki Bhai. Call him and tell him everything. He will handle everything."

The girl nodded and left from there with the car. Arnav ran to save Aman. When Arnav reached there he saw two men holding Aman's both hands and a man ready to stab him with a knife. He acted fast and kicked the man.

"You stupid fool where the hell were you. What took you so long to reach here" Aman said to Arnav and kicked the man holding him.

"What the-I came to save you here and you idiot-" Arnav said and punched the other man who was holding Aman.

"Save me huh you can't even kick a man properly. I can take them by my own" Aman said, dodging a punch from the goon.

"Oh really. Let's see then, '' Arnav said.

2 vs 4 they may handle but then suddenly 3-4 more goons came there. Arnav and Aman tried to run from there but they got caught. Both were stabbed in their stomach and goons left them to die in the abandoned building.

"I'm sorry Arnav. I'm sorry."

"I love you Kh-Khushi. Please forgive me Bhai."

The girl reached RM and stopped the car in front of the gate. Then she called the contact Akki Bhai.

"Aru why are you calling this late? Everything is fine?" Akash's sleepy voice came.

"Th-this is Akki Bhai?"

Akash looked at his phone screen to confirm it was his little brother's number.

"Yes it is. But who are you? Why is my brother's phone with you?"

"Please help me and please help the phone owner. He..he told me to call you."

"What? Who are you and where's my brother?" Akash asked and hurriedly took his car keys.

"Your brother saved me from some goons and told me to come here and call you."

"Come where? Where are you?"

"I'm in front of RM."

"It's my home, wait there I'm coming to get you."

Akash reached outside and took the girl inside the house.

"Please relax, you are safe here. No one will harm you here. Now please tell me who you are and where my brother is?"

"My name is Anjali."

She then told everything to Akash. Akash helped her to the guest room and told her to relax then called the commissioner of police but when they reached there everything was already finished. They just found the dead body of Arnav and Aman.

"You know the rest Khushi" Arnav said finishing his story.

"I'm so proud of you Arnav. What you and Aman did to save Anjali Di no one can do" Khushi said cupping his face.

"Anjali Di?" Arnav asked, confused.

"The girl you both saved. Her name is Anjali. She studies with Payal and Akash Bhai treats her like his sister now. She was depressed for months. She held herself responsible for your and Aman's death. But Akash Bhai took care of her and now finally she is coming back to her life."

"I knew Akki Bhai would handle everything. He always did" Arnav said smiling.

"But he couldn't save you. I never saw him crying like that. He was so depressed thinking that his little brother died that night and he couldn't save you."

Arnav smiled bitterly. He knows his brother. He can understand what he must have felt at that time.

"Since when?" Arnav asked finally.

"Huh?"

"I mean since when can you see me? Tell me everything that happen after I died Khushi." 

"When I heard the news. I almost went insane. I didn't know what happened suddenly. Just a few hours ago I was planning to tell you my feelings for you on my birthday and then when I woke up the next day….I cried for days. I stopped doing everything. I just wanted one chance to say my feelings to you to tell you how much you mean to me and one day I decided to follow you-"

"What? What do you mean? Khushi tell me what you did?" 

"I...I tried to commit suicide-"

"What the- how..how could you Khushi...you-"

"I'm sorry Arnav I'm sorry. I know I was wrong but at that time I just wanted to see you so I took the kitchen knife but before I could hurt myself something happened. I don't know what. But I saw someone. He told me to wait. He told me that you will come to me if I wait a little more. And when I opened my eyes I was in my bed. I don't know if it was real or my imagination but I believed him because it was a hope for me so I waited for you. I waited for 4 months and then I saw you for the first time. You were in front of me with Aman. Aman was saying that no one can see you both and if you want to be here with me you need to be careful because if I or anyone else get suspicious of your presence there will be a problem. So I pretend that I can't see you but I did see you and felt so happy. Every morning when you wake me up saying you love me I so wanted to reply I love you too but I stopped myself. I was happy that at least you are here with me but now it's enough I can't pretend anymore."

"I-I..I love you Khushi I love you so much. Thank you for waiting for me. Thank you for having hope. I don't know who he was but thanks for believing in him."

"I love you too Arnav."
