"Are you sure you want to do this?" A voice asked.

The person nodded.

"Let me ask you again, is it really worth taking the risk?

"I don't know if it's worth it or not but I can't live with this debt. I need to do something to repay it." the person replied.

"Ok then if it's what you want."

The person nodded and left from there.

"So you're telling me that Khushi, the khushi we Know, the khushi who is very much alive can see us" Aman said bewildered.

Arnav smiled and took Khushi's hand in his.

Aman gasped "so it's true. You are not pranking me."

"Oh Aman please stop being drama queen. Khushi told me last week about this" Arnav said.

Aman suddenly looked at him with a serious expression and whispered "I'm so happy for you Arnav but did you tell her about-"

"No Aman I can't tell her. Please you also don't tell her about it. And maybe there's still a chance for us" Arnav whispered back.

"You do have a chance. Now just wait and watch Arnav. Your friend will do anything to get you both together. If after all this you guys are still together then it must mean something" Aman said.

"But-"

"No buts now. You both go and enjoy it. I have some work to do" Aman said and disappeared from there.

"You have a good friend Arnav," Khushi said.

"I know he is my best friend. He is the one after Akki bhai who knows me so well" Arnav said.

"Arnav why don't you meet Akki bhai? He misses you so much" Khushi asked.

"I want to Khushi but I don't have the courage to face him. When I saw him with you I felt the pain in his eyes. He was smiling but his eyes held pain and I can't see that pain I don't want to" Arnav said.

Khushi looked at his upset face and to cheer him up said "Arnav wants to go on a date with me today?"

"Date? You really want to go on a date with me. Khushi did you forgot I'm-"

"I remember everything but today we are going to do everything that we can't do when...when you….never mind. So let's go, we will go in my car, '' Khushi said.

"As you wish my queen" Arnav said smiling.

"So cheesy. Let's make a bet who reached the car first can make the loser do anything" Khushi said.

Arnav smirked and bowed to her.

"After you."

Khushi hurriedly left from there to win the bet. Arnav stood there shaking his head. He closed his eyes and disappeared from there.

Khushi reached the car huffing. 

"I won," Khushi said proudly.

Arnav came in front of her from behind the car.

"You said something," he said, smirking.

"How? You were not-" 

"You forgot I can do magic now," Arnav said, smirking.

"No. It's cheating you can't win like this" Khushi whined.

"You said who reached the car would be the winner. You never said how to reach the car" Arnav said.

"You cheater. Ok fine tell me what I have to do" Khushi said pouting.

Arnav looked in Khushi's eyes and cupped her face and said "I want...I want to save my wish. But I have the right to ask for it when I want."

Khushi nodded still lost in his eyes. Arnav smiled and stepped back.

Both reached the mall in Khushi's car. 

"Of all the things you want to do shopping on your date?" Arnav asked.

"No idiot, we are here for the movie. Come now" Khushi said.

Khushi held his hand and pulled him to walk fast. She was talking to him animatedly forgetting the surroundings but Arnav noticed the way people were giving her weird looks.

"Khushi, I think you should walk ahead. I'll follow you," Arnav hesitantly said hesitatingly.

"Arnav I know why you are saying this but please don't mind them. Today is our day and I don't want you to concentrate on what others think" Khushi said.

Arnav nodded and both went to watch a movie. Then they went for dinner at Khushi's favourite restaurant. Both were in a private area so no one could disturb them.

"You really can't eat?" Khushi asked, pouting.

"No I can't Khushi but I can feed you. Open your mouth" Arnav said, feeding her.

After the dinner both decided to return back to home early. 

"Arnav, I don't want to sleep in my room today," Khushi said.

"I don't think you can manage on sofa Khushi. It's not comfortable" Arnav said, confused.

"Arnav I'm seriously doubting your IQ level now. Who said I want to sleep on the sofa?" Khushi said, hitting his forehead.

"Then why did you say you don't want to sleep in your room?" Arnav said, rubbing his forehead.

Khushi shook her head. She held his hand and pulled him towards the terrace. 

"Here I want to lie in your arms and stare at the stars," Khushi said.

"Are you sure Khushi?" Arnav asked.

"Why? You didn't want to?" Khushi asked dejectedly.

"No, I didn't mean that. I was thinking about Khushi mosquitoes. I'm fine but they will bite you and I don't want them to hurt you Arnav said.

"Arnav you….you are….so cute" Khushi said laughing.

"I'm not cute," Arnav said, pouting.

"Yes you are, my cute little Arnav" Khushi cooed.

"Stop it Khush. Come your stars are waiting for you" Arnav said.

Arnav brought the extra mattress and both lied down on it. Khushi put her head on his chest and Arnav hugged her close.

"Thank you Arnav. I was so happy today. After so many days I felt alive. I love you Arnav" Khushi said.

"I love you too Khushi" Arnav whispered back.

He kissed her head and Khushi slept after a few minutes. After a few hours Arnav gently pulled himself up and kissed her forehead.

"I love you so much Khushi. I'm sorry for doing this to you but I had no other choice. Please forgive me" Arnav said and disappeared from there.

Khushi opened her eyes next morning. She frowned, not seeing Arnav beside her. She got up and went downstairs.

"Arnav where are you?"

"Arnav please come in front of me."

"Did he...did he leave me?"

Khushi stood still at her spot at this realization. 

"No..he can't...he can't do this to me...he..he..no."

She fell on the floor crying.

"I warned you to never let her know of your presence now see what happened" Aman said.

"I didn't let her. She said she saw me from the start. She was so happy Aman. She was smiling and I wanted her to keep smiling. I knew I was starting to behave like a human. I knew I was starting to hope and I knew that all of that is making me weak but Aman I didn't have courage in me to tell her that talking to her is making me weak. Feeding her food is making me weak-" Arnav choked on his tears.

"I understand you Arnav. But remember the warning we got before coming back here?" Aman asked.

Arnav nodded.

Arnav was surrounded by white clouds. Everything was white and he was alone there. Then he heard a known voice. He hurriedly chased the voice and saw Aman standing there with his arms wide open. Arnav hugged him tight.

"Aman thank god you are fine. You know I was so scared when I saw your still body. Then I was also stabbed but when I opened my eyes I was here. Did you know where are we? What's this place? Is it a hospital?" Arnav asked.

"I'm sorry Arnav I'm so sorry. Because of me you're here today. I'm really sorry" Aman said crying.

"Sorry what for?" Arnav asked, confused.

"W-we…we are dead Arnav and it's the place from where we will go to our afterlife" Aman said.

"W-what? Are you kidding with me? Aman its-"

Arnav stopped when realization hit him. He was stabbed but now he is not feeling any pain in fact there's no wound on his body. He stepped back dejectedly.

"Now what Aman?" Arnav whispered.

"Now it's time for you to choose an option" the grim reaper said from behind.

"Who are you?" Arnav gasped.

The grim reaper looked at him with a bored expression.

"Why do you humans have to ask this boring question? Of Course I'm the grim reaper" he said.

"What are our options?" Aman asked.

"Now he is the smart one. At Least he knows what to ask" he commented.

Arnav rolled his eyes and Aman gestured to him to calm down.

"So lets start. As you both know from here you will start your afterlife but before that you have 2 options. As you both died saving someone and saving a life is greater than anything so first is you can enter heaven and live happily till your reincarnation time came and-"

"And second?" Arnav said, cutting him.

The grim reaper glared at him.

"If it's in my hand I'll throw you in hell right now for cutting me. Don't you dare to interrupt me" the grim reaper said.

"I'm sorry on his behalf please continue" Aman said and gestured to Arnav to keep quiet.

"Your second option is go back to the Earth and-"

"I choose the second option," Arnav said.

"I told you don't cut my words. First hear me out completely then choose. You can go back to the Earth but as your body is dead only your soul can go back. You can wander around and wait for your reincarnation but you can't interfere with human lives. You can't let them know your presence. The moment any human gets to know about you your soul will start getting weak and soon you will ultimately disappear from the Earth and this time it will be forever. Your soul will be lost forever , never to be reincarnated. So did you still want to choose the second option?" the grim reaper asked.

"If without letting know my presence I take care of humans then can my soul live on the Earth for a long time?" Arnav asked.

"Yes it can but let me tell you there are humans who are special and can see a pure soul like you" the grim reaper replied.

"I'm sure no one can see my soul there. I want to choose option 2. Please let me go back to the Earth" Arnav said.

The grim reaper nodded and turned towards Aman.

"What's your smartest one?" He asked.

"My best friend died because of me. I can't let him go back alone. I'll go with him. I also choose option 2" Aman said.

"Option 2 it is then" the grim reaper said.

"You will be sent back to Earth soon. Till then wait here" the grim reaper said and disappeared from there.

"Now what are you going to do Arnav?" Aman asked.

"I don't know Aman. I think it's better to be lost forever. In the last 2 months we tried to find something to be able to live here like humans but we forget we are not human now so can't be one of them. We can't win our destiny Aman we can't" Arnav replied.

"Please Arnav don't lose hope. Don't know why but something in me is telling me that you and Khushi will be united. So please just this time trust me and just wait a little more" Aman said.

Arnav nodded. Aman stood from there and disappeared. Arnav continued sitting there watching his Khushi crying for him.

Aman reached the abandoned building.

"You are here again. I already told you there's no way I can help you" a beautiful woman in her early thirties said.

"I know you are lying. You are on the earth for decades, the oldest soul here. You have to know something. If it's not for my friend I would have happily accepted my fate but my friend didn't deserve to die. His love story didn't deserve to be incomplete. Even if I have to lose my soul for him to have a happy life I'm ready for it. Please tell me please" Aman begged.

The old soul stared at him with warm eyes.

"I knew you could do anything for your friend but I didn't know to this extent. But trust me Aman there's no way to bring back a dead back to life. Once a body is dead its soul can only reincarnate. There's no way to change the circle of life Aman. I'm sorry there's no way" the woman said.

"If we can't bring him back to life then can we atleast save him from disappearing?" Aman asked.

"It's the rule made by God himself and no one can change it. God made sure that never two different worlds interfere with each other. It's for the stability of both worlds. Your friend broke the rule now he have to accept the result of his actions" the women said and disappeared from there.

Aman kneeled on the floor and cried for his friend.

"I'm sorry Arnav I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise. I can't save you."

Aman came back to Arnav and saw him still seated where he left him in the morning. Arnav saw him and smiled bitterly seeing Aman's dejected face.

"It's fine my friend. You did your best. Let's just wait for future."

That night Arnav went to Khushi's room. He kissed her forehead and held her hand.

"You are my everything Khushi please be happy after I'm gone. Please don't cry for too long. Goodbye my love."

Next day when Aman came to see him he had disappeared. This time for forever.

After 1 month,

Khushi woke up and took her phone from the side table. She saw the time and her eyes went to the date. She gasped seeing the date. She hurriedly stood from the bed and went to her study table and saw the date on the calendar. Suddenly her phone rang seeing her college friend she picked it up.

"Hello."

"Happy birthday Khushi. I can't wait to attend your birthday party today" her friend said.

"My birthday...it was 7 months ago then why are you wishing me today?" Khushi asked confused.

"What? Khushi today is your birthday therefore I'm wishing you" her friend asked.

"I'm sorry but what date is today?" Khushi asked.

"Are you okay Khushi, why are you asking weird questions today? By the way it's 1st March your birthday" her friend replied.

Khushi stood shocked. She cut the call and hurriedly googled the date. 

"It's true it's the 1st march but how can it be possible yesterday was 1st october and if it is 1st March then that means today Arnav will die" Khushi gasped at the realization.

Suddenly her phone rang. Payal was calling her. She picked up the call.

"Hello."

"Khushi...khushi Arnav..Arnav-"

"Where is Arnav?" 

"He..he is heavily injured Khushi. I'm sending you the address of the hospital please come soon."

"I'm coming to Payal Di please take care of him for me."

Khushi took her car keys and left from there. She reached the hospital. Payal came to take her from reception.

"How is he? Please tell me he will be fine" Khushi asked with tears streaming down her eyes.

"Doctors said the operation was successful. He will be fine soon" Payal said.

They both reached outside Arnav's room and saw Akash standing there.

"Bhai Arnav"

"He will be fine Khushi don't worry. You can see him but don't disturb him. He is sleeping" Akash said.

Khushi nodded and entered the room. She could not believe in her eyes. The same Arnav for whom she cried for 7 months is sleeping peacefully on a hospital bed. She hesitatingly sat on the stool beside his bed. She touched his forehead, his eyes, his nose, his lips. Suddenly Arnav opened his eyes and held her hand.

"What are you doing?" Arnav asked, smirking.

"Are you really here? If it's my dream I don't want to wake up" Khushi said.

Arnav flicked her forehead. 

"Ahh. What are you doing?''Khushi asked, rubbing her forehead.

"Making you believe that it's not your dream, it's reality. I'm real, it's all real. Happy birthday my love. So how's my surprise" Arnav said.

"But how? I saw your body. I cried for months for you. I time travelled?" khushi asked.

"I'll tell you everything but firstly can you do one thing?" Arnav asked.

Khushi nodded.

"Can you please go and check if Aman is alright? And tell Bhai to shift him here with me" Arnav said.

"Aman how could I forget him. Please wait for me. I'll be back in a minute. Promise you will not disappear" Khushi asked with teary eyes.

Arnav smiled and said "I promise."

1 hour later,

Both Arnav and Aman's bed were beside each other and Khushi was sitting on the stool on the other side of Arnav's bed.

"Now please tell me how this miracle happened? I can't wait anymore" Aman said.

"Ok ok I'm telling everything now. That night I disappeared into darkness."

1 month ago,

Arnav was standing in an unknown place similar to the one where he opened his eyes after his death but this time it was different. This time there was no light. Everything around him was black. Not even a tiny ray of light. He had long accepted that his soul had lost for forever in this darkness. He didn't know for how long he was here but now suddenly he was feeling something different. Something in him is telling him to hope so he caught the tiny hope and started waiting. His wait was fruitful as after some time he saw a tiny ray of light. A hand was coming towards him from that light. He grasped that hand tightly and suddenly the hand pulled him towards the light. He shut his eyes tightly and then he heard a voice. The voice was unknown but it was warm which calmed him down. He slowly opened his eyes and gasped with the sudden brightness.

"What? Where?....how?" Arnav whispered to himself.

"You are in heaven Arnav" he heard the voice again.

He turned towards the voice and saw a man with...with wings??

"Wings?" He voiced out his inner thoughts.

"Ahh these. Yeah they are my wings. It's beautiful, right?" the man said cheerfully.

"Huh?" Arnav looked at him confused.

"Oh I'm sorry you are new here. Let me tell you from the start. So you are in heaven and I'm an Angel. You and your friend did something for me unknowingly which made me indebted to you and to repay that debt I brought you here" the Angel said.

"Angel heaven. What debt? What are you saying?" Arnav asked, confused.

"I know you are confused but the story I'm going to tell you will answer all your confusions so listen carefully" the Angel said.

"In this heaven there were 2 Angels. Both were made by God at the same time. They were together always. They did everything together. They were always happy with each other. One day they both fell in love with each other and broke the rule of heaven. They were punished. The punishment was to be separated forever. One of them was sent to the Earth to be born as a human without any memories of being an Angel and the other one was left here to live with memories. Still both yearned for each other and after witnessing the depth of their love. God blessed them that after completing their human life both can reunite with each other. But only if they completed their human life. So the Angel in heaven started waiting for his other half. But one day on Earth the other half's life got in danger. She screamed for help but there was no one. The Angel in heaven wanted to help but he was unable then 2 young men came and saved her. But in saving her they both lost their lives. Do you want to know who the 2 young men were?" 

" I want to know who the 2 Angels are," Arnav said.

"I'm the Angel in heaven and the woman you saved that night is the other one. You don't know you and your friend not only saved her life that night you also saved my life and our love. That's the debt I have to repay Arnav" the Angel said.

"So that means what was the name? Yeah Anjali, Anjali and you are lovers and Anjali was an Angel before being born as a human" Arnav said.

The Angel nodded.

"So you are the man who stopped Khushi from commiting suicide."

The Angel nodded again.

"Then why did you take so much time? It's already late, my soul is lost forever" Arnav said.

"From what I'm seeing your soul is perfectly fine. You are sitting here in heaven, how can you be lost?" Angel said.

"Yeah that's true but I already died 6 months ago and Aman told me nothing can bring the dead back to life" Arnav said.

"He didn't lie. But you both saved an Angel and 2 Angels are indebted to you. The Angel must repay the debt. You saved a life now I will save a life by sending you back to the Earth as human" the Angel said.

"What? Is it really possible? You are not kidding me, right?" Arnav asked excitedly.

"It was not possible but after talking with the higher ups it's possible now. Because of the higher ups it took so much time" Angel said.

"YES!!!" Arnav fist pumped the air but then suddenly shook his head.

"No I can't do this. I can't go back to the Earth without Aman. I can't go alone" Arnav said.

"Who said you are going alone?" Angel asked, smiling.

"That means we both are going back to the Earth?" Arnav asked with beaming eyes.

The Angel nodded smiling.

"Now listen to me you both will be back to the night when you both died but this time your brother Akash will find you on time and you both will be saved" Angel said.

"Thank you so much Mr. Angel thank you" Arnav said.

"Mr. Angel?" the Angel asked, raising his brow.

"I don't know your name that's why," Arnav said with a sheepish grin.

The Angel shook his head.

"My name is Shyam and yeah one more thing no one will remember anything about your death except Khushi" Angel said.

"Why?" Arnav asked.

"She already saw your soul Arnav and that can't be erased from her mind now. So she will be the one beside you both who will remember everything. It shouldn't be a problem, right?" Angel said.

Arnav nodded.

"One more thing Mr. Angel, can you tell me what are you going to give in exchange for mine and Aman's life? I know everything came with a price so please don't try to lie to me and tell me" Arnav asked.

"You are quite intelligent Arnav. You are right everything comes with a price and the price is our wings" Angel said.

"Wings? What do you mean?" Arnav asked.

"In exchange for your and Aman's lives I'm going to give mine and Anjali's wings forever. We both will always remain as humans" Angel said.

"Please don't do this Mr. Angel. Our lives are not worth it for your wings and then what about you love? Arnav said.

"It's worth it Arnav trust me. And if our love is strong enough then me and Anjali can be united in human forms also."

"Are you sure? You should think again" Arnav said.

"I'm sure Arnav doesn't worry about me. You should rest now. I'll be back when it's time for you tk go back to the Earth '' the Angel said and left from there.

"And now here we are," Arnav said, completing the story.

"I wish Anjali Di and Shyam to meet soon. Their story deserves to be completed like ours" Khushi said.

"I wish too. Because of them we are alive again" Aman said.

"They will be united. I know they will," Arnav said.

At night,

Aman was sleeping on his bed and khushi was sitting beside Arnav.

"After losing 2 times I gotta know how important you are for me Arnav. Please don't ever leave me again, I can't handle it again" Khushi said.

"You are my life Khushi I can't live without you. I promise that was last I'll never leave you again. I love you khushi" Arnav said.

"I love you too Arnav" Khushi said.

"Can you please continue your romance when I'm not third wheeling you" Aman whined.

Arnav and Khushi laughed at him.

After 2 months,

Arnav, Khushi, Aman, Anjali and Payal were entering the college.

"So how are you feeling after coming back to college?" Payal asked Arnav and Aman.

"Don't ask him Di. Arnav was so excited for today that he didn't sleep the whole night and didn't let me sleep. He called me at 1 am and didn't let me cut the call" Khushi complained.

"Hey it's not fair I was just excited and you said it was cute now you are complaining" Arnav sulked.

All laughed at Arnav. Suddenly Anjali bumped into someone and the person she bumped caught her in his arms to save her from falling.

"Thank you/I'm sorry" both said at the same time.

"SHYAM" Arnav yelled.

Shyam winked at him.
